My kids decided that they wanted to take me bowling for my birthday. Yay! We love bowling. This is the first time they paid for everything. So kind of a big deal for them. They decided to "splurge" on the VIP room because we'd never been in there. Not that it's a big price difference but don't waste your money. Other than it being a little quieter, there's nothing special to it. We pushed the request server button at least 3 times. No one came. Maybe we were supposed to go out and get stuff ourself but no one said that. Overall it was frustrating experience customer service wise. Obvious the business model works, because this place is always packed...but the restaurant service is super slow to the point where you need to get up, and go ask someone for an opportunity to order after 20 mins. Lanes always seem to be a 2 hour wait. Bartenders will stand there and look at you without taking orders, talking to coworkers. We actually asked them, they said they were on hour 12 of a shift, which makes sense. After several trips to this place, recommend staying in. We won't be coming back. Celebrated a friend's new job by reserving a lane at Pinstack. We had a lot of fun until maintenance was required. We kept requiring service and pin refreshes since the lane constantly broke. We were always surprised when we actually got all 10 pins set up. This took time to fix and we had to ask three people, the final person being the manager, to give us back the lost time. Also did not have the best waiting service. Maybe my expectations were too high, but for $36 USD + $3 USD per shoe rental for an hour during "peak time," I expected more than a subpar lane and laughably slow service. Maybe time to look for a new bowling spot for the one or two times we bowl per year. read more

This bowling alley is really neat. The area is still developing so when you look for the building its out in the boonies. The atmosphere is very much alive. They have a big screen tv at every bowling lane. The bar is fully stocked and is always crowded. The staff is very nice and are on their toes with the service. Now the prices are not cheap. This is by far the BEST place to entertain your kids and enjoy some adult time ... all in the same evening! While our kids roamed the arcade, climbed the rock wall and had a blast playing with their friends, my husband and I enjoyed a lovely dinner and a glass of wine. The highlight of our time here was definitely our fabulous server, Blake. He was helpful when my husband requested adjustments to his entree, due to dietary restrictions. Trashiest place I've ever been to in west Plano. I'm surprised this is even in west Plano. The second we walked in, the whole staff was extremely rude. Dangerous people in the parking, wreckless drivers, and confrontational agitators all around. Very undesirable. Stayed for about 5 minutes and left before even getting a lane. read more

This place is very nice, unfortunately the staff is horrible. First of I had to find another waiter to help me on my lane because mine never bothered to come by. Then sat at the bar and watched the bartender pass by several times and said nothing. Then what I think was his manager asked if I was helped and I said no. He said that's your bartender as he walked by again and said nothing. I told the manager that how am I supposed these to communicate if he dosent speak? He said he's getting your beer now and still never said a word? The service in the restaurant/bar area is terrible! We were waiting for our son to finish laser tag and thought we would get a drink. We sat at the bar (and no one else was sitting at the bar) and waited 15 minutes for someone to acknowledge us. Finally I had to wave a manager down and she was rude and acted like I had put her out. Time and time again I'm forced to come here through invite or a work event. Service is consistently terrible, average age of the workers appears to be 15, and they truly couldn't care less. Yesterday, me and two friends went for bowling, games, food/drinks. Put our name on the 2 hour bowling wait list. We then went to the restaurant and the host sat us. 3 different servers came by to take care of us, although it took 30 mins for our 1 drink each to come out. We saw our drinks sitting at the bar the whole time. Finally we were able to get some attention and ordered. I had to beg for a servers attention any time we wanted anything. There were servers standing around the bar doing nothing this entire time. When it came time for bowling, we played an entire game before someone came to our service. Despite already talking to a manager about getting our bumpers taken down from the previous bowlers. The manager, who appeared to be around 17 years old, said he'd get us a server. That took 30 mins and next I see the manager and another co worker goofing around on the LANE NEXT TO US while we still hadn't been helped out. This is the best place to go to to have fun. They have bowling,laser tag, bumper cars, games, rocking climbing and tight roping. There's an hour wait to play bowling but I expected that. I played games with my group while we waited.the food here is kind of expensive but it's good. I had the honey bee Pizza and my sister got the petite kale salad. My sister is now a vegan so there weren't many items for her to choose from. She's missing out by being a vegan. They also have have a bar here and the drinks are strong. There's a huge beer selection but I'm not a beer person. My sister got beer and I got the room 299 drink and a frozen Margarita. I brought my youth group to Pinstack for a group event for roughly 90 people. From beginning to end, the event experience was excellent. Maeva helped with providing package options that would fit our event desires and maximized our budget. When I checked in at the front, they gave me a packet with everything that we needed. When we realized that we needed more game cards and wristbands, they quickly stepped in and responded. They also set up a personal bowling alley space for our group, which helped ease the concern of bringing 70 teenagers into a large public event space. To any youth minister or other person considering Pinstack for a large group event, I would highly recommend it! read more

This place gets a five star rating from me and my 8 year old son who had an absolute blast here. The variety of gaming options is great, and the laser tag was superb as well as my son's favorite thing about this place by far. Pro: Surprisingly we didn't have to wait for 2 lanes for 11 bowlers. Our waiter was really nice in the beginning. Now on to the cons: We asked for 2 hours but they only put us down for one. Which was fine because just had to go renew for another hour* We ordered food and drinks, had a blast for the hour and this is when it went downhill. We renewed the hour and was about to continue bowling. While someone in our party went to renew, the server came up to us and said "My manager said you have to close out because your bill is getting high." What business in their right mind would do that? Especially if we had another hour to play to order more food and drinks. They should have taken a credit card and opened a tab in the beginning before we ordered anything. This would have prevented everything that was about to happen. I gave my wife my card to go pay, but she felt like we were being looked down on as if we can't pay for our bill. So she discussed this with the manager which ended up is us being asked to leave. Sure we did say some things, but if we were not discriminated against or disrespected first, we wouldn't have. We were just having a blast and minding our own business, and was not being loud or obnoxious prior to being asked to close out. And to make matters worse one of their staff, which was not even our waiter or even is our discussions overheard something and came up to my nephew and tried to start a fight. Sad. He didn't even know the whole story before trying to make a scene. Never wasting my money here. There are better places with better management and staff. read more

First off we came as a group for a fantasy football draft. We were promised a room, all 4 were empty, but was told by hostess we would have to sit in main eating area, which was very loud and all the tables were dirty, not wiped off. Then when the one who encouraged and booked this place showed up we went out to the patio where it was quieter. I'm just glad it was a nice breezy day. The tables out there were also dirty, were never wiped off. The Only reason I'm giving this a 3 is because the waitstaff was friendly and the food, veggie burger and fries, was amazing! Tonights visit, on a casual Thursday, was awful. Bowling We were assigned a lane that was already being used by a large group. We stood around, aimlessly looking for staff for a clarification. We were moved to another lane, across from another group. The way the seats and tables are situated makes things very awkward if you're accustomed to a regular bowling lane - the booths face each other, with a shared table in the middle. We had no room on the table for ourselves, as the other party's food/drinks were sprawled out. A younger kid, couldn't be more than 16, put the names in to the scoreboard for us, backtracking several times over spelling. Felt weird having someone do this kind of thing for us. After doing that, he told us "I need to tell you the rules". I jokingly said we knew how to bowl, but he went into detail about "the rules here at Pin Stack". It felt demeaning. While playing, we had both this kid and another bowling-attendant type kid watching over us (and everyone else) the entire time.. it was strange. Felt like we were being watched in case we did something wrong. The lane next to us was using bumpers, and the kid told them they couldn't use them because they didn't have any children in their party. He kept walking between us and the lane, surveying the area. It was extremely irritating. With 10 minutes left of our hour left, a group of about 10-15 came to sit next to us in the now-empty 'half-lane'. After causing a ruckus in the area, and moving through our lane to go somewhere else, they left. I don't understand why they would assign a group of 10-15 to one lane, especially when that lane is literally openly adjacent to another. Food We ordered food in the bowling area. The speed at which we ordered our food was awful. No silverware, no napkins or plates. We had to ask three times, to receive any of this. No offers of refills on the drinks. If the place was busy, I could forgive this kind of stuff.. but it wasn't. The food itself was pretty poor. Pizza was bland. I ordered a "Texas Smokehouse" burger.. it was dry. Literally, actually - I complained to my friends how they didn't put any BBQ sauce on it, or any sauce for that matter, before looking at the menu and realizing it didn't say it came with BBQ sauce. I think that's my fault for assuming a burger with 'Texas' and/or 'Smokehouse' came in the name. I asked for some on the side, but it never came. In Closing The whole design of this place, on top of being run by mostly teenagers with very little focus on the customer is just.. out of wack. For attempting to be, what I would consider it's trying to be, an 'upscale bowling alley', it pretty much fell flat. I can't recommend staying away from this place enough. read more
