Her attitude was not pleasant. I ordered multiple tickets online well in advance and she seemed to get an attitude about not being able to find them at first. I offered to give her the invoice number or show her my online purchase. Her first immediate response was I purchase them for a different day. The second interaction was this same woman proceeded to charge at the main rink door yelling at kids and parents that they are not allowed to use the red "helper" walker things. She told my kids that she's too big. Then the older child in my group, she proceeded to tell her to give her the red thing. Her attitude was tone was aggressive and inappropriate. Management needs to take note of her terrible customer service. Perhaps if she is having a bad day at work, she should stay home. The food business was friendly. The rest of the atmosphere is very dated. That does not mean unmaintained, quite the opposite. The established looks very clean, and preserved: clean and well repaired. "Preserved", that's the word I would use. And for a child of the 70s and 80s, I could see myself having a Stranger Things party here with the setting already thrown in. We came here for my goddaughter's 7th birthday party. The party was around 30 kids. No problems were had regarding reservations or accommodations. The kids had a blast. The music was pretty loud, on top of a bunch of very vocal 5 to 8 years olds. They even had someone scouting the entrance to facilitate the admission of party guests.

There were some things that I did notice about this skating center. Pros: I loved the cute photo backdrops and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Cons: The music was lackluster because the DJ repeated several songs. The skates were so uncomfortable. My foot developed a blister because the inner soles were so worn down. They definitely need to get need skates. Also, parts of the skating rink floor was warped and unleveled. While I enjoyed my time, I doubt I would come here again.

The place is pretty easy to find though it is unlikely you'd just happen to drive by it, as it is kind of not on the beaten path. You can purchase everything ahead of time in terms of skate rentals and entry. It's pretty reasonable for one session mid-afternoon until close in the evening, you just need one entrance ticket/fee paid. You get your money's worth for sure if you are there for hours! You can bring your own skates or rent skates here- they have regular roller skates and roller blades. Both of these are in whole sizes, no half sizes, and both of them would be best on your feet with high socks that go to your lower calves, at least. Tying them tightly gives you the best skating, but that also pinches into skin if you don't have the right socks. They have an area for parties that includes a few arcade games, but mostly, you're there to skate. There are people there who are serious skaters going wicked fast and throwing some cool tricks, but we never felt bad in any way for not being one of the super talented skaters. There's a snack bar, too, with your classic fare like burgers, hot dogs, nachos, fries and funnel cake fries. Yummy snack junk food that makes the experience all the more reminiscent of young carefree days! They have lockers for your stuff, some don't even lock, but no one seemed concerned. There are benches for sitting and changing out your shoes to skates and vice versa, and people tend to just stash their shoes under the benches rather than get a locker. A good time all around and pretty affordable if you're there for a while!

I had my daughter's party at from 10-12 am Saturday morning. The time worked well for me. I booked my party on the website about a month out. There is a 200 dollar deposit that is non refundable that you pay at the time of booking. They said you are able to use it as a credit for another date if something happens and you have to cancel. They have a menu online that you can purchase food for your party. They have pizza, fries, mozzarella sticks, and assorted sodas. If you choose to bring outside food there is an additional 225 fee they will add on (75 for food and 150 for cleanup) . They allow you to bring a outside cake at no additional charge. We ordered pizza and fries for the kids. They used a Spotify playlist for music. Had a great time with the kids for two hours. Staff was friendly and helpful. Had a issue with the cake we ordered for the part not being delivered. Staff was very helpful. Even though they don't have cake they did give us a discount on some ice cream for the kids. The provided candles as well. They definitely went above and beyond to make sure my daughter had a great birthday.

I came to Yelp for deets and was led to the establishment's website by a previous reviewer. Because of the Pandemic, you have to order your tickets online. It was a very quick and convenient process & the skates were picked out & ready when we arrived. Be prepared with shoe sizes during the reservation. It appears that the ice skates are cut small, (or perhaps our socks were too thick), either way, I recommend asking for a size up because a few of our skates didn't fit & had to be exchanged. Thankfully, the staff members were very helpful. We went on a Thurs night and it was a decent sized crowd but not overwhelming. Parking is free. It's a nice, smaller rink, decorated with lights and plenty of seating for spectators. Everyone was wearing masks and hand sanitizer was available. They also have double bladed skates & penguin ice sliders available to assist the smaller children w/ their ice skating. (Some of the adults needed them too lol.) You are given a coupon for a $2 hot chocolate at the Thai restaurant near by with your purchase. This outdoor ice rink offers an affordable, safe and fun activity to do with the fam during the Pandemic. I enjoyed it and I think you will too. Check them out!

Which is a major plus…read moreas most rinks do not allow headphones and other rinks also play their music at a deafening volume. This rink is really chill on adult nights. They play a mix of house and r&b music that i really enjoy, and at a volume that I can enjoy my own music if i want. The crowd is very friendly and supportive, they skate with the flow of traffic. no extremely fast skaters that cut through the rink here. so if you want to relax and work on middle work you can without any worry of someone running into you. I have my own skates so cost to get in is comparable to other rinks closer to DC. this rink also allows you to bring your own water bottle which other rinks do not allow. I only wish there were more adult nights. Hopefully one day they will expand their hours because I would love to visit more often.

Admission, rentals, lockers, concessions... Prices are too…read morehigh. Period. (They charge full price for spectators) -First let's talk about what's good. The floor is truly the star of the show (as it should be) They have a decent sized wood floor that they sweep after each session and spot clean as needed. As an active member in the local skate scene I appreciate the care they take with the floor. -Now for the intersection of good and bad. The staff is made up of mostly young men and women. They are friendly and polite. Unfortunately good intentions can not overcome poor management. Sometimes water is free other times they charge you the price of a soda for it. The floor is often out of control as children skate in both directions with no correction. This is made worse when they play games and turn down the lights. The young men and women that work there don't seem to be "reading the room" effectively. The first and most important step in providing a safe environment to roller-skate in is having control of the floor. Obviously not a priority at Skate Zone. -Finally let's call this section room for improvement. I'm not about to say anything new here. If you spend a few minutes looking at other reviews you will find all of this repeated over and over again. Sadly as time goes on these shortcomings continue to get worse. They have more staff then I have ever seen at a rink and at the same time it is the most out of control floor. Somewhere near the beginning of each session they make everyone stop skating to listen to the rules/disclaimer. This is so ridiculous I honestly can not understand what they think this is doing other then annoying people. If it actual meant anything at all they would have to do it repeatedly though the session as people come in. It's one of the biggest tells that the people that run this place don't skate and are not interested in skating. They have some of the highest prices in the DMV and when you compare what you get for your money it's not hard to see why you do not find a lot of good skaters showing up at Skate Zone. They also have the absolute worst rental skates. Actually the worst skates that I've ever used. So what I'm about to say is going to sound strange. If you are a skater you have to go try these skates. I promise I can not convey how bad they truly are you have to experience it. They are in the process of updating them but last I saw most adult sizes are still the old terrible ones.

I don't know how this place can call itself a roller skating rink with that horrible floor. The skates were plastic and awful. I really feel ripped off and extremely disappointed. The chairs were disgusting. I washed all of our clothes and coats as soon as we got home. I will never be returning. Such wasted money. In addition there was a DJ playing music and it was so loud.
