Great location and perfect for families and dogs! The food is good. Everything we ordered we enjoyed, and the location is great with ample parking. The staff are friendly and attentive. There are outdoor seating with heaters, a bar area and a large dining room. The food comes out fairly quick and they are good portions. Only downside is that there is one restroom on the main level. More restrooms on the second level where you'll also find a small banquet hall and a small bar. Expect the bathrooms to be packed when there's an event. Made reservations for two bowling lanes at 7:45 on a Tuesday. At first I couldn't find the entrance, but it was the glass door that leads into a restaurant/bar underneath the large Pinstripes sign. We arrived 10 minutes before our reservation like asked, but we weren't led into the bowling room until our reservation started, so we lost a bit of time changing shoes and setting up the lanes. There were many different game options for the bowling TV display. We played one where they put different filters on your picture every time you bowl, which was kinda fun to watch. Our bowling lane also broke down for a few minutes and nothing happened when we tried to reset our lane on the monitor. When we asked for help, the servers said they would call someone but no one ever came to help. It's just strange that there doesn't seem to be anyone who runs the actual bowling part since this is a bowling alley, just a few servers hanging around. For $22 a person, it wasn't cheap, especially for the service and since we didn't get to bowl for the full hour. Since the price is per person, it might be more worth it if you have less people per lane. With 5 people in my lane, we were only able to play one full game within our hour. read more

We came for their Saturday brunch buffet! It is 37$/person but they offer a really good selection of brunch items. They also offer bottomless mimosa for an additional $28/person for those who really want to get their day started. I was pretty overwhelmed on where to start at the buffet. They had an assortment of breakfast items like sausage, scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes etc...But in that station, believe me when I say you MUST get the brussel sprouts, they were so good (perfect roasted sweet n salty flavors). Also the cioppino was really good, the bread provided was a lil hard for me but still delish. They have a nice carving station with Prime Rib and honey ham I think, but it looked really good. I didn't get the prime rib since my plates were full but my bf said it was pretty good. You can swing by to BYOO (build your own omelette). It's made fresh in front of you and you can add whatever you'd like with the ingredients present. Another highlight of the buffet were their waffles. Idk how they did it but they were fluffy and delicious, if I could I would've gotten 10. There's an upstairs dining area but we didn't get to go upstairs. We had an incredible time celebrating out mom's 70th Birthday! Our Goddess of a server, Karina, was so gracious and warm with all out table rearranging die to the size of our party growing, bringing delicious food (we were raving over the bbq pizza, lobster bisque, maple salmon and so many more dishes!) we were running late for our bocce reservation and they were so gracious. Our server Karina made sure to check on us upstairs and safeguarded all our birthday provisions while were having a blast playing bocce and bubbles upstairs. We had reservation today for the Sunday brunch for 3 and it was our first time here. We checked in 5 minutes early, but the host refused to check us in; she told us to come back at our reservation time to check in since they are "still setting up" on our table. I checked back in during my reservation time, but she told us again the table is being set up and we had to wait. Then there was a very long line of guests checking in. They were all seated before us, even those parties who had the same amount of people as us. After waiting for another 10-15 minutes, she finally came over and asked us what my name was. She basically never checked us in. They finally took us to a table they claimed they were setting up for us, yet there was nothing set up. The table was empty. Even after we went to get our food, our table was still empty. We had to flag down a waitress just to get utensils. Our waitress didn't even want to stay long enough to take my husband's beverage order. She barely came to check on us. We were seated at a table in between a very large party that had to utilize 2 separately tables. Very loud group. I don't know if the waitress was a friend of theirs, but she was very attentive to them and ignored our table. Aside from the poor service, the food was good. I have wanted to try dining at and checking out Pinstripes, which opened before the pandemic in late 2019 I believe. They are in a nice two story large space, and they have dining seating options scattered throughout their large space. There's also a smaller bowling alley upstairs, along with upstairs patio seating, a bar, and what looks like a large room that you can rent. I came here a few Friday's ago and made it in time for their Happy Hour Menu, which is currently Monday through Friday, 3pm to 6pm, and Sundays, 4pm to 7pm. I ended up going with a straight off the menu entree(Spaghetti with meatballs). I also shared an order of their truffle fries, and I ordered myself a glass of their House Pinot Grigio. Their Happy Hour menu is reasonable and has a decent amount of options to choose from. Overall the food was decent, but I didn't think either the spaghetti with meatballs or truffle fries were a homerun for me. Our waiter, who was in training and being shadowed by a more senior waiter, was extra cautious with us and I can't give my verdict on service here, until I dine here at least a few more times. Three things from our experience today - one good, two bad: 1) The brunch buffet food is really good! There's a great variety and it's all fresh! The cookies were out of this world. The food is the only reason I'm giving at least two stars; otherwise, it would only be one star. MAYBE three since they let us have a ton of the brunch cookies; but I feel like they only did that because I complained about the poor service. 2) The organization of the restaurant is poor. I made a reservation for the bistro and the hostess told us we had booked a table for the outside patio. My email confirmation reservation even says Bistro. I always make my reservation ahead of time 3) The service is terrible. Since they messed up our reservation, they sat us in the bar and said a server would be helping us. A server came - one time - to get us drinks. Every time we needed something, I had to call someone over, walk up to the bar myself to order my drink, also asked for hot sauce and no one brought it; I even had to find and grab my own pepper shaker. The hostess sat two men at the table next to us, and at least 8 different servers walked over to stand around and make conversation with them. Not a single time did they look at our table or ask us if we needed anything. Terribly inattentive and rude. I've eaten here a good handful of times and I've never experienced such horrible service. I've gotten better service at Sizzlers; and that's saying something. They ONLY started paying attention to us and being nice after I had gotten up and complained to three of them standing at the bar register/POS. Five stars go to our server Anu who took care of our group of 21 people! Pinstripes is conveniently located in the Hillsdale mall in San Mateo. It has plenty of parking spots and is in the middle of East Bay and South Bay. Hence, perfect venue for an event like our size with friends commuting from different parts of the Bay Area. We booked in advance a private room and two bowling lanes for a Friday night at 7pm. The reservation and menu selection was made through multiple calls and back-and-forth emails. On the day of the event, Anu was extremely helpful and attentive. He got everything ready for our group (moving chairs, adjusting music, taking drink orders for early guests etc.). He constantly checked in with us and refilled the drinks. He made sure everyone was having a good time. Food was great too. We ordered a couple platters (Chicken parmesan sliders, cheeseburger sliders, tenderloin sliders), flatbreads (cheese flatbread, pepperoni flatbread, BBQ chicken flatbread, and prosciutto fig flatbread), and a few veggie dishes (roasted brussels sprouts, caesar salad, and chop salad). To make it a happy ending, we added Ghirardelli Triple chocolate brownies, caramelized cheesecake, chocolate chip cookies and crème brulee). The restaurant has a very nice ambiance but the food can be disappointing. I ordered the baby back ribs which was described as "fall off the bone" but what I got was a half cooked ribs that couldn't even be cut off the bone! And when I told the waitress that I couldn't eat this food because it's not even fully cooked let alone being fall off the bone, she asked if she can show it to the chef and without offering if I want something else instead they decided on their own to bring me another dish of the same exact thing with the same terrible quality. I told them I lost my appetite and she offered to box it for me since they already made it and I agreed to give it another chance next day only to learn they don't know how to make this food period and they ruined it for me so bad I would probably never eat ribs again! The super salad however was very good so maybe stick to making salads. And that is the only reason I give a two star even though I walked out of the restaurant hungry and not satisfied! It was quite busy when we went for dinner, but the service (Jasline - Asian female server) was amazing. She went over and above what we asked for and was super friendly. Firstly, we were seated outside and it was the most gorgeous day with people roaming around this little section of the mall. So the ambiance is amazing! For the price, the buffet options were pretty great! I loaded up on the shrimp cocktail. It tastes exactly like the Costco shrimp with cocktail sauce which actually makes me very happy. The one real negative was the prime rib. I don't eat red meat a lot so I'm not the most experienced but even my friend agreed that it was pretty tasteless and chewy. I couldn't eat it. But everything else I had was pretty good with the Brussels sprouts being my absolute favorite. And when it comes to drinks...they bring you an entire carafe of your chosen drink at a time so you don't have to keep flagging them down! Really an amazing deal!!! We have been there a few times. The food and service was good. I did notice on all the times we have dined there, that all the servers are cordial, however look and act very stressed. One thing we all didn't like this time around was the way the manager came over to our table, and didn't say a word to us. He picked up one of our empty plates, and quickly rushed off. This was rude, and not what I consider proper service etiquette, especially from a manager. It makes perfect sense now, why the staff act the way they do. They seated us late because there was a line at the door. Then they told us we had to wait until 2:30 to order off the menu. In the lane next to us was a party of 10+ girls who kept spilling into our lane. When the food came we had less than 10 minutes to scarf it down before they forced us to leave. There was no natural seating area to finish our meal so we had to pack it up. To add insult to injury, they turned off our lane a minute early, while we were on the 10th frame. We complained and they gave us 2 minutes extra which wasn't enough time for all players to finish. I'm giving an extra star because the food was good, but i can't imagine a worse value for the price. 1st time here! Amazing food and service Alyssa was phenomenal She explained all of the specials and we explained that we were going to Cinapolis so we needed to be out by a specific time. All of drinks, apps, and main course were served hot and in the right amount of time. We were able to enjoy each course. Came here for early brunch on a Sunday. I had high hopes for this place that came in highly recommended so I was expecting a decent experience. This place gets busy and seems like they have private events going on all the time, which doesn't help with the traffic. They do not have a menu option and only a buffet option. I have never been a fan of a Buffett and after Covid-19 it is a huge turn off. Of course, being my first time here I didn't know that which disappointed me. I got charged the full amount even though I signed and paid for the split amount. I tried calling the location four times today and was basically turned away due to how busy their manager is today and that it is Mother's Day weekend. That is understandable but the error was on their end, not mine, and I'm trying to get refunded as soon as possible. I already emailed the manager since the hostess couldn't help me on the phone and still am not getting a response. I recommend checking your bank statements if you've split the bill. The hostess informed me that this has been an issue which is quite concerning. It tells me they are aware but choosing not to do act on it. You have your choice of dining inside our outside, we came on a hot day so inside was my first option. They allow you to reserve online which is super convenient, I love simplicity! We ordered appetizers, my cousin wanted balsamic chicken wings and pigs in a blanket. He enjoyed every bite and asked if I wanted his last wing. I ordered their tomato bruschetta, so delicious! I am honestly so confused by the one star reviews for Pinstripes. I booked lunch for Father's Day for my family of 4, upstairs patio dining. I stalked the reservation site everyday for a couple weeks until I snagged bowling reservations for 1 hr (perfect for us, with 2 little kiddos). We ran very late for lunch; apparently traffic is back and I was not prepared for it! Even though we were late, Brian and the other host were able to find a table for us on a very busy holiday. We were out in the front patio in front of the restaurant. It was a bit hot with no shade, but it was our fault so zero complaints here. Our serve Nikki (I think) was so nice and accommodating. She had great tips and recommendations on the menu. We ordered the lobster bruschetta and steak and eggs. They were so good! The kids got spaghetti and pizza off the kids menu. It's was simple and perfect. Bowling was also so great! They left lanes open for covid precautions. There were much less people than capacity. The sofa and table were so luxe. We ordered desserts, and they gave my son complimentary chocolate chip cookies. I watched the staff clean lanes after other guests had left. They sprayed and wiped down each bowling ball. I felt safe the entire time. The entire afternoon was just perfect and Mr. O loved his Father's Day experience. I ordered a medium rare steak and it came up to close to well done. So I asked them to replace it with a new steak since it's not what I wanted. The second steak came and it was rare....
