    Salteado and empanadas

Absolutely amazing. My only suggestion is to toast the bread a little less because I was hard to chew through. Other than that, it was delicious!! I tried all three empanadas, all were great.

The food was so good, as I am writing this review, I want to go back for more lol! They have a selection if a few different sauces to add to your tacos. The tacos were authentic, flavorful, and rich, and honestly delicious on their own, but I like to add the sauces and the lime for absolute perfection! The plating was ornate. Service was nice, they are very quick and efficient. Ambiance is fun and inviting with cool art on the walls, it would definitely be a nice pitstop for a group of friends! I got their horchata and it was VERY creamy, which I love. Overall, a great experience and am already planning my next adventure back!

I've been to El Rucon's food truck and Haverhill restaurant but it was pure excitement when I found out they would be opening a location in walking distance of the office. It is such a vibe as soon as you walk in. The music is bumping and the staff are welcoming. They are very knowledgeable of the extensive menu. So many tacos to choose from. Birria is never disappointing especially if you get it with the dipping soup. Pastor and chorizo are also some of my favs and part of the taco Tuesday specials. When we ordered the steak tacos in a combo for the office they were kind of dry. Pastor fries are also a cheesy delight. The pork is always seasoned to perfection and the pineapples give it a sweet and savory taste. My latest favorite is the chicken tacos dorado. Pretty messy with the lettuce, cheese and sour cream being outside the fried corn tortilla. The shredded chicken is so juicy and sweet. Be sure to follow them on social media to hear of all the specials they offer and any new menu items.

The food was absolutely incredible. Between the 5 of us, we got 2 burritos, enchiladas, fajitas, and tacos. Everything was extremely tasty. The sauces were all super flavorful, the meats were juicy, and the rice and beans were great additions to the meals. Also the chips are freshly made and come with tasty salsas. This is a great spot for authentic Mexican food. The portions are also huge. The place is very spacious and well decorated too. Next time, I would dine in!

Inside it's very decorated with flowers, signs, hats, and colorful designs. Lively Mexican music was playing. They have a lunch specials menu. I took advantange of that and ordered their shrimp fajitas. First came a large plate with yellow rice, refried beans, and pico de gallo. I left off the lettuce. A separate colorful basket with a lid was delivered next with hot tortillas wrapped in foil -- that kept hot the entire time. And a sizzling skillet came with grilled onions and peppers and shrimp. The meal was delicious. I even took some home including all the tortillas. My husband was in the mood for breakfast -- which they do all day. He got their huevos ranchero. The two lightly fried sunny side up eggs on top of a tortilla were covered with sauce and cheese. The plate also had refried beans, rice, and salad. He said it was very good. Just what he was in the mood for... We'd definitely return here. Service was also very good. And there are a lot more things I'd like to try on their menu.

I will say they could use a little better lighting, as the place does look a bit dated, but maybe that's the look they're going for. I've heard this restaurant has been here for about two years, and somehow we didn't know about it until a few weeks ago. Onto the main dishes! I had the Vaca Frita with white rice, black beans, and maduros, and everything was packed with great flavor. My wife had the Birria Tacos, and she said they were excellent. Of course, I had to try the consomme and what a mistake... because now I'm hooked line and sinker. It was so packed with flavor that I even started dipping my Vaca Frita in it. This is definitely a hole-in-the-wall kind of place, and I mean that in the best possible way. Don't miss out on it! I've seen some people complaining about the gratuity already being included on the check. Stop whining and tip what you should. If you have a problem with tipping, don't go out to eat at a restaurant with waitress service. The additional tip option at the bottom of the receipt is simply there for those who want to leave the full 20% or more. If you don't feel they deserve anything extra, then leave it as is. We will definitely be coming back. The scary part is just how local and convenient this place is. Ha!

However, I know from traveling that some of the best spots are ones that appear to be a hole in the wall. I walked in, very cute inside! Staff was welcoming and I cozied right up at the bar to wait for my friend. I was immediately brought chips and salsa and a cold beer. We ended up sitting at a high top and our waitress suggested that I try either carne asada from the Mexican menu or Vaca Frita from the Cuban menu. I love me some carne asada but I was intrigued but this 'fried shredded beef' that was marinated in mole and cooked in a hot skillet until crispy. She suggested sweet plantains to go with it and white rice with beans which is traditional Cuban (instead of yellow rice). IT WAS FABULOUS! It was crispy on the outside and juicy. The mole was flavorful but not spicy and i appreciated that the meat was not dripping in sauce. My dinner date ordered chicken tamales which were seasoned in a Cuban style with yellow rice. She is used to Mexican tamales but said these really hit the spot! The only blemish on the nice was her second margarita which was the cucumber one which she didn't like at all. However, the first one she ordered (pictured) which was a different flavor was a show stopper.
