This place has completely fallen off. I've been going here for about 11 years or so. Long before the nightclub discotheque outside. Long before an outside bar. Back when they used to focus only on their food. Last visit, my Cuban sandwich was absolutely gross, the bread was rock hard, the pernil was super dry, and the cheese wasn't even melted. I let that one slide and chalked it up to the kitchen having a bad day. However, yesterday was even more horrendous experience. I've been Puerto Rican my entire life lol. Almost 50 years of existence. I have never in my life encountered a more soggy greasy and squishy Chicharron as I did yesterday. It was an absolute abomination. A disgrace to all of Latin heritage. The little bits of meat were rock hard and burnt to a crisp. What's supposed to be crispy skin, was completely soggy and soft. As if it had never been cooked at all. I have no idea how you could get the meat burnt to a crisp and the skin completely soggy on pork belly. I'm completely appalled the fact that it was even given to me. Whoever was in the kitchen should have known better than to serve that slop. It's an embarrassment to the establishment to even have put that into the window to be given to a customer. There's absolutely no way the person in the kitchen knows what they're doing with Latin food if that was served. It deeply saddened me to say I'll never go back to this place again. Not even for a beer. Seeing as how the prices have skyrocketed and the food quality has gone into the toilet I'll pass. Thank you.(pictures taken before the Chicharron was given to the dogs as a snack, because even bad food doesn't go to waste in my house) read more

Don Cafe never misses. Our go-to is cafecito + pan con bistek -- simple but DONE RIGHT. El cafecito siempre fuertecito y dulcecito, perfecto para ese boost, and the pan con bistek is flavorful, fresh, and pressed just right. If you're on Military Rd and craving authentic Cuban vibes late at night, this spot hits every time. Consistent, tasty, and feels like home. read more

The food was delicious and the Cuban coffee con leche was smooth and creamy! We ordered a bunch of things to try and everything tasted amazing! The menu is extensive and you can order any item all day so it was difficult to pick since we don't live in the area. The service was great and the diner ambiance was perfect for our family of 4. Highly recommend this little gem, don't leave without trying the ceviche read more

They were incredibly slow. We ordered two Cuban sandwiches, and they put them all together in one go. When we went to take them out, we couldn't tell if it was one or two sandwiches because they were stuck together so tightly... The food never disappoints. They upgraded the place from the last time we went to accommodate more people and now have a beautiful patio for outdoor eating! It's authentic Dominican food and makes me feel at home every time I go. We all ordered the mangu with fried eggs salami and fried cheese. It's the traditional breakfast of Dominicans! This place is now open 24hrs and they serve breakfast 24 hrs a day!! I freaking love this place! Its simply delicious and there was no way I would come visit my stomping grounds and not stop in for some food! read more

Really good place! I ordered a fresh guava juice and Chuletas with white rice, black beans, and sweet plantains. Everything was delicious! The Chuletas were crispy and still very juicy. I'll be back for sure. At first glance I thought the portion was too small. But it was plenty of food and I didn't even finish. You should order 2 juices because they are THAT good. read more

Worse Cuban sandwich and potato ball I have ever experienced in my entire life.. I havnt been to Florida since the passing of my grandfather 20 years ago I grew up in south beach many summers My cuban family always. Cooked all my favorites and was so disappointing. It tasted old and was cold .. I was starving from a flight and it was my first meal arriving to west palm beach.. The ground beef was so strange it didn't even look like ground beef .. I live in Los Angeles and was looking forward to a great Cuban meal /. So sad this failed .. read more

Indoor (cold AC!) and outdoor (semi covered patio) seating. Food is delicious and tastes like (what I imagine to be) authentic Cuban food. Yum yum yum ! Service seems like organized chaos, and the three (?) waitresses get around to all the tables amazingly well. Patrons can be loud and interesting at times, which just adds to the overall intrigue of the place. Prices are reasonable. I'm amazed they're open 24/7 - I wonder what the place is like at 2 am! read more

Had a great time tonight at Don Cafe. Olmer the manager is such a great person, personable and takes the time to talk to the tables. My server Angel Luis was great, was quick and friendly! I definitely recommend the place specially on Fri-Sat night with live music. I would say if you in the area and want some Dominican/Puerto Rican inspired plates, this is the place to go!! read more

Would not suggest. The place was half full and they were very slow at the get go. There were only 3 of us and our order was very simple. Waited 25 mins for a cuban sandwich and waited another 20 mins for a chicken sandwich and pataconies. The food is very plain nothing to talk about. The music was extremely loud could not hear each other and the street noise was loud parking was terrible car double parked behind us and to look 15 mins for the driver the restaurant personnel were no help on top of that they automatically add the gratuity, so the service is terrible because they know they are getting theirs amy way. Would not go back if it was free. read more

The worst Mofongo I've ever had. I didn't even eat it. The empanadas weren't much better.

What an unexpected lovely surprise in West Palm Beach. This is a 24/7 place where there is a line no matter when you arrive. We visited for dinner, lunch and then breakfast on separate occasions. They serve FRESH SQUEEZED ORANGE JUICE for breakfast. How can you beat that? How many 24/7 places even do this? They are efficient, there is no question about that. But the food is good. The empanadas columbianas, arroz y frijoles were delicious. One evening we had the Sopa de marisco - seafood soup with unbelievable seafood broth. It was the best soup we have had in quite some time. Definitely made from scratch. What a joy. Then into the evening, there was live music and dancing to top everything off. We will definitely return. read more

I give this place for stars because the people are generally very friendly. Also, they have a great Cuban coffee, of course. Today I tried the Wed special for the first time- fricasse de puercas. It comes with 3 sides which is great. The red beans were awesome- tostones ok although it looked like they were cooked in oil that they cooked many other products in. To my disappointment the pork was full of bones and fat. What the heck?? Why am I having to pick through bones to eat my lunch? Definitely NOT something I would order again or recommend. read more

Don café is a good choice at any time of the day. They're open 24 hours which is a huge plus. Their food was very good and so was the service. To drink we got passion fruit juice, mango batido (shake) and a coffee and they were all very good. They sometimes have live music outside which is nice. Definitely recommend. read more

Please reconsider from ordering from the online ordering and from this location . I called to check on my order and Jacqueline said that the order had already left which was untrue. I love coming here in the morning for breakfast as they are very fast and inexpensive. The Cafe Con Leche is so good here and gives you that extra boost in the morning so you can feel oh so mighty. They have specials every day on the board. There is a sitting area outdoors with umbrellas and also inside. They are open 24/7 which means you can get wasted and have food during weee hours ;0). Today I ordered lunch for the first time here. Ceviche with Tostones (not bad for $5.99). I also ordered the Seabass with broiled yuca, rice n beans ($6.99). Not bad at all except for they gave me Tilapia and not Seabass. So inexpensive, I'm not even going to argue plus I ate a piece. I think they gave me a wrong order. Oh well, good non the less. I see a lot of locals and returning costumers as they greet everyone by name. Looks like they also have live music and performers on the weekend. Totally recommend this place if you are looking for good Spanish cravings. read more

Went there for the empanadas and they were not that great to be honest at least not the chicken ones.

If you're black, Asian or anything aside from white or Hispanic, be prepared to be waiting 40+ minutes. Me and my friends sat at a table, no one came up so then we went to the window to order, and order took so long the food was cold. There were white people and another set of Hispanics who came shortly after and sat at a table, and they were immediately served and they took their orders. They do not like black people, don't waste your time!!! read more

People at the takeout window with no masks, one coughing interacting with these fashionistas who sport the masks as a disdain for State law. One gal, at the back there, even did what is unthinkable when we're not in a pandemic: Eating her own food at the tiny counter where they drop everyone else's food. Gross. Unsafe. We turned and left. read more

Tostones & Steak Monfongo Portion sizes here are generous, and I'd say they give you your money's worth easily for the entrees. The chicken on the tostones was very moist and well seasoned. I would have enjoyed that as an entree served over rice. The steak with the monfongo was a bit over cooked for my liking, and was served separate from the actual plantain 'base' which is different than any other time I've had monfongo. The monfongo ball did have some sort of meat infused in it, but it was so over cooked that I couldn't really identify it. read more

I was not very happy with the service or the food, My Husband and I decided to go here since he is a big fan of Latino inspired cuisine. First impressions we walked in and we were ignored by at least 6 female staff members for a good 3 minutes. I had to walk up to someone and request seating to which then they pointed outside or inside no one actually took us to our table we just wondered outside like beggars looking to squat somewhere Then after being seated we waited another 5 - 8 minutes the waitress passed several times no one came to our table until yet again we called for someone so the theme here is that we needed to beg for service. We ordered an appetizer and our lunches we waited close to 45 minutes for our meals and it didn't even taste good it came out lukewarm... nor did we get the appetizer before the main course a simple cheese quesadilla it was terrible and we almost left but then the food came. To TOP IT ALL OFF I HAD A DIRTY FORK in COVID SO THERE NO QA HERE (QUALITY CONTROL) so I already loss my appetite MY HUSBAND'S ICETEA CAME OUT WITH WHITE GOUP on it she didn't even seem to care something was wrong with it. we didn't even bother complaining I just wanted to be out of there. Idk what others are raving about this place but I will NEVER GO BACK HERE either they were racially prejudice even though im black and my husband is white or they just have terrible service PERIOD read more

I ordered food to cater a small event because i thought it was a Cuban style restaurant. The food was not anything what i expected to be. I ordered baked chicken, black rice, potato salad and beef in stew. I can only say the rice was ok. The service was mediocre and they are quick to charge extra for anything. The only thing i remember about the food is that the beef was hard and the potatoes had mustard and mayo. They are also pricey so i really thought the food will be better! read more

First and foremost, they are open 24 hours! Major win! The food super yummy for nonstop business and it hits the spot when you've had a good night out. My friend got the palomilla with rice/beans and sweet plantain, man she LOVED it. I got a chicken sandwich (added Swiss, onions, tomatoes and lettuce) also so, so good. Love their empanadas too! They deserved 4 stars but the main downfall of this place is the attitudes the service has. The ladies that work there live their lives flirting away with everyone and ignoring customer, literally every single time I go. They forgot to put our empanadas in the bag, when my friend went to ask for them the lady spoke to her so nasty and kept rolling her eyes. If only they worked on their service they'd be 5 stars. read more

There is nothing more satisfying than a good Dominican Breakfast.... during lunch time. Mashed Plantains (Mangu), Over easy eggs, Fry Cheese, and fry Salchichón... amazing!!! All of that was good here. 1) Place was clean and welcoming. 2) Waitstaff was very friendly and very welcoming. 3) Food was delicious. It was served hot and fast. 4) Café Expresó was just right!!!! The food was average. The cafe con leche was good, the tostada was delicious and hot. The tres golpe was not as good. I'm Dominican and I know good mangu. It was missing some flavor. Dishonest and untruthful! There was a problem with an order for delivery. After I paid for it I was given notice that delivery would be in eight hours. I immediately sent an email to them and also to the delivery company telling them to cancel the order and don't deliver it. It was delivered eight hours later and I refuse to accept delivery. I called Don Café and the manager told me he would take care of it and call me back that day. He didn't call back. I tried to reach him the next day but he refused to take my calls. I was there a couple weeks ago, the food is good. My son was visiting from Pennsylvania and when he flies into West Palm we go eat there. On this particular night, we ordered 2 kids meal, 1 entree and 2 sandwiches. Our server when we asked to pay she shows my son her hand held machine where she takes the orders, she shows him the amount , he tips he 20% of the bill, which is good. Unfortunately she does not tell him tip is already included she was upset when we asked for the check and said something. She gives him the 18% she added without saying a word which was about $11.59 but kept the $16.50 he added. I'm a server and we ARE SUPPOSE TO TELL OUR GUEST TIP IS INCLUDED, always up to the guest to decide if they want to tip extra. After speaking with the manager Olmer he said he would handle the situation, finally after 2 weeks was able to pick up my son's money, So her being greedy received nothing as a tip. The food there is actually good, but that was absolutely wrong, Make sure them servers give you a receipt because who knows how many times she's done this, wish I can remember her name, and like I told the manager it's not about the money it's about the principle . We will never go there again. read more
