Pescado frito con arroz, y frijoles

I was in the area of Lake Worth and was looking for somewhere to eat nearby, this popped up. I saw how it was an outside only seating area and it intrigued me alot . Looks like something I would see on almost any corner if I went back to my mom's home country. The vibe, the music and the outside area was what i expected, it was comforting and familiar almost. The food was great, I loved every bite and they bring some warm thick tortillas too. The only thing that absolutely sucked was the service. I went with my boyfriend and his dad and his dad tried to make friendly conversations with the waitress but she'd rudely look at him like he had 7 heads and would just ignore him. It upset me a lot, I even had to ask her if she was okay?. Other than the absolute terrible service. This place is great.

This is a quaint neighborhood bar and restaurant, all patio style. It was close to the Art Fest on Sunday and I wanted to eat some pupusas and have parking before getting to the busy area. This spot was perfect!! We Sar at the bar for attentive service. Drinks were very reasonable, beer was only $4!! Our quick meals were very budget friendly and I got to try out a cool authentic pupusery. I was impressed with its Palm tree shades patio extension. Nice, airy, yet provided shade from the hot sun. Their parking lot was small. I opted to park across the street further east. My car was fine and the walk down Lake Ave was short. Service was friendly even when we had to use Google translate at times. Our food was excellent! I took some home to enjoy later at night. Go where your path takes you and enjoy the sites along the way! Loved this place!!

El Carbonero is a mostly outdoor Salvadoran and Taqueria place in Lake Worth. Reasonably priced Tacos, Pupusas, various plates, very good Micheladas. Feels like a place in Mexico or Central America. Food solid, but service can be a little slow.

Food was so amazing, service was great, cheese pupusa was the BEST I have ever had. Had 2 Al pastor tacos, were amazing. Got all this for under $9 and I am so full. Also recommend the blackberry juice but it's a little pricey $5, but giant cup of it l. Totally recommend, might be new favorite Mexican restaurant

I try to exercise daily and walk 2-3 miles, 4 days a week. On my route, I pass this spot and one evening it was crazy-packed so, I decided to see what the hype was all about. I went Saturday for lunch, sat outside on the very nice, shaded patio. That's where the compliments stop. When the server finally arrived, she wasn't pleasant. No smile, no welcome, just matter of fact. Took our order and came back with the food. Never checked in. Didn't ask if we wanted anything else, nothing. The food arrived hot back the fish I ordered was way over cooked and lacked flavor. The tacos were dry. Needless to say, we won't be back. The pina fresca was great.

Pupusa loca and the memories of lengua tacos

The food was great tasting, specially for the price. If you don't to enjoy eating outdoors better order to go...... the staff was friendly. They get a lot of traffic from regular and local customers which is a good sign. I ordered the lengua tacos and they were very good. Also had the "loca pupusa" (it has all the available ingredients) which was auténtica. Only the curtido could have used more fermenting. That's just my personal preference.

The plates were visibly…read moredamaged, with melted burned plastic visible, and no wrapper in between the food and the plate. The cheese on the pupusas was visibly not melted, despite dining in. The slaw also looked less than appealing- it seemed like a different combo than I am used to here- but also just looked old. On the upside, my son loved trying his first pupusa (without slaw). Service was wonderful, and I love supporting local businesses. I can see from my previous photos that the plates were ceramic. Maybe it was an off night?

After reading an updated review from Sr. CM West Palm, Melodie M, we just had to come here for…read morelunch to try their pupusas while in the area. In fact, I'd never had a pupusa when some time back I read another review from Melodie and decided to try them. We found a Pompano Beach restaurant near our other residence that we frequent with Salvadorean food and have now visited often. When we came in, I guess they could tell we were "gringos", so they switched servers to one with better English. But we usually can get by with our school Spanish okay. Most people dining here were Spanish speaking, but you should be comfortable if you don't know the language. My husband decided to have a pupusa with beef and cheese along with a salad. The salad came out first. It was a plate of lettuce with tomatoes and cucumbers and some ranch dressing. His pupusa came with coleslaw. And they put a container of thin red sauce on the table for us to share. He said he thought the pupusa was good. He also got a passion fruit drink, medium size, to have with his meal. I had to try the "squash flower" one (per Melodie's review) so I ordered the loroco pupusa. I looked this up to see what these flower buds looked like. As mentioned online, this unique green vegetable was a bit crunchy and reminded me of a broccoli stalk or asparagus spear. But it is unique to El Salvador and used in Salvadorean cooking in many different ways. There was more cheese than loroco in the pupusa. It was fine. I'm glad I tried it. But I also ordered a "mixed" pupusa (revueltas) of pork, beans, and cheese and this one was the better tasting of the two, I thought. Of course, I put the slaw on top of the pupusa and sauce on top of that (as I'd learned from Melodie) and that really makes the whole experience in one delicious bite. I didn't realize how large the pupusas would be, so I'd also ordered a coctail de camarones. Not to be confused with an American shrimp cocktail, I'd had these when they've been made like shrimp ceviche or like the one I had here. The cooked shrimp was mixed in a remoulade dressing (mayo based) and topped with pico de gallo and avocado pieces. It was very good. It was served in a sundae glass. And came with a package of crackers, as well. Now that we've come here to try their pupusas, I'd also like to try one of their signature soups and other meal specials. Prices are quite reasonable. Please note: This isn't fast food as everything is cooked to order, so just be prepared if you're really hungry for a short wait.

I ordered the grilled steak quesadillas which came with crema, pico and chips and salsa. It was ready in no time and absolutely delicious. Definitely worth the $15. Inside the restaurant is very spare and basic. You order and pay at the counter, and they bring your food to you at the table you've chosen. There's a lot of Spanish being spoken. We decided to share their sampler which was a choice of three tacos along with a side. We each chose one of for us alone and one to share. He got the lamb chorizo one. It was ground lamb with onion, mint, and cilantro. I got their grilled shrimp. It also had shredded cabbage, , guacamole, and cilantro. I chose to have the chipotle aioli on the side. I really liked my taco. To share, we went with the birria. This was very tender shredded beef, cheese, onion, and cilantro. It was a bit messy and drippy, but very good. I never even needed to dip it in the side "sauce" that it came with. The side was esquite salad. A pasta salad with corn and other veggies like small pieces of green and red peppers. There was more pasta than anything else. This was just okay. They had a number of Mexican sodas to drinks in various flavors, agua fresca, and horchata. They had a bar there also on the side of the room with "adult" beverages, but it didn't open until the evening. My favorite of the things we had? My shrimp taco. Prices were fairly reasonable. And food came out pretty fast considering that they were very busy.

No sales lleno... sales derrotado. Si no has ido, ve. Si ya fuiste, sabes que digo la verdad. Y si sales con hambre... hiciste algo mal.

When my bill came the waitress already added her tip to my bill when she gave it to me so it came a bit pricey. Not sure if I'll come back here in a long time.
