I've been going to the Goodyear in Pinole Vista Shopping Center regularly since before the pandemic. We have two cars in our household and they get their regular services and tires there. I am someone that does not know much about cars but the guys at Goodyear have always given me their honest diagnoses on all of my vehicles while also giving me a lesson on Auto 101. The pricing was surprisingly good and we have a Goodyear shop nearby (apparently, not many around anymore?). da Service: John was professional, helpful, and full of info. I added on an alignment as recommended due to wear pattern on the old tires and was ready for pickup at lunchtime. NOTE: If you purchase from the manufacturer site, there IS a difference in the service programs and what is covered. Be sure to do your research, YMMV. da Outcome: I definitely can recommend The Goodyear, Pinole for your tire needs based on my experience. Big mistake. I chose to ignore the other negative reviews, how bad could it be? It was bad. The person at the front counter was rude and dismissive. Despite having an appointment confirmation email, they had no record of my booking upon arrival. Furthermore, the installer informed me that wheel balancing was not included, which directly contradicts the services advertised on goodyear.com: "Includes tire mounting, valve stems or TPMS kit, and balancing." The installer also attempted to persuade me to purchase tires from their local store instead of honoring my online order. The interaction was unprofessional, and I left without receiving the installation. Thankfully the goodyear.com support is reasonable I have rescheduled at a different Goodyear location. Don't make the same mistake I did! If you care about your time and expect basic customer service, steer clear of this location. I have been coming to this tire shop for about a year now. I got a great deal on a set of tires and have returned every few months for tire rotation. John is super responsive via email and the service is quick enough that if I ask for the earliest appointment, I can still make it to work on time afterward. A few months ago, I hit a curb and one of my tires was completely destroyed. I called this shop to ask if they had my tire in stock and when they confirmed, I had my car towed there. The tire was replaced in less than half an hour and I was able to make it to work! I declined the tire insurance when I purchased the tires and wished I didn't! I highly recommend you get the insurance (which I believe was an extra $20/tire) if you drive a lot. Inside, there is a small sitting area with phone chargers and an outlet. They don't have their own public wifi but there is a strong Xfinity connection if you have an account. Believed there was an issue with my coolant system, specifically the thermostat. Was told that in all his years he'd never run into that issue. Took the vehicle in, they used their code reader, saw that a different code was displaying and deleted the DTCs. No inspection of the cooling system or live data was performed. $189 to delete a check engine light code. Low and behold, after I get the car back the CEL comes back on. I verify the issue by taking a look at the live data using a friends code reader and end up replacing my thermostat on my own. Fixed the issue and CEL hasn't come back. Massively price gauged! I went in to do a simple oil/ brake fluid change and they tried to add on every thing in the book plus tires (mind you my tires are new - I bought them from them). When I told them no, they held my car for 4 hrs and then charged me $175 for "labor" for the oil and brake fluid change. In total it was $360!! Took my Honda accord in for tires and an oil change. John was at the front desk I'm a mechanic myself so I know what my car needed. He nailed all the things my car needed and I didn't want to do it myself so I asked for a price for everything needed. It was pricey for labor but my tires were 125 each which is a pretty good price. I took my car in after I got off work at 8am. I didn't want to wait until they finished and John told me they could give me a ride home and bring me back when the service was done. John your the MVP for that I really appreciated that. I will be coming back for the rest of the things I need done. Ended up getting 4 tires, oil change, air filter, and front rotors and brakes. They checked me in, told me to return in 2 hours. 20 mins after my departure, I get a call saying that they received the wrong size tires. I told them that the website only ask for the make & model of your car not the tire size. He said then you must have done something wrong. Just bought a brand new dodge charger scat pack and ended up with a bolt through one of my tires! Bad luck lol I went to the dealership to see if they could repair it but it would be a two hour wait. They recommended to check out this place if i didn't want to wait. Luckily there was only one car a head of me. Owner was straight to the point, no bs, took my keys and told me it would be about 45 mins. They patched it and i have not had any problems. My experience was fine but when i did pick up my car there was another guy who seemed frustrated/pissed, i guess its just luck of the draw? I have been coming here since I moved to the area about a year and a half ago. Getting things like oil changes, tire rotations, checking the air in my tires, and getting the tpms light reset. They have been really great! I had to get my transmission serviced and they were super helpful. I went there so they could check on what type of transmission I had, so I thought I would just wait till they did so. Then I was called into a work meeting and they drove me back to my place, which was super nice. They ordered the transmission fluid and were very transparent about the details which I appreciated. I have a company car and Lease Plan takes care of all of the maintenance costs. Lease Plan was trying to hassle these lovely gentlemen into not replacing the horrible tires that they sent me to Big O to get (by the way Big O sucks in Pinole). I am so glad that these guys took great care of me and the vehicle. It is nice to know that someone cares about your safety when you are traveling. This was the quickest and easiest place to get my car serviced through Lease Plan & they listened to my needs. In addition I was advised to purchase hazard insurance and explained the conditions, when a year later I had to do a claim, the information provided in the store did not match. I came here to get a quick tire patch after picking up a nail. I walked into the office and no one was standing there so I just waited a minute since I figured someone would hear that the door opened. After a couple minutes I rang the bell at the counter...nothing. About 4 minutes later I could hear someone talking in the other room (probably 20 ft away down the corner) so I rang the bell again. Nothing. Waited a few minutes in case they were busy cuz I hate being annoying...after being in the office for a total of 10 minutes I rang the bell again twice and about 20 seconds go by and a guy walks in all angry, "we're on lunch, come back later!" And I said "oh my bad...what time will you be back? I'd like to get a tire patched." And he said, "just take a card and call back, we're on lunch. you will need to leave your car for the day anyway so just call us later." Okayyyyy! You don't have to be rude! How am I supposed to know you are on lunch? There were no signs or anything. Don't leave people waiting for 10 minutes hoping they will just leave and then tell them to leave when you finally do acknowledge them. And why not just tell people when you will be back from lunch so they know when to come back? I don't care if you are on lunch, you don't have to be rude about it especially since I didn't know you were on lunch. If there would have been a sign I would have gotten lunch myself and come back after, but because you were rude and have no consideration for people's time, I decided to take my business elsewhere. I went to Larry's Tire about 5 mins down the street. He greeted me as I walked towards the garage (not even in the office yet), asked me what I needed, and when I said a patch he LITERALLY said "oh that's it? Pull up in front of the stall, we'll do it right now! It's quick!" even though they were working on several other cars. At Larry's it cost me $25 and I was in and out in 20 minutes. I've heard this Goodyear location tries to upsell and will tell people their tires can't be patched so that they will buy a new tire. Who knows. Won't be going back to find out, but I doubt it would have only cost me $25. read more
