After requesting an estimate thru Yelp, we were immediately contacted by Desert Pride's owner and then our Project Manager, Ruben Aceves. Ruben called to discuss our project and then came out to our home within a day. He was extremely polite and accommodating, yet unassumingly confident. He listened, asked some questions, made some very insightful recommendations, took some pictures and sent us a solid estimate as promised. Once we retained them, Ruben was our phenomenal daily point of contact. He worked with us closely to understand and meet our every wish. He came to the house every day and texted throughout the day to let us know who was coming, when and what to expect. Ruben was so knowledgeable and laid back that he gave us advice on things we were considering doing outside their scope of work. (i.e. new front doors thru Home Depot and some flooring thru a friend of a friend.) The project turned out more beautifully than we imagined. From the first moment the wrecking ball tore down my old house untll the last bit of paint dried on my new home, LEVEL UP was there with a kind and gentle hand. They understood how long it took for me to save up enough money to build this home, and they treated that fact with respect and admiration. This house has been my dream for going on 15 years- and I often wonder how different it would be if I had chosen someone other than LEVEL UP. Because of my profession, I am not allowed to have a phone on me at work. However, I was able to find ways to hide in the hallways at work, and send long text with any questions, concerns or fears I had. (Lol) When I would apologize for having to send detailed texts about a construction issue, they would always respond back with love and joy and tell me "James, you're the customer, the homeowner, we are lucky that you're trusting us with so much money. Please text us as often and as many times as you want." He realizes that the customer might not be as smart as he is and might need more explanation of what he is saying. I never once saw John lose his cool or speak disrespectfully to me or anyone else. That would be unprofessional to somebody paying hundreds of thousands of dollars, wouldn't it? And John is the very definition of a professional. I never heard John say one inpatient or disrespectful thing. Look up the word loving in the dictionary and you will find the name John of LEVEL UP. John is so outgoing and positive, he considers it an honor to build for the customer, and he's careful with your dollars and builds the home as if he was building his own. And then there is his daughter, Miss Skylar. I struggle to find words to describe her. But I'll try! You know how when you call somebody and they answer with a depressed sad attitude? You know how when you call some contractors and instead of saying "yes sir, I will make this happen,"they instead have to inform you of every reason why it can't happen? NOT Skylar! She is never like that. When I first spoke to Skylar, I said I wanted to hire somebody who sees the building of my house as something more than just a business transaction. I wanted to feel like I'm building my house with family, and with people who aren't resentful that you have the money to build the house you want, but celebrate the fact that you are able to build that home.. If you're looking for somebody who is a bowl of sunshine, and who is an encourager, look no farther than Skylar!
