We went to Pinstripes to celebrate a birthday. We sat at the bar while we waited for a couple members of our party. The bar tender was very personable. We tried a couple beers , suggested by the bartender, which were pretty good. When our party arrived we were em seated for Brunch. The brunch was buffet style. I was skeptical at first based off the size of the selection. I tried the omelette station which was pretty good. I also tried the carved ham, pasta, chicken tenders, waffle station and a couple desserts. The waffle station was pretty good. I highly recommend the Nutella waffle, delish! I was expected wings but the chicken tenders they had were actually pretty good. We also took advantage of the bottomless mimosas. Overall the food was good, our waitress kept our glasses full. Very good food, not my first time visiting this location. Definitely check out during the Boozy Bottomless Brunch on the weekends , they keep the mimosas flowing for 20 a person. Steak was exactly how I requested, medium, eggs perfectly scrambled with cheese. Only complaint would be the small baked potatoes on the plate, cut them up and give us diced breakfast potatoes or something. Lobster Baguettes were okay, very light and airy so the baguette was a perfect compliment. Reason for the 4/5 was simply the service but we may have caught her on a bad day. read more

The service here was terrible! We came for bottomless and sat for like 45 minutes until we got our first round of drinks. Our waiter was egregiously, agonizingly slow; each round took 30-45 minutes to come. The waiter would blame it on the bartender, but only God knows why a plain orange mimosa pitcher should take long at all. 4.5 strikes... I mean stars... This place is really special. They've got everything figured out! They have fresh clean socks of every size available for free if you forgot socks... They've got little rolled up blankets for free if you want to take a blanket with you to snuggle up on one of their upscale comfortable couches in your bowling lane... and they even have a free glass of wine any time you come In just for giving them your email address. As people have said before, bowling is actually really affordable and they have happy hours that make their drink prices really attractive! Even at full price the place has lower than average prices for this area on food and drink. I didn't get anything to eat but a number of friends did and everything looked delicious. They even have a 5$ burger on Tuesday night if you're bowling. In addition to bowling they have four or five botche ball lanes- I didnt get to play this yet but next time I come I'll be sure to get on it. All and all I'll deff. This is just a food review, not the bowling review (I didn't try bowling). There was nothing particularly special about the food, so I would say the dishes served here are just normal and very much bar-like. We ordered the spinach artichoke dip, pepperoni pizza, burger sliders, and the calamari. I usually enjoy spinach and artichoke dips, but this one was very salty, and the dip had too many full artichokes in it and not enough dip consistency. Thank god for the grapes served on the side, which helped me relieve the saltiness just a bit. The pepperoni pizza did look great, but wasn't anything special. The crust was a little too crunchy and I didn't feel that there was enough cheese. The burger sliders were a bit dry, but were just fine in terms of satisfying my mini burger crave. The calamari was also fine. The service was a bit slow to be honest, the food really took it's time coming out, BUT we were also upstairs, away from the usual tables. I do want to note--I did come for a trivia, and it gets super competitive but they do a great job hosting it! Overall, I'd probably rate this place 2.5 to 3 stars for food and service. read more

The bowling and boche courts are top of the line and there are many lanes for you to choose from. The food was good! They have a great beer list and the food is great! We went for a date night midweek with another couple - so 4 people. Our intention was to have dinner and play bocce. Let me start that the greeter at the reception desk was completely uninterested in us and more bothered by the fact that he had to deal with us. I will add that there were three people behind the reception with no wait. The restaurant looks kind of like a bit upgrade Old Country Buffet. It is incredibly generic and basic. There is some adequate art, and it is cleaner, but nothing upscale or romantic about any of it. Nor does it have a sports bar vibe which would have been an acceptable alternative. The food was meh. You could probably have eaten in a dozen restaurants in Georgetown with way better food. The service was even less desirable. I had to ask for service after 10 minutes of being ignored and I am still waiting on the bread we asked for. We had a similar reception experience when we had to go to the bocce court, but this time we stood around at reception until someone came, and then she said she would be right back but disappeared for 10 minutes while we were ignored by multiple servers until our dinner server saw us and she brought us back to the bocce court where someone was on the court we had been assigned, but she accommodated us. The server there was not attentive at all and in general while there were a LOT of staff working, none seemed to be working the courts. I might consider going back, but only to play bocce or bowl and have drinks. We had a good time with our friends, but really it had little to do with the place. read more

FAMILY FUN WITHIN GEORGETOWN = With the main road of Georgetown being filled with bars, restaurants, and shopping--it was actually refreshing to do something EVERYBODY would enjoy after running around all the monuments not far away. BOWLING FOR ONE HOUR = Rather than paying per game, we paid to use the lanes for one hour (shoes were included). It was 8pm on a Sunday night and although Pinstripes wasn't very busy, we snagged one of the last two lanes. Within one hour we managed to cram three games. FOOD AND DRINK AND SERVICE = This place is large and you definitely can sit in an intimate space away from bowling. There were just two of us so all we had were drinks and an appetizer (Cool! There was a happy hour this late!). Every bowling lane has a dedicated server. Ours came many times at the beginning but towards the end he completely disappeared. Which is unfortunate because I really needed to question him... MY ODD UNFORTUNATE STORY = When I ingest anything from the Peanut family my stomach hurts tremendously in a swell. All I had at Pinstripes was a Cider and their simply-labeled 'Tomato and Basil' Soup--neither should contain those trigger ingredients yet minutes after eating one my stomach hurt so bad and stayed hurting for the next four hours. Do not come here if you actually want to bowl. The lanes are short and there is no space in the walk up. The lanes felt like they hadn't been greased, and when I asked about it they said that yes they were greased. Upon further inspection I found out that their maintenance man was out on a three day vacation and that they had not greased the lanes and could not do it for us- so they had lied and the lanes weren't greased. It wasn't even fun to bowl here, any curve shot went straight into the gutter. It ruined our event and was a pure waste of our time and money, for it was not fun. Do come here if you want a fun chic place to eat, drink, or play bocce. Remove the bowling alley and you have a great spot. But holy hell that was the worst bowling experience of my life. read more

This place is so fun to go bowling in! I came here with coworkers for a holiday party and was pleasantly surprised at this place in the middle of Georgetown. We arrived right when they opened at 10am and of course were the first and only people there. They have about a dozen lanes and it is very spacious. It is one of the fancier bowling alleys that I have ever been to. They had large leather like couches around your bowling lanes and servers came around to take your orders. There were some very nice coffee and tea options and I ended up ordering their white orchid tea. They also had freshly baked cookies when we arrive along with a lemonade stand outside the bowling alley. They have a cafeteria area where you can eat along with a bar, which is all separated from the bowling area. The servers were very kind and were attentive throughout our time bowling. But of course we went to just have fun with each other and we had a great time bowling. They had a lot of options for bowling balls so if you are like me and are picky about your bowling ball weight along with finger size for holes, they have a lot of options available for you. It was not too expensive to rent out two lanes and bowl for an hour with our staff. I plan to come back and bowl with some friends or maybe have a party. The lobster bisque was SUPER salty - barely edible. But the salad was tasty and inventive! Although I don't think it needed both gorgonzola and burrata. I ordered a green tea and was very surprised that I got a cup of hot water and a tea bag. I would have thought that in a place like this, I would have gotten loose leaves or at least a little tea kettle to brew my tea in. Almost immediately after we arrived at our pre-reserved bocce court, I was handed a bill and told to leave. I was super confused - we just sat down, we pre-paid for our bocce court, and we had the court for another hour at least. Eventually it got cleared up, but it was very strange. Absolutely unacceptable service. They obviously do not care about covid and would rather turn a profit than guarantee safety and comfort of their customers. I was part of a party of 10 people and on Saturday we were extremely excited to go eat at pinstripes. Unfortunately, a member of our party tested positive for covid and we could no longer make the reservation. When we called to cancel they were i accommodating to say the least. They would not cancel without a cancellation fee. During an already stressful time Pinstripes managed to make a situation 100x and $100 worse with their ridiculous policies. When we asked how they handle covid cases and reservation cancellations there was no hard policy and nothing was stopping us from just showing up with a positive covid case (We did not show up because that is a health risk). You would think in times like this a policy would be in place to ensure safety for all customers and that staff would be accommodating in these uncertain times. I am disgusted. read more

I've been wanting to try Pinstripes since it opened (long ago, I know! But between moving around a lot for work, and more recently, COVID, it never happened). The idea was so great -- bowling and bocce and a bar -- and so we decided to go for it over the long weekend. We picked Monday specifically because they advertise $1 for your first hour of bowling excluding certain holidays which they list out (major holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas, but do not mention Federal Holidays). It didn't say anything about particular days being excluded other than the major holidays listed, nor was there any mention of it when my friend made the reservation USING THE COUPON for $1 bowling on that specific date. So it was a pretty big surprise to pay over $40 each for two hours of bowling for three people. It's nice to have loungey seats and options for nicer food and drink than a regular alley, but I'd stick to a place that honors its specials or is at least up front about them. While I find that amount pricey, I didn't mind the cost so much, but rather the bait-and-switch. They weren't even crowded so there was no reason not to honor them. I never would have selected that day to go otherwise but they had certain promises listed. Everyone was perfectly fine when we were there, service wise, but this really rubbed me the wrong way. Maybe I'd go back just for food or give bocce a try but I wouldn't trust their advertising. read more

Listen I know I'm coming with a second review and it's because I want to express how happy this establishment makes me. My girlfriend had her 22nd birthday here and it was absolutely fantastic. We invited all our friends and basically had all the different menu items and it was exceptional every time I go here. I even got to speak with Alex Michaud the GM and he welcomed me and was able to briefly speak with me. This will forever be my go to restaurant so good I even had to write a second review. I've been here twice, both times for work events and it's a good venue for that. I'll start off by saying that if you're a bowler or actually care about bowling, these aren't the lanes for you--stick to AMF or Bowl America. It seemed like it's been a long time since the lanes have been oiled, the lanes feel cramped from the low ceiling, large support beams, and dark paint colors. The seating is cramped and whereas other bowling alleys strictly prohibit food and drinks near the lane, here there are no rules; I had my drink brought to me right on the lane, which is nice, but dangerous. It'd be a good place for kids and the system allows the bumpers to come up and down for specific players. Kids were running all over though, wrestling on the lanes, which again is a hazard as people are swinging around 15 lb balls. I didn't play bocce but those courts looked great--nice and open. Since this was a work event there was a lot of food and overall I was very impressed with the food. I was mostly expecting dried up messes but everything I tasted was quite good: pork loin, mac and cheese, salads, mozzarella sticks, veggies... and the staff was very nice but it was a bit hard for them to keep up with a large group and requests coming in every time they came by. I think for work events they'd make their jobs easier by just bringing carafes of wine and separately taking beer/spirit orders. read more

The brunch is a pretty good price, with $36 for unlimited food and mimosas. The food spread was great! There was prime rib, made to order omelettes, waffles with fruits, chocolate fountain, lunch foods such as chicken, fries, etc. They had just about everything brunch you could think of. I went for the first time with a group for a weekend afternoon of bowling followed by dinner. Paying for and getting shoes for bowling took longer than necessary. Poor organization of that process slowed it down. The actual bowling was ok but there was a group there from SE Washington who were loud and uncouth. Yes, it's a bowling alley but typical bowling alley behavior is not the same as behavior from the projects. There were about a dozen of them in one lane, which was against the rules of persons per lane that the rest of us followed. The bowling facility itself was ok but the clientele diminished the experience. Two stars for the bowling. I ordered two drinks and was disappointed by both the quality and the price ($10-12 each). In my opinion, this is a hidden gem in the mountain of DC brunch options. It's a quaint location in Gtown, with some seating outside overlooking the C&O canal. Inside is a rather dated, but still clean banquet hall-style restaurant. We went for brunch and bowling for a friends going away event. A 2-hour bottomless food buffet brunch is $30. And it's $36 if you want bottomless mimosas added on. The mimosas are good and the food is nice. Food definitely is not gourmet, but there's a good amount of breakfast and lunch options for you to grab at your leisure, as it's buffet style. Went bowling afterward. The lanes are dated but clean, like the restaurant area. I think it was $15/person for an hour. Our waiter was so great. He continued serving us mimosas even after we finished eating and were bowling. It made for a very fun Sunday afternoon. Overall, this is a perfect spot for larger family or friend gatherings. Only large negative here is the amount of kids - there were more than you'd find a younger, hipper brunch spot. But if you like kids then hooray. read more
