Came here to eat and play mini golf with some work friends and we had an absolute blast!! We started in the restaurant area! All of us enjoyed our food and beverages! I got the shrimp and corn bread and fried kale. I've never had fried kale but it was SO good! My boyfriend got a burger and said it wasn't life changing, but it was definitely a solid burger. The waitress informed us that the menu would be changing soon! Looking forward to seeing what other delicious options they can come up with! I will say, I tried the crab dip and it just tasted too fishy... and I love seafood! The food here overall surprised us though, we definitely thought it wasn't going to be that great for a mini golf place! We were wrong! As for golfing here, WHAT A BLAST! We did all 4 courses! That took us about 2 hours during a time where it was not busy. The great news about this place is you do not need to play the holes in order! Heck, the people in your party don't have to play in order either! So if someone is in the bathroom, just keep going! Everyone is assigned a ball and the ball keeps track of your score! This place is beautiful! It is well maintained! The service here was decent. No one seemed to be going out of their way and they all just looked bored...may be because it was a slow night? I came here last week for a work event. Never been before, but the vibe is similar to what I have seen in other cities where bowling is combined with booze and food. It is modern and spacious inside, plenty of room for large groups or parties. It seemed to be the theme as there were several corporate parties going on. We started with an appetizer buffet - nothing outstanding, but all the usual pub appetizers were pretty good. None of us left hungry. Our server got our drinks out quickly and she was friendly as well. At a certain point, she ushered us over to one of the putting areas and gave us the lowdown on what to do, etc. It was nice that our server was the same person leading us into the putting area - no weird "where do we go, I don't know, let's ask someone" stuff. Who would have thought mini golf would be one of those things that could be improved by tech, but chains like Puttshack have showed that can be the case with their interactive mini golf that keeps track of your score and gives you some extra fun at each hole with interactive elements. When it is busy (as it was when we visited) it can be a bit loud and chaotic - but that only toned down the fun slightly. Might recommend visiting during an off time to avoid that. read more

I came here with a group of friends for a weekend night out. The place was packed with a private event and the atmosphere was electric. We started the evening with some late snacks and drinks. I ordered the Hennessy Island which was INCREDIBLE and my friends who ordered food said that it was delicious and it came out in a very timely manner and tasted good as well. We selected this venue to experience the mini golf and that's where our experience exponentially went south. We went with the 9-hole course option and were assigned the Amber section of the facility. The staff member who was running that station was overly sarcastic (made condescending comments), interfered with our play by rolling the ball into the hole with their hand, and occasionally misled us on where to aim the ball during the shots. I've never played mini golf like this - they provide you a ball that is linked to your profile. The ball automatically counts your strokes and gives you your score for each spot which is super fun! The 9 holes went relatively fast so if you're looking for a longer experience I'd do 18 and/or add on some time for food. I like it! This is an indoor minature golf complex with a bar and very respectable dining menu. But this a neat, fun take on miniature golf that is only possible with 21st century technology. The golf balls are programmed to know who you are, how many shots you've taken and where, and what it took to get your ball in the hole. It keeps score for you and there are advanced scoring opportunities, so you don't just think about how many strokes per hole. You get bonus points for landing a ball in certain places, and those bonuses vary throughout the course. There are four 9-hole courses, and the regular charge is $14 per person for the first course and another $7 for another round. Pricey compared to traditional minigolf but the fancy tech totally elevates the experience so I think it's worth it. We hung out in the dining area afterwards and had a couple of the shareables. There are actually quite a few items on the menu I want to try, like bao buns, gyro sliders, and spring rolls which are apparently "wild rice soup inspired". But we got Thai Fried Chicken Bites, which I liked a lot, and edamame which had a flavor I liked but there wasn't enough of it. They have a patio area! And another section that is maybe reserveable? We reserved our minigolf time in advance and that worked great. I highly recommend doing it that way but you can show up unannounced and plug in a new golf reservation at the kiosks. No living person helps you until you arrive at the beginning of your assigned course. This seems like it would be a very fun place to have workplace team-building events. Fun date idea too! Also, honestly, if I am doing other things at Southdale (which is an extreme rarity but things might change I guess...) I would seriously consider just coming in for some of this food. Okay so yes, it's fun once you're golfing. I made the error (?) of reserving ahead of time online via mobile. It seemed really functional and decent UNTIL I put in my credit card info and confirmed I wanted to reserve. Then it booked me for my tee off time, but refused to book me for my dining time. It legit took me to a screen that said it was "taking a long time" and gave me the option to wait... which I probably pressed ten times before giving up. (Which was the only other option besides cancelling the entire thing altogether and waiting TEN BUSINESS DAYS for a refund. Are you serious??) So anyway, it told me to contact guest services to fix the issue so we'd have a table. Maybe I wouldn't've been so fussed if we weren't aiming for Saturday night. So I called their number. It's a really worthless automated tree that instructs you that you must do everything online. Wow. Super useful. I did finally find my way to talk to a person... except the first time they let it ring to voicemail. The second time, an employee picked up but for whatever inane reason, didn't reserve me a table but rather said "there'd be no problem" and to simply "stop by the front desk when we arrived". Dubiously, I accepted this. Right so we got there and did as instructed. They also didn't put us down for a reservation and simply said to come back after we finished golfing and they'd "get us a table, no problem". We golfed (as I said, it was genuinely fun!), then returned and were told it would be a 30-45 minute wait. So I guess it wasn't "no problem". That's THREE times we attempted to reserve according to Puttshack's instructions; yet, in the end, this was how it went. My friend (an older white woman) went kinda apeshit on them-- which, I feel a bit awkward about since that's the stereotype and we didn't wanna make a scene-- so then they decided to seat us. The thing is, I feel like I would've given a 5-star review had it not been for this whole (avoidable) situation. Why stress us out like that? The golf was fun, the drinks and food were tasty (slightly pricey), bathrooms were clean, ambiance was posh. They even had a few nonalcoholic mocktails (great for my sober hubbie). Ah well. We pre registered for nine holes on Easter Sunday afternoon. We were early and were able to tee off ahead of time. Checkin was easy. They have a coat check when you enter so you don't have to lug your coat around if you don't want to. It was a slower day compared to normal (likely because of the holiday) so it was a relaxed round. All scorekeeping is digital. Your ball is recognized by the system. The holes were challenging and visibly pleasing and fun. We had so much fun on our nine holes that we decided to play another nine on another course. They had shut down the course we wanted due to a smaller crowd but they opened it up again so we could play. That says a lot about their helpful, friendly staff. We didn't do drinks or food but there were many others participating in that part. Maybe another time. Not sure how long it's been open but all the holes looked brand new. ADVICE: make sure to make a reservation ahead of time! We made a reservation at noon on a Saturday and we heard others get turned away because they didn't have openings until 10pm. This is such a fun place! You go to a machine and add the names of all of the people you are playing with and the machines issues a specific golf ball for each person. It's great because you can do the holes in any order you want, which prevents bottlenecks. It's also great that the ball keeps score for you, no need to carry around a score card and pencil! I love mini golf so I had to try this spot out. Its in the South Dale mall so plenty of parking. You can see all the lights from the parking lot, so easy to find. Walked in at 8pm and they closed at 10pm. People were gathering their coats at coat check so me and my date waited to check ours in and the guy said he was no longer doing coat check. Mind you, were in Minnesota during winter, we both had on big coats lol. This was my first time there, he did walk us upstairs and help us check in. Pretty easy process. There's 4 courses, we walked up to a few and no one was working to actually get us started so we had to walk back to the guy from coat check to help us get started on the course. Once we started playing, the course was super fun and like no other mini golf I'd played. Its a point system not just based on hits and each hole had different objectives to get points. Great experience playing for sure. We didn't try any food or drinks since we already had dinner, maybe next time. I would have loved to give this place 5 stars cause I think the course was super fun, but from having to wear our coats through the course, the confusion on even getting started to play, that definitely made the experience less than. The pricing per course isn't terrible, but if you want to play a few, it adds up. I will definitely go during the week when they have discounts. We had SO MUCH FUN! What a great idea for a fun new activity! It is actually surprisingly affordable despite it definitely being a more upscale mini golf venue. The courses are short and sweet but incredibly unique and fun! The majority of the space at Puttshack is for the restaurant and bar. The food and the drinks were delicious and the atmosphere was awesome. Sometimes the courses can get a little backed up if you are in front of a slower group, but I still absolutely recommend it. It is pretty expensive to play 9 holes- go M- Th for Bogo deals. 9 holes takes about 30 minutes- $15 for short play time. The food and service was very average- nothing really stood out there. The brussel sprouts were too dry with very hot peppers. The bar area is large with some fun mocktail options. They have a large parking lot. Great for a corporate team building fun on a sleepy Friday afternoon. Our group of 8 felt like we had the place to ourselves and we all had a good time playing two rounds of mini golf and sharing a bunch of appetizers with our delicious drinks. Mini-Golf (4/5) there are 4 different 9-hole courses: ruby, emerald, amber and sapphire. Each has some uniquely fun holes, and I was sad that we could not choose which courses we wanted. But the game play was so fun and we loved the technology that allows us to not keep scores manually. Food and Drink (3/5) we didn't come for the food but a few of the appetizers were delicious - I highly recommend the pork Bao Buns and the non-alcoholic cotton candy drink. Avoid the Minnesota Tailpipes and coffee. Ambiance (4/5) modern and fun. It feels a bit like a night club inside. Plenty of space in the restaurant and bar area. Reservations (4/5) reservations were easy and just took a quick call. However, we had to pay for 11 people since 3 of us had to cancel last minute. They didn't allow for refunds, but gave us cards for a free game for a later date to make up for it. Coat Check (3/5) nice that this was an option and we liked that the technology reduced the waiting time for returning our costs. But honestly... just leave your coats in your car. We went for golf on a saturday around noon. We did not book ahead of time so we had about a 10 minute wait. There was what looked like a teenage girls soccer team there, so I can't speak to if that is normal or not. While we waited we each got a drink to sip on while we played. They are definitely overpriced for their food and drinks which is a bummer. Once it was our time to golf, a attendant met us at the start and ran through how it works. The ball has a chip or something in it, so it gets assigned to you and when you put it on the starting marker it registers as the owners ball and keeps track of how many strokes you take, so no need to keep count on your own. The golf is a bit different since there are also obstacles you want to avoid or you get penalties and obstacles you want to hit and you get bonus points. We loved the course, it was fun and unique. We definitely plan on coming back to golf, just wish the food and drink was more reasonably priced. read more

Please note if you're booking your time slot/date, you will need to make a payment online to secure it. All players will need to register. Info needed to register are your first and last name, email address, phone number, and birth date. Once all info entered and payment done, you'll receive an email and text confirmation. Recently opened and It's located at Southdale Mall. Adjacent and above Kowalskis Market. Plenty of feee shared parking spaces. Not accessible through the mall. Must enter in front where Kowalskis side is located. Once arrived, you'll walk upstairs to the third floor. Before you do, I believe there's a coat check in. Once upstairs, the check in desk is on your left side. I was greeted right away and they answered my questions as it was my first time there. Staff were super fast and friendly. I was quickly seated thereafter. Once seated, I was waiting for a friend to arrive still but was quickly greeted by our server Devin. He brought our waters right away and put in my order for a Porn Star Martini (which I said it's been a long week at work). Haha. It contains Absolute Vanilla Vodka, Passoa Passion Fruit Liqueur, vanilla syrup, lime juice, smoke-filled side of Sofia Sparkling Brute Rose. We were seated near the kitchen. I was able to see some kitchen action going on in the background which was cool. My friend arrived shortly after and we ordered, the Cali Chicken Wrap with garlic fries. Korean BBQ Bao Buns and Greek Gyro Sliders. Our server kept checking up on us to see how we doing. My formed mentioned she was super hungry and he came back to notified our order was up for completion and be out soon. Meanwhile my Porn Star Martini smoke pouring presentation was cool and it tasted sweet! Woohoo! Our food arrived and all looked and tasted delicious! The only thing I would like more would be more chicken added to the wrap. But otherwise super yummy. Our tee time was nearing and my friend had an emergency and we had to leave earlier than expected. What a fun place for a date night! My husband and I went to Puttshack on a freezing cold Saturday afternoon. Despite the cold, it was busy. Puttshack shares a parking lot with Kowalski's Market. When you arrive, you can check in your coat for free. The staff will get your name and phone. You will receive a text message of your coat hanger's number. CHECKING IN: When you ascend the stairs, to your left I are host/hostess for dining in. To your right are kiosks to check in for your tee time. Don't worry if you don't have a tee time reserved, it will put you at the next available time. There's a few kiosks so you don't wait long. There is a staff member at the kiosk to help. The kiosk will tell you which course you will be going to: emerald, ruby, sapphire, and amber. (I don't know if you get to pick or not. It was auto assigned to us.) MINI-GOLF: When you arrive at your course, there is a screen. You'll check in, get your ball, and putter. There are 3 different size putter. There is a staff to help you. They'll explain rules and such if it is your first time. Since the first hole was backed up, we were told that we can start at a different hole and come back. On a Saturday afternoon, there were multiple big group of families... like 6-8 people! The computer will keep track if you skip the first hole. It's very fun, interactive, and competitive. They have these super tube where if your ball lands in it, it's basically hole in one. You do lose points if you go in the hazards. They have a hole that ask true/false trivia about Minnesota. FOOD & DRINKS: We didn't eat there. I did stop at the bar for a glass of Coke, which I could take with me onto the golf course. PRICE/VALUE: I think $15/course per adult is a lot. I could go somewhere else that has 3 courses for unlimited mini-golf. But if I were to come back with friends, I'd be down to play at Puttshack. read more

However, we weren't able to try anything due to deliberately being ignored by the staff. Lot to unwrap here. First being this is connected to the mall, not in the mall. The parking is abundant. However, if you're assuming this is on the third floor of the mall and park on the north side expecting an entrance you're going to be disappointed. It's connected to the mall but there are no entrances, and absolutely no signs in the mall indicating where this place is. The mini golf is fun. It registers your ball and there's no reason to keep score because if the technology works, it does it for you. However expect to pay the same price as 9 holes at an actual golf course. Inside, nicely lit, modern decorations. It's larger than you would expect. Offers several different 9 hole courses with similar but not same holes. Seating is kind of at a premium for the bar and grill. The bar and grill were, what you would expect. Decent food, decent beverages. Not a lot on tap but it has a full service bar. The food is slightly above what you'd expect. Poutine was okay, and I'm not really sure what part of this flatbread is considered flat but it's definitely a pizza crust. Tasted good, but definitely a pillsbury crust. The real kicker here is the service which maybe unfairly reviewed based on one experience, but here goes. They were over matched. Idk if it was because it was a Saturday or what, but even getting a drink at the walk up part of the bar was literally a 20 minute wait or more, I couldn't tell the exact time, because I walked away before I was served. The staff were nice, but we waited for a long, long time before even being offered waters. The food came out just as we were getting our first round of drinks, which, in case you were curious was shortly after our waters arrived. We had reservations for food, but we definitely talked about leaving after 15/20 minutes since we hadn't seen a staff of any sort. My wife and I enjoyed our visit here! I think it's worth noting that this place is geared much more for adults than kids, and personally I thought their food options were a bit limited, but everything that we tried tasted really good! We noticed several technical glitches ranging from the booking system, to ball detection issues. They're still new though, and they seem to be working hard to iron those out. The staff were all very polite and assertive, and they even let us start our round of Mini Golf early since we got done eating sooner than expected. The ambiance was fun, but certainly felt more like a bar than anything. We really enjoyed it, but like I intro'd with, I personally wouldn't bring kids here. The food and drinks were delicious! You're certainly encouraged to putt with drinks as well, and can even order drinks using a QR code at each hole. The QR code is placed on a small table where you can set your drinks while you putt. I thought this was a nice touch! I would certainly recommend this place for a date night, or a group of young adults. Puttshack is such a fun place! I love the vibe, service, and all the food we had. You register all players online in advance or at the screen in person. The system chooses the area you'll play for you, and each has some different themed holes. Some highlights of the 9 holes in the "Ruby" area were the air hockey, beer pong, and skee ball style holes. The scoring is not typical mini golf scoring, which was explained to us in advance. Higher scores are good here! There are bonuses at the different holes, too. We were told that while you can't choose what area you get, if you get assigned one you've played before, you can request a different area. Now for the food! This is what we tried: -Atlanta Hot Sandwich -Cali Chicken Wrap (I didn't personally try this one but supposedly it was good!) -Sweet Heat Shrimp Skewers -Mediterranean Lamb Skewers Everything tasted delicious! The shrimp was cooked and seasoned perfectly, the lamb skewers came in a pita with a tasty peri-peri sauce, and the atlanta hot sandwich had awesome flavor and a spicy kick. We had a change in plans and ended up here. This place was on my list to check out and had a great time. Reservations recommended for the mini golf, you can do that online otherwise walk in and there's a kiosk to add your name for play time. They have 4 different courses, 2 in the back, 1 near the entrance, and 1 behind the dining area. Once your reservation is approaching, the computer will text you to check in. We were placed at the very busy course and I had to asked for a different course in the back because nobody was there. The guys were super nice and switched us. It's a vibe here, lots of family and youngsters. Huge 360 bar in the middle and patio also available. There's also a bar room on the otherside, I thought it might be for special occasion since it was empty. Food was interesting, we tried this eggroll filled with chicken wild rice. I'd say it's well worth the price, especially if you go with a group of friends--though I'd recommend smaller groups to keep things moving smoothly. Pro tip: Make a reservation in advance--it gets packed quickly, and walk-ins might have a hard time getting in. Some of their tablets weren't working, and the staff was too overwhelmed to assist us in a timely manner, making check-in difficult. The kids loved the many different courses of tech-infused miniature golf! Starving, they ate wings and burgers and really good fries. No pics, but good! A nice way to spend a holiday afternoon. What a lively scene! read more

Visited Puttshack, mixed bag. Bartender was super slow to take our order, even though it wasn't crowded. They randomly assign courses, which caught us off guard-we ended up on a full one while quieter ones waited empty. The mini golf was objectively fun, though. We were pretty frustrated because the groups ahead of us were all late to their 5:00pm times, so we were stepping on their heels with our 5:10pm time. There were also lots of loud kids--so maybe fun if you're a family-- but not for a date night. read more

I followed the advice of others and made my reservation for 9 people right when they opened on a Saturday. We stopped at the bar first and found their drink menu to have something for everyone. Beer, cocktails and mocktaiks were had. You aren't allowed to bring food onto the course- I wish we would've known that in advance but we made due. We were on the emerald course- with several other parties. To be honest, this was annoying. They have plenty of other courses and no one on them. We were constantly waiting for the parties in front of us and the ones behind us were invading what little space we had. Drinks on the small tables throughout the course were getting mixed up due to everyone putting their drinks on the tables as they moved. For a place with multiple course it didn't make sense why we were all on emerald. The sign tells you whose on what course and there was no one on ruby or sapphire. The course itself was fun! We have done a lot of other mini golf options in the twin cities and this one had the most engaging holes. In reality we would come back for a new course, but I'm hesitant on suggesting it based on our experience with other patrons. read more

Very cool spot! Held a small work event, staff was helpful, e gaged, and informative. The food was GREAT! We did a world tour type menu option which included Korean chicken sliders - these were my favorite, salad, pork tacos, dumplings and so much more (pictured). I also added on a few vegetarian options, I really enjoyed their portabello sliders, man I wish I had a bigger appetite to eat more of those. Drink options were great, I started off with the Breaking Bad - for no other reason then I'm a fan of the show and it came with a popsicle, well what I didn't know was that it would be an entire display, the drink came in a briefcase with dry ice, the popsicle and drink. Very Instagram worthy. Now for the game itself, our event included one round for each guest. We gravitated to the board game setup, so cute and challenging. I loved that the golf ball kept track of everyone's shots. As for the inside space and layout, this place is huge and has beautiful decor throughout, lots of little details and pops of color that add fun and make for great photo ops. Puttshack is such a great new spot in Edina for a date night, company party or outing with friends. The golf is fast, super interactive (literally - there's a trivia golf hole), and creates great conversation. I'm no longer in the dating game, but if you are and you're looking for a first date spot, I'd highly recommend. The menu surprised me and I was a little nervous, but I went with the BBQ chicken flatbread and it was actually delicious! I only ordered wine otherwise I'd bet I'd have raves about the cocktail as well. I think this will be a great addition for the area! read more
