What a gem! While…read morevisiting Sarasota it was off to Sun Soaked Coffee Company this morning for our morning coffee. This is a great, little food truck parked in a lot putting out some really good coffee product. I went for a hot coffee with cream and the coffee was piping hot and was packed with flavor. A really nice roast and something you wouldn't get sick of having each and every day. My wife went for the iced sugar cookie latte made with oat milk and loved every sip of it. IT also had a cold foam atop the latte complete with sprinkles and definitely was a social media worthy drink but also was beyond tasty. I read some reviews about how good the donuts are and people were not lying. A glazed donut that was warm and had a light crisp on the outside but were pillowy soft on the inside were the kind of donuts that if I lived in the area would certainly be something I would downplay the amount of times per week I would get them for fear of people judging me. They were amazing; top ten donuts of all time list for sure!

My order was made incorrectly multiple times, and instead of basic professionalism or accountability, I was met with eye rolling, attitude, and visible annoyance for simply trying to correct it. What stood out the most was not even the mistake itself, but the energy behind the interaction. It felt like frustration and irritability were being projected directly onto customers instead of handled internally. I understand working in a small truck environment may be stressful, but customers should not be made to feel like an inconvenience for politely addressing an incorrect order. The overall experience felt unnecessarily uncomfortable and emotionally charged over something that should have been simple customer service. There are too many businesses with staff who know how to interact with people respectfully for me to continue supporting this one.

Fire Tacos - The best tacos around!

Fire Tacos is a food truck that serves up tacos and other Mexican food favorites. The food truck…read moredefinitely has seen better days, but I have found that the best Mexican food does not come from flashy type places, but rather these humble places. It is my humble opinion that the more ambiance a Mexican place has, odds are that the food will suffer. This is not always the case, but more often than not, I find that the fancier the place, the food suffers more. I went up to the food truck and scanned the menu. Let me start out by saying that their tacos on corn tortillas was $2.50. Quite a bargain. I got three tacos and was charged $7.50. The woman at the one side took my money and almost instantaneously, another woman handed me my tacos. I opted for a carne asada taco,a carnitas taco, and a chorizo taco. They were pretty well packed with meat, especially for the relatively low price point (some might even say downright cheap). They were also pretty tasty. I also liked the salsas that came with my tacos. I will say that I preferred the red salsa over the green salsa, but both were very good. Fire Tacos was definitely a pretty good choice if you are in the Sarasota, Florida area or if you are passing through (the truck is not located far off of Interstate 75). I would definitely recommend Fire Tacos and I will give it five stars overall. Go check it out for yourself. I do not think that you will be disappointed.

The good thing is that the tortilla soaked up most of it. I appreciated that they used two types of onions (red and white onion) but the white onion pieces were really large--this is just a preference issue and didn't really affect the taste of the taco. Not the best tacos I've had but certainly not the worst either.

We were acknowledged quickly and then she came over and took our drink orders. We ordered trash can nachos that were really good. 3 of us had the bbq chicken salad, one had the fish fry, one got wings and the other had a Cobb salad. The fools had a beautiful presentation and everything was really tasty. We didn't have any trouble talking and hearing even with all of the tvs on. It filled up without being too loud with conversations which was nice.

It was beautiful outside and luckily were offered an outdoor table (which was perfect as in inside seating area was very cold). We were sat (2ppl) and were about the 5th or 6th table outside. There was a table sitting next to us that had clearly finished their food and we're waiting to pay their check after about 15 minutes. The mother took the two other children and left the father there to pay the bill. About 10 minutes later, he ended up getting up and going inside to find a server. His new sword ever came outside. We sat at our table for probably 30 minutes and watched the host. Continue to see people outside filling it up. After about 35 minutes of nobody ever even approaching our table, we got up and left. I don't understand if you are short staffed why you would open an extra receiving area if you cannot service it? I have been there in the past and it has not ever been this bad. But after almost 45 minutes, I'm not even being acknowledged, we had to leave and find lunch somewhere else. To me, this was 100% on greedy management. You are not gonna increase your sales by filling up the restaurant and then not having enough service staff on duty to take care of it. I noticed another table also get up and walk towards their car after they saw us get up and leave. Not a manager in sight, not a server insight, just the continuing seating by a young man who was only doing what he was told to do, obviously without direction.
