CARNE ASADA CON QUESO ( COMPLETA)
    Anne H.

When the red meat cravings hit, the CARNE ASADA CON QUESO (COMPLETA) is a solid go to. VERY generous portions, and the beef has always been a 8.5-10/10 over the years (depending on who's grilling that day). Only thing I'd change would be less rice and more sweet plantains, but l'm not complaining.

Paying 17.50 with a fried cheese and yet you get raw meat. You never know how you going to get your meat most of the times is raw.

I can't believe this place doesn't have more stars! The people are so sweet and I'm not sure what's not to love about the fritanga itself. We ordered queso frito, gallo pinto, maduros, chayote relleno, and a couple of drinks. Queso frito is always such a delicious treat and the agua de tamarindo with the chia seeds in it was sooo refreshing. The super sweet people who worked here offered us several drinks to try (all made in-house!) and even brought us out a little dessert on the house, which was delicious. Between the quality of the food and the quality of the people, this place is a gem!

Anytime I'm in South Florida, I have to hit up a Nicaraguan joint for food. I found this place in the area. I walked in first to make sure the place looked clean. It definitely met my standards. Clean eating area, food serving area and restrooms. The place smelt amazing, like carne asada upon entering. Now to the food. I ordered gallo pinto, tajadas, carne asada and queso frito. It was delicious! The Gallo pinto was on point- perfect texture. The meat was full of flavor and tender. Cheese was delicious. To drink I got cacao and it was great! I would definitely recommend this place.

Love fritanga spots (Nica Spanish food) and the craving was satisfied but I've had better. The gallo pinto was good y la carne was good as well. Nothing over the top. Great service and they have a mini mart with cheeses and native items.

Live roach in the dining room.

Unfortunately, I will not be able to eat here anymore, although I really liked the food after noticing a large cockroach crawling across the floor then onto the wall I don't know how I could ever see this place the same please see attached photo.

first time I was searching for Nacatamales and I found this place ... terrible watery undercooked dough ( la masa espantosa ) llena de agua very unhealthy they rushed to make it ! extremely disappointed and service by a woman really bad blaming the the person who made the Nacatamales and saying that I need a day after to eat it then so the dough get ready ? really? how terrible and damages unhealthy respond ... this place can be closed for sale unhealthy food ! horrible ... pictures in my phone if u need it ... and by the way with the answer thta I have to wait one day to eat it ???? Omg what a irresponsible respond from a restaurant in USA ! Too bad service by the woman on the phone .. and terrible

However, I know from traveling that some of the best spots are ones that appear to be a hole in the wall. I walked in, very cute inside! Staff was welcoming and I cozied right up at the bar to wait for my friend. I was immediately brought chips and salsa and a cold beer. We ended up sitting at a high top and our waitress suggested that I try either carne asada from the Mexican menu or Vaca Frita from the Cuban menu. I love me some carne asada but I was intrigued but this 'fried shredded beef' that was marinated in mole and cooked in a hot skillet until crispy. She suggested sweet plantains to go with it and white rice with beans which is traditional Cuban (instead of yellow rice). IT WAS FABULOUS! It was crispy on the outside and juicy. The mole was flavorful but not spicy and i appreciated that the meat was not dripping in sauce. My dinner date ordered chicken tamales which were seasoned in a Cuban style with yellow rice. She is used to Mexican tamales but said these really hit the spot! The only blemish on the nice was her second margarita which was the cucumber one which she didn't like at all. However, the first one she ordered (pictured) which was a different flavor was a show stopper.

The service was fast and friendly, and even though the restaurant was fairly busy, our party of six was seated and rapidly attended on. I ordered the bandeja paisa, and it was an excellent choice. The portion was enormous far more food than I could finish in one sitting, and everything was satisfying and flavorful. One dish I would not recommend is the steak al caballo. It arrived covered in a tomato-based sauce that tasted very similar to ketchup, which wasn't what I expected and detracted from the dish. Overall, this is a solid choice for large groups, soccer fans looking to catch a game, and anyone craving hearty Colombian food. We had to pick it up from a central serving station. We ordered a lot! Chicken wings, rice and plantains. It smelled so good and fragrant. One thing we missed was the toppings bar at the front of the restaurant. Darn! It would have been nice to put some peppers and onions on our wings. Back when they used to focus only on their food. Last visit, my Cuban sandwich was absolutely gross, the bread was rock hard, the pernil was super dry, and the cheese wasn't even melted. I let that one slide and chalked it up to the kitchen having a bad day. However, yesterday was even more horrendous experience. I've been Puerto Rican my entire life lol. Almost 50 years of existence. I have never in my life encountered a more soggy greasy and squishy Chicharron as I did yesterday. It was an absolute abomination. A disgrace to all of Latin heritage. The little bits of meat were rock hard and burnt to a crisp. What's supposed to be crispy skin, was completely soggy and soft. As if it had never been cooked at all. I have no idea how you could get the meat burnt to a crisp and the skin completely soggy on pork belly. I'm completely appalled the fact that it was even given to me. Whoever was in the kitchen should have known better than to serve that slop. It's an embarrassment to the establishment to even have put that into the window to be given to a customer. There's absolutely no way the person in the kitchen knows what they're doing with Latin food if that was served. It deeply saddened me to say I'll never go back to this place again. Not even for a beer. Seeing as how the prices have skyrocketed and the food quality has gone into the toilet I'll pass. Thank you.(pictures taken before the Chicharron was given to the dogs as a snack, because even bad food doesn't go to waste in my house)
