After getting a referral from ortho, I was for a looking for a place to do my PT treatments that was covered by my insurance. I called a few PT offices and ended up going with Peak because it was close to my home. I able to get an appointment around one month from when I first called Peak. This seems to be typical as most offices I called was booking around one month in advance. The physical therapist I worked with was Michi. She was super caring and professional throughout all of my treatments. Each week I saw measurable progress in my mobility. I went from not being able to walk to being able to do squatting, jogging and jumping after several months of treatment. I also enjoyed talking to Michi during our sessions - she is kind and definitely tries to get to know her patients at a personal level. Thank you Michi for helping me with my recovery!

Thanks to her guidance, I'm getting back to my daily activities with confidence. She's one of the best PTs I've worked with, and I wouldn't hesitate to see her again. The reason I'm giving Peak Physical in Mountain View 4 stars instead of 5 has to do with the facility itself - not the care. There's a persistent foul odor coming from the back of the office. I was told it might have been from wet doormats, but even after they were replaced, the smell stuck around. While wearing a mask helped a bit, I genuinely feel for the PTs and staff who have to deal with that every day. I encourage office management / owner to investigate thoroughly to rule out any underlying issues - whether it's mold, plumbing, or something like a dead rodent in the walls or ventilation system. The team here is outstanding, and they deserve a workspace that's just as healthy as the outcomes they're helping patients achieve.

I am 80 years old, and this past summer, while walking down the stairs, I heard a sudden "pop" in my lower right leg near my heel. It was immediately clear that something had torn. My orthopedist placed me in a walking boot and, once it was removed, prescribed physical therapy. Having previously received treatment at Breakthrough on three occasions, I returned with complete confidence in their care. My physical therapist, Elizabeth Segovia, had also worked with me following a full knee replacement. At that time, I experienced significant difficulty walking longer distances, and my altered gait was beginning to compromise my hip. Her prior treatment was highly successful, and I was pleased to work with her again. Following a thorough evaluation of my recent injury, Elizabeth developed a structured rehabilitation plan beginning with four targeted stretching exercises. She provided both printed instructions and online resources to ensure I could perform the exercises correctly at home. During each session, she carefully observed my technique, offered constructive feedback, and demonstrated proper form. We met twice weekly, and she consistently evaluated my progress, thoughtfully adding new exercises as my strength and balance improved. Over time, my program expanded to include eighteen different exercises addressing strength, flexibility, balance, and overall stability. Elizabeth is exceptionally knowledgeable. She clearly explained which muscles each exercise targeted and the specific goals of every phase of treatment. Her explanations gave me confidence in the process and a deeper understanding of my recovery. In addition to her expertise, she is personable, patient, and encouraging--qualities that made each session both productive and reassuring. The Breakthrough facility itself is bright, clean, and well organized, offering a large gym area as well as private treatment rooms. Each therapy session lasts forty minutes--longer than sessions at some other facilities--and includes an additional ten minutes of icing and/or electrical stimulation, providing a comprehensive fifty-minute appointment. As a result of Elizabeth's expertise and dedication, I have regained strength, balance, and mobility. I am now able to walk long distances, play pickleball, snow ski, and cycle. I am truly grateful for the outstanding care I received and would highly recommend Elizabeth Segovia and Breakthrough Physical Therapy to anyone in need of rehabilitation services.

I learned more about my body in one session than anything I've learned from YouTube videos or AI in the past decade. We started the session off by going over my exercise and injury history. Then we went over what exercises I do and Queene chose a few of them that were likely causing me problems given my history. She has great experience and intuition about what's going on with my body. We went through the exercises and her intuition was right every single time. These exercises revealed imbalances between my left and right side that I had no idea about, and Queene helped adjust them with proper form and range of motion. She also added a few more exercises. All of this resulted in my body loosening up, with much better range of motion on my squat, and my lower back felt better after a previous tweak. Then, we did some massage and cupping, which was helpful for figuring out more things that were going on with my body. We finished with foam rolling to help address all of the issues that Queene found. At the end of the session, Queene asked if she could give me a hug. That tells you everything you need to know about the kind of person she is. I left the session impressed by Queene's depth of knowledge and her ability to give thoughtful feedback. Most importantly, her genuine care for others shined through--she took the time to educate me and help my body move better with less risk of injury. Her care for others extended beyond my session. When I was working out with a friend afterward, she took the time to teach him new movements and cues for his sports training. I can't say enough good things about Queene, Joey (the founder), and Progressive Motion as an organization. People there were friendly, caring, and knowledgeable. Fitness is one of the pillars of mental and physical health. Progressive Motion is the place to go to address all of your fitness needs.

I had basically given up and came to believe that I would be living in pain for the rest of my life. Eventually I stopped doing PT and would just pay lip service to the idea of it. It was only after I starting going to Progressive Motion and seeing Bryan Mai, who taught me about properly stacking my hip and ribcage and breathing into a hardened lower abdomen while lifting, along with proper form adjustments during specific movements like deadlifts, squats, etc, that I found that I could actually live life without recurring pain. I am now starting to believe once again that my physiotherapy exercises actually help, and do them consistently. So thanks Bryan and Progressive Motion in making me believe that my PT exercises actually do make a difference!

After she worked on my viscera, I immediately felt lighter on my stomach without the bloated feeling. While we did functional retesting, I could turn my trunk to both sides a lot easier, and bending backward also became easier. I am able to activate my core a lot faster after that single treatment while performing my gym routine. Right after the visceral work, my appetite immediately came back. The result lasted for weeks! On my second visit, I had acutely hurt my ankle during a intensive workout. In mid stance and terminal stance of walking (when my foot is on the ground) I had pain up to 6/10, and in active ankle dorsiflexion and plantar flexion (bending and pointing the ankle) was 4/10 pain. After she worked on my ankle, the pain was gone during walking and in closed kinetic chain gym exercises, while moving my ankle to end ranges in open chain went from 4/10 to 1/10 pain. Her touch is very soft but precise. Interpersonally, Sloane is an excellent active listener and knows how to make you feel very comfortable with her soothing tone of voice and expertise. Highly recommend!
