This place is HUGE! Well, bigger than I expected! We were here to watch the lady Terrapins play UConn. And it was an intense game! We (Terrapins) had a pretty big lead, but UConn was not going down easy. It was a nail biter! What brought us here was a trip w/the AAU girls team. They were all excited. But yeah, there's plenty of parking; there has to be for a place this big. We parked a decent way back and walked up to the court with no problem. Oh, and parking is free. Make sure you don't have an umbrella or purse bigger than ......a big index card. They wont let you in. But, it's thoughtful of them to have a small trailer w/lockers outside in case you need to store something that can't go in. INGENIOUS! Of course the food is expensive, what did you expect? And don't think you'll be able to get 2 beers (one for you and one for your partner), because......... NO. You can only purchase 1 beer for 1 person. So, if you're doing the food & beer run, bring the other person or you'll just have to go back. The food options are okay; typical of the venue. The do offer Ledos pizza, which is pretty good. I also purchased chicken strips w/fries and dipping dots. Of course, leaving such a huge venue always calls for patience. They pretty much have it down to a science at this point. It'll still take you some time, but you're not there forever. I'd like to go back for another game. It's such a nice venue.

My daughters youth team came here the night before their championship game to watch the Lady Terps play Indiana. They were given pom poms, Terps shirts, arm sleeves and posters. They were excited watching the game, and loved being put on the jumbotron throughout the evening. When we got to the arena there was a section reserved for the team that read ""reserved for the fish sticks. The team name is the Mystics, but the girls started calling themselves the fish sticks after the first game..lol The stadium itself is really nice. The perfect venue to watch college basketball. There is an event packed into every time out, and any stoppage in the game which really keeps you engaged. They game itself saw the Terps lead by 7-9 points for the majority of the game, and hold on at the end of the game to win by the score of 67-63. After the game we were allowed to go down on the court to take team pictures, and hang out. We got to leave through the tunnel, and there were people taking photos with the players. Hopefully we can get back out to a couple of more games this season, and get some photos with the players. A good time was had by all in attendance, GO TERPS! Sidenote: The next afternoon the Fish Sticks won there championship game in a nail biter, with a final score of 15-13 #GOFISHSTICKS

Great venue to watch University of Maryland basketball. We went to watch the women play and the put on a good show, as expected. The atmosphere was fun and exciting and there really isn't a bad seat in the place. Go check out a game.

Came here for a basketball game. My cousin plays for the Wisconsin Badgers, so I figured I'd take the ride up to go see her! The GPS didn't get me there so I had to ride around, but it is a very nice location. We had floor seats right behind the team. The bathrooms were very clean and stocked. The concession prices were good. No complaints there.

Stopped here for a UMD game while in the area (obviously) and as a former Marylander- shocking I had never been to one. At any rate, being a newcomer there was a learning curve but my guide and veteran UMD booster did a great job navigating us through the lots and spewage. My first tip would be to get a parking pass and/or some type of permit for one of the closer lots. It's not that where we ended up parking was bad- but it did come with a walk and some time spent. On th way in, you'll drive past about 10 lots which are permit only... WITH A SENTRY AT THE LOT ENTRANCE to pop you. Again - get a pass or permit. We ended up following signs and parking in the credit card parking garage which is right next to the football stadium. The damage was $15 - which isn't awful, but again it care with about a 10/12min walk. Entry into the building was pretty seamless, they can scan your phone with tickets, place is clean and even though it was obviously busy, our section hallway never felt that way. Food lines were manageable, and the food prices were a little on the professional price level: meals were $17.50, drinks $6, fries $7. We shared a large beverage and a cup of fries. Added vinegar and old bay (impressed) and overall the snack was good. Would be back- would love to go to more depending on scheduling.

Previously known as the "Comcast Center" during my UMD days, this is the house of Terrapin basketball. This was also where graduations (including mine) and special events were hosted. The center has maintained its image and cleanliness over the years with the pristine champion trophies, spacious court, variety of food options, and efficient staffing. The parking lot has plenty of parking spaces. Very convenient if you have parking privileges. We don't and as alumnus, we park at nearby garages for a fee, or the beloved "Lot 1" after 4 pm for free! The staff at the entrance are efficient. I do think some of them try to give you a hard time, searching every pocket and Kleenex packet. And when did clear, empty bottles not allowed into the stadium? They were allowed into the football stadium four months ago. The food options has improved since my college days. Pastrami sandwiches. BBQ ribs. Kosher options. And Maryland Dairy ice cream! The best ice cream flavor is "Fear the Turtle" with vanilla ice cream, white chocolate, salted pecans, and caramel swirls. The food is stadium food so you can't expect too much. I do like the loaded tater tots. Avoid the cheese bites. The words "cheddar cheese" and "crab" will entice you but it's not tasty. The gift shop is small but has a decent selection of men, women, kids, and game accessories. It pays to be part, or have a friend that is part of the alumni association. You get a discount. I am a proud alumni of how well this place has kept. Go terps!!

World-class, all-purpose arena for sports, concerts and other student athletic activities. Opened in 2002, it is the home of the University of Maryland Terrapins Men's & Women's basketball teams. The Terrapins have one NCAA championship and 2 Final Four appearances in their history and this arena is a perfect showcase for the team. Many cities would be jealous to have an arena as nice as this to seat almost 18,000 people. In addition to basketball games, Xfinity hosts on-campus concerts as well as commencement ceremonies for all the colleges of the university (though one at a time). Very comfortable seating, convenient concession stands and VIP booths make you think that you were in a major city NBA arena and not a college campus in suburban Maryland.

This is a nice little arena. The views of the court were fanastic and the place was navigatable. I liked the lobby with pictures of notable Maryland alumni and coaches as well as the court from the Coal Field House. However parking is horrible. Most of the spaces are for either the Terrapin club or season ticket holders. Most available to the general public require a pre paid parking pass. I was able to purchase a ticket less than an hour before tip off but the website said all parking was sold out. Turns out the arena was practically empty with mabye 30% of the seats filled. What happens if it sells out? I ended up in a free lot behind Maryland Stadium, a good 25 minute walk after dark on an unfamiliar campus (thank you Google maps) Also the mobile ticket didn't upload and I missed part of the game at the ticket window to resolve the issue. Even as a Penn State fan I could easily give this place 5 stars if the parking was improved. But until then 3 is the best I can give.

Great place to watch a Terps basketball game. Every seat is a good one as you are close to the action. Went to see the young Terps play 5th ranked Virginia and it was a great effort. Lots of things go on to entertain kids and people who are not big basketball fans. Music themed videos during breaks and the Wall of Fame is great to visit

The staff is extremely friendly across the board, from security to concession workers. Everyone makes the experience easy and welcoming. Concessions are overall fair in pricing compared to other college stadiums. The $4.50 popcorn was fresh and tasty, and the $5 pretzel was fresh (though pretty average). The $14 tenders and fries were a letdown (chicken was overcooked and fries undercooked) but the $4.50 hotdog was surprisingly tasty. Beer runs between $8.50-$11 with a good variety, which is solid for a college stadium. As for the seats, they're standard stadium seating, but the design of SECU means there really isn't a bad view anywhere. The stadium also does a good job of getting fans excited. Overall, it's a very fun atmosphere with great energy, fair prices for most concessions, and staff who genuinely care about the fan experience. I've had a blast both times and can't wait for more home games this season.

It is an impressive campus with a diverse community of students and faculty. Our campus guide was a sophomore, she was an adequate enough guide. We were able to see the Terps baseball team practicing and getting ready for next season. This is a Division 1 (D1) school, the top echelon of school sports. The football stadium ranks up there with a few NFL stadiums. The stadium seats 46,185 and if you're into college football you know that doesn't include standing room. As we traveled from building to building there were so many students encounters going about their daily routines, students in classes, students studying in lounge areas students lifting weights, students working out and students just relaxing in the lawn. Once again I was impressed with the 8 libraries on campus. The school is in the process a building new dorm buildings and the few they have already finished look very impressive. Now the older ones not so much. A lot of the older ones had window ac's and again a lot didn't. This tour was very informative and my grandson was impressed however he's still weighing his options. https://www.reddit.com/user/JColangelo69/draft/5c6bd5be-7ff7-11ee-8716-6a366ab7e295…read moreFIJI (frat) during their pledge process introduce kids to this concept of agenting. Agenting is where the pledges essentially become bookies and their job is to recruit other kids to place bets with them and then the agents get paid in proportion to how much the people they brought in gambled. Kids who have graduated from this frat years ago are the ones who run this and make money off of it and that is why it continues on and every pledge class gets introduced to the concept. It opens the floodgates for gambling addictions by introducing the idea to pledges in a positive way and it is portrayed as an easy way to make money instead of what it actually is which is a hook to get the new pledges into gambling so that they place bets themselves and in turn make more money for the higher ups who have graduated and are now running this program. So when Lucca pledged fiji in 2018 they introduced him to agenting and he became a booky taking bets from other people which is how this whole problem started because once Lucca was into the agency he saw gambling as an easy way to make money and started betting himself instead of just taking other people's bets. Which is why when the first incident ended all those Maryland kids sent back the money because they didn't want their money making operation to get blown up by this whole scheme going public. FIJI got kicked off of Maryland's campus in the fall of 2018 before luccas pledge class was formally initiated into the frat so all of the kids in luccas pledge class included joined this other frat sigma nu. The boys who were brothers of fiji weren't allowed to join because the frat was kicked off but lucca and his pledge class were allowed because they were not formally initiated into fiji yet and therefore not fiji brothers so they were allowed to join another organization. So it is my best assumption that this scheme is still going on except now it is going on through sigma nu since fiji got shut down. My son Lucca Colangelo was admitted to UMD in 2018 when he was just 17 years old, Lucca attended Blind Brook High School where he was a captain for a baseball team and for a football team as well ( If you google his name, you will see how many awards he got ), Lucca was an A student and a remarkable athlete. Second year at UMD we noticed changes in Lucca, I reached out to the students help center and was told that UMD was a College and not a High School where parents got involved, I noticed a lots of illegal activities going on at UMD Campus and an E-mail was sent by me and I never got a reply. This school do not keep eye on what goes on campus, do not allowed parents involvement and close their eyes to serios matter like booking on campus, save your son's life, dont send him there. Making a long story short, Lucca becoming a booking and an agent in your fraternity, he come home unannounced in many occasions with other brothers to steal from us, it took me over an year but I finally gathered all my evidences about what really went on during these pledges, I even have police report from few occasions that we traveled to MD, I have evidences of what transpired and why FIJI was shut down, Lucca never graduated, he remains on a gambling / mental facility, and we got stuck with a college loan that we cant afford due to his mental illness created by your fraternity, I am ready to go PUBLIC with it and sue this entity.
