We love Nicaraguan food and were excited to find Pinolandia in West Palm Beach. The carne asada plate was exactly what we hoped for, with great maduros, fried cheese, and excellent gallo pinto. The restaurant filled up quickly around lunchtime, which says a lot. Small issue with a delivery pickup happening while we were there, but it didn't take away from our meal. When the red meat cravings hit, the CARNE ASADA CON QUESO (COMPLETA) is a solid go to. VERY generous portions, and the beef has always been a 8.5-10/10 over the years (depending on who's grilling that day). Only thing I'd change would be less rice and more sweet plantains, but l'm not complaining. read more

I can't believe this place doesn't have more stars! The people are so sweet and I'm not sure what's not to love about the fritanga itself. We ordered queso frito, gallo pinto, maduros, chayote relleno, and a couple of drinks. Queso frito is always such a delicious treat and the agua de tamarindo with the chia seeds in it was sooo refreshing. The super sweet people who worked here offered us several drinks to try (all made in-house!) and even brought us out a little dessert on the house, which was delicious. The customer service here is terrible. I just went yesterday for lunch since I was in the area. The girl behind the food counter was gone for about 5 minutes after I walked in and when she came back, she couldn't be bothered to politely ask me what I wanted to order, she just stood there and looked at me. After I gave her my order, I asked if they had tortillas and she just shook her head. Once my food was packed, she scooted me over to the other counter to pay. The girl there walked up as if she was taking a stroll through a park with food in her hand and chewing while she asked me if I wanted anything else. I told her I wanted to order a large cacao drink with ice and she just rolled her eyes and walked to the cooler to pour my drink. All in all, an order of steak, rice and beans, fried cheese, sweet plantains, and a large drink, ended up costing me $26. Ridiculous pricing for garbage customer service and mediocre food. read more

Anytime I'm in South Florida, I have to hit up a Nicaraguan joint for food. I found this place in the area. I walked in first to make sure the place looked clean. It definitely met my standards. Clean eating area, food serving area and restrooms. The place smelt amazing, like carne asada upon entering. Now to the food. I ordered gallo pinto, tajadas, carne asada and queso frito. It was delicious! The Gallo pinto was on point- perfect texture. The meat was full of flavor and tender. Cheese was delicious. To drink I got cacao and it was great! This Pinolandia in WPB is just not authentic. They now have different people, they don't know how to make Gallo pinto, they are always out of plaintains or something, the carne asada meal used to be $9! Every time i go they change the price without notice. Last time was $12 and just two days ago it went up to $16 without the fried cheese!!! Price is ridiculous. I went two days ago and bought 3 carne asada and one with cheese to go, when I got home- no kidding the one with cheese smelled rotten! It was terrible! Wasted $20 on trash. The next day the whole room smelled rotten!! It smelled sour! The food was not good at all. I had bought a nacatamal- straight garbage. No meat at all it was all Masa. What a good place for Nicaraguan food. While in the wall place located in a strip mall close to the airport. Queso Frita is excellent here cooked to perfection. Staff doesn't speak a lot of English but that s what I look for when I'm eating Latin food. The less English the better for me. Cafeteria style place. I love this place! Everytime I am near this area I gotta come down here to have some. I was introduced to Fritangas about 6 years ago by a good friend. There are a couple of these restaurants in Broward and the most famous near Marlins Park. Happy I don't have to drive an hour plus to get the same type of food. The portions are very good and the food is always on point! The one thing I will say is that service can be hit or miss but I will tolerate it when it comes to this amazing food. read more
