Bf and I came here twice while visiting the city. We really enjoyed the great deals they have each weekday and the good options on craft beers. The service was also great and the games they have are actually pretty neat. I think if it weren't raining there would be more people enjoying the outdoor games because they have quite a lot. My favorite was dukpin, we played everytime we came and it was jusy really fun to play while enjoying some drinks. I love a good bar-cade and this place was HUGE! It has mini-bowling in half the space, 80s/90s arcade games and pinball on another side, an upstairs with bags (cornhole) and skee-ball and a beautiful outdoor area as well. The old-school arcade games are free (or at least were when we were there on a Saturday morning) which is nice, and they had three large bar areas so getting drinks was fast even though it was very busy. The reason it doesn't get 5 stars... All of the pinball games were $1 or $1.25 per play which is the most expensive- by far!- that I've seen at a bar-cade, the drinks were a little on the high end, but not outrageous, and there are kids EVERYWHERE! So fun and so cute!! After having drinks and appetizers at The Patterson House, I walked over to meet a friend at this bar+arcade per his recommendation. Honestly I didn't have a chance to try any of the games, but there are SO many options and rooms--I'd love to come back the next time I'm in Nashville. Not a huge pinball fan, but I'm obsessed with beer pong and bowling. Love these types of bar+arcades, especially with a gathering of friends. 16 bit is such great and fun place to get out have some drinks and play games. I love the names they call their drinks. The hulk hogan comes with a bomb pop ice cream. There's plenty of games so you will always have something to do and have a good time. They have a lot of retro arcade cabinets from donkey Kong to a little more recent ones like mortal kombat3 and they're all free to play. They also have a snes and sega genesis around a lounge area. In addition to arcade games, there's ring tosses, tiny bowling, and a game where you toss a bowl into barrels (idk the name but it looked lit). The place itself is very large and spacious so it doesn't feel crowded where it's shoulder to shoulder allowing for a safe and comfortable environment. I thought this place was pretty awesome for Nashville. Space was open with lots of options to do gaming, bowling or just hanging out. The front and back bar serves different drink menus. They have mock tails for non alcoholic drinkers so you don't feel left out. Affordable cheap drinks. Dog friendly place bring your pets for a fun day outing. Was a pretty neat place. The line outside to get in on a Friday night was kind of a bummer, I expected it with it being Friday but it was more of a bummer if you aren't part of a large group. Being just me and my husband there were larger groups going in ahead of us before we were let in. (So bring or make friends!) A lot of the rules that were set in place of course are because of COVID so they have really adapted to what's going on. Got the Lisa Frank drink and the Carrie fisher. Was kinda of disappointed cause I didn't get the rock candy in the Carrie fisher drink like it says it does, but oh well haha. Was so excited to go here with my wife our first night in Nashville as I'd never been to an arcade bar before. At 8pm on a Monday night it was not very crowded and we had plenty of room to play pinball which we did really enjoy, hence the 2 stars. We tried to play a single arcade game, Tron, and it ate several of our quarters, which led us back to the pinball. As for drinks, we saw a really cool health potion style glass on Google review images which led us to the bar in the first place. My wife showed a picture of the exact cup/glass to two different staff members who assured us we could purchase the cup separately or as a drink combo. We ordered two of the 16$ drink/cup combos (as instructed) and received a cup which had their lame bowling logo on it (I would have atleast been satisfied if they had the logo of the space invader bit image they had proudly shining outside the building). We also ordered two other different cocktails which were super weak in the alcohol ratio. I noticed several other arcade bars in the area which I would try next time, super disappointed in this place. read more

The new hot spot in Nashville has two sides, 16 Bit bar+Archade (left) and Pins Mechanical Co. (right). Read on to learn more. 16 Bit Bar+ Arcade houses all the old video games your heart desires. Streetfighter, Mario Brothers Donkey Kong, you name it they have it. Weirdly enough the highlight of the left side may be the awesome bathroom. Hilarious neon signs abound, babes and dudes have their own sides but meet in the middle with communal sinks and selfie-ready mirrors. The drinks are unique to each side of this place. Different drinks at 16 Bit than at Pins Mechanical Co. When you're chilling at 16 bit you have to get the Carrie Fisher just to nom on the rock salt stir stick. The Hulk Hogan comes with a bomb pop and the Stay Puft tastes like a smore. Pins Mechanical Co. in the same building to your right is home to the best collection of pinball machines I have ever laid eyes on. They are $0.50 per round (three balls) and worth it! past the pinball machines, you will find duckpins lanes. It's mini-bowling and I love it! Games are $5 per person per game but so worth it. After seeing someone post something about this place on Instagram, I immediately had to make my way over here, even though it's close to the Gulch, which can be hectic hahaha! If you're familiar with The Soda Parlor, 16-Bit is sorta like its adult sibling version, even though it's still pretty kid-friendly (and apparently dog-friendly!) There's several bouncers at each entrance like an actual bar, but kids are totally welcome too, so as long as you bring your ID, anyone's welcome. The thing I liked was that there's a few arcade games near the main entrance that are completely free, whereas most are 25-50¢ to play. There's also a mini bowling alley in the back of the bar, filled with around 16 lanes. Plus there's a large sized Jenga game, along with a few other larger-sized games you can play. Let's just be honest here, this is the place where you can relive your childhood as an adult. This is a really freakin cool place to hang out. Waited almost an hour to get in. We sat at the bar, looked at the menu, the drinks are all really interesting. I tried the Game over which was a mixture of a few drinks, and Carrie Fisher. The Carrie Fisher had rock candy and coconut rum blueberry vodka.. it wasn't that good at all. I was disappointed BUT the rock candy was DELICIOUS. The games were really fun to play as well! a really fun vibe inside... I think you have to go with a group of friends to really Enjoy it. They also let dogs in too. Because of COVID they only let a certain amount of people in. The bathrooms are super cool, they share the washing hands area with the men, so that's interesting. Let me start by saying I will definitely return here. Close to my house, not mobbed with tourists, super fun atmosphere. However, there are quite a few kinks that need to be worked out, hopefully they will get on that quickly. After a second trip, more issues seemed to be present than not. Huge warehouse style building housing 16 Bit, which is on the right side as you walk into the main entrance, and Pins Mechanical Co, which is at the rear. Each area has its own bar with differing cocktails and an extensive draft list. No food on either side. On the 16 side, there are about 15 free old school arcade games. There are also tvs at the end of this hall where you can play console emulators like Sega and Nintendo. You must have a drink in your hand to hang out and play the free games. On the walk from one side to the other there is a row of pinball machines. Maybe 15ish games. My weakness! These will cost you, typically 50 cents a piece. Thought it was odd that while the arcade games were free, these cost money. I would stick to one or the other to avoid confusion. On the Pins side there are bowling lanes, bocce ball, huge jenga and a semi outdoor area with huge garbage can beer pong, food trucks, and bonfires. The entire building is beautifully designed and you'll want to explore every area. A game of duck pin bowling is $5 per person per game. There is a cost for bocce ball as well, just not sure what that is. You can register and get a lane for the bowling just past the front bar at 16 bit. The first night they were open, their entire credit card system was down. It took quite some time to get charged for drinks and games. Didn't let this phase me. They were clearly struggling through some of the finer nuances of opening a business. However, I found it odd that they didn't offer any compensation for this. No discounted drinks or games. Just an Im sorry AFTER ordering a purchase. Still, the staff was friendly, the space was clean and in top working condition, and everything else went off without a hitch. This place is so up my alley (ha!). Lots to do for fun plus or minus alcohol. We played a round of duck pin, each had a drink, played some arcade games, went on our way. My second visit was on Halloween and was WAY more weird. Upon entering, we were asked for our IDs. While I am over 30 (scary!), Im used to this. I whipped out my wallet, and was met with a puzzled look by the very young "bouncer". I said, sorry is there a problem?...crickets. Do you need to scan it? To which I was told yes, the ID needed to be scanned. Okay, cool. I struggle to get my ID out, hand it over, and he doesn't bother scanning it. Annoying, but liveable. We go to the bar at 16 bit for a drink. My lovely companion goes to grab us bowling spots. At the bar, it takes a while to get attention (no, it wasn't packed). I order a draft by number as listed on the wall and a cocktail. I am asked again for my ID. This honestly annoys me. #1, after a certain time, this place is 21+. We were definitely there after that cut off. #2, the walk from the "bouncer" to the bar is maybe 10 steps. But okay. I hand over my ID again. As the bartender is making my drink, she clearly is not used to pouring alcohol. I wind up with a glass not even halfway full to which I watch her add more ice. Doesn't really negate the problem and I get a very very short pour. This I can live with. I'm not a big drinker, honestly. I keep my mouth shut. Then, in the middle of pouring the pint of beer, I am asked 3 separate times what draft my companion ordered. Annoying, but thankfully I remember, and she comes back with a beer. It takes about 5-6 swipes of my card for the square to pick it up, which always concerns me. But I walk back to the Pins side with a cocktail and a beer, none the more stressed. Upon arriving back with the beer, my companion (who is a big craft beer person) says immediately they poured him the wrong beer. It's the wrong color. We wait for a lane attendant to come over, who sends over a waitress. All of this to tell us that we would have to go back to the 16 bit side and let them know the drink was wrong to get a fresh pour. Well, of course our legs aren't broken...but that's sucky service. I would imagine, that while branded separately, one bar can handle the others problems and vice versa. Other than this, I saw people being massively over served (a pet peeve of mine, especially in a city that isn't walkable), staff unable to answer basic questions, and a general feeling of confusion among all. I think this place has the potential to be absolutely amazing, but needs to work out the staffing kinks first. Major fingers crossed, because the space and activities are a 10/10. read more

After visiting the 16-Bit in Indianapolis, I was excited to hear of one opening in Nashville. My oldest daughter is a gamer, so I know this place would be perfect for her. We decided to visit on a Sunday evening, and the experience was more than disappointing for me (she had a great time). First, as with most everything in Nashville there is no such thing as free parking. We paid $15 to park for 4 hours - not bad for Nashville, but still not cool. The place is very nice. Lots of room and plenty of seating if you so choose. Great outdoor patio area and 2 large bars. Plus there are video games! These positives are why this location gets 2 stars. Everything else gets zero stars! Here are the negatives I experienced. 1. Twenty four beer taps. That should be a positive, right? Sure, but not when they are out of all but 5 of them! Not kidding. I ordered a beer and the bartender said, "let me just tell you what we do have". They literally only had 5 of the 24 beers available. Then when I tried to order what I wanted in a can...you guessed it, they were out of that too! I'm sorry, but a bar should NOT run out of alcohol. I understand selling out of 1-2 popular items, but that much is unacceptable. That is a poor management issue! 2. The bartending staff is not educated on their menu. When I inquired about one of the beers listed (asked what type) she replied with, "I don't know. I've never seen it out of the can". Really??? I asked to see the can, then was told they were out of it. Wow! She also didn't know the type of alcohol to put into the other drink we ordered without looking at a card. Better training is certainly needed. 3. I have been to 16-Bit in Indianapolis, IN. I assumed the Nashville location would be virtually the same. WRONG! Indy is so much better. They have far more game selections, including Skee-Ball. Plus, there were only like 3-4 games on the upper level in Nashville. The Indy location had tons of games upstairs. The quantity of games was disappointing. I also could not believe they don't have the original Pac-Man. Need more games!! 4. Finally, the staff needs to work on keeping the place clean - especially the restrooms. I walked into the men's room, and it was filthy! This was maybe 6:30-7:00 pm, and it looked as if it had not been cleaned since that morning. Plus the paper towel dispensers were all empty. There were 2 rolls of paper towels sitting on top of them. Come on! If you want return guests then take the time to clean up. Again, I gave 2 stars because I love the concept and think it has potential. This location needs to take some time to properly train employees, manage inventory, and keep the place clean. I'm sure I'll go back at some point and give them another try. I think I'll wait until they have been open longer before doing so, however. Let's hope they can make some much needed improvements and make this place what it could be! read more

This is literally the coolest bar I've ever been to! First - the property is massive! There is so much to do here, classic video games, pin ball, giant Jenga, bocce ball, bowling and ping pong. You will not be bored here! The decor is industrial meets 1985. With cocktails named after our favorite 80's & 90's icons , all priced around $8 you can't go wrong. We had the Kevin bacon (maple bourbon with a slice of bacon) and the Hulk Hogan (vodka, lemonade and a bomb pop!) . After, we made our way to the second bar which has an entirely different menu. Maybe I'm just too old for this place. I'm in my late 30s, which means I'm old enough to actually have played these arcade games when they originally came out. The concept is fun--a bar where you can play arcade games, pinball, batting cages, etc. The concept here, however, is poorly executed. This place is a crowded, poorly managed disaster! First of all, we waited in line for quite some time for drinks, and got tired of the lack of order and the endless wait caused by that. There were no organized lines, and everyone just stood around in clusters, hoping a bartender would eventually acknowledge them. We finally left the "line." There are also several random unattended young children running around the place. This place is for people who want to seem cool, or who want to take Instagram photos. It's loud, it's crowded, and it's almost impossible to get a drink or a seat. There is no food, though you can "order in" or bring your own food. If you want to wait in line, have at it. I guess I'm old enough to see my time is spent better elsewhere. read more
