    Still my favorite place to buy beef jerky and tastes as good as always! I've been coming here since I was a child with my grandma. This place brings back memories. Chinese jerky is very different from American jerky. It is slightly translucent, not as dry or tough, and sweeter. Ping's sells pork and beef jerky in sweet and spicy variety. The pork jerky is less dry than the beef jerky, but I prefer the classic sweet beef jerky. It is currently $32/lb, a bit expensive but worth it! You can purchase a quarter or half a pound as well. Cash only! The store front isn't marked in English as Ping's Dried Beef (it's in Chinese), just locate it based on the address or images of the store front. Don't be alarmed when you enter the place and find it cluttered with random stuff, you've found the right place. It's a small family run shop and I believe the back of the shop is their living space. They tend to sell out quickly since they don't make huge batches, so I suggest calling in advance (or waiting for the next batch). They're closed on Mondays.

    Their jerky is as good as it was over 20 years ago. Very little has changed inside the store, but the quality of their pork and beef jerky is still the best around. The BIG change is that you SHOULD contact John (the owner) at least a couple of days in advance to let him know your order. Email him at JungsDriedBeef@gmail.com. You can probably also call, but try the email as it's much easier and you'll get a confirmation for your order. It's a little over $30 a pound for their delicious (sweet or spicy) jerky, but very well worth it! You can order in smaller amounts, like quarter pound) if you want to try a selection of their flavors. I recommend their pork jerky as the meat is a little softer and more moist. Their beef jerky is also good, just that slight difference. You will NOT get anything if you just drop into the store. Make sure to email your order 2-3 days in advance. This stuff is made FRESH for you and it does take that long to make. Well worth the wait, just plan for it! (Their jerky is in strips and not like the mushy soft jerky chunks that others do.)

    Great place to pop in for some Malaysian style beef jerky. They have been making jerky for generations. They have spicy and sweet pork and beef jerky options. There's no convenient parking on the same block, try the blocks on the adjacent blocks.

    I had high expectations for this place since it was in the short documentary video featured at MOFAD, which stated this hole in the wall has stacked high and fresh made sweet and spicy jerky known throughout southeastern China and how it has survived for decades and the recipes have been passed down through generations. Sounds enticing, doesn't it? Ppl rated it as the best beef jerky in Chinatown but I don't think so. My family and I have been going to this other place for years, Ling Kee beef jerky on Canal St. and I think they have the best, most variety flavors of jerky. So I actually stumbled upon this place while walking down Chinatown this past weekend and decided to give it a try. I walked in and nobody was there to assist me, all I saw were empty jerky jars. After standing there for more than 5 minutes, a guy finally came out with some beef jerky and I was excited but was told they weren't for sale..they were other people's orders. He then told me the spicy beef and pork jerky would take another 30 minutes to be ready and I knew I couldn't come back later so I asked if he can just give me a 1/4 lb of that person's order, which was the sweet beef jerky and he agreed. I immediately took one out bc I wanted to try it while it's still warm and fresh. I don't know about the spicy ones but this sweet beef jerky was quite disappointing. I couldn't taste the sweetness and I find their beef jerky to be very hard and chewy unlike the ones I usually get from Ling Kee.

    Passing by this old looking store front, I was told by friend that they sell the best tasting beef Jerky in NYC. I finally got the chance to walk into this no frills establishment on Sunday at 1:30pm. The place seemed very cluttered with random stuff. It reminded me of an episode from the TV show HOARDERS, but I didn't come here for the environment, I came for some beef jerky. When I walked in, all I saw were empty jars in the front. I thought maybe the guy was supposed to get the jerky from the back. But upon asking for some meat, the guy said sold out...come back later. WTF? Damn, I thought to myself...that's how good this jerky is? After walking around, I managed to walk back here at 4:00pm the same day and he had 2 jars filled with jerky. Asked for 1/2 lbs of the spicy beef for $12. Right when I exited, I took a strip, shoved it in my mouth and tried it. Tasted really good! It was spicy but not too overwhelming to take over the natural beef flavor. It does not compare to the beef jerky you buy in grocery stores. The consistency of it was very soft and a little moist from the spicy glaze/flavoring that coated the jerky. Best jerky I ever had.

    Because of the nostalgia factor I compare all jerkies to this family owned place. Fresh jerky that often sells out. It's also good to call ahead with special orders if you have them. We usually go for the beef or pork varieties that are not spicy. It is pricy though. About $15 for a half pound but I don't usually mind especially if you're aiming to treat yo self. Cash only! Check their hours too... I've tried to drop in a few times and they would be closed. I'm not a jerky expert but I really like this place!

    MY FAVORITE BEEF JERKY!! Have been coming here for 2 decades. This place is a hole in the wall. They sell out quick. You can call in advance to reserve some for pickup. They close on Mondays. $30 per pound. Cash only. I travel all the way from Boston to this shop at least once a year for the delicious amazing beef jerky. Beef jerky is made fresh daily.

    For my 200th Yelp review, I wanted to write about something that I've always taken for granted, to be there when I want it. Ping's Beef Jerky is a place my family would go to, to get fresh beef jerky and it seems they have been in Chinatown forever. There are only 2 other fresh beef jerky places in Chinatown. One is a Malaysian jerky place and the other is King's Beef Jerky on Bayard St. Is there a thing as fresh jerky? Yes. There is. Ping's is not prepackaged. Ping's has been around for a long, long time and so far back that I can't even remember how long ago. Family own and run, these are the little, interesting shops that haven't changed much and the jerky still tastes about the same as I remember it, even though some of the flavorings have gone. Unlike American jerky, Ping's is sticky, meaty and not ultra dry, tough or overly salty. The term finger-lickin' good should apply here. I remember there was an oyster sauce based sauce and one that is fruity and of course the spicy one. The pieces are uniformly cut rectangles, unless you get the nuggets. When we were kids we used to always complain about granny, who would give you a thick, heavy-duty plastic bag that must already weigh an ounce, and then fill it up exactly to a pound, no more, no less. Hey, how about deducting some weight from that heavy plastic bag? But nope, she was exact on the scale, hitting the mark every time and she has taught generations of others to be the same...except for today. I haven't been to Ping's in years and this time I ordered only 1/2 lb of jerky. Holy...what??? To my disbelief the scale was off by .01. I would say that is the weight of that hefty plastic bag which they still use. The price per pound is now $26 and they will sell the jerky in 1/2 pound as well and the flavors are sweet or hot in slices or mixed bits and there is also pork jerky. I do like the sturdiness of the bags as it has endured some happy cat teeth marks, as in my family, humans as well as cats alike have been able to sniff out the fragrant aroma that is Ping's beef jerky. Many a cat and humans have licked their chops at pieces of protein goodness. Don't be frightened by the messy background apartment- like setting you'll see along with the jerky stored in large, clear glass jars like candy but instead it's meat candy. Just think of it as a family who make jerky and sells it from their home.

    Love Ping's! Been coming here since I was really young. My whole family stops by every time they're in Chinatown. It's a small husband/wife establishment right next to Columbus Park. They close at 7pm, but come earlier though because they usually sell out on some of their main jerkies in the late afternoon. When you go in, you have to meet John. If you have a minute or two to talk to him, he's actually really funny and such a sweetheart. My personal favorite is their Spicy Oinkers! It's dried pork jerkies coated with a thin layer of honey and a dash of spiciness. I normally don't like spicy, but this flavor was very manageable. I'm almost regretting that I ordered a pound of the regular sweet oinkers and only 1/4 pound of the spicy ones. Will definitely come back to get more of the spicy ones. And...c'mon...how cute are the signs "Moos and Oinky".

    Amazing beef jerky. Just the amount of flavor that does not over power the beef. One of the oldest business in Chinatown, NY. Must try.

I personally don't believe peanuts belong anywhere near my bacon, but I respected the chaos. Massive cocktail shrimp with three sauces--we split those like civilized people. Cobb salad, for health. Obviously. Then came: Dry-aged porterhouse meatballs with gorgonzola crema and black garlic. Good--but in my world, meatballs belong in a proper red sauce. I'm traditional like that. Main event: Bone-in dry-aged prime sirloin. Delicious. Tuscan-style, not drowning in butter. Ordered medium rare... received "this cow has a LinkedIn profile." Sides absolutely stole the show: The Quality Potato (elite) Gnocchi & cheese (life-changing) Brussels sprouts (so we can keep pretending we're making good choices) Dessert:Carrot cake ice cream slice + espresso. Because at this point, why stop? Service was amazing--our waitress and busboy were so engaging they even brought us extra cookies. I felt seen. But the real stars: Definitely the bacon with jalapeño peanut butter jam so addictive, sweet and spicy all at once. I come back just for that. And the sides are everything. The mac & cheese is insanely creamy and comforting, while the Brussels sprouts are crispy, perfectly seasoned, and actually make vegetables feel fun. Overall, it's a steakhouse that gets it right, classic, chic, and reliable, but with just enough creativity to keep it interesting. Definitely a must-visit when you're in NYC and want a little luxe without feeling stuffy. I bring my parents here!

He appeared once to ask which side we wanted, delivered with irritation, and then vanished. When we tried to interact or ask questions, he acted as if our presence was an inconvenience. The behavior felt less like hospitality and more like we were asking for a favor ! as if he were paying for our meal rather than being paid to serve it. A reminder may be needed: servers are not doing charity work, and customers paying premium prices deserve basic respect. The entire mood of the evening was ruined. For a restaurant that charges what it does, this level of service is unacceptable and embarrassing. High prices do not excuse low standards. For comparison, Fogo de Chão consistently delivers professionalism, warmth, and respect ! everything this restaurant failed to provide. If management is comfortable allowing staff to treat guests differently based on who they are, that speaks volumes. Disappointing, overpriced, and poorly managed. I will not be returning.

Most of the space was taken up by the accompaniments that come with it (veggies, etc), so there was hardly any room to put anything else. It didn't help that none of our dishes were cleared once we finished them and that no rice is included. Aside from that, both the food and service were great.

Our two sets included marinated salmon, bluefin tuna, spicy yellowtail, spicy bluefin, and two dynamite temaki. ~ Spicky Pork Ssam Set - 5/5 stars Truly another standout entree that even surpassed my beloved grilled BBQ bossam. You received a generous basket of assorte greens, including romaine, kale, perilla leaves, dandelion leaves, nappa cabbage, and more. It is well worth the price and makes for a fun, interactive dining experience with your family and friends. There is also various banchan offered and this time, they were beyond kind enough to offer refills. The last time we were here, we ordered just as much food and they stated they normally did not offer refills, which I thought was very odd. With its casual bougie aesthetics, this spot has quickly become one of my favorite eateries in Fort Lee-lee, It beautifully blends Korean, Japanese, and American flavors in a way that feels both comforting and elevated. Needless to say, we will be back!
