One of the most magical experiences I've ever had. The scenery was absolutely stunning--something you have to see in person to truly appreciate. Pictures just don't capture the beauty. I'd go back in a heartbeat. I was a little nervous at first since it was my first time riding a horse, but the staff made me feel completely at ease. They gave clear instructions during the briefing and were super open to questions, which made a huge difference. Big thanks to the sweet girl with the curly hair who gave us such a warm welcome and introduced us to the incredible Puerto Rican horses. And a special shoutout to Javier--your guidance and calm energy made us feel like seasoned riders.

Don't miss out! We had an amazing horseback riding experience, thanks to our incredible tour guide!, Javier ! From the moment we arrived, they made us feel welcome and at ease especially because my 10 year old daughter is new to riding. The horses were well cared for and clearly loved, and the trail was absolutely beautiful -- peaceful, scenic, and just the right amount of adventure. I highly recommend taking time to enjoy this memorable tour while relaxing. Don't miss out!

I had a nice time in Puerto Rico, but horseback riding here was by far the best part of my trip! I'm an experienced rider, but it had been 30 years since I last rode, and it felt great to be in the saddle again. I was given a silver horse named Smokey, and my husband had a bay horse named Galante. My husband was basically a first-time rider, and the guide looked after him and the other beginners. The horses appear to be healthy and well-cared for; they are Paso Finos or mixes and smaller than most horses in the mainland. So, the weight limit is understandable and something to be aware of. Our ride started in a ritzy residential neighborhood, then went to a meadow path and led to the beach. We went on another forested path to enter the beach again. After resting the horses for about ten minutes, we took another trail back. I loved every minute of it, and my husband did pretty well. The ranch is not easy to find. We discovered that Google maps is more effective here than the map function that comes with your I-Phone.

Our tour guide Colton was amazing and so chill! We had a great time during our tour. It was my husbands first time doing horse back riding and they were so patient and made him feel so comfortable doing it! And the trail was so peaceful

Nice experience. Great staff and they were patient to our needs. Horses we all chill wow they were out doing tours. We got a chance to see some of the staff taking care of the horses

Such an an amazing experience. We came a few years ago and just had to come back. My daughter loves horses and these horses are so well taken care of. Alexis was such a great tour guide and knew his horse trivia lol. Thank you guys for an unforgettable experience

This was the most amazing experience we have ever had! Javier was an incredible guide! Definitely recommend Javier for your ride! Super friendly and great guide! The entire staff was very friendly! Great facilities! Very accommodating! Healthy, happy horses! Beautiful ride along the beach! This is a must have experience when in Puerto Rico. I can sum Tropical Trail Rides in one word. SPECTACULAR!! Horseback riding on the beach has been a bucket list item since I was 10. And now, at 58, I can check it off. From the wonderful and extremely professional and knowledgeable staff, including our guide Doug and my wonderful horse Harmony, to amazing views of the beach to riding through the Almond Tree Forest, there is not one thing I would change. I can not recommend them highly enough! The ranch is beautiful and the horses are happy and healthy. Thank you for helping me check something off my bucket list. Whether you are a new rider or you've been riding for 30 years, this is the place to go if you want to have an amazing experience!!

I had such a good time riding horses here. I recommend this place. We picked the two hour trail. You have to pre-book it. It comes with a guide. They are very professional and knowledgeable. I would advise to follow the pre instructions. They will give you a recomendations on how to dress for the ride. I would follow it. It is a nice trail. You go through grass and canopies of tree. It is so relaxing and beautiful. They then take you by the beach too. It is a secluded beach i think they called it survivors Beach. They gave the horse a little break halve way the trails. We where able to have some horse time pet and take pictures at this time. It is a good time to drink water. I had a great experience. The horses are so gentle and well behaved. The pair you with a horse depending on level of your experience. I had a great time.

The trail in the Forrest and beach view is so beyond beyond. The horses listen and are well taken care of. They do a mid point stop, highly recommend bringing water with you. It is two hours but so worth it. My horse was Alamo..a wonderful male horse.

Tropical Trail ride was absolutely outstanding! I had called around a bunch of different venues to see if they offered experienced riders the ability to do more than walk on the trail ride. Michelle with tropical trail ride said absolutely we do and booked us on a private ride with wrangler Doug. This has by far been the best trail ride I have ever done. My husband and I got to walk, trot, and do lots and lots of loping along the trail and on the beach stopping to give our horses a good rest while we lazed around in the rock pools looking at the beautiful fish and enjoying a lovely cool down. Our wrangler, Doug, was so much fun! He made us feel very at ease, gave great instruction, and made sure we had an excellent time and got what we paid for. The facility itself is beautiful, and it is very clear that the horses are very loved, and very well cared, for. I would absolutely come back to this place again, and again. They tailored the ride to suit what we were looking for.

The crew was quiet, offering little to no information about the mangroves or surrounding islands, we had to keep asking questions just to learn anything. The boat itself was in need of maintenance, with exposed, cracked cushions showing wear from the sea and sun. To our surprise, snorkeling gear came at an extra charge upon check-in, despite the website advertising it as part of the price. To top it off, there was no music on the boat, making the experience feel dull and uninspired. As for the snorkeling, the spot we were dropped at had barely any coral reefs or fish. When we asked about it, we were told that if we swam further, we'd find artificial reefs, not exactly what we were looking for. Overall, it was a disappointing experience that didn't live up to expectations.

We were warmly greeted and walked through the evening plans. Our captain was attentive and very knowledgeable of the area, sharing information about the fish and land around us. We were docked in a sand bar and allowed to get out and swim with tarpon fish! That was incredible. Our family snorkeled and swam and watched the sun set beautifully on the west coast. As we traveled to the bay after the darkness fell, we were offered life jackets and pool noodles to float in the dark bay. Our captain explained what we were seeing and why it happens there. Our best view was under the hull of the boat. Having adult children they were very impressed by this phenomenon. I highly recommend bringing extra towels and dry clothes, especially if you are eating post boat ride.

Yes we do a lot of hiking so maybe not for everyone but if you want an adventure and see Puerto Rico trust me you will on this tour. Thank you to Mariel and the company for everything! Best day of our trip! The ONLY reason I would take out one star is because they have no clear directions to get to the tour on the website. We put the address in the GPS and it took us 20 mins away from the actual tour. We called them and the employee we talked too seemed really annoyed that we were lost and wasn't too helpful! I just wish he had more patience. Thank God we talked Spanish if not I don't see how we would've gotten there on time with the employees attitude. But at the end helped us a bit and we got there on time. By the way, The employee was not the same one we toured with.

Launching from La Guancha, the dock was easy to get to and there was plenty of parking. For $28 roundtrip (as of 12/16), it was a value excursion! On this uninhabited island, there are no stores or vendors. Bring your own food, drinks, and beach comfort items. The ferry does sell drinks, some alcoholic beverages, snacks, and food (hot dogs and kebabs). You have to preorder the food in the morning and they'll cook it up fresh while you go play on the island, serving lunch at noon. For $60, you get roundtrip transportation and twelve meal and drink tickets (two tickets for food items, one ticket for snacks and drinks, including beer). The prices onboard are actually quite reasonable, so the meal tickets really aren't that much of a deal, in my opinion. You can also rent beach chairs and snorkeling gear from Island Ventures at very affordable prices. On this gorgeous island, we wanted to do it all! We wanted to hike to the lighthouse, explore the caves, play at the beach...everything! But we somehow couldn't get away from the water. We played at the beach, snorkeled, and then beached again. Snorkeling gear was only ten bucks to rent (as of 12/16), but because I can't swim and needed a life vest, I paid another two bucks for the whole shebang. While we were close to coral along the shore, it wasn't the best snorkeling environment. Not a lot of wildlife around all those human types that lined the shores. There were many fish under the dock, so we carefully explored that area. The water is a brilliant turquoise, but not very clear (it wasn't dirty, it just wasn't crystal clear), so it was often times difficult to see, even from a short distance away. Ferry leaves La Guancha at 8:30 AM on the dot, so get there early to check in and grab a seat. The forty-five minute ride each way is pretty smooth. Ferry leaves the island at 3:30 PM.
