Weirdest experience coming here. I asked for chili cheese dogs family meal but because I had to drive quite a way I asked that they please put the chili on the side instead of the dogs so they won't get soggy. They refused and said I HAD to buy them wili chili on them. I asked that they don't give me the chili at all then and to please give me plain dogs. Still refused! Wienerschnitzel Lawndale is THE WORST! Their employees are all the lowest of all human forms! I have been verbally abused 3 out of the last 3 times I visited! Once was the manager because I questioned the pricing - I was told, "The price is the price there is no sense in you arguing". How is that a nice way to talk to a customer? My last visit I ordered with the ai voice at the speaker. I said plain "yes" and "no" when the ai asked me questions (no please or thank you). When I'm craving a hot dog, Wienerschitzel is my dog chain of choice. I go for an all beef mustard and onion with consistently positive results. The skinny fries ain't half bad. Love that this location has maintained the classic Wienerschitzel restaurant architecture. Nothing fancy but it works. I am a regular customer and usually , the food is fresh and hot. Today I drove through on a Sunday and my order completely wrong and my fries were SOGGY and COLD. So I drive back to the store and tell them what happened and the nice young lady , who I am familiar with , told me "no problem , just drive through ". She asked me if I wanted them to remake the order. I said YES , because everything was cold. I get my replacement food and appears that the fries were just put back in the oil, as they were GREASY and SOGGY. The hot dogs were even colder than before , and I suspect they just gave me my old order back , but added onions which I had requested from the start. I Don't I will EVER go back there on SUNDAYS, as the ladies, who are normally there during the week are off on Sundays. They are always VERY NICE and ALWAYS get it RIGHT. I must have caught them on a bad night. I got a Kraut Dog with no sauerkraut. I ordered a Kraut Dog, which normally comes with sauerkraut and mustard. Today I asked them to add grilled onions. He repeated it back to me, and when I got home I discovered I had a dog with no sauerkraut, and no mustard. Just grilled onions. Could someone please tell me, did I order this incorrectly? The workers are usually friendly at this location, there are a few that seem miserable. The food usually comes out in a timely manner, but sometimes the accuracy is a bit off. The problem I have with this place is that they need to wear gloves when handling food. I guess no lessons were learned from Covid. I clearly watched the food preparer turn her head to cough sniffling then went back to preparing my hot dog with no gloves. My stomach turned just thinking about what could be on her hands. Upon arriving at 1:40pm, there were a few people in the drive thru so I decided to walk up to the window. Bad idea! I stood at the window by the staff was too busy to look my way. I counted the minutes(6 minutes), still nothing. I said "hello, can someone help me?" The staff continued to work. I said can I have the manager? No one looked or moved in my direction. I asked 2 more times, "CAN I HAVE THE MANAGER?!" One of the staff told me (in spanish) the manager is at the other window. Finally the manager named Jason came over to my window. This hot dog hut is good, it's a drive through primarily, with some seating outside. It opens late and the service thus far has been fast, friendly and most importantly when opting for fast food and having custom requests as I sometimes do, it's ACCURATE. It's convenient with decent parking, and an organized drive through. It's located across the street from the South Bay Galleria Mall. Sometimes they have youngsters (and by saying that and using that term, I must be old!) hanging out late at night. It's odd to drive by once in a while and you see girls in their sweatpants and looking like wearing pajamas sitting outside, almost like a red light district, but I don't think it is in reality. The hot dogs are good, I prefer the Chili Dogs here. Chili adds a lot of flavor, and in fact they should start selling bowls of Chili. They once had this item called "The Sea Dog" which was basically a Fish Stick in a Hot Dog bun, which was actually very good. They had a bacon wrapped street dog which was good. They do seem to test market new menu items now and then. Their french fries are excellent (I'd rank them right below McDonald's and higher than Burger King, Carl's Jr. and Jack in the Box) and the burgers here are good too. I'll say for my neighborhood, Wienerschnitzel over coupons, which is good, every week or every other week (at least once a month) it seems they have their ads in the junk mail circulars that come on Tues/Wed in everyone's mail boxes with all of the supermarket ads along with Carl's Jr (who over coupons). There's always fantastic deals for meals under $5, and big family bundle deals too. Disclaimer to my review on Hot Dogs... Generally, I may have a minor psychological phobia against putting phallic shaped foods in my mouth ('tho sometimes nothings hotter than a haute women eating a hot dog, think about that...), and couple that feeling with a slight prejudice against mixed meats (a hot dog sometimes is like bologna in a rubber casing, sort of like a condom tube)... however, once in a while I will forget about my fears and crave a good hot dog. When I do get 'em, I like 'em ideally grilled so they're butterflied and cut open, and then the casing is crisp and snaps to the bite, and they don't look so intimidating. I was just kidding for the most part about the former, but serious about the later. I like 'em on the grill and crispy. Oh, I'd also rather have a Wienerschnitzel hot dog over PINK'S any day regardless of the distance, waiting line or price. I do like Carney's Hot Dog's 'tho as well as Canter's. I'm far from an expert nor connoisseur of the tube steak 'tho, so take my review with a grain of sale. read more

Normally great serves but they are forgetful and they have a history of forgetting stuff which has taught us to double check the bag. Today was the worse customer service ever. I have been working customer service for over 15 years and if anyone I worked with pulled this I would have them written up faster than they can blink. We pulled up to place and order for 6 people the gentleman there took it read it back but didn't tell us the total. Ok odd whatever. We roll forward to pay and he takes my card then he asks if we have cash or venmo or cash app um no why you can't take card he says no so we said ok so I guess cancel the order he says fine and turns his back to us and ignores us as we ask him if we can bring cash back. One don't turn your back to a guest, two APOLOGIZE apologizing goes along way, three don't ignore a guest, and four inform the guest before they place the entirety of their order that your card machine is down. My very first time at a Wienerschnitzel! I wanted to try the pumpkin shake and it was good, although too sweet as most drinks generally are. The bratwurst was surprisingly good, although it was about half the size of the ones you get at Fiesta Hermosa. It was nestled inside a soft hot-dog type bun with grilled onions (hold the mustard, please!) and would have been better on one of those large buns that are a little chewy on the outside. But then you would have needed a bigger bratwurst. I'm glad I went! read more

Last night my boyfriend and I went to this location to pick up some chili cheese dogs with ONIONS! While through the drive thru I mentioned twice that I wanted onions on them. Well the person taking the order was very friendly and read the order back right and even offered us a special. As we left we checked our bag for the correct order and everything was there. My boyfriend and I talked about how great the customer service was. Until we got home.......... We opened the chili cheese dogs ready to eat them come to discover no onions were put on any of the eight of them! Well, we live 5 miles away and we were pissed needless to say! Not only that, but the bread was different and thick and seemed to be stale. We have never had this problem before. Without onions they're tasteless in my opinion. I'm not a four-star fan of Wienerschnitzel because their frankfurters do not have the snap of an excellent frankfurter. The snap is caused by its natural casing, but Wienerschnitzel uses skinless frankfurters, which have a mushy texture. A hot dog aficionado's technical note: a frankfurter means the sausage that's inside a "hot dog"; the "hot dog" means the frankfurter-plus-bun combination; and so a "hot dog" is not the same as a "frankfurter". There are a lot of fast food places that have gone downhill over the years. Wienerschnitzel does not fall into that category. The Hot Dogs are great. Nice creative spin on things such as topping a dog with Pastrami. Just simply awesome. The fries are really good when it comes to a fast food places friend, think JUST under Rally's/Checkers fries. You can get that cheesy cheese whiz cheese here but it is a perfect touch for the type of place it is. When you first register as a California resident you get bombarded with Coupons in the mail. They are really excellent deals. Like too good to refuse. The final thing I am going to say about 'Das Wienerschnitzel is that it has a REALLY good Pastrami sandwhich. LA, although it has a good food scene in its own right, parades around like it is a "Pastrami City." Places boast about their Pastrami sandwiches, some places have even been on TV proclaiming their Pastrami is that good. It simple is hot that Pastrami is just cut too thick out here, the pieces of meat fall apart and theres no greasiness or fat to it. Wienerschnitzel is the exception to the rule. The Pastrami here is legitimately really good. I haven't been to Langor's yet but so far this is the best Pastrami I have had in the Southland. The only thing that could really improve about the Pastrami is the portion size. Wienerschnitzel is a winner in my book.
