Greenbelt cinema offers awesome FREE activities for kids and those that help their community. They offered a free bag of popcorn, books, and resources to parents via a program through the University of Maryland. Story time is about 45 minutes, the story is on the big screen. There are dance breaks for the more active kids (mine), and there was puppet too. I think Greenbelt Cinema is awesome for pouring into the community and I will continue to support!

It's always clean, calm, and drama-free every time I come here. Plus, there's plenty of parking, which already makes the experience less stressful before you even walk inside. The seats are HUGE and super comfortable, perfect for a relaxing movie night. Service is efficient, bathrooms are easy to access, and overall the theater experience is consistently solid. For all of those reasons and more, my friends and I choose the AMC Center Park 8 Theatre on 4001 Powder Mill Rd in Beltsville.

They have a rewards program that I signed up for while there awaiting the movie to start and the manager was not then happy to tell me about. They seek adult beverages as well which is nice and I was able to get my unsalted popcorn which was awesome but it did come in a smaller portion size than what I'm used to. The movie was a lot better than I had expected and I loved they had Christy and the screen writers there. What an awesome opportunity this was.

AFI is a delight because they provide access to an incredible catalog of films and, as a cinephile, you'll find yourself consuming them with fellow addicts. How often have I come here for something like a 1940s Italian neorealist black and white on a weeknight and felt to myself like here with these people I belonged? You can't beat it. This is a theater that takes film seriously, that loves film. It doesn't really matter if I drive or metro, it's a hike either way...and yet I just keep coming back more and more often because there aren't many treasures of DMV arts and culture that beat AFI.

You park and then an elevator takes you upstairs, right next door to the theatre. When you walk in, enter your licence tag on a little handheld. This tags your car for free parking, up to 4 hours 2 floors. We sat in Auditorium 7, Row 4, end seats 8-11 My seat was a little hard. Not as comfy. There was 1 Man working the the entire auditorium for food/drinks etc. He was nice, however, this made for a slow service Popcorn was good. Chicken tenders were just okay. The screen was huge, and the theater itself was clean and comfortable. The only downside was the bathroom. There weren't many stalls, and most of them were pretty dirty. This Regal is one of the only IMAX theaters in the area so I was excited to try it for the Odyssey. The line for concessions was long but moved quickly. I ordered the Flamin' Hot Cheetos nachos which I thought came with BOTH Cheetos and Nachos; however it was explained to me that that it was served with Cheetos OR Nachos. I got the Hot Cheetos with nacho sauce and jalpenos. While the snacks were fine I was a little disappointed in the theatre. The IMAX screen was great; however it is one of the only theaters that does not recline which made for an uncomfortable experience for such a long movie.
