Todd is a personable and professional individual who doggedly tracks down whatever plumbing problem(s) you're having. In my case, I recently had piers installed under my walkout ranch foundation. Three months later (the weather had kept me inside), while doing laundry, I noticed water leaking between the slab and base of the outer wall. My initial thought was that while leveling the house the contractor had broken a drain pipe (water wasn't constantly leaking as it would with a supply line). I contacted the PipeDoctor. Todd and Terry were at my house within a day or two and inspecting my drain network with their camera system. No drain pipes were found to be cracked/broken, but they were badly clogged. The good news was that my drain system wasn't broke and wasn't the source of the leak. Todd is a tenacious problem solver, and proceeded to track down the leak to a poorly installed corner section of my gutters two floors above! The leak was running down the inside of the walls and escaping to the outside at the slab. I could fix the gutter issue. Because of the clogged drains, and the confidence/trust I gained while working with Todd, I had the PipeDoctor come back the following Monday and clean the drain pipes, install new washer shutoff valves, and reseat a bath tub drain that was moved during the pier work. After many months of high water bills the city helped me diagnose an underground water leak between the meter and house. By this time it had become obvious with a puddle in the front yard. My insurance, State Farm, recommended PipeDoctorLLC so I sent a text. Todd responded confirmed the problem and scheduled a time for repair. I had an adder to my home insurance that covered service lines to the house and Todd was prompt and thorough to provide the insurance company with what was needed for them to approve my claim. On the scheduled day he was at my house early and worked all day, doing all the excavation of the 50 foot line and replacement himself, completing the job in 1 day. Our water was back on in the afternoon. Todd had to remove sheet rock in the house to complete the installation of the new water service. He did so neatly keeping the old sheetrock in 1 complete piece which I was able to place back in the same spot. The next day he came back to the house and did some extra landscape work to restore our yard after the excavation. All the work was done, on time, perfectly and met the estimated cost. I noticed a leaky spigot as the forecast called for freezing weather in the coming days. I tried to repair on my own but quickly realized it needed to be completely replaced, which involved soldering copper, and was a job for a pro. I google searched and tried several of the listings, but Todd was the only one who made it a point to find time the next day, whereas some of the others were telling me a week (was thanksgiving week). I've used Todd twice now. The first time he did an excellent job of rerouting my laundry drain line. Works better than ever now. Last week my main line was draining very slow and I thought I had a clog or backup. I called Todd in the morning and he assured me he would be out later in the day. After his assessment he advised that the problem was the city sewer line was not moving and it was likely causing my issues. He went outside and looked in cities line and sure enough that was the cause. He even offered to call the city for me. The city came out and cleaned out the lines and now all is working well again. In what other business of its kind do you get to talk directly to the owner and have the peace of mind to know that s/he is taking full control of the job? I will always recommend Pipe Doctor for any plumbing services around Lawrence. They were professional, trustworthy, and economical as well. They arrived promptly, diagnosed the issue with our water heater and gave me several options for repairing vs. replacing it. We ended up replacing it as it was almost 20 years old at that point, and went with a slightly larger model for only $100 more. They ran a new gas line and plumbed the pan under our water heater to drain over to our sump pump, in the event it ever leaked. Todd and his team were done with the repair in a single day.
