I have a 95 F-150 that has seen dozens of mechanics in its lifetime, many of which have lied to me and price gouged me. Specifically in the span of this past month, after it stalled while I was driving it, I went through 8 mechanics who either refused service, didn't have the right tools, or just simply didn't know what to do with it. Thankfully Chris at Pinpoint was the 9th (and final) mechanic. Chris and George were both competent, kind, and communicative every step of the way. They treated me respectfully and Chris was dedicated to finding and fixing the problem properly - he even notified me that the ECU I had installed by a previous shop had likely been stripped from a junkyard vehicle (that shop had charged me full price and neglected to tell me it wasn't a new part). When all was said and done, I was charged very fairly for both the parts and labor. My Kia Soul's air conditioner blower had stopped working. I got several estimates from Yelp in the 850.00 range to replace the blower. I had already spent 125.00 for my own mechanic to check the fuse and replace the filter... ( 5 minutes worth of labor)...only to be told that if that did not work he would have to go into the engine etc. for an extra charge to diagnose the problem. I ended up going to Pinpoint Automotive and they diagnosed the issue plus the diagnostic fee would be applied to the parts and labor. It was quite a bit less than the other quotes saving me hundreds of dollars. The owner and mechanics are down to earth , friendly and efficient. Had my car the next day with a fully operational ac. Pinpoint Automotive just finished working on our 2006 Lexus ES330 replacing the water pump, camshaft seals. crankshaft seal, 2 - pullies, timing belt and 2 other belts. I called last minute needing a replacement starter. George(the owner) was kind enough over the phone to provide a quote and be able to squeeze me in the day of which I really appreciated because I couldn't afford to take a day off work. He was honest, transparent and accommodating even though I came in after work and they had to close in a bit. But George and his partner made it happen and I felt as a customer, valued and taken care of. As someone who knows nothing about cars, I felt as though they were honest, transparent and real with me on what I needed and didn't charge me an arm and leg. Other places I called needed the car for the whole day which would result in missing work or getting a rental car and were charging me 700+. So again a million thanks to the pinpoint crew. It's never easy trying to find an auto shop that you can completely trust, I went through a few quotes before I came across Pinpoint. I was told by most places that the problem was with the rotors and it would be at least $500, the highest price I got was from pep boys for only the front rotors and brakes priced at $1,500 (ridiculous). I contacted Pinpoint as my last hope because I was tired of the amount of shops I already contacted only to be ripped off. They told me initially ~$359. I couldn't believe it at first, I was like this is a new scam. But, I decided to pull up, and they not only found the actually problem but said it was going to cost less than they initially quoted me! Safe to say if I left a fresh pack of gum in my car I'd trust them to not grab a piece, or in another way if I left $1,000 in my car I'd bet that not a single dollar was missing. It's Ironic to rediscover Chris and this shop. I actually hired Chris many MANY years ago when I ran a competing shop in Oceanside. I had to retire when I became too disabled to work and thought Chris had left California. Now I stumbled across him and it will now be HIM taking care of ME:-) It is more than Chris is also a Former Marine like myself. He is a man with integrity. He has more wisdom and natural ability on all things mechanical than ANYONE I ever met in my 66 years. I have never seen him even consider overcharging anyone or selling work not needed. He goes beyond caring for owners cars, he cares about their owners as well. There was never a day in all our years working together that I ever saw Chris lose his temper with a customer or with a vehicle. His work was always as good as it gets and so was his attitude. I am thrilled to find him again, even though I only need a new battery now for my wife's old Toyota truck. We have TWO Toyota's so I only get to visit Chris now for batteries and to tell lies to each other when we relive old War Stories:-) I honestly do not know of a living human being I trust as much as Chris. His honestly, his sincerity and his SKILL is something I never saw from anyone else that was any match for Chris. By far the best mechanic I have ever gone too, and I've been to quite a few. Pinpoint Automotive and the staff here are absolutely great and they get the job done. The only shop that uses their moral judgment rather then greed is Pinpoint. The prices are completely fair and the service is great. Pinpoint Automotive is the go-to shop for any car. Chris was professional, honest, and quick. He showed me the old parts and explained why they were malfunctioning. He also charged me $100 less than the estimation I was provided!
