We had our wedding reception here and everything was perfect. The food, the servers and the atmosphere were all terrific! We had appetizers and drinks to start off the cocktail hour that included meatball sandwiches and other finger foods. For dinner, we had a variety of family-style options, including pasta, two different kinds of salads, chicken and desserts. Everything was wonderful! Our guests kept saying how much they enjoyed the food at the tables and how much fun they had bowling, playing bocce ball and sitting outside by the fire pit on the patio outside. In fact, some guests even said this was the best wedding they've ever been to. We were so pleased with Pinstripes and making this such a fun and unique wedding venue. Came in for lunch with my cousin who was in town. He had beaten me to the table by about 15 minutes. I appreciated that the host and server had taken care of him until I arrived. A lite chutney and toasted pita strips kept him company until I arrived. Had we not been on company time, we would have LOVED to take part in one of the many beverages displayed. Looks like a great Tap/Wine collection. We had the open-faced Salmon Sandwhich which was quite nice. Can't complain though personally, I thought it was odd that the most remarkable part of the dish was the toast with the aioli that was the base of the Salmon. It tasted good. I wish I could say more. The salmon dolloped with a lite tomato pico didn't do anything incredible for either of us. The salad was fine. I wish I could be more WOW-ed. If I was to make any recommendation to potential guests, I would suggest to 1) get an adult beverage! 2) plan to take advantage of the bocce or the bowling for the entertainment. The restaurant just seems a little confused. Go for the entertainment/catering of a large group. Don't go for the food because I don't know that it could stand alone if the bar and games were not present. That said, I would come back and would definitely recommend trying a different option before deciding whether to return again. It's definitely a pillar in the community though perhaps of a different time/chef. My recommendation to them would be to continue to push the envelope. Perhaps the SLP/Edina crew has made it easy on them to coast on their location and reputation of old. And a minor comment but something to consider, the shirts of the gentlemen who work with guests are a gorgeous color and create a nice mood. I really love this place. Good food- pretty much straight up Simple dishes and all tasty. I recommend the Gelato- the mint chocolate was excellent. The service is always prompt and friendly. Honestly some places in Edina have an attitude, coming from the cities I see none of that here. Small gripe on on food, no steak sauce! Yes, I know steakhouses often don't have it, but this is NOT a steakhouse. You are not that fancy, get yourself some A1 guys! You can of course order something else, or bring your own. Games and facilities in general : most glam bowling lanes in the metro, love the couches and tables. Bocci Ball is nice too and cheaper. They offer blankets and a fire area on the the deck and a great view of Centennial Lakes park, where you can also play mini golf. Try this place! We both eat vegetarian food outside and we're very pleasantly surprised by the tasty, abundant and creative dishes we ate ! I literally created an account to ensure this establishment receives the recognition it deserves. I dined at Pinstripes in Edina with my 7 year old this evening and indulged in their house-made ricotta gnocchi. Easily, one of the BEST dishes I've had in quite some time. To the hostess, server (Garrett) and gentleman that cleared our plates, thank you! The service was impeccable. Given the circumstances, I felt 'safe' dining here. They supply sanitizer, are mindful of social distancing and ask that folks mask up when through eating. Had an employee party here and they were very accommodating! We booked a reservation last minute without any issues, our server was attentive, the food was delicious, and the ambience was upbeat and energetic! I brought my 1 year old son with, who was a bit crabby, and our server was helpful and made sure that I was taken care of. Most servers these days run the other way when young children are involved! A lot of the positive reviews here are just about the food. That really is their strength. I went bowling here, and the experience had its ups and downs. First off, the price is $15 per person, per hour. Leave your friends at home! The only way to justify this price is to go alone. Otherwise, you're paying exponentially more to sit around. We had three people over two hours and so we paid $90 to bowl what turned out to be two games each. That price compares unfavorably to any other alley in the Cities. The alley has couches facing each other with a table in between, and there is not enough space to walk past your friends and actually take your turn without everyone else having to stand up and get out of the way. The table in between is unneccessary, because there are generous side tables on each side of the couches and there are also tables near the back where you can eat well out of the way of the bowling, When I got there, we were the only people in the alley. The next group was given the alley right next to ours, thus taking away our temporary solution of walking around the table. One more thing, and this is not part of the rating because I don't think this was their choice. You have to take the elevator out of the parking ramp, go outside, and wrap around to the other side of the building. Why can't there be a door on the inside? If you're on P1, when you enter the elevator you can see a large glass window. If that window was a door, it would save a lot of time because on the other side of that window is Pinstripes' balcony. read more

I don't like writing a bad review since times are hard for restaurants and their workers, but customers deserve good treatment. 1) I called to order pick-up and was told I could pay cash which I prefer. After placing the order another employee said no cash. Not a big deal but get your procedures straight with all employees. 2) My order came with the most pathetic side of mac and cheese you're ever seen. Had about 18 noodles without enough cheese to interest a mouse. Why skimp on a side dish that's so cheap and easy for the kitchen to make? Called them about this but got a ho-hum attitude. I've hosted several large corporate events at Pinstripes and my last experience there was such a nightmare that I won't host any more events there. First, as others have pointed out Pinstripes is expensive and there are far better places to drop a bunch of money if you're looking for a nice meal out. Yes, the service is snotty, you're in Edina and they know it. However, for corporate events, convenience and execution are far more important than cost, and Pinstripes had been a good spot. The food was consistently good (nothing inspired but I would still call it above average) and with groups of 25-50 people I've been impressed with the service. But at the last event they completely messed up our bill, to the tune of over $1,000! We were hosting a private dinner of about 30 people. What they didn't tell me was that there would be another private party in the next room, and they didn't have any way to keep the groups' bar tabs separate! Our final bill included dozens of mixed drinks that we hadn't ordered--our group only ordered beer, and we had preordered bottles of wine on the table. By their math each person in our group would have had to have 4-5 drinks in addition to the wine on the table, which just wasn't the case at this early evening, weeknight, work-related event (and we were only at the bar for an hour before sitting down to dinner.) There were even 39 sodas on the bill--for 30 people, riddle me that. Here's the kicker--when I raised the issue with the hostess, she agreed with me that our bill didn't make sense and she assured me that they would make it right. But when the issue was elevated up to the manager and eventually to the owner, they refused to credit us for the drinks in question. The manager even told me that the reason they wouldn't was because they didn't want to go back to the other group to get them to pay! (As if it was their fault that Pinstripes couldn't keep the bar tabs straight. I couldn't believe they would have even considered doing that.) After many weeks of back and forth (with them ignoring many of my calls) they finally agreed to credit us $500--far less than the $1200 in question and less than 10% of the final bill. I was appalled at how they treated us, particularly knowing how much money we spend there. I will not be hosting any more events at Pinstripes. read more

Not sure about this place. Had dinner reservations for 6 people at 7pm on a Monday night. Got there in plenty of time, and had to wait till 730 to be seated, only after having reminding the hostess twice that we were there as others who came in after us were seated sooner They offer a all you can eat spaghetti with meatballs and chopped salad for $10 a person on Mondays, which was a good deal. While waiting to be seated, we ordered drinks in the bar, Peroni and Blue Moon's. When we ordered the same thing during our dinner, we were told the had ran out. OK it happens, but when we were bowling, they had it again. WTF? Dinner service was mixed. Food items came out of order and not enough plates etc were provided. We had to ask over and over again for the additional plates, silverware etc. One nice touch is that they comped the table desert. The quality of the food was OK, nothing special. I can not imagine what the experience would be like on a busy night Bowling was fun, but expensive. $70 for a group of 6, for just 1 game and shoes is crazy. Our family went there. The waitress was slow and not very attentive despite the venue being not very busy on a sunny Memorial Day Monday lunchtime. I ordered the "bottomless soup and garden salad," which sounds like it would mean as much as you can eat. Not only did we wait a long time for our food, but the salad and soup were relatively small. That wouldn't be a problem I thought, as I could just order more. The waitress had to be flagged down since she didn't voluntarily visit our table again. By then , half the table was already done with their food. She said she put an order in for it when we asked here where it was while she was asking everyone if they wanted desert. After everyone at the table was already done eating and we were trying to pay, finally the refreshed soup and salad came after they already cleared my silverware. I then had to ask them for more silverware several times because the bus persons didn't speak English. Unlimited soup and salad, if you ever get it and haven't become fed up from the wait or want to eat after your party has already all finished. We tried to pay with gift cards and the waitress finally decided to stop back to tell us 15 minutes later that they apologize it is taking so long but the gift card system is down and they had to manually do something. She then informed us we can't tip on the gift card, even if there is money there. 30 minutes later my senior father started to get upset and went in to ask what was taking so long, at which time the manager stopped by the table with the receipt. Took a group of 12 here for a Company Christmas outing. Like many prior reviews mention, the venue is impressive- cozy fire outside, large open space, great concept. That was the good part, the only good part. The service was sub-par, in the bar and the restaurant. Our waitress in the bowling alley was extremely timid, and barely there. The food was terrible. I ordered a Fillet Mignon ($34) I was surprised to receive a piece of meat (not a fillet in any way) cut into three slices. WHAT? I ordered it Med rare, it was Medium plus+ . The herb mashed potatoes were so overdone with stale dry herbs and salt I could only eat one bite. There was a wedge of what seemed to me to be Cinnamon french toast in the middle of the plate, next to three tiny sticks of undercooked asparagus tied up by a leek, which was the main vegetable. Had we not been entertaining a group, I would have (and should have) sent it back. We had desert in the bowling area - pretty much had to tackle the waitress to get a desert menu. I had the flour less chocolate cake, which was still frozen upon delivery. After the party was over, the timid waitress sent a manager out with our bill. Although we had paid a $100 advance deposit for the bowling, and been told we had to spend $200 while bowling (which was hard to do while having to chase down the waitress) even though our tab came to $250+, they said we still had to spend more $$ to complete our obligation- that we were to spend $100 per lane and that the deposit did not count towards the total. They offered to box up some wine at menu price, or something else to help us get to that total. We explained the our misunderstanding, and that we had spent well of $600 in the restaurant- the manager closed out our check, but let us know we would be hearing from the Events Manager, to get the final balance cleared up. The decor, ambiance and set-up of Pinstripes is some of the best I've seen. Come hungry and bored, you will most definitely leave full of outstanding food and have a great time. The varied options of seating and entertainment make each visit to Pinstripes brand new. Love the stone and wood decor. The outdoor patio with an extremely large fire pit (read: 12+ people) and heaters increases the size of the space year-round. The view of Centennial lakes and great sunsets, valet parking and an easy access location round off the key points of Pinstripes eminent success. Bowling, Bocce & Bistro? Yes....but beware of the below average service. My work group decided to make Pinstripes our home one Wednesday afternoon to do a little lunch and team bonding. While I was excited to give this triple threat a try, I was quickly disappointed from the service in all three areas of this location. If you're looking for a great place for a team outing I suggest going elsewhere until their staff takes a few lessons on being friendly and welcoming. Bistro: Food was what you'd expect from the chain-like restaurant. Pizza, burgers, sandwiches and more. Most of the plates we got were done up Cheesecake Factory style with lots of pizazz, but not a lot of flavor. The best option at this bistro are the handmade flatbread pizzas. Stick with that and you'll be sure to enjoy a great lunch/dinner. Service was a bit disappointed. A normal 45 minute lunch for a group of 12 of us took almost and hour and half - 25 minutes just waiting to order food. Bocce & Bowling: The women running the front counter were down right rude and a bit obnoxious at times. Our group had reservations, but we were constantly being told we had to hurry up because we only had so much time available - even though there were no groups in sight looking to use our courts/lanes. The only standout part of the bocce and bowling experience was the better than average service we got from the wait staff in these areas. At first glance, Pinstripes feels like a place where cougars are on the prowl or quasi-hipsters who make a decent salary might congregate. I honestly believe it's a place for the masses though. Buckle up, this review might get long-winded. Cocktail prices are stupidly expensive. Pints of beer are 6,7,8 bucks easy. Ok, fine. They have a few decent ones on tap (decent by my taste being Surly, Fat Tire, Fulton). The bar service is friendly and fairly quick. My dining experience was terrific. We had a medium sized (7 people) group with a couple of THOSE people who are a little... demanding? We're talking about the nicest people in the world here, but somebody who sleeps next to me every night (who shall remain nameless) just had to have some blue cheese stuffed olives. Oh, she got them. Our server was quick, patient, and knowledgeable. Wish I could remember his name so I could give him a shout out. He deserves recognition. The food is wonderful for modest prices. I've had many things over the last couple of years and I can strongly recommend to you the braised short ribs. If you're a vegetarian, stop reading. I don't like you. Just kidding. Mostly. But they do have some great spinach ravioli. So there's that. Portions are okay, I certainly didn't leave hungry. I've bowled there. Feels like I'm bowling in some millionaire's basement. Or what I'd imagine it to be like. Comfy couches, clean lanes, and FREE SOCKS. They are too small for my big ass feet, but hey - free socks. The bocce courts are a cool idea, but SO limited. Maybe if I were more drunk I would've enjoyed it more, but they are basically 50 feet long and maybe 4-5 feet wide. A backyard this is not. I suppose it's functional enough though. The location is great, right off of the GORGEOUS Centennial Lakes Park. Giant bonfire pits outside are a really nice touch. There are blankets available, too... but something about that creeps me out. I am new to town and figured to try this place with a friend. I made reservations and we came at the right time. We first got some drinks and appetizers once our bocce ball or lawn-bowling lane was ready. Then, we played 3-4 games which was alot of fun. The dining area became pretty busy fast and couldn't get a table after our game. So, we ended up eating flatbread pizza at the bar. Pretty good place to hang out although a bit on the pricey side. Still, if you just come here once in a while, it is worth it. Being from St. Paul, it is a bit further south near MoA and Edina. If you are from out of town - think "classy Applebees" meets "clean bowling alley" with a side of bocce ball and a bonfire pit. The area is great for a winter night out - Centennial Lakes has outdoor ice skating...but as of the date I'm writing, the ice is too thin. Plus you have Five Guys and this place all in one location. First, the place is giant. But, with giant comes generic. The bowling alley and boche ball court are unique but it still feels like shopping mall. The hostess staff were very lovely, but not very informative. In fact, the whole staff seemed to have walked off a Abercrombie ad. It was a little unnerving. There were only a hand full of bowling lanes. I was expecting a lot more based on the size of the building. Then they tried to put all 8 of us on one lane. WHAT?? They quickly moved us over to two lanes after I put up a slight stink. I liked the leather sofas. The food was impressive. I was expecting nachos and buffalo wings, but their menu was varied, and the presentation was outstanding. Fish, pastas, flatbread pizzas, steak, - everyone at the table liked what they ordered. We did have something weird happen - our friend was having a cocktail in a low ball glass with a thick, heavy bottom. Suddenly the bottom of the glass just came crashing onto his plate. It startled everyone. He was shocked and embarrassed. We had to flag someone down for help. (can't believe the wait stand was 6 feet away and they didn't notice). They looked as if they didn't believe how it happened and didn't even offer him a free drink. Actually, with the amount of glass that went everywhere and the fact that someone could have been hurt - he should have been offered to have his meal comped. At least a visit from management. We never saw a manager-type the whole night. I felt the wait and hostess staff were very young and could have used some experienced leadership. It seemed like kids running the show - and they were in a little over their heads. Finally, the cheesy live lounge music was extremely dorky. Kenny G? Really? After I ordered, the waiter came back and informed me that no salmon was available. Nor was anything with tuna in it available as they were out of that as well. There are a million hostess desks, but no signs to indicate what each one is for, I wandered around like a lost puppy for quite some time. Even though I was only getting take out, I had to wait at the bar for fifteen. I wasn't offered anything and was ignored by every bartender. Final straw was that every dish we got that night was gross. Major let down, and overpriced at that. The only reason I might consider going back is for $1 bowling after 9pm. The first time I came here was for a yelp event which was excellent, but in all fairness I am not including that in this review since I reviewed the event separately. I've been here a few other times and always leave a little disappointed. Walking in, I always have high hopes; I mean come on, the place is pretty nice. An upscale bowling section, nice bocce ball courts, tons of places to lounge around including a large patio overlooking Centennial Lakes and fire pit. It fits well with the Every Day I Need Attention folks. The areas that always disappoint me are price and food. Bowling can get expensive. I think we paid close to $40 for two games of bowling for the two of us. If I recall, bocce is even more expensive but you don't have to rent shoes so maybe it's about the same. The food is "Meh". The menu is ambitious and looks pretty good but the execution is poor. On our last visit we ordered the Ahi tuna salad, mussels, and the shrimp, spinach and tomato flatbread. Let's start with the salad. The portion was pretty small. I get it, it's a salad and should be healthy, but a $13 salad should have more than a tong-ful of greens and a few slices of seared tuna. Not only was it small, it wasn't very good. The salad portion was really salty. There were large crystals of sea salt all over the greens. Not even the lemon caper dressing could combat that. The tuna was not fresh. It was seared nicely but the dark, dull, dried out center was not appealing. The mussels were a bit strange. They were on a bed of polenta which was smothered in some sort of red, oily broth, then all topped with croutons. The broth was too heavy for mussels and the polenta was just a slop of cornmeal. The best dish was the flatbread. The shrimp wasn't the freshest but the crust was delicious and the tomatos were good. I will never willfully choose to walk into this place again. My friend chose this place for her birthday gathering, bringing in about 12-15 people. She chose Pinstripes because it's a new venue, and although Edina doesn't allow Happy Hour Drink Specials, a "Late Night Bites" menu is advertised on its website (http://www.pinstripes.com/late.html). Unfortunately, when we inquired about this menu we were first told it didn't exist, and after showing the waitress the website on a smart phone, were told that it was a "concept they were considering in the future." Seriously, that was the response we were given! We were told that the menu advertised on the Pinstripes.com website was an idea they were considering but had not implemented, and were expected to accept that as a legitimate answer. What's even more irritating is that the waitress was straight-up rude about it. Aside from our frustration with the happy hour menu issue, both of our bowling lanes broke down toward the end of the night, and we were shuffled to two different lanes at different times in the middle of our games. The idea of an upscale bowling alley is kinda cool, and the $6 drinks were to be expected. However, this place is a joke, and I would never consider returning unless it was for a work or birthday party, and I would put forth a lot of effort to get the organizer to reconsider in advance. read more

$1 weeknight bowling after 9pm is a great deal! But we checked in at 8:50, and nobody mentioned this significant price difference, so we were charged full price. I may be wrong, but most establishments I've been to mention these time-based discounts (I.e. Happy Hour) and most patrons will wait 10 minutes to take advantage of the price break. We inquired about it after our game started, and were told that there was nothing the manager could do. The woman who rang us up said she was unaware of such a promotion and therefore could not have possibly told us that it was coming up. We did briefly ask to speak with the manager who offered us 15 additional minutes on our time so that we could (probably) finish our game. But when we asked to extend by 20 minutes he said he would have to charge us for that time. Was there as part of a work outing. Played bocce, went bowling, drinks and food. Bar service was great. There on a Friday afternoon from about 1-4pm. Good beers on tap, good wines on the list. We ordered some apps and pizzas, and all were really good. Servers were all nice and prompt. No complaints. Physical setup was also very cool. We were upstairs for games, and loved the views and setup. Comfortable chairs, good viewing, great couches. Loved the second floor patios with bonfire pits, chairs and blankets. Great for chilling outside next to a fire in January, but still in the city. Will certainly be back during the day with kids for ice skating on the pond, then bowling and lunch/early dinner. I've been to Pinstripes on several occasions - a few times for corporate bowling / food and a couple of times for the restaurant. I stay at a hotel down the street so convenience is key and it's a nice change from the other restaurants in a 2 mile radius from the hotel... Before you go try to enjoy your slightly decent, likely luke warm dinner, know this - the service sucks. It sucked last time I was there and I assumed it was new kid, new menu, new something...Tonight it still sucked and now there's a pattern and it's annoying because it's not that cheap, the atmosphere is decent and I really think the standards should be higher. I went back for dinner tonight with a group and the first three of us to arrive ordered drinks and appetizers right when we sat down. We also asked for fresh bread. We got our drinks very slowly (3 iced teas, not rocket science) and repeatedly had to ask for bread before the apps came. I guess the "we're hungry!" response to "how's it going?" when we sat down didn't ring a bell for the server. The hummus platter was yummy, but the meal and service went downhill for the rest of the night. My friend's chicken was cold, he sent it back, the pasta came back steaming hot and the chicken came back room temperature. Another friend and I ordered a pizza to share and 2 of our other friends were sharing pasta and salad. It didn't occur to the waitress to bring plates, so even after asking for them, we gave up and got them for ourselves from a nearby table. We sat with empty water / iced tea / wine glasses for an unacceptable amount of time. The server repeatedly came by but didn't notice until being asked for a refill. I don't appreciate the lackadaisical waitressing style, but if you do, Pinstripes might be your place! Maybe you could even work there!! The food isn't terrible (especially if you like room temperature chicken on your pasta :)), but it's not that great, either. I have enjoyed the few corporate events that I've been to at Pinstripes, but the restaurant either needs to hire more senior wait staff or train them better - they're quite bad. read more

Pros: One stop shop for nice location, lots of parking, great atmosphere, friendly service, big variety of good food, and fun activities (bowling, bocce, and drinking/hanging around a fire pit). The place is fantastic for large groups. Have to say again, the atmosphere is really nice. It's upscale casual and modern; lots of space to move around and chat with strangers; and it's family friendly. Cons: Expensive. Individually, the food, bowling, and bocce are super pricey for what you get. Recommendation: To make this place a deal which it really can be, go at it as a group event. The cost is significantly reduced when you rent out an entire lane for the night and have them cater an event. read more

Once again, I am over the top pleased with the service, food and ambience at the Pinstripes location in Edina! Yesterday evening my girlfriend and I celebrated her 60th birthday there. Whenever I come here, I get their spaghetti and meatballs for about $20 and it is delicious and definetly worth the price. You get like 3 or 4 giant tasty meatballs with perfectly cooked noodles. Everything is always so perfectly cooked and I cant wait to go there next time. Staff was very nice and friendly. read more

I have been to Pinstripes 4 times for different corporate events. I would have thought that a bar that calls itself Pinstripes would have a better sports focus. I tried to come here one other time to watch a football game and found out they only have a few TVs in the bar and they do not subscribe to the NFL package - interesting?!? However, our groups have had the whole second floor to ourselves all 4 times we have visited. Pinstripes does have a very nice private room to gather and eat. However, the bar in the pre-function space is poorly placed and gets clogged with people trying to visit the bar, go in and out of the meeting room, go to the bathrooms, and to the upstairs bowling alleys. The food is average. Our groups have had the pizza and salad buffet each time. While the pizza does have some interesting flavors and they offer veggie and gluten free options, it has been cold and just thrown on a large marble slab each time I have come. It is thin-crust brick oven style pizza, but I don't think it is designed to be served cold. The bowling alleys are average with no real groove. The bowling shoes are stacked on a folding table like you are at a church yard sale and the selection of bowling balls is limited. All in all, Pinstripes has the facilities to host a large party of up to 200 people. I can think of worse corporate events that I have been to, but come here with very low expectations and you won't be disappointed. read more
