I just looked back at me 1st review and it was back in v 2014!! Time sure has flown!! I'm so grateful for Paul and his crew here. They've taken care of all my car issues and I've never passed out from the bill. They are the best honest and friendly neighborhood shop. Thank you Paul for helping me with the car emergency today so I could get to work on time you are the best!! read more

Great place -- affordable prices and honest, great service. I've been coming here for years, from simple fluid changes to big repairs. The location is super convenient, and I'll definitely keep coming back. If you ever feel like other shops or dealerships are overcharging, get a second opinion here. Highly recommended! read more

My husband is happy with them & has gone to them often over the years. Just took one of our cars in this week. Only wish they had better parking for customers. read more

I would recommend going to a different shop. I brought my car in after a failed smog test and was told they would get to it the next day and they were more affordable place. Called for 2 days in a row and they still never started working on my car and kept getting the run around of what could be wrong, never called back when I asked how much it would be to replace something. After I was not comfortable with them working on my car, I went in on Monday, to get my car back at 8 when they open...to be told the front desk guy wasn't there yet and won't be there till 8:30. Walked back in at 8:30 and he still wasn't there! Thankfully I got my car back to take it to a different shop. Don't be open at a certain time if the person who does the paperwork doesn't show up until 8:30 or whenever he wants to show up. read more

I've been going to Purfect Auto for over 15 years. Paul and his guys have always been honest and courteous. I feel they do their best to inform and give good, competitive and in some cases even best prices. I highly recommend this business. read more

The last time I went in for my check engine light, I even called ahead to confirm they could check it. When I pulled up, the light had literally just turned off, and they refused to even look at my car. No effort, no scan, nothing -- just "we can't help you." They were super rude about it too, which honestly has been a theme every time I've dealt with them. With my old car, they told me it "just needed a tune-up," so I paid over $500. The car broke down right after I picked it up. When I brought it back, they let it sit on the lot for over a week without even touching it or giving me any updates. I've felt talked down to here more than once, especially as a girl, and I'm over it. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else. read more

I started coming here for oil changes. I believe they are the best value in town for full synthetic. Workers are friendly and the owner Paul is friendly and trustworthy, won't try to upsell you like other mechanics. This is my go to spot for oil changes. read more

Paul is a very fair mechanic. He always gets the issue solved and doesn't overcharge.

Can't say I've been in here, but I was given extremely helpful advice regarding my transmission over the phone for free. I was also referred to a specialist without having to go in. Thank you for all the helpful information. read more

The nicest guys ever! Reasonable and reliable. My car had a lot of things wrong with it. They gave me a very good estimate. Unfortunately I could not afford to get it fixed. I gave it to them. I'd trust them as mechanics. read more

Paul did a fantastic job with my car!! He gave me a quote that was right on. He fixed the car quickly , and communicated with me and updated me re: my car . He also let me know of any other issues the car had that might need to be fixed in the future. I highly recommend Purrfect Auto. ! read more

Thanks so much for helping with the splash shield, very nice of you. i would recommend 100%

5 stars for sure. My wife and I were driving through Oceanside and got a blinking engine on light. Paul at Purrfect diagnosed the problem very fast and fixed it for a very reasonable price. Would definitely recommend them. read more

Don't waste your time here. Nobody was wearing a mask, there's nowhere to park your car, and they can't even get their employees to show up. I called the day prior to ask about a tire alignment for the next day and they told me they don't do appointments but it shouldn't be a problem, to call back later that day to confirm. They told me make sure you bring in your car right at 8 AM so we can do it before some other project comes in. I show up before 8 AM and the greasy staff member (not wearing a mask) tells me the guy who does alignments isn't here yet and doesn't show up until 8:30 AM but could be later. So I waited until 8:30 AM, he still doesn't show up. The staff member tells me this guy has a habit of showing up late so he just doesn't know when he could come in, but I can keep waiting around. One of the staff member's buddies is also sitting in the lobby with his mask under his chin, chatting away with his friend. The lobby is pretty much as gross as you'd expect. At this point I've wasted almost an hour on this, which should have taken an hour max (or at least they could've taken my keys and sent me on my way), and the staff member is being disrespectful and rude, so I left. read more

Awesome customer service!! We were on vacation from az and noticed a strong gas smell when we arrived to our hotel. We took it to Ray and he quickly figured out the problem & got it fixed for us in time to be able to head back on the road safely! Honest and reliable and communicative! Highly recommend!! Thank you for the great service Ray! read more

Super honest and informative shop! I've come here four times with random engine issues and they always call me and explain the issue, how they plan on fixing it and the pricing things will be. I think the pricing is very fair. They're also quick and responsive. As a woman who doesn't know anything about cars, I feel very confident coming here and like they don't at all take advantage of my lack of knowledge. They're also pretty friendly :) read more

After 2 services, I feel like it's more fair to leave a review. First oil change service to test out a new shop. The shop seems busy with many bays occupied. Price is good, same as Walmart. Drop off car, came back an hour later ( as told by owner) and no one at the shop know where the car is. Odd, I walk around to nearby streets and found my car parked along one of the street. The mechanic was sleeping in the driver seat. Not cool to see. The owner did not charge for the oil change service for the long time and incident. So 10 months later, decided to give them another chance. Well the oil changing guy didn't properly tighten the oil plug causing a slow leak. It was a worse experience the second time on "most basic" of car maintenance. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Never 3 times read more

Purrfect Auto was a friend's recommend when I moved to the neighborhood, and they did not disappoint! Honest and for the people, unlike the auto Dealer service. Hah Anyway, much gratitude and grace! read more

I have visited four locations and this is by far the best. The manager has a great attitude, despite the fact that he is short staffed. The service is fast and efficient. Last, they don't play games with coupons, like a few of the other locations have. read more

This place is amazing! It's hard to find a good auto shop because you never really know if someone is being dishonest and/or ripping you off. Ray was friendly, had excellent communication, and was very accommodating. He even offered to have one of his workers drive me home after I dropped off my car! The service was done was within 24 hours, and I got picture updates in the process. I compared this place to others, and his was the best deal. I'm really satisfied with this experience, and I will definitely be going back. read more

As an Oceanside local, this is my go to for oil changes/brakes/general automotive services. The customer service is great, and so are the prices. Those couple of things are hard to come by these days, so it's nice to see that this place has both. I'll be coming here again next time I need service. read more

Hello, this is purely just based off an emergency situation I am a photographer and I went down to Oceanside to do a photoshoot after the photoshoot my car started shaking so I was able to call after and get help from the shop. My car had a mis fire and one of the coils needed to be replaced so thankful they were able to help me or else I would have been stuck in Oceanside. Very thankful for them. read more

This place is the real deal. Paul was knowledgeable and friendly plus he diagnosed the problem quickly. We are from out of town, so I was expecting to get ripped off. That didn't happen and they even found the part quickly. Thanks!! read more

Repaired a couple of dents on my infinity! Very reasonable! One was a major dent on side door, that someone did, and didn't let me know as like a hit and run! Beautiful job, like it never happened! Highly recommend!! read more

After having parked my 2015 VW TDI for 45 minutes, it starting making a heavy clunking sound every time I would shift and/or apply the gas. The great guys at Purrfect Auto figured out that somehow the bolt that kept my engine in place was missing. Ray squeezed me in that day! After the inspection, Paul explained the problem. Here's what makes them stand out above the others: Paul had already contacted VW to find the proper bolt and where to get it. On his way to work the next day, Paul stopped by a VW dealership and picked up the bolt. They had it ready for me before lunchtime that day with a total cost of $54.95! I don't write Yelp reviews but these guys were so so great that I had to give them a shout-out! You HAVE go to Purrfect Auto when you have any car issues! read more

Excellent customer service. Very friendly and reliable. We had a small problem with a seal on the oil filter after getting an oil change and they immediately took care of the problem at no charge and in a timely manner. We've taken two of our vehicles here in the last few weeks and will definitely be back. Very good prices and they appear to be very trustworthy. A great choice for auto service in O'side! Great waiting room too with tons of cool magazines and lots of space to support social distancing when needed. read more

I was in a bind with my brakes and a bit of a time crunch. Ray told me he could get it done before I had to head to work because he understood my situation and wanted to help. They showed me the issue and resolved it as quick as possible. Thanks again, Ray! read more

The owner, Paul, treat your car as his own. This is the go to place of all my auto repairs.

Not sure how this place gets such high reviews... we tried this auto shop since it was open on Saturdays, but the service took three days longer than they originally said and we got the car back with oily rags and washers in the cup holder which I think is unprofessional. It also takes at least 10 minutes to speak with an employee when you walk in because no one is ever there. They eventually got the job done and seemed like nice people but I would not trust them with my car again. read more

Always have quality service here. Is it going to be your shiny dealership shop experience? Definitely not, but it's an auto shop, what do you expect? They have great service and do good honest work. Biggest pro for me is that the staff don't make me feel like a helpless princess. They answer my questions even if it would be basic knowledge for most men. Can't beat the price point either. So win win for me. Always. read more

Terrible service! I can't even begin to elaborate on how unprofessional this joint is. Just drive past them and keep on driving they are downright awful. read more

My alternator broke on the freeway (Saturday) and I had a dance performance to get to that day. The mechanic I talked to initially didn't think he could make the fix happen, so I was almost stuck in a really shit situation where I would have to come pick it up on a Monday. They called me at 7 and told me my car was fixed. Thank you guys so much for staying late to make the fix happen. Highly recommend these guys read more

Recently moved to the area and was advised by my uncle to go to Purrfect Auto if anything acts up with my car. Sure enough, my transmission blew out and Purrfect Auto confirmed it. They fixed it up and said if anything else happens to it then to bring it in again, since they were pretty sure the transmission they put in would work, but then again anything can happen with cars. About a week later it started having the same problems and Purrfect Auto took a look at it again and said that it needed a certain part that it usually doesn't need and within a couple days it was good to go! I came by to get it and they didn't even charge me the labor cost - just the employee price for the part! The team at Purrfect Auto know what they are doing and are very trustworthy - I will keep coming back for all future car related problems! read more
