However, the moment you walk in the door you know that the correct decision was made and you MUST get a table. The aroma of steak and pork grabs your olfactory senses and whets your appetite. Then you notice how every single table is occupied by very happy diners and it's not even a decision to not wait your turn. We only had to cool our heels maybe 10 minutes before we were seated and we both got the Mofongo, which is a plantain-pork amalgamation of flavor and fun. Paired with your favorite meat, it's a winner. The staff is fun, knowledgeable, and they serve up the fare FAST. We ate every bite. La Casa Mofongo is THE place for Dominican food. Worthy of a return to try something new.

The flavors were rich, comforting, and straight-up authentic. You can taste the love in that food. And let's talk portions... they are NOT playing with you. I had enough leftovers to run it back for dinner later, and it still tasted just as good! The service? Super attentive and welcoming--exactly what you want when you're trying to sit, relax, and enjoy a good meal. And the decor is such a vibe--cute, cozy, and full of personality. Even the restroom had a unique touch... a big pot turned into a sink! Like... come on, that's creative Will I be back? Oh absolutely. Probably next month though, because it's about an hour drive for me--but listen... it's worth it. If you're ever in the area and craving real, authentic Dominican food... don't even think twice. Just go.

We've found our new go-to spot for authentic Dominican cuisine--Las Americas Restaurant. From the…read moremoment you walk in, the Caribbean-inspired décor sets the tone, and the bar at the center of the main seating area adds a lively, local vibe with patrons enjoying drinks and music. Our waitress was friendly and helpful, recommending the Mofongo con Camarones al Ajillo, which came in a rich, creamy garlic sauce--absolutely delicious. We also ordered the churrasco steak, perfectly grilled and served with a flavorful chimichurri sauce. What really stood out were the traditional Dominican offerings you don't see everywhere, like Con Con/Pegao--the crunchy rice from the bottom of the pot, which was a nostalgic treat. For drinks, we had the Morir Soñando (orange juice with condensed milk), refreshing and sweet. We were a party of six and seated comfortably without issue. Overall, Las Americas offers great food, a warm atmosphere, and an authentic local experience. We'll definitely be back!

The word unique gets thrown around a lot when people talk about dining experiences, but in the case…read moreof Chivo Linero, it genuinely applies. What makes a dining experience truly unique can vary, but for me, it always starts with the food and this restaurant delivers something you rarely see in the U.S.: goat as the star of the menu. Goat isn't a common staple in American restaurants, and many people I've spoken to describe it as "gamey" or assume they won't enjoy it. That's exactly why Chivo Linero stands out. Not only is goat their specialty, but it's also proudly reflected in their name chivo meaning goat in Spanish which sets the tone before you even walk in. Tell The restaurant sits in a plaza I've driven past countless times without ever noticing. If it weren't for the sign out front, I never would have known it was there. Inside, the atmosphere is warm and inviting. Earth tones flow throughout the space, everything feels intentional, and nothing seems out of place. We ordered a shareable plate featuring goat prepared three ways baked, stewed, and braised along with churrasco steak, rice and beans, and a side of plantains. The braised goat leg was the standout for me: incredibly tender and full of flavor. We also tried the chicken strips, which were impressively seasoned. For dessert, we had the coconut treat served with ice cream, and it was phenomenal. If you're a coconut lover, it's a must‑try. Overall, the experience was excellent, and I highly recommend visiting Chivo Linero if you're looking for authentic Dominican cuisine and a dining experience that truly earns the word unique.

Open arriving at the parking lot and seeing how deserted the place was, I had a feeling in my gut we had chosen the wrong spot. Came in and we're sat right away. There was only another couple dining in at that time, on a Saturday at 6:30pm. Against my better judgement, we sat down and browsed the menu. We decided to order and make the best of our evening. The menu had several dishes that didn't sound like a bad idea. Service was great but then again, it was just us. Lol. We dined in for approximately an hour and within that time, another couple came in. Appetizers and courses came out very quickly. We had the yuca empanadas for our appetizer. They were really greasy but not horrible. For our main course, I had the mofongo stuffed with churrasco and a side of tostones, my husband had the fried pork chunks with white rice and red beans. My churrasco was a bit fatty and chewy and the mofongo was on the dryer side. We both ordered cocktails, they were both very heavy on the alcohol but not too bad. I'm almost certain we will not be visiting again but I'm glad we checked them off of our list.

Let me start my review by saying the food was really good and worthy of a 5 star rating on its own…read more BUT...my experience with this resturant is a classic example of how service can just take away from the food quality. My work colleagues and I were greeted by a friendly host and sat at a table. But everything from service went down hill from there when our actual table server arrived. We were immediately greeted with "You ready", with a frowned face. We asked for water with lemon (never received) and was later served water from a pitcher (without lemons) only later to see an adjacent table served water from a picture with lemon and orange slices. Didn't make much of that. But when our waiter returned to take our order the second time, again with the same "you ready" frown faced I asked for help with the menu. I could hear her sigh so loud I wanted not to believe the feeling that we were bothering her in some way; and there was maybe only a quarter of the tables with customers. After placing our orders I asked my colleagues if they were getting the same vibe as I was from her and they both felt the same way. From my seating angle I could see this young lady server when she approached the front bar/seating area of the restaurant; which appeared to be where the other waiters all gathered when waiting. But I noticed her smiling and engaging in friendly conversation with two customers sitting at the bar. I noticed this difference from how she treated us vs these other guest throughout the entire time. With them she was smiling, engaging and not in any flirtatious way, but seemingly just being nice....being a good waiter. Clearly she was choosing NOT to be nice to us, and this bothered me internally because I did not know why. Our friendly greeter from when we arrived was seen serving another table and whose behavior was consistently friendly with everyone. So why the difference with our waiter I kept asking myself. I still gave a generous tip despite this service. It was important to me to do so, but I probably won't be back here, and this would have been a nice place to go back to with mi amor.
