We did the private tour for $100 per person and it was well worth it. It was my first experience horse back riding so the instructor was very helpful. The storm hit in the morning but we were able to go back in the afternoon which was amazing!

What a great ride! We thoroughly enjoyed it! Christy was wonderful! The horses were great! No nags! Lol I've trail ridden a lot and by far Christy was the most engaging and informational than anyone I've encountered. I highly recommend especially for inexperienced riders. Thanks Christy.

Wonderful experience! Ages 9 to 45. Most with little to no horseback riding experience. Got up to a trot several times. Horses well behaved - guides Chrissy and Jess were knowledgeable and instructive and patient. Plenty of beach time...plenty of road time too, to get to the beach. Highly recommend.

I don't even know where to begin when it comes to reviewing this place. I went from east to west trying to find a place where to take my daughter riding at the beach. None of the places I found accepted kids younger than 12 and the ones I did find, had some questionable reviews. Then we found Sarah and her horses and I am glad we did. Our ride was smooth and relaxing. Her only concern was Domino trying to roll on the mud or water with me. Which I wouldn't mind, except for my in-tow 3K Nikon. She was honest and clear about whatever behaviors concerned her and what she expected from us. Our group had my daughter, a 10 yr old riding since she was 4, my mom - who has never bee on a horse, and myself - not as experienced as my daughter but comfortable enough to get on one. All horses matched our size and skill levels. If you are in the west side of Puerto Rico or don't mind the ride, please ride with them! You will love it.

If you visit PR def come to Rincon for this. It's a drive from San Juan but the most beautiful and relaxing thing you will do on vacation. I want to come back just for this!!!! The pics i posted are just a taste of the beautiful area.

Firstly, I'd like to say I have had terrible experiences while horseback riding. I always thought "horses don't like me". I decided to give it another go! I'm so glad I did! They asked me my "experience" and although I've been on horses before, I explained my situation and she gave me the perfect horse, Domino! He was so nice to me and we had a pleasant ride on the beach with others. The views are breathtaking and the people who run it are very professional and really listen! Thank you so much! They come highly recommended!

Julie and Chrissy were great guides. This was one of the highlights of our trip to Rincón.

My friends and I had every intention of purchasing tickets online in advance but it slipped our minds. By the time we decided on going, and with the slight traffic that there was, we would make it there with only a couple minutes to spare. We tried purchasing our tickets online, but the website told us to call (most likely since we were so close to the time slot). When we called, they answered immediately. They were understanding of our situation and informed us that if we could make it there before 3:30, they could try to settle us into the slot. We sped there and made it at 3:15. They have a grass area for parking. One of the staff members helped us with filling out some forms, weighing us, and explaining some of the basic information. We used the bathroom before proceeding. Next, we were given horses based on height, weight, and experience. It was nice to see all the planning that goes behind the distribution of horses. They are really considerate towards the horses and make sure that the person and animal are a good fit. There were about 4 young people helping everyone onto the horses. I was originally given Godiva - like the chocolate - but later switched to Tonka - like the truck. We were split into two groups, mine led by Kiara. The experience truly does take the full 2 hours. It starts by going through a complex of very nice houses, then goes into a more woodsy environment, and then the beach. The beach was breathtaking. Our group stopped on the beach and Kiara offered to take group and solo pictures, and also made sure we were still comfortable on the horses and offered help if not. Sometimes, we'd get the horses to go fast on straight aways, and that brought me a lot of laughter and joy. My horse was a bit stubborn and did stop to eat multiple times. I was embarrassed that I could not control my horse, but the leaders were kind about it. The experience with taxes included was about $95 per person which I thought was fair and cheaper than some other ones around. I would highly recommend.

Although he'd reserved a studio, when we arrived, we found we had been upgraded to a one-bedroom unit, as the studio's door was being repaired. Late check in was very easy. The property's deck is large and has a gorgeous view of the beach directly below. You really cannot beat the location of Villa Tropical on Shacks. We enjoyed drinking our coffee on the deck whilst watching the sun rise in the mornings before grabbing our gear and walking down the short flight of steps to the sand. The gift shop within the office is a major time saver, too, when you need a drink or snack but don't want to drive. The Econo supermarket is only about an 8-minute drive away, though, when you do want to do a grocery run. It was awesome having a fully stocked kitchen and being able to cook and eat in most meals. We loved grilling on the deck at sunset! The Ola Lola restaurant is a cute spot a short walk away for food or drinks when one would rather skip cooking, too, and in each room, there is a very thorough guide compiled by the management with information on where to find all kinds of things in the area, from film development to entertainment. It was extremely convenient to be able to do laundry on the premises also. The staff are super helpful and maintain VT very well. Our unit (1B) was clean and comfortable, and by the end of our stay, we had fallen into a nice, homey routine. I was sad to leave and understand why Shacks is a place so many return to every year. The beach is clean, the big waves break far from the shore, there are interesting reefs for snorkeling, many days have adequate wind for kitesurfing, and there is a friendly surfer community among those who stay in the area both longer term and seasonally.

Once on site, we had a few minutes in the Margarita Bar to take a bathroom break, grab water or snack, etc. Then we went to another area to get our gear put on and then headed to the first line. Before getting started one of the guides gave instructions on what not to do with the gear, how to hold on and how to pull yourself in if you don't make it all of the way to the next platform. Next the adventure began. I don't recall the description saying that there were open-slated wooden bridges to cross or slightly steep and possibly slippery hills to climb. I can say that my nerves, glutes and hamstrings got an intense workout. lol. The last line ends back at the Margarita Bar, perfect for if you need a shot after. The guides help you get all of the gear off. The views were great, and I really did enjoy myself. I made it across successfully on all 5 lines. We rode down a fairly steep, winding path on the horses to the river. At the river we were able to walk across rocks to get to a swimming area. We stayed there for about half of the time. After the ride, she gave us mango and coconuts to have on her porch with a great view of the rainforest. There were some opportunities for good pictures, but unfortunately we don't have any of those because the owner, Amy, took pictures for us and said she would send them to us. After the fact, she said she wouldn't send them unless we paid her for them, which was not what she had communicated during the ride. She also sent a link to tip her or send her more money in exchange for the pictures. This is after we paid $100 per person for the experience. I would recommend looking at other Horseback Riding experiences. I was put off by the interactions with the host and lack of professionalism.
