We did the private tour for $100 per person and it was well worth it. It was my first experience horse back riding so the instructor was very helpful. The storm hit in the morning but we were able to go back in the afternoon which was amazing!

What a great ride! We thoroughly enjoyed it! Christy was wonderful! The horses were great! No nags! Lol I've trail ridden a lot and by far Christy was the most engaging and informational than anyone I've encountered. I highly recommend especially for inexperienced riders. Thanks Christy.

Wonderful experience! Ages 9 to 45. Most with little to no horseback riding experience. Got up to a trot several times. Horses well behaved - guides Chrissy and Jess were knowledgeable and instructive and patient. Plenty of beach time...plenty of road time too, to get to the beach. Highly recommend.

I don't even know where to begin when it comes to reviewing this place. I went from east to west trying to find a place where to take my daughter riding at the beach. None of the places I found accepted kids younger than 12 and the ones I did find, had some questionable reviews. Then we found Sarah and her horses and I am glad we did. Our ride was smooth and relaxing. Her only concern was Domino trying to roll on the mud or water with me. Which I wouldn't mind, except for my in-tow 3K Nikon. She was honest and clear about whatever behaviors concerned her and what she expected from us. Our group had my daughter, a 10 yr old riding since she was 4, my mom - who has never bee on a horse, and myself - not as experienced as my daughter but comfortable enough to get on one. All horses matched our size and skill levels. If you are in the west side of Puerto Rico or don't mind the ride, please ride with them! You will love it.

If you visit PR def come to Rincon for this. It's a drive from San Juan but the most beautiful and relaxing thing you will do on vacation. I want to come back just for this!!!! The pics i posted are just a taste of the beautiful area.

Firstly, I'd like to say I have had terrible experiences while horseback riding. I always thought "horses don't like me". I decided to give it another go! I'm so glad I did! They asked me my "experience" and although I've been on horses before, I explained my situation and she gave me the perfect horse, Domino! He was so nice to me and we had a pleasant ride on the beach with others. The views are breathtaking and the people who run it are very professional and really listen! Thank you so much! They come highly recommended!

We were told that they have closed this area to the public now as it was disrespected after a viral tik tok video, people were trashing it, parking anywhere, and destroying the land. So now the owner has closed it and has this tour company to take people in to crowd control and make sure the land isn't trashed. I'm glad we went because it was only 4 of us and the tour guide! We took our time walking through the rivers, looking in caves, kayaking, and hiking. It was a quiet and calm adventure. So beautiful! The tour guide was also awesome! He found unique plants, flowers, bugs, and birds to highlight. The offered a ride to the location, life vests, and helmets. Everything else is up to you to bring- water, snacks. What an experience!…read more My husband and I ended up on the west side of the island the other day and decided to go horseback riding. I grew up around horses, but it was my husband's very first time riding. We both had an absolute blast. The ranch was easy to find, parking was simple, and the staff was incredibly friendly from the moment we arrived. The process starts with signing a waiver, getting weighed, and being matched with the horse that's best suited for you. It takes a few minutes, but for good reason. they really take the time to make sure everyone is paired safely, so be patient. It's absolutely worth it. Once you're in the saddle, the ride takes you through all kinds of terrain paved roads, beautiful forest trails, and even the beach. There are a few narrow, winding paths that make the ride feel adventurous while still feeling completely safe. We even got to spend some time trotting, which was such a fun experience, especially for a first-time rider. My husband was thrilled to pick up the pace, and our guide made him feel comfortable and confident the entire time. A huge thank you to Carolina, our guide. She was absolutely stellar. She is friendly, kind, patient, and so easy to talk to. She kept conversation going throughout the ride and made an already amazing experience even better. If you're visiting Puerto Rico and thinking about horseback riding, I can't recommend this experience enough. My friends and I had every intention of purchasing tickets online in advance but it slipped our minds. By the time we decided on going, and with the slight traffic that there was, we would make it there with only a couple minutes to spare. We tried purchasing our tickets online, but the website told us to call (most likely since we were so close to the time slot). When we called, they answered immediately. They were understanding of our situation and informed us that if we could make it there before 3:30, they could try to settle us into the slot. We sped there and made it at 3:15. They have a grass area for parking. One of the staff members helped us with filling out some forms, weighing us, and explaining some of the basic information. We used the bathroom before proceeding. Next, we were given horses based on height, weight, and experience. It was nice to see all the planning that goes behind the distribution of horses. They are really considerate towards the horses and make sure that the person and animal are a good fit. There were about 4 young people helping everyone onto the horses. I was originally given Godiva - like the chocolate - but later switched to Tonka - like the truck. We were split into two groups, mine led by Kiara. The experience truly does take the full 2 hours. It starts by going through a complex of very nice houses, then goes into a more woodsy environment, and then the beach. The beach was breathtaking. Our group stopped on the beach and Kiara offered to take group and solo pictures, and also made sure we were still comfortable on the horses and offered help if not. Sometimes, we'd get the horses to go fast on straight aways, and that brought me a lot of laughter and joy. My horse was a bit stubborn and did stop to eat multiple times. I was embarrassed that I could not control my horse, but the leaders were kind about it. The experience with taxes included was about $95 per person which I thought was fair and cheaper than some other ones around. I would highly recommend.

The adventure itself was a lot of fun, and the scenery was beautiful. That said, I do think the tour is overpriced compared to similar adventure experiences I've done in other countries. Since participants have to meet at the former Arecibo Observatory, which is quite remote, I was surprised that no bottled water or even a small protein bar or snack was provided after such a physically demanding activity. That would have been a thoughtful touch and would have enhanced the overall experience. I also felt the guides could have been more professional. While they were generally helpful, it didn't seem like there was much organization within the group. It would have been safer and more enjoyable to have guides positioned at the front, middle, and back of the group to better assist hikers with different fitness levels. In addition, the frequent use of profanity among the guides was disappointing and came across as unprofessional. Although most of us understood Spanish, the tour was conducted in English, and I expected a higher level of professionalism. For anyone considering this adventure, I recommend being in at least moderate physical condition. Some sections of the hike can be challenging, so this isn't the best choice for someone who isn't comfortable walking on uneven, rocky terrain. Also, wear shoes that you don't mind getting muddy, wet, and dirty--you'll definitely need them! Overall, I had a great time and I'm glad I experienced it. The cave tubing itself was memorable and a lot of fun. With a few improvements in customer service, organization, and professionalism, this could easily become a five-star experience.

Although he'd reserved a studio, when we arrived, we found we had been upgraded to a one-bedroom unit, as the studio's door was being repaired. Late check in was very easy. We enjoyed drinking our coffee on the deck whilst watching the sun rise in the mornings before grabbing our gear and walking down the short flight of steps to the sand. The gift shop within the office is a major time saver, too, when you need a drink or snack but don't want to drive. The Econo supermarket is only about an 8-minute drive away, though, when you do want to do a grocery run. It was awesome having a fully stocked kitchen and being able to cook and eat in most meals. We loved grilling on the deck at sunset! The Ola Lola restaurant is a cute spot a short walk away for food or drinks when one would rather skip cooking, too, and in each room, there is a very thorough guide compiled by the management with information on where to find all kinds of things in the area, from film development to entertainment. It was extremely convenient to be able to do laundry on the premises also. The staff are super helpful and maintain VT very well. Our unit (1B) was clean and comfortable, and by the end of our stay, we had fallen into a nice, homey routine. I was sad to leave and understand why Shacks is a place so many return to every year. They call you about 20 minutes prior to pick up in the morning (assuming you are being picked up from your hotel). Jorge and Angel were my tour guides with Jorge being the primary and the driver. We lucked out some pretty significant rain in the morning but we still had the opportunity to snorkel. The first area we snorkeled was negatively affected by the rain and the visibility was horrendous. After swimming beyond the wall, the water was clear and you were able to see various types of colorful fish. We then had to pick up an additional couple before heading to El Yunque. The ride there was about an hour and music was played and conversation was had between the guests and guides. El Yunque was beautiful and Jorge pointed out various plants and sights along the way. The climb to get to where the water slides and cliff jump is was pretty strenuous in my opinion and if you even have slight mobility issues it probably won't work for you. I had the opportunity to go down the slide and jump from the 20 foot cliff into the water. Just as we were hanging out in the water for a few the torrential rain came back. It did not hinder anything except trying to dry off a bit before getting in the van. My main and only real concern was Jorge's driving on the way back from El Yunque. We had an hour drive and it was a severely heavy rainstorm. He was on his phone using both hands, dancing with both hands off of the wheel in the air and jerking the steering wheel left and right along with the music. I was terrified! I think that the majority of this is due to him being only 20 and immature but the risk of an accident in the rain is raised when you are breaking the tire traction by whipping back and forth. The entire tour was great but this drive back really stressed me out, I was tense and my whole mood shifted. I even texted my husband from the van to let him know how careless and negligent Jorge was driving. Safety during the tour was fine EXCEPT for the ride home where all safety went completely out the window. I would not drive with him again. The following day I took an Old San Juan walking tour with Roberto. They tell you to get there 30-45 minutes early to meet your guide. While I was keeping cool and hydrating at a local establishment, I received more than one text and email from the company saying that check in had started and not to miss your tour. I rushed over to the meeting spot and searched for my guide with no success. They do not show up until about 10 minutes before the tour so don't stress getting there that early and surely don't let the automatic text messages make you think you are late...

Truly a breath taking experience!…read more This was is one of the best experiences we had in Puerto Rico! If you're looking for the typical tourist horseback ride, this isn't it. This is a rainforest adventure led by a woman and son who genuinely love their horses. You can immediately tell these horses are family, not money-making machines. They're happy, well cared for, and some are rescued. The horses we rode were great listeners and sure-footed. The short ride through the beautiful mountain slopes to just being surrounded by an incredible rainforest was absolutely breathtaking, the sounds of the rainforest seem to talk to your soul. We stopped at the river where the cold rushing water flowing over the rocks felt like natures version of tub jets. It was the perfect way to cool off. We enjoyed the cove built where tiny freshwater shrimp naturally gather. We put our feet in, and the mini shrimps gently nibbled away the dead skin. It was like getting a free pedicure right in the middle of paradise! This wasn't just a horseback ride. It felt like being welcomed into someone's home and experiencing a piece of Puerto Rico with people who truly care about the land, the river, and especially their horses. As if the experience couldn't get any better, we returned to the barn, She invited us on her deck/porch where she served us fresh water and tropical fruit from the trees on her property. oSitting there, enjoying juicy fruit with that incredible view, was the perfect ending to an unforgettable day. I would recommend this experience to anyone visiting Puerto Rico. We can't wait to come back!

We rode down a fairly steep, winding path on the horses to the river. At the river we were able to walk across rocks to get to a swimming area. We stayed there for about half of the time. After the ride, she gave us mango and coconuts to have on her porch with a great view of the rainforest. There were some opportunities for good pictures, but unfortunately we don't have any of those because the owner, Amy, took pictures for us and said she would send them to us. After the fact, she said she wouldn't send them unless we paid her for them, which was not what she had communicated during the ride. She also sent a link to tip her or send her more money in exchange for the pictures. This is after we paid $100 per person for the experience. I would recommend looking at other Horseback Riding experiences. I was put off by the interactions with the host and lack of professionalism.
