We needed new front brakes on my wife's 2014 CRV. My first quote from a well-reviewed tire place in El Cerrito was $670 including two hours of labor plus $300+ parts. Berkeley Minicar, (the gold standard in Honda repair) quoted $750, but promised to use genuine Honda parts. Our regular garage quoted $498 but couldn't do it for a week. We're hoping to replace the car in a few months, so we didn't want to drop a bunch of money into the car. Tires Direct squeezed us in same day, and the bill came to $368. The service writer was super nice, and they got it done in about an hour. And so much for two hours of labor at $112/hour from garage #1. When putting on the spare that I thought had been patched, the AAA rep said that the tire only had plug-based repaired. Called Tires Direct to see if could fix the original flat and redo the spare now on my car with an actual patch. I was quoted a price for doing both tires and made an appointment. When I showed up for my appointment, I was seen immediately and directed to a very clean and comfortable waiting room. After roughly 30 minutes, I was told my car was done. When checking out, I was told that the spare AAA installed actually had a patch AND a plug, making it extra durable. I was also told that tire didn't match the size of the other three on the car, so they re-installed the original, but newly patched tired so all of the tires would be the same. The tire AAA thought was merely plugged was securely put back in place, and I was only charged for the one tire they replaced. Any shop could have charged for two tire repairs, even if it only did one repair, because I wouldn't have known otherwise; however, this shop's honesty makes will willing to refer it and return to it should I need tires. I had a piece of thick wire that was impaled in my tire causing a slow leak. What a drag. I took the car to the tire store I was most familiar with, one that I'd bought tires from in the past, TireChoice (formerly Goodyear) in Albany, and asked if they could help me. Well, not exactly, because they couldn't fit me in that day, and the guy behind the desk was not enthusiastic about helping me the next day either, so after a long, awkard, silent stare, I took the hint and said, "So I should take it somewhere else?", and he just nodded, yes. (Maybe they were having a bad day, I don't know.) So I googled tires in my area and looked at reviews, and then phoned Tires Direct and asked if they repaired tires, and was told "Yes", and I was able to take it there, wait 45 minutes for the repair and was charged 30 bucks. The guy behind the front desk was professional and very easy-going. It was no big deal for them, they were more than happy to help. So I had to write this review and say well done, and I'll be buying my next set of tires from them, too. read more

I was their regular customer but lately when they move to much bigger place they become unreliable specially when i came to get my car wheel alignment fix because i put a spacer and it vibrates when i go 65 to 75miles,I thought the problem will be solved if i bring it to them but it didn't happened. After the alignment i didnt used my car for a week but when i used it and i go on 68 to 75miles the vibration is still their so i came back and told them what happened. They asked if i put something on it? I said there's a apacer and they replied they will not fix it unless i get rid off the spacer. So i told them they should've check it in the first place and the spacer is already there when I brought them the car, so their answer is NO THEY WILL NOT FIX IT AND I HAVE TO TAKE THE SPACER OFF.
