Super cool spot and brings back nostalgia. I was playing pinball machines and SF2 like when I was a teenager. Food was good and lots of staff members to help out

This is first on the fun list of MUST DO for Nashville! You have everything you could want, bowling, pinball, old school arcade games, cornhole, beer pong, etc. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Moseyed around for a bit and found "my game" Burger Time. Nearly spent an hour on it. Such a fun experience. Free to play. Just get some drinks and relax. You can order pizza from next door and they will deliver or you can bring outside food in. Best policy ever. Such a cool atmosphere. Be sure to tip your bar tenders ;)

Pins Mechanical is my favorite and most popular social gaming bar in Downtown Nashville. I came here for a fun weekday evening date with my partner. Vibe: I noticed that there were other couples on dates, some families with kids (kids are typically welcome until early evening), and a few large groups of friends or colleagues having a good time. The place was bustling with people enjoying themselves. At the entrance, the place offered a variety of games to play, including patio pong, ping pong, Hookie, bocce, foosball, and giant Jenga. The highlight was the duckpins, which were smaller than a traditional bowling alley setup. This makes them easier and more fun for people who aren't pros. They also had a gaming arcade attached to the bar with classic machines and retro games. They had plenty of seating both indoors and in a semi-outdoor area. The venue was also smoking-friendly in designated outdoor areas and pet-friendly. The Play: I had an amazing time with the duckpin bowling and the gaming arcade. Although it took me a few tries to get the hang of it, it was fun. My partner and I spent a good 30-45 minutes between the pinball machines, bocce court, and arcade. The counter to purchase access for duckpin bowling was right at the entry. Some of the games, like pinball, required a payment of about $1 per play, while the duckpin bowling was priced around $8-$9 per game per person on weekdays and weekends. They had about 16 duckpin lanes, so we were able to secure one for our evening. The Sip: The bar had a good range of drinks, from beers to cocktails, Jello shots, and a wide selection of non-alcoholic beverages for children as well as teetotalers. I got the Rhinegeist Press Tart, a Berliner Weisse fruit beer, which was delicious, a little tart and fruity, just what I like. My partner got an Angry Orchard Crisp Apple, which he enjoyed too. The bar doesn't offer food, but fortunately, there are usually food trucks parked outside and a pizzeria right beside it. The bar also allows ordering food via DoorDash or Uber Eats, which is quite good. The Team: The staff was very attentive and helpful with everything. The bartender was kind and prompt with our order. Extra Sauce: Although the gaming bar did not have its own dedicated parking lot, there was discounted parking available underneath Whole Foods on Broadway that usually costs around $12 for up to 4 hours, which the bar would validate. (Although there are also lots nearby, and even free street parking on adjacent side streets, depending on luck, because parking in the Gulch is always a major challenge) The best thing about this place is that it's fun for all age groups, from kids to adults. I remember while I was there, the group beside my lane was a small group of teenage boys having a great time with their non-alcoholic drinks, while another lane next to mine had a group of women in their 60s enjoying their duckpins and laughs together.

This is one of my fave spots in Nashville for drinks and games. It's easy, it's huge, it has everything. Arcade games, pinball, duckpin bowling - so much fun! It doesn't hurt anything that there's a full bar, either ;) We will sometimes pop in to just play a round of jenga and have a drink. Other times we have a big group and we do duckpin bowling and hang for a while. My parents even came here to play arcade games with us. Like I said, easy and fun!

I loved coming to Pins. Pins has a great selection of pinball machines. They also have a machine where you can exchange bills for coins. We didn't realize they also have bowling, which is a nice touch. Not only that, they have free arcade games too like Pacman and Galaga. (Don't make the mistake of paying for those ones, they're free). Additionally, they have a full bar and plenty of seating inside. It's large and plenty of room to breathe. They have some outdoor games too which is cool. Was too cold for that though.

Think Chuck E. Cheese for modern adults. It's a warehouse-like place with pin lanes, mechanical games, table games, food trucks, drinks and bunch of fun. We were a group of 6 and made a reservation ahead of time. The lane is reserved by amount of time. It was spacious enough for all of us. People can be loud so be aware. I would say this is the place you come with adults or older kids but I did see a family with small kids. It just depends on your vibe. They sale any and all alcohol. The drinks were strong and tasty. They do have a happy hour. They don't serve food but they rotate they're food trucks vendors. Check their website before going. The space is huge, outdoors, indoors, two floors of pure fun. Across the street is a parking lot. Or you can try to do street parking but that can be tricky and you'll have to paid regardless.

This place is fun. It is a large warehouse space filled with free arcade and patio games. They also have duck bowling, pinball for a fee. The bar is manned by friendly helpful staff that are ready and able to recommend a libation from a wide selection of craft beer, cocktails, wine, mocktails and sodas. We paid to play a round of duck bowling and had a great time. However if you have a party of 4 or more there is not a lot of room. Seating is also lacking.

This review is for a group event- it included a hosted bar for 3 hours and duckpin bowling. It was a pleasure coordinating with every single person that helped me with this booking. The staff was so helpful and friendly and really, what more could you ask for? They allow outside catering and there is plenty of space to set up food. Our group seemed to enjoy bowling and everyone had a good time. Highly recommend!

Reminds me of the 80s. Super fun bar with free arcade games, skee ball, and cornhole. You can pay for duck bowling, fooseball and pinball. I enjoyed a fun mocktail called Go Fish that came with a Swedish Fish. They have Happy Hour specials from 4 pm to 7 pm. They also have oversized beer pong as well as bocce ball.

I came here with some coworkers, and we didn't spend too much time hanging out before leaving for a dinner reservation, but it's super cute! I love bowling in general and had never tried "duckpin bowling" before. We ordered drinks at the bar and played a few rounds. If I ever come back, I'd love to explore the other games they have. Apparently a great spot for the whole family!

Pinball Alley with lots of good new machines

I had so much fun here! This is a HUGE COMPLEX! They have stuff for everyone here! I came for Pinball and their room was actually really good. I didn't care for the $1 price point, but each machine had a dollar bill slot to make it easier. They had a lot of the new machines. No classic machines unfortunately. I could've used a game on The Addams Family or an Elvira machine. Each game had a sizable table for holding your drinks while you play. They had a ton of classic video games cabinets with Ms PacMan and Centipede and BurgerTime. It was a great trip down the 80s/90s memory lane. This is a perfect place to spend a night out and hang and play games. There's a lot of space here and it goes on and on.

Cool place for drinks and games in downtown Nashville. Good bar menu with a nice selection of craft and domestic beers and house made cocktails. The place is full of candlepin bowling lanes and boche ball courts. A selection of video games, and adult size slide to go between floors and even an old photo booth can be found. Good place to host an event or just hang out with friends.

This is our first time trying this place. We found it after eating dinner just down the street. This is an ultimately fun place for adults and kids. After 9 PM it is over 21 and children have to be supervised. They have many different activities for you to choose from. The music is great and keeps the vibe lively. The service at the bar is also very nice and friendly. They do have a wide range of beers, wine, and specialty drinks for you to choose from. If you're looking just to have some fun in the Nashville area this is the place for you.

Ask the Community - Pins Mechanical

Is this a kid friendly environment?

Went during the day time. It was!

Do you need a reservation for bocce? Thanks.

Are they open on Fridays as of Aug 2020? I'm seeing conflicting days and hours on the website.

We are open on Fridays from 5pm-10pm! Thanks for letting us know, all hours should be accurate and up to date!

Are there bumper lanes for kids?

There are not. It's duck bowling and not standard bowling so the lanes are shorter, balls are lighter, no finger holes in the balls, and the pins are on strings. I've never seen bumper and I'm fairly sure they are not offered

What is the parking situation like?

The small lot beside the building is almost always full, there is ample street parking within a block or two, some paid lots within that area as well. If you're willing to walk for 5-7 mins you can park for free easily

    Is this place kid friendly?

Kids are allow before 8 pm but please note there is a lot of drinking happening, since it's primarily an over 21 bar. Additionally, there are a lot of adult jokes around the facility, which depending on you child's age may lead to some conversations.

You can find free parking, which is really good these days. We ordered fried, crab dip sliders, and oysters. Everything was really good! There are drinks that are refreshing/lighter and ones that are more spirit-centered. They also have small bites that are really excellent pairs to the drinks. 2 - It is very small. So if you feel like you'll land on a spot because someone popped in and just left, you might be out of luck. We were able to be seated because we came a little earlier, and I believe someone at the bar left earlier than anticipated. 3 - It's quite dark/moody. If you have a person who's weirded out by spaces like this, go somewhere else. If you can't read the menu in the darker/lower lit spaces, bring out your phone's flashlight. One thing that's GREAT about the menu is that they have it in contrasting colors (ie light paper and black ink) and the font is large. There was a spot that I went to recently where the lighting was very low and they used a dark tan font on manila colored paper. If the lighting was normal, it wouldn't have been a problem ... but in lower light, the lack of contrast was not helpful! 4 - The staff is really great. I know that I mentioned it before, but if you've ever been to places like The Aviary in Chicago or places like this, you'll feel that this is right in the same lane.
