My friends and I were looking for a local spot to grab takeout. We came across this spot, and we're sure happy we did. We called in our order and it was ready within 20 minutes. The food was absolutely incredible. Between the 5 of us, we got 2 burritos, enchiladas, fajitas, and tacos. Everything was extremely tasty. The sauces were all super flavorful, the meats were juicy, and the rice and beans were great additions to the meals. Also the chips are freshly made and come with tasty salsas. This is a great spot for authentic Mexican food. The portions are also huge. The place is very spacious and well decorated too. Next time, I would dine in! read more

Ordered take out for lunch and it was really good. I got carnitas flautas and it was delicious. It was a bit dead inside the restaurant and there was only one staff member. I can't speak on the service much as I didn't have a sit down dinner but it does seem short staffed. The ambiance inside was inviting. Absolutely fantastic!! We had seen this place about 9-12 months ago and didn't have time to stop. This time we made a plan to see a movie at Lake Worth theater and eat here. A great choice!! I was craving tacos for taco Tuesday and I'm so happy I stopped into Veracruz! The wait staff was very nice and attentive. They do play music but it's low enough to hold a conversation. They have a stage so I'm assuming they have live music on some nights. They have a great taco Tuesday deal with $2 & $3 tacos and drink specials. I ordered the steak tacos, birria tacos & guacamole. 10/10 for everything!!! It was flavorful and fresh. I especially loved the homemade corn tortillas! I also got the mango margarita and it was perfect. I'm surprised this place wasn't packed! I'm hoping more people discover this restaurant because I need it to stick around!! read more

Food was good, atmosphere is good but the night we went the service was slow. Will go back to try again to see if that was an off night.

We had come here a little less than a year ago. I remember enjoying our meal then so wanted to come back. I was less impressed this time. When we arrived at around 3:30 or so and walked in, it was awkward. Maybe because we don't speak Spanish but there were about 4 people sitting around the bar who I thought may work there but no one said a word of acknowledgment and just looked at us. Finally somehow we were signaled to take a seat wherever we'd like. We were given chips and salsa and I've honestly never had worse. The chips tasted like a vat of oil and the salsa was just a red sort of sauce. No onion, no tomato. But not great at all. They do have specials and when I pointed to the $5 margarita special, I was told it was $6. Ok. Not a big deal. But confused even further. We both opted for the $9 burrito special. At least that was decent I guess for $9. The margarita was very good. I did ask for some onion or pico de gallo for the burrito just to add a little more than the small amount of lettuce and tomato and sour cream and was told it'd be extra. Fine, I don't mind to pay if I ask for extras. I wasn't charged in the end. I must admit the beer prices were not too bad compared to some places. For me, it's all about the chips and salsa and that sets the tone, in my opinion. I even thought maybe they changed ownership since our last visit but when I asked, was told no. We felt a little like foreigners in a different land upon entering which we can navigate through but due to chips and salsa, won't be back for that reason alone. We stopped in here for lunch as it was in a convenient area to our errands. There was a sign out front listing some evening specials but no mention of lunch. When we got inside, we were first given dinner menus and later their lunch specials menu. If you come for lunch, during the week, make sure you get a chance to see this menu. And look at their daily offerings, as well. We've been to this location before. It has been a series of restaurants over the years. They have spent some money on redecorating, and it shows. I'm hoping they can be successful here. We sat at the bar/counter -- it is large. They also have some booths against the far wall and tables in between. We started with (comp) chips and two salsas -- one with a bit of spice and one plain. They are made in-house. My husband ordered their burrito and I ordered their chicken fajitas from the lunch menu. His ground beef burrito came with a bit of salad on the side. My fajitas had yellow rice, salad, refried beans, and warm tortillas on the side. The chicken was a tad dry so I added some salsa that we had with the chips to it. And requested some salad dressing for the greens. My husband used the salsa and the ranch dressing to jazz up his burrito. I'm glad we came. Now we won't be wondering. read more

We just came back from Veracruz Restaurant where we went with some friends. The food is authentic and delicious. They first brought us complementary nachos and salsa, I loved their homemade salsa because it had a subtle taste of pepper that I found different. My wife had the enchiladas and I had the Veracruz fajitas. Normally the steak, chicken and shrimps come in a sizzling pan where everything is still cooking, and the rice, sour cream, beans and salad are in a separate plate. Here, as you can see in the picture, everything comes in the same plate. It doesn't really matter because it was amazing. My wife said that her enchiladas were delicious. Our friends took the same plates I did and they loved it. For dessert I had the flan. The service was very good, our server Helen was knowledgeable, friendly and professional. The ambiance was festive with Christmas lights all around. We had a booth and it could have been more comfortable because we were sitting on wood, but next time we'll ask for more comfortable chairs. While on vacation in the W. Palm Beach area I found a nearby Planet Fitness to keep up my exercise routine and noticed in the same plaza Veracruz Authentic Mexican Food. Well later that same day I headed back to give it a try. Upon entering the restaurant, you will be impressed at how big the dining room area is! On the day and time that we went the restaurant was only occupied by a few tables, which made me wonder when it is so busy that all the tables could actually be filled. We were quickly greeted by our Server, David, who appeared to be working solo but was very attentive and friendly over the entire time we were there. The food was freshly prepared and served piping hot. Full of great flavor and was delicious even the chips and salsa were great! I really got a kick out of the little wooden boats that rested on the tabletop of every table with the name Veracruz on the side that held the condiments. That was an interesting thing that you will not find elsewhere. Also, it is important to highlight that this restaurant was immaculately clean like none-other that we have been to before and so noticeable that I have to emphasize it to you. Also, the prices are so reasonable, and I was stuffed when we left. I thought afterwards that for such great quality of food, service, and experience How can anyone not be impressed at having their next meal at Veracruz! I only wish I lived closer so I could frequent this restaurant more often. read more

We were in the mood for Taco Tuesday and decided to try someplace new. When we arrived we were greeted by patrons who gave it rave reviews, so in we went. We were not disappointed! I had heard about this restaurant by someone who once came for a Hispanic event that was packed out. Decided to give it a go without looking at the menu beforehand (rare for me). Upon entry, I noticed although it appears small from the outside it's actually quite spacious inside. I ordered shredded chicken tacos with a Paloma as my beverage. I also tried their House Margarita--both cocktails were AMAZING! Not too sweet, not too strong, just right. The tacos could've been a little bigger in portion but they do come with a side of rice, refried beans and a side salad. I felt the service was quick and all the employees were very friendly. Later in the night, a group of people came in and they started dancing on the dance floor. I would definitely come back, as my first experience was positive and try something different on their menu. If you want a "mom and pop" place feel to your Mexican restaurant experience, make your way over here asap! read more

Recently went to Veracruz for dinner with my wife with great expectations from our last visit. What a let down. Even though the restaurant was not busy, it took ages to be served and unlike out last visit where the food was fresh and delicious, it seems out food was sitting under hot lights for some time as it was luke warm when it finally arrived. Bland and frugal with the cheese and sauce, both of our entrees were disappointing. The staff were pleasant as always but just couldn't seem to get their act together - asked for water and it never came, asked for sour cream and after 20 min, had to ask a 2nd and 3rd person before it was brought over. Overall disappointing and will have to look for another Mexican eatery to replace this one - sad as we thought it had potential to be a regular stop on our calendar. read more

Gave this place a second chance, I thought maybe I was off the first time, but I guess it wasn't me, 1st time I ordered the shrimp Ceviche, I asked not to put ketchup in it and when I got it that's all I could taste . 2nd time I ordered the small guacamole and it was brownish, and the appetizer corn tortilla with shrimp that took forever when there wasn't too many people had no flavor and the tortilla was more like an arepa. I do have to say both servers were good and the ambiance was nice. I don't eat red meat or pork, maybe those are better? read more

What a find on the way to Movies at Lake Wirth. Family run, everything homemade-- lovely people and the food is terrific. My barometer for good Mexican food includes a good mole sauce ( here with chicken enchiladas), great homemade Guacamole and salsa, warm home-made chips and home-made tortillas. Veracruz checks all the boxes, in a more upscale setting than the usual. As a plus (if you have room) the desserts are all home made and include tres leches cake. read more

Last night my husband, a friend and I tried Veracruz for the first time. Very large restaurant and maybe four tables were filled. I guess because of off season and the end of August. We got our menus and drinks pretty quickly. We ordered and the food was served timely and hot. However, the food was very salty and there is not much else I can say about it. I ordered chicken enchiladas and all I could taste was the salt. I also heard the waitress say that they use mozzarella cheese. Why would I want mozzarella in a Mexican restaurant. At about 8:30 the music started. There was a singer who sang to recorded music which would have been fine except for the volume. The noise level was unbearable. We never finished eating but that was ok because the food was not good anyway. Combining this with the noise level we got our. check and. left. Once and done for this place! read more

Looking for authentic fresh made Mexican Cuisine? Come to Veracruz. I went with friends and had the beef shank soup.... So delicious! Went back with the Mr today for lunch. The black beans are wonderfully seasoned and so yummy. A dish with her homemade tortillas make a great treat! Had the picado with pork carnitas. This is a new dish to me. A thick corn soft "Gordita"'ish tortilla on the bottom, topped with the best black beans, scrumptious pork, avocado, plantains, topped with Mex cheese crumbles.... The flavors went together so well. I am told the owner is the Chef. She cooks with love and passion. Service is great, the dining space is huge. Great for parties. They have full bar and the bathrooms are immaculately clean. We love Veracruz Restaurant! We initially started coming for their amazing margaritas (highly recommend the passion fruit one) and then kept coming back to try the food. They recently started making their tortillas from scratch and are phenomenal. The service is always great and the food seems to get better and better. We have become huge fans of their lunch menu, specially the beef smothered in sauce it is unreal good. Most of the times we've visited it's quiet with few tables which we find pleasant but we've also been told it's a great late night music and drinks spot on the weekends. Pleasantly surprised tonight! Decided to try Veracruz. The piña colada was really good and tasty. But the bar is full serviced and with a big variety of refreshments! Ordered the enchiladas with red sauce. 2 ground beef and 2 pork carnitas. You can order them however you like and with a variety of sauces from the red to green and even mole. Food was really good, looked great and tasted great! For dessert a tres leches. A huge hunk more than enough to share. It was good and of course I couldn't eat a small bit....forced myself to eat it all! Awesome experience and wish these guys the best. The restaurant was clean, cheery and tons of space. The food from the moment the chips and salsa was served we knew we came to a great place! Food was served hot, friendly and the restaurant was very festive. We ordered Carne Asada served with Rice, Beans, fajita's, Guac, and in lieu of salad I had sauteed onions and peppers. Sooo good! Authentic and Delicious!!!! Visited this weekend. Restaurant was very clean and service was great. Chips and Salsa came out and the chips were great, but the salsa not so much. Ordered Fajitas and they were good, not fantastic but good. I would recommend the restaurant and try for yourself. read more
