It was an amazing tour! There were only 8 people on our tour and we didn't run into anyone else... we had the place to ourselves, which was very welcome after the crowds on other tours. Edwin was everything you would want in a tour guide, funny, helpful, knowledgeable! The tour included just the right level of adventure... the bridge was beautiful and exciting and the cave was dark but still visible. Absolutely amazing! We booked the River Cave tour and had an incredible time. We had originally booked for a Wednesday in the off-season, and they called us a day before and asked if we could switch days because there wasn't enough people (only the 2 of us - and they need 4 people minimum to go out). Luckily we were also free on Friday - they said this is possible during the off season, so something to be aware of (I did not know this prior to booking, and I'm just glad we had more availability to be flexible in moving dates). Edwin was our tour guide and he was incredible. Super knowledge and lots of fun. We drove all the way from Loquillo and are so glad that we did! Really cannot recommend enough. read more

Worth every cent! Daughter and I had an excellent experience from start to end. Edwin is a wonderful guide, you learn a lot from him during the hike and he has a great sense of humor so it's an overall fun time. Safety is their highest priority so even though parts may sound scary, you are in great hands. We would take the tour again and recommend it to anyone traveling to PR! Note: make sure you have your cell phone (or whatever small valuables) in a waterproof or floating container, someone dropped their cell phone in the water during the tour and although no one thought it would be found (it was dropped while in the cave), Edwin managed to work his magic and the person got their phone back. Edwin was a personable, funny guide who remembered all our names & was always happy to take a pic for us! 5 of us went on the short cave kayak tour. It was beautiful & well worth the price. The drive is curvy to get there, but the roads are well kept. (Do not speed. Great customer service from the phone call to the end of the tour. Edwin and Javier were very knowledgeable and made us feel very safe throughout the tour. We had some amazing pictures and educating about the forest. The staff was also kind enough to help us with our return to San juan. Overall an amazing expieremce and a must if you go to Puerto rico. The excursion was wonderful, it was amazing to be so remote in the mountains, the hike was great, kayaking was fun and Edgar gave us refreshers on kayaking, the cave was a great experience and then cliff jumping was fun into refreshing water! If you are an adrenaline junkie and very adventurous like myself, probably won't be super thrilled with the adventure but very relaxing and fun morning. Came across Batey Zipline through a recommendation from our hotel concierge, and this business and its owner, and our guide, Jorge, were top notch for adventure and eco tourism. We had booked a private tour with a hike, kayak through a cave, and visit to a coffee hacienda (mix of active and chill) and had a blast. The theme that carried through the whole day was learning what life is like in rural, mountainous central Puerto Rico. We felt Jorge was very strong on safety, responsibility, and knowledge. The conversations with him were the best part. Please note that if you're coming from the main tourist areas of PR, there is a narrow, winding mountain road to get there (hwy 111). If you are comfortable driving that, fine (we were), but if not, then consider hiring a driver who knows the mountain roads. HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND! read more

My husband and I ziplined with Batey's 5 years ago. To this day it is one of the most memorable experiences. We have gone ziplining in different places since, but Batey's was the best by far. It is set in the middle of a beautiful eco forest and run by an amazing group of guys who take you.on a tour of the gorgeous property they try to preserve. A must do if you are looking for outdoor activities. Manolo, Albin, and Javier were our guides. These guys know what the heck they are doing and are a ball of fun energy. Zip lined 7 lines, hiking, repelling, and kayaking through a cave. It's worth the drive from San Juan. I recommend hiking boots and brining water shoes in your back pack. You will get wet while kayaking so wear appropriate clothing. You can also jump off a cliff into the water if you like. My favorite part was kayaking through the cave.
