Avoid this place like the plague! They will push unnecessary services and aggressively try to upsell you on their credit card. I only took my car in for a simple radiator flush. Afterward, the attendant told me I needed -- ASAP -- a new radiator, new hoses, a new radiator cap, and two thermostats replaced. That would have cost me over $4,000. I took it straight to an independent shop and the only thing wrong was a simple bad cap. Avoid this place at all costs!! read more

I came into this Firestone location about two weeks ago to get new brake pads and rotors. A couple of days later, I noticed the issue had actually gotten worse. While driving on the freeway, I couldn't go over 50 mph, something felt dangerously loose, like it might fall off. Since the shop was closed when I realized how serious the issue was, I returned the next day. They told me something had been left loose and fixed it for free (as they should have, considering I had just paid for the service). Now here I am again, back with the same original problem. This time, the front desk tells me the issue is due to a faulty rear brake pad -- which they installed. He says he'll "figure something out." I had to firmly tell him no -- you're going to replace the brake pads and rotors properly because I already paid for new ones. This is my third visit in less than two weeks for either unresolved issues or mistakes they made. That's completely unacceptable. I do not recommend this location and honestly, I'm questioning Firestone as a whole. But I can say for sure: I won't be coming back to this shop. I even read out loud what they have posted on the wall: "If it's not done right, it's free." I told them this service was clearly not done right. The guy just brushed it off and told me not to worry, that "everything will be fine." I spent over $600 on work that didn't even fix my car -- it just kept me coming back for more problems. read more

I dropped my van off at 8:30am and it was diagnosed and finished by 1:30pm the same day! I told them I thought I needed new brake pads and rotors, turns out that wasn't the problem, it was just a minor adjustment that needed to be made. Other places could have lied and upsold me but not the guys at Firestone on PCH and Oceanside Blv. Shout out Manny and Miguel. They saved me 100s of dollars. Had a vehicle that was not used for six months and the tires seemed a little low so I stopped by Firestone and a shop guy came out and topped every tire up to the correct amount and when I asked how much do I owe them, he said no charge but if I could, give a nice yelp review. I have had an issue with Firestone for months now, and NO ONE I mean NO ONE has figured it out. It goes all the way to the area manager. I had work done and my issue still continued, all along it was as simple as my radiator cap, area manager offered a small settlement, got my email wrong and have heard nothing at all in almost a month! Just left this store. Brought in my M3 for a tire patch and an alignment. The employee looked at my car and said he can't do an alignment because it's too low. Usually I'd understand but I took off my front lip because I knew that might be an issue. After declining the alignment, I said "okay, just patch the tire and balance all four wheels." He looked at the wheels and said he can't do them because they are too expensive and he doesn't want to scratch them. I understand the thoughtfulness but at the end of the day, just do your job. If I could I give zero stars, I had such faith in this store to take care of my car, me and my family have been loyal customers for years with Firestone we love it But this location has seen my car idk 6 times in one year already says a lot. BUT I feel so rigged and so taking advantage of, by this store. the amount of money I paid them to work/oversee with my car is unreal. When asking for help since it wasn't my mess up nor any other stores mess, they refused to do anything. They refused to admit to there huge mistakes and apologized and kindly take care of there mistake. Now here I am forking out money I just did not even 10 months ago. Firestone is a great company, but I'd watch out for how they handle there customers service and there charges and there techs, at locations. maybe take it to other ones and see if they come up with the same thing they did. But honestly with this store your very lucky if they actually inspect your car instead of saying they did and they truly didn't, cause trust me if they did the issues I'm having wouldn't be happening resulting into a bigger issue. I'm sad I even have to write this but In all honesty what they did how they handle it is all wrong. saving you from a headache and a burn hole in that back pocket. I suspect they fuck your car up to rob from the customer. my brakes were fine, I asked for an oil chang wand now I suspect they mess with my brakes because they called me at home to say my breaks need change. I never felt anything with the breaks until they touched the car for oil change. This is my suspicious, if you had the same one, now there is two. read more

I had the absolute best experience with everyone working at this location, during an extreme bummer of a situation. I bought a car from a dealership that should not have been sold to me. Things started going wrong and I brought it to this Firestone. They told me that my car is unsafe to drive and helped me deal with my warranty company. They didn't even charge me for the diagnostic because my car is so bad. They went out of their way to help me and it meant the world to me. They even took the time to show me what was wrong. I had my wife call in to ask for a rough estimate on a job for my truck be I was driving. Fella told her I'd be $1,300 because they would have to remove other parts in the way to get to it and they might as well replace some gaskets. Didn't sound right to me so I called another Firestone and they gave me an estimate for $370. I've had this job done before through a different Firestone location and the price was similar to my second estimate. I should have read these reviews first. Here's my experience: Had an oil change on my car and it was smooth. No upcharges and didn't try to overly upsell me. When I had an oil leak in another vehicle, I went back. The said they had to put dye in the oil to try it out. I bring it back and I'm given the diagnosis. I ask to see and there's hesitation (Concern #1). I'm told "dye don't lie" and shown a dime size pool of oil; he says, that's your leak because it has dye there. They showed me with a flashlight but you need a UV light to see the dye "glow" (concern #2). That prompted me to buy a UV light. No dye in the oil. I dropped a little oil from both vehicles side by side and took photos under the UV light. When I asked them which picture had the dye, both the manager and the tech picked the wrong one. Why? Because they were almost the same color...no dye. Tech doubled down and implied I was tricking them "How do I know that's the same oil?" The manager didn't try to argue and just refunded my fees. I thought my leak was major but it wasn't. Since I did think it was major, they made damn sure to find an expensive repair they could do. They'd have charged me nearly $1k for work that wasn't needed had I been naive about cars. Proceed to this shop with caution. read more

I am leaving a review for Gio at this location. I was on my way up to OC from Central San Diego and wasn't anticipating the traffic congestion in Carlsbad. The regular flowing traffic quickly came to a stop and it caused to me to break harder than I would like. I thought nothing of it until I started to hear a "weird" noise. I took my car to this location and ran into Gio while getting out the car. His customer service was really great!!! He was personable and tried his best to get me into the shop to do a general inspection in a timely manner, but given that it was noon on a Saturday it just wasn't possible to get in full inspection (that would require tires be removed etc) with my timeline to get back on the road to make it to the OC plans. However, he DID make time to do an external inspection to make sure my breaks were safe to get on the road which was most important to me. After his inspection he gave me the confidence I needed to get on the road and my plans did not have to be cancelled. As a young woman I appreciate that he did not speak to me in a way that was condescending like some men do in the auto repair industry to women. Instead, he was kind, professional and brought appreciated levity to a stressful situation. read more

Will never bring my car here again. My husband brought it here for a full inspection 2 months ago, charged me 4k to fix MOST things, when they wouldn't touch the real issues. Now 2 months later, my Jeep wouldn't start due to electrical problems. Called Firestone to see if they'd be able to help us and they told us absolutely and to bring it in. We got it towed there at 10am Thursday morning, hadn't touched it by 3pm, and called us at 12pm the next day saying they won't touch it. Had to call Triple A again and have them tow my car to another shop. Manager didn't even have any justification other than his mechs didn't want to do it. Had an 8:00am appointment for an alignment. Got there and the manager tells me one of the mechanics called out sick but he had another coming in at 9:00am. I told him I'd wait, 9:00am comes around and nothing. Manager comes out and tells me the guy is on his way. Meanwhile another customer comes in after me and they start working on his car right away. 10:00am comes around and nothing. Then the other customer that came in after me tells the manager that maybe the manager should do the alignment and the manager's response is that he doesn't get paid enough to be doing that. I asked for my keys back and left. I don't think the manager had anyone else coming in. I would have been fine with him telling me that from the beginning but to keep me waiting for nothing is ridiculous. I won't be returning to that location. Never had issues with the Carlsbad location, I should have just scheduled my appointment there from the beginning. read more

So I took my car there to buy tires and get my car aligned. i scheduled an appt and showed up on time. I was offered tires and decided to get them. Before my car was to start the service I was told the customer before me had purchased them and they would be available the next day. I was visiting and could not wait an extra day. So I chose to go to a local tire shop and purchase 4 brand new tires and return for the alignment. I was told the alignment would take two hours and they would call when it was completed. This was at 10 am. I was called at 4 pm to pick up my car.I was staying a few miles from the shop so didn't notice anything major. When I left the next day. I noticed my cars steering wheel was off center and the car pulled to the right slightly. Being I live 9 hours away. I could not immediately return. Three weeks pass. I noticed vibration and the usual pulling to the right. I had a family emergency and retuned to Oceanside and decided to have them adjust or fix my alignment. I was told I have a one year warranty on the work When I purchased the work. Before I returned I had my tires rotated and was informed my front right tire was wearing excessively and the vibration and wearing was due to the alignment being excessively off. I explained to the manager what was explained to me. This particular store has had several managers over the past month. So there's something being figured out in management. Nevertheles, he took the car and had it readjusted. I told the manager that my tires were brand new and they were wearing down on the inside because of their alignment. He simply said they would not replace , repair or compensate me for that issue. He said they would not warranty this adjustment and refunded my money for the alignment. My car still pulled to the right slightly less and the steering wheel was never centered. Upon returning home. (Sacramento) I took to to a professional alignment and suspension shop and they explained my car was dog walking. My rear tires were cambered differently and going right. While my front was doing something much different. very disappointed with their service. I will not be back nor recommend this shop to anyone I know. stay Away from them for alignments. I had a very bad phone call experience here with their employee or manager. I asked the guy if he could install some relay for me on my car, instead I get a attitude and disrespect from the guy. He told me " when you go to the restaurant would you take your steak with you so they can cook it for you" and than he yell "NO", so I had to respond back, so I said " if the restaurant steaks are expensive I have to bring my own". Than I hanged up the phone. I will not recommend this place because they have a very bad attitude, rode, and disrespectful. For tire I recommend Costco and Walmart. For oil change I recommend Jiffy lubes, Walmart, and sears. For any thing else got to sears they do anything or go to pep boys. The alignment left me with a crooked steering wheel and I had to go to the Hacienda location to get it fixed because I simply can't trust the Coast Hwy location and its manger. Do not take your vehicle there for anything else than oil change and tire. I took my Audi to air bleed brake system after I installed new calipers and brake pads. The car was returned still with massive amount of air in the system. I took it immediately to Audi to perform the same. Audi performed the work, inspected the wheels, brakes showing that this Firestone location did not torque one of the wheel and lug nuts were already coming off. When I discussed the issue with the Firestone service manager, I was told they bled the calipers properly but not the entire brake system because it's extra $$$... Really Firestone? I get my cars serviced @ other Firestone locations w/ no issues at all. Avoid this one at all cost. read more

The guy told me I needed a ton of stuff I knew I didn't need, PLUS tried to force into getting one of their credit cards. He claimed they had free tire installation yet my bill says I was charged almost $300 for labor. I was charged for two warranties that I didn't ask for and he refused to take off the bill. Brought my truck in at 11:00 with an appointment to get the brakes done after changing the brake pads and rotors less than 5,000 miles ago. Was refused an initial quote until they "inspected" the vehicle then waited 2 1/2 hours to receive a call telling me it was going to cost $450 to replace just my front brake pads and rotors. The parts are $150 and it's an hour job maximum for a novice mechanic .... $300 in labor/price inflated parts. When I told them I wanted to come pick up my truck I was told i needed to wait until a technIcian came back from lunch to put my truck back together. After reading reviews here I wouldn't be surprised if I mysteriously have new problems once I finally get my truck back.
