Meetings @Hero City shared offices downtown San Mateo, CA.. Sat 7/10/2021

Meetings @Hero City shared offices downtown San Mateo, CA. Since my company workforce is distributed all around the globe, even those of us who reside in Silicon Valley don't get to meet in person very often. We learned to work well virtually way before the pandemic lockdowns. Over the years, we held prestigious offices in downtown Palo Alto, Redwood City, mingled with VCs, rubbed elbows with other startups, worked on funding and product architecture, installations at client companies, growth & expansion. Shared office space serves us well at this stage. As an executive you have to make strategic decisions. With my sales and business development team mostly on the East Coast, analytics and Dev-Ops abroad, QA in SoCal, Marketing in Tahoe, it simply makes sense to maintain a shared office space. Hero City is a very unique place and provides for impressive environment if you need to invite visitors or meet up with guests from client companies. I can't speak to their networking events or happy hours, as my company involvement with Hero City has been limited to the pandemic times. Cheers! p Because I'm free Nothing's worrying me It won't be long 'till happiness steps up to greet me Raindrops keep falling on my head Meetings @Hero City shared offices downtown San Mateo, CA.. Never replied to a request for a hot-desk in the co-working space. Super unprofessional.

I came to this WeWork to get some work done since the internet at my new place wasn't set up yet…read more This was my first time at a WeWork so I was a bit on edge since I didn't know what to expect. When I got there, a woman let me in and essentially gave me the run down. You get a key card to access the elevators, there are conference rooms you can book and phone booths to take small work meetings. The 2nd and 3rd floors have dedicated areas for quiet work while the 4th floor is more collaborative. They have free beverages throughout the day so if you wanted some tea, water or coffee, you can get that. The hibiscus tea they had on tap was pretty good and ended up being my go to for the day. They also have snacks for an extra charge and you can order food to the building and the delivery is pretty seamless. I wanted to access the WiFi and to do that you have to find a link from their website and get a special password linked to your account. Unfortunately, no one told me this, there were no QR codes to scan on the desk, or any signs posted so it took be a bit longer to get set up. Everything else was pretty smooth except for the first floor not having any paper towel. I think all of those things are easy fixes though. Overall, productive place to get work done if you want a change of pace.

Upon the tour I was ready to make an offer but said she would email me the Agreement later. I asked if there was any interest in the space twice and both time she said there was none. I get an email a couple hours later saying it had been leased. So either it was incompetence or I was the stalking horse. Becky, the managing partner then said they also have a corporate accounts person. It seems crazy to me they are not in touch it is obviously a large organization with a CRM that will have all this information. Complete bait and switch. Btw I've leased more than 75k sqft of commercial office space class A for many years this is probably the most unprofessional experience I have ever had. Out of compassion I reached out to the ceo and founder. I would want to know about this.
