What an amazing experience yesterday watching the Wizards VS (Our team), OKC! The suite was clean, staff were amazing. We had a nice view of court!

Concerts & Comedy Shows I'd say 90% of my experiences at this venue have been wonderful, exciting and overall great experiences. I've dance, I've vibe to the music and laughed my head off. I even remember all the name changes for this venue, sometimes it gets confusing to remember the most current name. Recently, my friend invited me to see a 90s Star Studded show of Boys to Men, New Edition and Toni Braxton. The show was marvelous, it was awesome singing along to words that were the soundtrack to my childhood and youth. It was almost worth the shit show of trying to enter the event. The lines were long, the doors opened late and it was general mayhem. Something must've happened behind the scenes, for this kind of madness. This was probably a rare occasion, definitely something to watch out for the next time I attend an event at this venue.

Decent arena that serves home to the wizards, Washington's Capitals, Georgetown men's basketball and several other concerts and events. If we are speaking basketball....its not the Miami Heat arena! I'm use to the live action...but here they are very subtle and lack luster with the energy. For it being able to hold 20,000 people, I did think we would have more energy! Located in the Penn Quarter neighborhood, directly above the Gallery Place/Chinatown Metro station. It took its name in 2017, but once was known as MCI center and Verizon center. All in all it's a decent arena if you want to see a sport, concert, or events.

We were in DC for the week and there happened to be a Leafs vs Capitals game while we were in town so I purchased tickets. My husband and I have never been to this arena before and it was less than a 10 minute walk from our hotel. It was exciting even walking amongst all the hockey fans outside and the immediate streets were blocked off to cars. Since I have medical devices and supplies I have to keep with me at all times, I usually have to go through a specific entrance at events to get my bag cleared. I asked someone at the main entrance and he was so friendly! Rarely do I experience that! He guided me towards the entrance on the side. Upon walking a short distance, we found the entrance and I inquired if I was in the correct place. Again, the staff were very friendly and courteous! The process was very quick and smooth. Even the process of scanning my ticket QR codes ( I hate this new way) went smoothly and the employee was super nice. We made our way to our section and bought some drinks before heading to our seats. Fun fact though, if you use a Capital One card in the arena, you get a discount on food, beverages, and merchandise! Our seats were pretty high up and of course in the middle of the row. There were a lot of awesome people sitting in our section and no one was proper about who was sitting in whose seats so we just sat wherever there was a seat. Then a party of four came by and wanted to sit in their seats so the entire row became chaotic lol. Unfortunately the Leafs lost but I had so much fun. It was so nice to be at a game more up north, where there are a lot more true hockey fans. Since it was a charity night for the doggies, they were advertising a Caps calendar with players and dogs. I went to the store and purchased one, even though I'm not a Caps fan. I'm not even kidding, even the security guard at the entrance of the store was so friggin friendly and courteous. I was hoping to find a print of Wilson doing the crybaby face from last season but no luck lol.

We attended a Caps game at Capital One Arena as a family. While the price of tickets were very high even for nose bleeds, I was super happy with the views and comfort of the seats. There is truly no bad seat in this arena for sporting events. Staff were stationed throughout the arena to help with seating and directions. It was easy to get around and the sound and audio were great.

I came to Capital One Arena for The Boy Is Mine Tour to see Brandy & Monica, and from start to finish the entire experience was top tier. As someone who travels in from out of town for events, this venue made everything smooth and stress-free. Security was extremely organized and efficient. They moved the lines quickly without being overly aggressive or doing the most like some venues tend to. I felt safe and taken care of without feeling yelled at or rushed. Major points for that alone. Parking was surprisingly easy to find, especially for a big event night. My biggest tip is to pay for parking in advance if you're coming from out of town. There are plenty of garages around the arena, but prices can stack up fast if you wait until the day of. Planning ahead will save you money and stress. Another huge plus is the location. There are tons of restaurants and bars within walking distance, perfect for grabbing food or a drink before the show. Whether you want a sit-down meal or a quick bite, you have options. The arena itself was clean, well-run, and the staff were friendly. Between the great layout, easy access, and overall vibe, it elevated my entire concert experience. I'll definitely be back if there's an event here I'm interested in seeing. Capital One Arena knows how to host a great night.

Wish I captured more pictures of the renovations but I'm thoroughly pleased with the way that the arena is shaping up. Makes for a beautiful venue for sports and concerts. Prices are high and to be expected but they have great food and adult beverages available at several stands so check it out.

This is a nice arena although I hate the bag policy. It's easier in the winter time although in the summer, it's difficult, especially after work. They have a lot of room and decent spacing between seats. They also have plenty of food options although you have to know where to go for the best food. I would come back here again although just be aware of the bag policy. I have seen plenty of shows here. The most recent one was jingle ball, which was wonderful!!

Canned cocktail is now $18. They don't pat you down... but your bags will be checked. Ushers were great in helping find seats. Views are from Section 214, Row E, Seat 1 (this time around). You have to move your body towards the concert stage in this area or stand up. Cramped seats

10.10.25 This was my first visit back to Capital One Arena since February 2023. My husband and I attended Dave Chappelle's sold-out show on October 10, which was scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. Before the show, we had dinner at Mi Vida, conveniently located right across from the venue. From our table, we could see the long line forming outside Capital One Arena. Although the doors were supposed to open at 6:00 p.m., the line barely moved. For this event, phones and smartwatches were not permitted and had to be locked in pouches prior to security screening. While we've attended other events with similar restrictions, this was by far the most disorganized experience we've had. The line wrapped around the block, and there was considerable confusion among attendees. At one point, a staff member announced that there was a separate entrance for cardholders, so we switched lines--only for another staff member to come by later and say that all lines were the same and no special entrance existed. We didn't make it inside until around 8:45 p.m. Unfortunately, the disorganization wasn't limited to the entrance process. I was appalled by the condition of the restrooms--one had a chicken wing on the floor, and several stalls were overflowing with toilet paper. For a major event venue, restroom maintenance should be monitored more closely during shows. I also noticed an unusually heavy presence of law enforcement and National Guard personnel, something I had never seen at this venue before. After last night's experience, this would not be my preferred venue for future events. My husband and I have agreed that if we attend another performance where mobile devices are prohibited, we'll plan our arrival time and expectations accordingly.

We visited Capital One Arena for an unforgettable basketball night as the Washington Wizards faced off against the Denver Nuggets . From the moment we arrived, the experience felt truly first-class . Our floor seats included access to the United Globe Club lounge, which featured a beautifully curated selection of upscale, exclusive food . The venue itself is stunning , the atmosphere refined and energetic , and the staff were exceptionally friendly and professional . We had an amazing time and would absolutely love to return for another luxury courtside experience!

Came here for Laufey's show. Event organizers did a terrible job distinguishing what lines are for which ticket holders (pit vs seats). It led to many people deservedly annoyed about standing in the wrong line. When inside, the positioning of merch and food at the direct entrance leads to a traffic build up that could've been dissipated by spacing it out but apparently that wasnt taken into consideration. The staff were good about directing everyone to their seats and trying to keep traffic flowing. Staff also made sure only ticketed people made it to their seats. Food is the same pub fare you'd find in the streets at a mark up. Just eat before coming - it's not worth it unless you really have no choice. The no bag policy is a bummer but understandable. Bathrooms were clean and well kept. Overall, this place is okay but there could be improvement in the admission service and food quality and affordability. Laufey's show was amazing but this review stands outside of it.

My wife and I went to 2 events, a capital's game and a wizards game. The capital's game had such a fun and hype energy the entire time. The free hats were awesome to get and wear with everyone. The food and drinks were very good throughout the event. Parking is alittle pricey at the stadium but can't beat being able to take the elevator straight into the arena. Now the wizards game was another story. I was very excited to go and watch the wizards play the cavs as I'm originally from Ohio. The game itself was fun! But my issue was the night and day difference from the stadium running a wizards game compared to a caps game. Before the game started 2 out of 4 fountain drink machines were broke or said they were "out" of soda mix. Before tip off?? And the food options were insanely worse. The quality went down drastically. Atleast Donavan Mitchell went off for 41 and won.

Ask the Community - Capital One Arena

Can I bring in a Fanny pack for concert?

    Yes

There is an event at the arena on Sunday July 21st, where about 20,000 folks will be in attendance. Just wondering would this arena hold all these people cool enough? Keeping in mind the excessive heat warnings over the next few days!

The AC is always running, and as long as you're not in a mosh pit you'll be fine.

Does anyone know if you can bring a camera in or if not is there somewhere to check a bag? I'm going to be out sightseeing before the game and won't have time to return it to my apartment.

It totally depends on what kind of event you are seeing. Concert - depends on the artist. Hockey or basketball game - as long as there are no DSLR cameras. A simple point and shoot is probably fine.

Can you bring umbrellas to the Wizard's games?

I have been to 10-12 games in several cities, umbrellas are not allowed at NBA games to my knowledge

Do they have parking for dodge duly's or any size duly truck?

There is only street parking or parking garages. You must pay for both.

I am an O's fan so this rivalry means something to me. I also really enjoyed the Nats giveaway that day. A hot dog hat. Normally I am underwhelmed by the Nats giveaways even as a baseball fan but this was the only one I really felt excited about. I sat in Club Level and I was a little shocked that no one in staff at the park was checking peoples tickets. They were letting anyone go up to club level which was an issue for several reasons. Problem #1: It was hot dog day and the food was $5 so the lines were absurdly long and there were people from the lower and upper levels going to CLUB LEVEL to get concessions. At Camden Yards the staff actually checks your tickets to seeing you're supposed to be at Club Level. That's what makes club level great the lines are smaller but the cost is that you don't get the specialty food options like on the lower level. The only person checking tickets at club level were the guys at the door if you were supposed to be in like Sections 206-210 Problem 2: Because no one was checking club level when entering there was issues with people sitting in my seat. Where was the usher in my section??? Idk he wasn't there and some jerk took my seat saying since I was wearing an O's jersey I didn't deserve that seat. I paid good money to sit in club level and not being able to sit in my seat was ridiculous. Additionally I was harassed by several Nats fans during my time at the park. To a point one of them stole my free giveaway hat because "you're not even a fan". I paid for the ticket and I waited ALMOST AN HOUR at the gate being one of the first people to enter the ballpark and to get my hat just taken from me was a slap in the face. I already filled out the survey with Nationals Park and requested that a staffer call me and I hope they do because of all the times I've been to Nats Park in my life I've never felt as disrespected as I did on my most recent visit.

Olsen went on to coach DC United for an entire decade (2010-2020), by far the longest tenure of any club coach. For the first 22 seasons, DC United played in the old RFK Stadium (opened 1961) which was used for a variety of sporting events including Washington Redskins (NFL), Washington Nationals (MLB), and Military Bowl (NCAA Division I FBS) games. The team has played at Audi Field since its opening in 2018. Audi Field, which was built specifically for DC United, is located about 10-15 minutes (5-6 miles) away from the old stadium, down the Anacostia River. In its final years as home to DC United, RFK was configured to seat 20,000 for MLS games, same as Audi Field.

September 21st 2025…read more This place is so disorganized and disappointing. My father called ahead of time since him and I are both disabled (we both have handicap placards and my father has a permanent disabled license plate) He finally got ahold of someone and they said if we want handicap parking up close get the gold parking pass. I paid 200 dollars for parking. Yes, 200. Parking up close is VERY important to me.. Nobody was helpful in guiding us to the lot we paid 200 dollars for. Also, they told us when we got there there's no handicap places, we just have to go and sit on a blue bench and call a number for a golf cart to pick us up. I called the number 3 times and somebody did answer. They were nice but not helpful. We ended up having to give up and walk. No workers were helpful, and when we would try to flag down other workers on golf carts they would not stop for us. They did not even look at us The stadium is very outdated. It looks extremely industrial and not welcoming Very crowded Lines were long There definitely was not enough bathrooms or food areas to keep up with all the people it can hold However, I did enjoy the seats we had. I liked the view. And the field looks great. I will say, the bathrooms for the MOST part were clean for over 50 thousand people being there. I did see a toilet overflowing onto the ground though. But workers were taking care of it This stadium needs a huge update. Do not waste 200 on up close parking. It wasn't even that up close and nobody came and picked us up despite us calling and waiting for 43 minutes (the game had already started while we were waiting) Again, I do have to hand it to the woman on the phone who kept answering. It wasn't her fault and at least she answered. So, if you are disabled and can't walk far, plan accordingly Every stadium is different So always check their bag rules. I did have to use a small clear bag Sadly, this stadium is probably one of the worst I've been to P.S- if you google worst NFL stadiums, this one comes up lol. So I'm not the only one complaining

It is true not located near much and traffic is awful. It's quite a walk from Metro and some games and many concerts end after it closes. Hence the new DC stadium will be a welcome change plus having large concerts in the District on 3 metro lines will be a huge plus. The first game against the Seahawks (go Hawks) in 20 for Monday Night Football on the upper deck in 2021 was not impressive at all but beat the experience of the Dome in St. Louis. The upper deck in Baltimore is way better. However our last experience several rows back in the lower deck near the end zone for the Sunday Night Football game for a nearly sold out crowd in 2025 was amazing. While the Commanders (then Washington Football Team) beat the Seahawks narrowly in 2021, the Seahawks beat them in a landslide in 2025. We felt bad seeing poor Jayden Daniels get reinjured though.

Hana Sherif, the artistic director is tapping into so many amazing stories that capture the African American experience in America. The latest hit is Chez Joey which is here till 3/15/26. The play is a 10 out of 10. It's a love triangle story that takes place in 1940's Chicago at a jazz club. Joey is a young ambitious entertainer looking to make a name for himself and has to choose between true love or being bought by a rich baroness who can easily fund his dreams. The dancing and singing is electrifying and steamy, the story is told well and highly engaging. On Wednesdays they've added a complimentary jazz concert from 6:15 to 7pm that takes place in the lobby with seating. Check out Arena's lineup, they are procuring amazing work this season.

This trip to Arena Stage was for Step Afrika Holiday show!…read more We picked up our tickets from the box office and explored some of the season decorations in the lobby. Took some quick pictures with the tree and the arches, then got our tickets scanned and went upstairs. Lots of pretty decorations for the season - one large Christmas tree and a bunch of smaller ones above glistening with white lights. The show was in the Fichandler Stage, which has seats 360 around it - not a bad seat in there! Step Afrika!'s Magical Musical Holiday Step Show was fabulous! They handed out maracas and other noise makers upon entering the theater. We were in Row D on the North Side, which was amazing seats! The show ran for 90 minutes without an intermission. What a show! The talent of these artists are top notch!! The rhythm, the choreography, the music, the energy, the skill, the talent, the props were so impressive! They get the audience part of the fun throughout the show with the noisemakers, chatting, dance battles, and even two opportunities to join them on the floor to learn some steps! This was my first time seeing this show and I certainly can see how it's a tradition year after year for so many. You can tell all the hard work and dedication of this cast! Bravo to them!
