It came on a nice thick bread filled with a generous portion of meat. Really tasty & even though I didnt eat it right away the bread wasnt soggy. They are right across the street so I may drive to the lot right next to the truck or just run across the street ! Or have a car full of luggage from your flight to Maui since it's just down the way from OGG airport. Malasadas put donuts to shame!!! ESPECIALLY if you like gooey fillings & toppings. My favorite ones are around Christmas but they have tons of regular fillings. I can never get less than three because I can't pass up my chance to try new ones. They have wonderful staff... especially the manager Sabrina...really know their way around dough and they do not scrimp on the Malasadas itself or the fillings! They ONLY cook just for you... so plan a few minutes wait but they have picnic tables under a tarp right there or you can walk around the other food trucks. We had the Nutella and the Lilikoi, and they are absolute units--massive, beautiful and perfectly executed. The pastry is light and incredibly fluffy, but stays dense and decadent because they don't skimp on the filling (it's actually in the center, not just a garnish on top!). The Lilikoi was a total standout--bright, fresh, and perfectly tart. I found myself breaking off the flaky layers just to dip them into that golden center. There was a really good filling to croissant ratio in this one. However, I did appreciate the strength of the lilikoi flavor in this croissant, and the filling did taste fresh. - Macadamia Nut Latte ($6.85)- we both got ours iced, 12 ounce and with regular milk. We honestly enjoyed these lattes more than the croissants. The macadamia flavor came through quite strong (in a good way) and was pretty unique. She posts pop-ups on her Instagram acount at @mauipastryayu and you seriously need to be quick. They sell out in a flash! Thankful to Bethani for giving me the heads up and hooking it up! Because of her I was able to try two delectable cheesecake flavors: Caramel Apple Cheesecake with walnut & graham cracker crust and Dark Cherry cheesecake with walnut crust. Oh my goodness, every single bite was heavenly. My favorite of the two was the caramel apple! I am not super into cheesecake, but swear, these didn't taste as heavy or overly sweet and oh the walnuts in the crust were absolutely perfect! The shortbread cookies were outstanding--deliciously buttery and melted in my mouth. Melissa, the manager, was both professional and very knowledgeable. When you enter the shop, you'll find yourself right by the kitchen, surrounded by an enticing selection of cookies, banana cakes, and other treats. Icy Bubble had a lot of people going in and so we spontaneously went next door and put our pizza on one of their small tables. It was game over. My mini was throwing a tantrum and wanted to eat asap, so we quickly ate our food there. Then we walked around a bit and I kept seeing all the treats everyone was going in for and walking out with. They have so many cute items and there's a Lego wall. We are definitely going back and spending a bunch of money lol. Check them out.
