We've been to the original location in La Brea. The hot dogs are good lots of choices but not as much here at Cinema West obviously. There are two kinds of people those who like snappy dogs and those who like soft steamed dogs. I like both depends on mood. Chicago dogs are my favorite. Also. The Italian beef sandos. But that's another story. The beers are great and the bartender/bar-back is cool. He was talkative and nice. This place has become relatively more busier in the last few months. Word of mouth has gone up. We use to come to matinee or on a weekend and we be sitting with two or four people only. Its OK, because they won't close down now lol. Enjoy! read more

I recently went to pinks in El Segundo after wanting to try the new location for awhile. First off this is a satellite location so they only offer a fractions of the items you can get at the OG location. As I walked up I was immediately greeted by staff who asks if I had any questions. Since options were limited I went with the bacon chili cheese dog and order of nacho fries and a soda. My total came out to be thirty something so needless to say if you're looking for a cheap lunch this ain't it. The hot dog itself was ok, it tasted the same but I wish they would've cooked my hot dog a little longer, it seemed a bit undercooked. The fries were great and tasted the same. The dining area it self had a few booths and a sitting area right outside not to mention a bar with seating. Overall it was ok but I doubt I would visit again. I work in El Segundo but live in the valley so I'll probably stick to the LaBrea location if I want a pinks dog. read more

I'll be honest and biased. I used to go to the original Pink's on La Brea Ave since the 1960's. Paul Pink, the owner, was my friend until he passed away in 1996. We used to joke all the time about his feud with Tom Koulax, owner of the Original Tommy's hamburgers. Ironically, Tommy was also my neighbor and really disliked Paul Pink. It was all about "my chili is better than yours." I love the original Pink's. I stop by whenever I'm in the area. I don't mind the frequent wait. Lots of good people line up there and we can have quality conversations about sports, politics and life in general. The Nash St Pink's is not the original and lacks its charm. While it's owned and licensed by the Pink's enterprise, I was able to walk up, get my order and sit down to eat within 3 minutes. The staff seemed lackadaisical, no thank you, just took my money and silence. The chili hot dog was very good. Five times the cost of a Costco dog (which lacks chili) but I went there for the nostalgia. Sometimes nothing beats the original and I can say that about the Nash St location. I'm not complaining about the meal. I've dined for years on Pink's hot dogs and hamburgers. It's practically a piece of my life I just wish this location was more alive. read more

I'm honestly a bit surprised that Pink's Hot Dogs is rated so poorly. I suspect many of the positive reviews might've ended up bundled under CinemaWest Beach Cities instead. My wife and I had a 10:30 a.m. showing, and we placed our food order about 10 minutes before the movie started. Pro tip: don't be like me -- arrive earlier if you're planning to grab food from Pink's. While they were quick with our order, I still missed the first few minutes of the movie. Totally my fault. Theater food is usually both overpriced and terrible -- but here, only one of those things was true. Yes, $8.20 for a medium soda is criminal, but the $14.53 hot dog and $8.43 chili cheese fries actually felt pretty reasonable for the quality. I'm a sucker for anything with BBQ sauce, so when I saw the Olympic Ring Dog -- topped with BBQ sauce and onion rings -- I knew I had to try it. Since we ordered at the counter, I was able to ask for the onion rings on the side. As many reviewers have pointed out, the hot dogs here have a great snap when you bite into them. I loved the texture -- even more than a Costco dog, which says a lot. But the real star of the visit was definitely the onion rings. Hands down, the best onion rings I've ever had. Perfectly fried, shatteringly crispy, and impressively, they were still crisp three hours later when our movie ended. Just like the onion rings, the fries used for the chili cheese fries were extra crispy and held up surprisingly well under the weight of the chili and cheese. I don't normally go for chili cheese fries, but I found the chili to be super flavorful. If they added beans and a little heat, the chili would be even better. If you're catching a movie at CinemaWest Beach Cities, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend grabbing a hot dog from Pink's, especially the Olympic Dog -- which comes with what might just be the best onion rings of all time. read more

Pinks has a counter and full bar in the front of the new Cinema West Beach Cities. You can enter and eat and not see a movie. There is also a large patio with Pinks Hot Dog umbrellas. We ordered the plain ones and added condiments. Why? It's $5 for a plain and everything else was like 3x that. Classic Pinks dog with the snap as you bite into it. $10 for 2 was better than 15 for one with bacon. You can order at the counter or at the kiosk. Staff was friendly and the hot dogs came out fast. Will be interesting to see how this goes as it was the first night. read more

I was craving a Pinks hot dog so I stopped in at the El Segundo location to check it out...Hot dog $10.95 - $14.50 plus fries another $6.25 + a soda for $7.50...that's almost $25 and I stood at the bar area for a moment or two. The bartender/host didn't even acknowledge me to say, I'll be right with you! So I left and spent my money on delicious Mexican Food down the block at El Tarasco! Twice the price and half the selection of the Hollywood location. This is an example of branded locations being a poor representation of the primary location. This restaurant has a bar atmosphere in a movie theater lobby instead of a hot dog stand with outdoor seating. You can bring your hot dog into the theater and try to eat a messy hot dog in the dark if you want. Once a guy came out from the back, service was fine, but he could have used some competent help. read more

I don't normally do this... but I honestly couldn't go on without writing this. I can't justify the price I paid for the food and service my party and I received. None of our food was warm and seemed to just be reheated. Every time I chewed my Mayberry Dog, it would literally squeak in my mouth. I can safely say I've never had a dog like that. The service we received was also weird. Everyone was "nice", but when someone from our party accidentally ordered the wrong thing, they were salty about it and acted like we were over the top. Like I get it that once you place an order it starts to get made but it was RIGHT after and we were very apologetic and were genuinely so nice about it. Overall, for the squeaky dog, lukewarm food across the board, and passive aggressiveness, it wasn't worth the high price point and doesn't hold a candle to the Hollywood location (which I've gone to many times)... I work in the office building across from this restaurant. I have been there 2 times with a friend. This was at lunch time. I had to hunt for someone to take my order and both times it took at least 35 minutes to get an order for 2 hot dogs. By the way there was nobody else in the restaurant so we were the only customers. The Pink's inside the CinemaWest in El Segundo needs some serious rethinking. First people need to realize that this is NOT the same hot dog you get at the original Pink's on LaBrea. This place is simply a Franchise. that means they use the same recipe chili that the original does and probably buy the same hot dogs as the original, and get to use the name, but the similarities stop there. I bought two chili dogs, an order of onion rings and one Diet Coke for $40. The dogs were barely warm, the buns were dry and off the shelf, and there wasn't enough room temperature chili on the dog to even attempt to drip on my shirt. Anybody who has eaten on La Brea knows that a chili dog is almost a knife and fork event. But the crazy part is to even get my food, I had to order from the bartender ... who was busy being a BARTENDER. Which meant I had to wait until everybody had cocktails before I could even order. Once I was done with the bartender, I had to retreat around to the other side of a wall and wait for my food from a miniature take out counter set up just for Pink's. Here's an idea ... just make that little counter on the other side of the wall the place where you ORDER AND PICK UP YOUR FOOD. Millions of great hot dogs are sold from a cart on wheels every day. This place has a full modern kitchen and they can't serve a hot-hot dog. Buns are supposed to be steamed, not simply taken out of the package. And the chili needs to be HOT. I really want this place to do well, but come on .... there are very few menu items in this world that are easier to prepare than HOT DOGS! It should not be an impossible task to get it closer to right. BTW ..... to hot dog eaters everywhere ....please quit using COSTCO ($1.50 w/bev) as the standard for a GREAT hot dog. read more

Gross and expensive. Why cant places like this operate like they are an actual functioning restaurant instead of an airport kiosk? Like providing good food for a reasonable price? Absolute garbage here for $88 for 3 people. On the plus side, no tip as you order from a kiosk that doesn't have a description of what you are ordering #SMH. Go to Johnny Rockets across the street or McD's and save yourself some money and gastro issues. Also, this place has the weirdest set of instructions on where to pick up your food and condiments. I was looking forward to experiencing Pink's famous hot dogs, but they didn't highlight that you pick up the food on the other side of the wall away from the bar area where you order it on a touch screen. My food was cold and not too appealing by the time I realized I needed to go around the corner as I was waiting in the bar area (maybe 20 minutes from ordering). The bar area looks like where you eat the food with tons of tables and I thought they would call out my number or have the food appear at the bar top where I could see it and go get it. Some better signage on top of the kiosks directing you to go around the corner would help (just not laid out well). The sign above the order take out area is not visible when standing at the kiosks. The BBQ hot dog with onion rings was just ok. Hot dog was too dry and onion rings too crunchy, but maybe hot out of the oven they would be better. I did like the chili cheese fries. read more

The standard chili dog with mustard and onions was $12.50! Yikes! Almost double the price of the Hollywood stand. Also, the configuration is a little weird, order in the restaurant and pick up is on the other side of a wall and extra /condiments are all the way across the movie lobby nowhere close to the restaurant. There is a cute outdoor area with nice seating and pinks umbrellas. Soft drinks were movie sized and priced accordingly. Service was good, but it was pretty empty, not sure how the weird configuration will work once the word gets out and more people start showing up. read more
