We had very good food here at this relatively new Dominican restaurant -- and that's why we would return. However, be forewarned that it is very loud inside. The music was blaring, and people were yelling conversations across the room. Then there were some large parties of folks who were enjoying all talking at once -- and having to be loud enough to be heard over the music and the other patrons. Eeek! We came for lunch. This location used to be another restaurant, but the interior has been totally remodeled. There's a picture of a goat in their logo outside and that looked intriguing. I wasn't sure what the name of the restaurant meant so I turned to google to find out that in the northwest Dominican Republic there is a signature/popular local goat stew. And that's what the name of this place means. And yes, there are quite a few goat dishes on the menu, but many other types of meats, etc. as well. My husband had their stuffed avocado with crab meat to start. The avocado was served warm. Each half had grill marks on it. And it was stuffed with a crab mixture. Two different sauces came with it -- one like remoulade and one spicy. It was very good. He also had a couple meat/beef empanadas. They looked lovely. He said they were excellent. I had a fried pork chop. It came with a choice of two side. I chose moros and sweet plantains. Their moros are pigeon peas in yellow rice. There were two large pork chops in the order. They provided a very sharp knife to cut the chops and I used that as they were a tad tough from the frying. My only wish was that they'd had some sauce to go with the chops. I used some of the remoulade from the appetizer. And took half my meal home. My husband said there are a number of things on the menu he'd like to try in the future. I know we will be returning.

Damn it I'm doing it. 5 stars. Was going to go 4 stars because the service was kinda slow but once the food came, daaaayyyyyuuuuummmm, it really did knock our socks off!! The surf and turf wasn't on the menu, and the steak was grilled to perfection. The chivo osso bucco was AMAZING as well. The flan for dessert is home made and delicious. Definitely coming back for breakfast or lunch or both. The vibe was cool, good music, clean place, boho chic yet modern tables and chairs. This is now my favorite Dominican restaurant. Check them out. And someone please claim this place and give it some notoriety.

Mangú ,trio of empanadas, Cafe con Leche

Craving Dominican food or wanted to try it - this is an outstanding restaurant. Located in a small shopping plaza with ample parking. The interior of the restaurant is beautifully appointed with comfortable seating. Service was very welcoming and polite. I was missing Mangú- the Dominican Republic's national breakfast- made up of mashed plantains, fried ham & cheese, eggs. The Mangú was so so delicious! My parents lived in the Dominican Republic many years ago and the taste brought back fond memories. The trio of empanadas (beef. chicken , and cheese ) were perfectly fried with a thin crust. Cafe con Leche was perfectly prepared. Definitely give them a visit!

The flavors were rich, comforting, and straight-up authentic. You can taste the love in that food. And let's talk portions... they are NOT playing with you. I had enough leftovers to run it back for dinner later, and it still tasted just as good! The service? Super attentive and welcoming--exactly what you want when you're trying to sit, relax, and enjoy a good meal. And the decor is such a vibe--cute, cozy, and full of personality. Even the restroom had a unique touch... a big pot turned into a sink! Like... come on, that's creative Will I be back? Oh absolutely. Probably next month though, because it's about an hour drive for me--but listen... it's worth it. If you're ever in the area and craving real, authentic Dominican food... don't even think twice. Just go.

Open arriving at the parking lot and seeing how deserted the place was, I had a feeling in my gut we had chosen the wrong spot. Came in and we're sat right away. There was only another couple dining in at that time, on a Saturday at 6:30pm. Against my better judgement, we sat down and browsed the menu. We decided to order and make the best of our evening. The menu had several dishes that didn't sound like a bad idea. Service was great but then again, it was just us. Lol. We dined in for approximately an hour and within that time, another couple came in. Appetizers and courses came out very quickly. We had the yuca empanadas for our appetizer. They were really greasy but not horrible. For our main course, I had the mofongo stuffed with churrasco and a side of tostones, my husband had the fried pork chunks with white rice and red beans. My churrasco was a bit fatty and chewy and the mofongo was on the dryer side. We both ordered cocktails, they were both very heavy on the alcohol but not too bad. I'm almost certain we will not be visiting again but I'm glad we checked them off of our list.

Our waitress was friendly and helpful, recommending the Mofongo con Camarones al Ajillo, which came in a rich, creamy garlic sauce--absolutely delicious. We also ordered the churrasco steak, perfectly grilled and served with a flavorful chimichurri sauce. What really stood out were the traditional Dominican offerings you don't see everywhere, like Con Con/Pegao--the crunchy rice from the bottom of the pot, which was a nostalgic treat. For drinks, we had the Morir Soñando (orange juice with condensed milk), refreshing and sweet. We were a party of six and seated comfortably without issue. Overall, Las Americas offers great food, a warm atmosphere, and an authentic local experience. We'll definitely be back!

Let me start my review by saying the food was really good and worthy of a 5 star rating on its own…read more BUT...my experience with this resturant is a classic example of how service can just take away from the food quality. My work colleagues and I were greeted by a friendly host and sat at a table. But everything from service went down hill from there when our actual table server arrived. We were immediately greeted with "You ready", with a frowned face. We asked for water with lemon (never received) and was later served water from a pitcher (without lemons) only later to see an adjacent table served water from a picture with lemon and orange slices. Didn't make much of that. But when our waiter returned to take our order the second time, again with the same "you ready" frown faced I asked for help with the menu. I could hear her sigh so loud I wanted not to believe the feeling that we were bothering her in some way; and there was maybe only a quarter of the tables with customers. After placing our orders I asked my colleagues if they were getting the same vibe as I was from her and they both felt the same way. From my seating angle I could see this young lady server when she approached the front bar/seating area of the restaurant; which appeared to be where the other waiters all gathered when waiting. But I noticed her smiling and engaging in friendly conversation with two customers sitting at the bar. I noticed this difference from how she treated us vs these other guest throughout the entire time. With them she was smiling, engaging and not in any flirtatious way, but seemingly just being nice....being a good waiter. Clearly she was choosing NOT to be nice to us, and this bothered me internally because I did not know why. Our friendly greeter from when we arrived was seen serving another table and whose behavior was consistently friendly with everyone. So why the difference with our waiter I kept asking myself. I still gave a generous tip despite this service. It was important to me to do so, but I probably won't be back here, and this would have been a nice place to go back to with mi amor.

Staff was welcoming and I cozied right up at the bar to wait for my friend. I was immediately brought chips and salsa and a cold beer. We ended up sitting at a high top and our waitress suggested that I try either carne asada from the Mexican menu or Vaca Frita from the Cuban menu. I love me some carne asada but I was intrigued but this 'fried shredded beef' that was marinated in mole and cooked in a hot skillet until crispy. She suggested sweet plantains to go with it and white rice with beans which is traditional Cuban (instead of yellow rice). IT WAS FABULOUS! It was crispy on the outside and juicy. The mole was flavorful but not spicy and i appreciated that the meat was not dripping in sauce. My dinner date ordered chicken tamales which were seasoned in a Cuban style with yellow rice. She is used to Mexican tamales but said these really hit the spot! The only blemish on the nice was her second margarita which was the cucumber one which she didn't like at all. However, the first one she ordered (pictured) which was a different flavor was a show stopper.
