I have to agree with this review from 10/14/2017 Good…read moreorganization but have to question how they pick teams. For many seasons, there have been teams that were far superior in athletics and much taller than other teams. In fact, one teams shortest player was taller than another teams tallest player. Ridiculous. It's obvious that these teams were pick d for their athletic skill and not for equity of other teams. Not just his season but past seasons as well. 6/21/1923 Grandpa Doug Y This season one team had 4- 6'-2'' tall players while the other teams had none. Would hope for a draft or random team selection to maybe get fairer teams. This past season at Patuxent Valley Middle school we had 2 great David vs Goliath games by the two of the 4 teams. The 4- 6'-2 players team met with A team with 1-5'-8'' player and over 5- 4'10'' players. One might wonder if there was a mercy score rule for the game the first time they played against each other. But on the last very last play of the game the taller team was losing and needed a touchdown to win. The receiver let the ball hit the ground but the referee signaled touchdown. The ref was shown on video that the pass was incomplete but said he could not reverse his call. These same 2 teams played for the championship a few weeks later. With the final drive started with the Tall team leading 7-6. The shorter team drove the field and threw a touchdown on the last play of the game. They head ref signaled touchdown. What a fun under dog win. But the coach from the tall team came out and argued that the receiver's flag was pulled before he got into the end zone. The ref had made his call but this time the coach got him to reverse it ?????. The small team players said that they saw their teammate catch the ball in the end zone and his defender grabbed his flag and threw it back on the field. I hope that wasn't taught. Still a great game with good plays by both sides. I think that there were many good lessons to learn. Size alone doesn't decide games. Referees are going to make mistakes but know what the true result is. If you played your best that is the win not a distorted score. Thank you i-9 for the hard work and sacrifice to make these two games possible.

The program has struggled to attract the number of players that some of the other teams that participate in the Mid-Maryland Football and Youth Cheer program over the last couple of years but they still develop strong teams through the strong coaching staff. At the younger age groups, the focus is on developing basic football skills. As kids move toward the older age groups, the game becomes more competitive and prepare players for high school football programs. If you have a son or daughter (yes, we've had some girls play football in the past) that is interested in football or cheering, I'd recommend considering the program.
