Not a lot of shade depending on seats and time of the day and even if covered can have sum breaking through gaps so ensure to put that SPF on for those sunny days! For review 4,300, I think it fitting to bestow that on Audi Field. I'm a fan of soccer, but don't really follow. I enjoy being in the crowd to watch a live game rather than sit at home and watch it on television. When I had the chance to go to a game, I made sure to take that offer up. Plus, I got to explore more of the city this way. A city that I have lived in for a few years and still have yet to discover a majority of it. Making your way here was fantastic while using the Metro. Getting in here was a breeze too. But, if I may, use any other entrance than Entrance A. The other entrances are way easier to get into and virtually no lines. Getting to your seats here are really easy as well, just follow the signs and you will be there quite fast. However, there are a lot of people that cannot decipher where the sections are. I had a few people try to say I was in their seat when I was not. They were the next section over. The one thing I would have liked to have known was that there was a second level right near my section instead of having to climb those steep steps. But the view, my god the view at this place is amazing. Seeing the Washington Monument over the jumbo screen was amazing. I do have to say, there is definitely not a bad seat in this stadium. Perfect view of the field and, if you are like me, a great place to disassociate. I caught myself staring off into the DC sky a lot while here. That view also lends to how a goal celebration happens here. Over the scoreboard there will be fireworks that shoot out in a 'W' formation with the DC skyline behind it. And when there is a goal, this place comes more alive than it already is. I really enjoyed myself here while watching the game. It was a great stadium to take in a game, and one I hope to come back to time and time again. read more

I was apparently in an area I was not supposed to be in and instead of calmly asking me to move a security guard in a blue shirt started screaming in my face. The rest of the stadium is pretty good but security's unwarranted aggression knocks off a bunch of points. read more

Pretty cool venue. We were fortunate enough to watch the USWNT vs Canada play here. The event staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Prices were about what you'd expect from a professional sporting event. Food and drinks were typical, but we liked that there was a Kona Ice truck there--my kids loved that about it. We had awesome cabana level seats, but it didn't seem like there is a bad seat in the stadium because of the way it's designed. Can't wait to go back for another match! read more

Saw a FIFA Club game at this venue recently, and to be honest, I'm shocked it's such a small arena. I was expecting DC United to play in a bigger place, but apparently this is what is commanded of the local support for the team. The usher was a bit rude when she told us to "Stop" when we got to the upper level. We know where we're going, plus it's not like the place is packed. She shouldn't have held us all up just because one couple stopped to ask her for directions. Arena size aside, this is an awful fan experience. The temperatures were extremely sunny and humid, yet we weren't able to bring a single bottle of water inside. We drank the water bottles before entering but it seems like such a money grab to take advantage of spectators in the sweltering heat. There seemed to be ice machines available, but none of them were working. When you purchase drinks, they're only bottled and they warm up pretty quickly out of refrigeration. The vendors said they were cold but that's only if they stay in the refrigerator. The only place that provided ice was the bar, so I'm thankful we found that place. Shame on the other vendors, and the Audi Field management for not allowing unopened water bottles. read more

May 2025: Another great trip to Audi Field to watch the DC Defenders! Great seats behind one of the end zones. People around us were good neighbors. Everyone seemed to have a great time and the Defenders won; so what more could you ask for?! I will say the weather was beautiful for game day....sun mixed with clouds and highs in the 70s....perfect. You are exposed in most of the seating areas at Audi, so just be aware and plan accordingly. The stairs are also steep and there are a lot of them if you get tickets for seats in the upper decks. The food and beverage options are pretty good as well. You'll certainly get your steps in. We'll be back! :-) read more

In 30 years of attending soccer games, I've never had such a negative experience and the club show no willingness to resolve it. BEWARE, THEY HAVE A STRICT NO REFUND POLICY. The BD function are very poorly trained in customer resolution and the security staff are wholly unprofessional. According to the BD function, they are 'doing their job' and 'following guidelines' when they scream at patrons using disabled entrances. I attended the game and went into the club store from the roadside. I was let into a disabled entrance by a patron who could see me attempting to use the door. Very swiftly I was swarmed by security staff screaming at me to get out and that I couldn't be in there and I didn't have a ticket. I'd did have a ticket, they had no signage saying not to use the door. My colleague and I and the patron were scolded and humiliated in front of the entire store. Were I able to arrange suitable travel back, I'd have left immediately but left at half time. Branden in the business development function has handled this issue with a complete lack of any care or and totally wipes their hands of the problem. I've been told I cant have a refund because the security staff followed guidelines, but I can have free tickets which he knows are of no use to me. When admitting that signage is an issue, and I was treated poorly, I've been told I won't receive a refund under any circumstance but encouraged to pursue a refund with Ticketmaster who ultimately contact the club? What would the point of that be other than to waste someone's time. I've also been told that Ticketmaster have to process the refunds as though it's unusual to purchase tickets this way.. The club website redirects you to Ticketmaster and they seem to genuinely expect that I attend the club to get tickets from another continent read more

It's outrageous that Audi Field does not allow WATER BOTTLES to be brought in -- not even empty water bottles. This is clearly a massive cash grab, but at the expense of people's (and the environment's) health and wellness! How are you allowed to bring water bottles through TSA at airports, Disney World, the neighboring Nationals Park, but _not_ Audi Field. Not being able to bring backpacks over a certain size is annoying, but the water bottle prohibition is beyond the pale. read more

We really enjoyed our visit here in July '24. We came out to DC for a USA rugby match against Scotland. The stadium is huge and had food vendors, pop up stations to meet local DC rugby players, Pre-match food and drink set ups outside the stadium before the match. Once inside Scottish people were playing their authentic native music whilst wearing kilts. Fun! The only qualm is that we learned, last minute, just before heading there is they don't have specific stadium parking. So we opted to take a Lyft to and from the venue. That ended up working out alright in the end. Our drivers were very curious to talk Rugby with us. Also we had no parking fee or had to figure out parking in an unfamiliar area. We came on a Friday night to watch the Washington Spirit. This was my first time and we arrived early so there wasn't much traffic to contend with. Since I'm not a fan of crowds, I appreciated that the stadium is not overly large. It is also clean and intimate. Every seat had a great view. Just be prepared to scale rather steep stairs to get to higher seats. Food selection was not especially diverse but everything we had was perfectly good (cotton candy, chicken tenders, corn dog, pupusa). My favorite was the Latin hot dog at Arepa Zone and tequenos de queso. Definitely recommend! read more

Home opener for XFL and it was a lovely day! The standing room section energy in section 137 is where to be if you can stand for two hours. Although feeding the sane (empty solo cups) proved that drinking more to create a long solo cup snake is worth it. The energy in the stadium is fun, every seat in this 20K seating arena provides a view of the field. Will rate a four or five as I experience the food vendors...or at least remember them when sober and not feeding the snake. read more

This place is impressive! It's relatively new so the amenities are nice. Even the bathrooms are clean! There's a nice assortment of food options - from the standard pizza and chicken nuggets/fries to even tacos! The field is huge but it still felt like most of the seats had a good view. However, if you're rooting for DC United, I recommend sitting behind the visiting teams goal, since the supporters area is there and you'll find the most high energy fans and even a band there. It's just a stone's throw away from Nationals Ballpark but I noticed that the neighborhood changes quickly, so if you're walking a fair distance, I recommend walking in a group. read more

Since opening, the team has corrected some of the needless mistakes here. The bag policy is a little bit looser and you can at least bring a non-clear bag. However, you apparently can't even bring a clear water bottle (apparently you can if there's a heat advisory). The concessions options have diversified a bit. There has been significant development in the area surrounding the baseball stadium so it's a bit more realistic to get food elsewhere in the area. The Wharf has finished enough of its construction that it's now possible to walk from there. At it's heart, it's still a pretty cramped and bare-bones stadium. The upside is that there aren't a lot of bad seats. To be fair, it's comparable to some other MLS stadiums I've been to, but I still wish they'd build this in Anacostia for a variety of reasons. They didn't, so this is what we've got for soccer. read more

Great vantage points and you can actually see planes take off and land from DCA if you're sitting on the right side; pretty cool. I'd never been to Audi Field - as I am not a Soccer fan. But with the advent of the DC Defenders in the XFL - I decided it would be fun to go see a game in person! So I went to see the DC Defenders play the Houston Roughnecks. I ended up buying a ticket in the Club level - which entitles one to enter through a specific security entrance for the Club level. After going through the metal detector and scanning my digital ticket on my iPhone, I went up an elevator for the Club level - had my digital ticket scanned one more time upon arrival - and went and found my seat. After finding my seat, I quickly went back to the Eaglebank Club and got some food and cold beer. The club has a bunch of buffet stations - with thing like hot dogs with a variety of toppings, brisket and mashed potatoes - salads, chips, pretzels, and a variety of other snacks and cookies. I got a hot dog topped with queso cheese, mustard, and chopped onions - and a cold pint of an IPA from a local craft brewery. Watching the game was an absolute blast - I really enjoyed it - and the Defenders won the game! The restrooms were also very close to where I was sitting - so no long treks for restroom breaks. From my vantage point, I had a pretty good views of Sections 136 and 137 - which is where the beer snake is allowed to be and grow. And the beer snake did make it to the top of the section before the game was over! The only criticism of Audi Field is getting there - there is no parking facility for the venue. I ended up driving down to Union Station, parking there - and then taking an Uber ride over to Audi Field. On the way out - I had to walk a few blocks to find a place where I could catch an Uber ride back to Union Station - allegedly - they are not allowed to pull right up to the stadium to pick people up (the police have much of the closest roads and intersections closed off during game time). So I walked over the Cambria Hotel - which is about 3 blocks from Audi Field - and got an Uber pick up there. #AudiField read more

I had such a lovely experience at Audi Field, rooting on the Washington spirit! The seats were very inexpensive so I wasn't expecting much. However, the seats had a great view. It seemed as though every seat in the stadium had an excellent view so you can't go wrong there. The lines for the food got very long during the halftime so it's best to try and plan accordingly. I got the chicken tenders and fries, which was super tasty. But the real star of the show was the lemonade. It was a very hot day and the fresh squeezed lemonade really hit the spot. I would definitely recommend going to Audi field to support the Washington spirit! read more

This is a newer and clean stadium with good views of the field from anywhere in the stadium. It's pretty much all open air so you'll probably get soaked if it rains and some of the seats/aisles can feel a little cramped. Concessions are okay and the shaved ice stand is a must try on a hot day. I also went to a club level game once and the food is pretty good including salads, brisket, hot dogs, chips, pretzels, and chicken. Everything was pretty orderly but there aren't quite enough tables for everyone to eat, especially if it's raining and folks can't sit outside. To my knowledge, there's no parking lot for the stadium so taking the metro or an Uber is your best bet. There's also garages in the area but parking can be tough if the Nats have a game going on at the same time. You won't walk away from this stadium thinking it's the most amazing you've ever seen and the crowds don't seem quite as into it as they were at RFK but it does the job. read more

I grew up playing soccer (futbol) and DC United was the 1st team I ever followed since the rise of MLS. I was disappointed that RFK stadium would no longer be home to DC United. The experience and energy of the fans at RFK was just like in England. However, I was thrilled when I learned the new stadium (Audi Field) was within walking distance of my neighborhood! Audi field is smaller than RFK but's it's modern, accessible and much nicer for a soccer match. Unlike at RFK there's a designated section for the booster club (cheering, large flags, drums). This section is entirely standing and you need to be dedicated to boosting the team the whole time. The way the stadiums is designed the really isn't a bad seat. I haven't sat up towards the top but I have sat in the middle section and even front row of the general section. I've also had field seats twice. It's great to be close to all the action and the field seats come with access to the Heineken lounge. Not sure why they don't come with access to Eagle Club since they are just as expensive if not more. With field seats and eagle club there's a separate entrance near the from called premium seating. The food selection in Heineken lounge is okay, there's everything from apple kale salad to nachos to carvings of a roast and hotdogs. Also a gelato cart and beer, hard seltzer and some other alcohol beverages. I deducted one star because they've done a poor job of organizing access to field seating before and after games. CSC event staff has no idea what's going on. I was trying to make my way to the seat and they had blocked of certain ramps and stairs. The CSC staff said he had no idea how to get to our seats which way to go. I then asked a police officer that was also positioned there and he kindly said he too had no idea but to come back if I couldn't get assistance. Finally I found an entrance at the other end and had to ask the usher for assistance. If you're on the section of field seats furthest away from Heineken lounge get ready for a long walk that forces you to leave the field seat section and walk through the crowds of people. If you're on the field seats that are closer to Heineken Lounge you have direct access to your seats and the lounge. They are not very helpful or organized, which is strange when you pay such a premium for field seats. read more

How fun of a place! Passing the baseball field and entering down the main road, all the bright lights really have a wow moment. It really gets you a little hyped up! The main entrance is gate A, so we walked to the left o access gate B. I saw they had digital maps with a layout on poles but a lot of them were damaged in which you'd barely be able to see anything. Security was super quick and it seems their main rule is no backpacks though I will say I saw lockers between the gates you might be able to put your stuff in if denied instead of heading all the way back home. Many concessions upon entering, but do take a walk around to see what all they have to offer. Jalapeño fries were delicious!! Be wise and get goodies ahead of halftime. Then steps? KILLER. Not sure how often they have games but man oh man did those seats have 1.5 million spider webs on them. Definitely were fighting webs and spiders for the first few minutes there. We did Uber here but it seemed to be steer parking in the nearby neighborhoods. Overall good experience as I've never been to a soccer game before. read more

Audi Field is one of the cleanest and more modern sports field I have been to. A friend had an extra ticket for seating in a suite, and I could not say no. Those with seating in a suite, can use the premium entrance. This takes you to the elevator that goes up to the suites and premium seating. Suites have seating, high top tables, televisions with the game playing and outside balcony seating with a great view of the pitch. The suite is stocked with drinks and food, consisting of salads, hamburgers and hotdogs. It being a cold and rainy evening my friend and I spent the majority of the time inside the suite watching the game. Great suite experience and I definitely think this would be a great way to watch a game with a group of friends. read more

I had a great time at Audi watching the Washington Spirit despite the rain delay and the heat. The event staff was super helpful keeping everyone up to date on what was going on with the weather and making sure everyone stayed safe. The seats were affordable and I had a great view of the field despite being high up. The stadium offers a great variety of food and drinks. Because of the heat advisory fans could bring in a sealed bottle of water and were allowed to use their machines to refill them. In addition the team owner bought everyone a bottle of water for their patience during the storm. Despite that I tried the lemonade and it is definitely a must have. read more

We've been DC United fans for years, but after our recent experience, we will never attend another game at Audi Field again. We were extremely disappointed with how my husband was treated at the DC United game. He stumbled slightly at check-in, and without saying a word, was immediately labeled as "being difficult" and denied entry, even though he didn't say a single word.The staff showed no empathy or professionalism. To make things worse, we were also denied a refund for tickets we weren't allowed to use. This was humiliating, discriminatory, and completely unacceptable. We came to enjoy the game -- instead, we were treated with suspicion and disrespect. DC United should be ashamed of how this was handled. read more

I came here for the first time for broccoli city Festival and I was pleasantly surprised by how nice it was. The bathrooms were pretty clean. The facilities were well manicured. It was nice. The only major pitfall was that they did not have many food options let alone food options for people, dietary restrictions, and it seemed like they didn't allow any outside food vendors to come in, which prevented me from literally eating anything while I attended the two day festival. I really hate to do less than satisfactory reviews but I've visited Audi Field a couple of times, mostly for college football games and homecoming events. I give this stadium a strong 3 because it's clean and new and it seems that every seat is a good seat. Otherwise, it's always a hot mess! The times I've been, there are no ushers around to help you to your seat. This makes people think they can sit in your seat, even when doing them the courtesy of showing them your ticket. A friend of mine had an extra seat to the DC United game and invited me to come along, so I did. I've never been to Audi Field before, or a pro-soccer game for that matter, so this was something new to me! Audi Stadium replaced RFK Stadium as the home of the DC United and was built in 2018. I did some exploring around the stadium during the game and it's definitely on the smaller side-as can be seen by the fact it only seats about 20,000 people. Compared to other stadiums that I've been to there really isn't much around this park other than the game. No statue, mural or interesting tidbit. However, from everywhere you are sitting in the stands, you definitely have a good view. Food-wise, Audi Field was all over the place. I got a soft pretzel, which was easily the worst one I've ever had. It was as a hard as a rock and literally inedible. You would break a tooth trying to chew it and I regret not sending it back. However, the buttermilk tenders and fries were both excellent. Altogether, Audi Field has really great views of the action on the field. While it's not at the level of an NFL or MLB stadium, it's still not a bad place to watch the DC United. read more

Not to be confused with J-Woww-D-Field, because J-Woww did play the field and had a D or two, and a girl that looks like that should get all the D in the world if she wants it. But DC United. They haven't been nearly as successful in recent years as they were in the early years though. They've been needing a soccer-specific stadium for a long time, but they always seemed to end up playing back in RFK. Now though, they have Audi Field. Now that DC United has its own soccer specific Stadium south of Washington DC I'm absolutely thrilled for them and they've been waiting for this for a long time and it's absolutely amazing. But I can't say that it's one of the best in the league? Top 10 definitely. I'm not sure about top five, but it definitely gets the job done and all it really needs is for the team to return to some semblance of their former dominant glory in order for the stadium to start really picking up the way RFK Stadium used to at times when the team was really good. Unfortunately I have to take a star off because it has an extremely frugal outlook in terms of overcharging massively for everything, and having pretty uncomfortable seats, and I mean they don't even let you bring any kind of a bag in here, and instead force you to pay $15 for a locker - which is how much the ticket for the game should be. read more

So inclement weather warning, no one's allowed in bleacher area, concessions closed, find shelter; completely understandable. Now 50 minutes of standing in the direct sun; 87°-70% humidity, no water anywhere, since restrooms are closed, and you cannot even drink from sinks, cause sheltering in restrooms-dangerous? Still cannot come back if you leave. So my car has water, rubber tires, secure shelter. I cannot wait it out there, I will not be allowed back in if I leave. Whoever runs this facility needs to be replaced. I've been to uncounted venues and events, never have I seen a place ran this idiotically. 55 min in finally getting some shade from the clouds coming in. Apple weather map says storm missed us, I did hear thunder 2 times in the last hour, no sign of lightning. I completely understand protecting people at your event, but there needs to be some aspect of intelligence and problem solving ability attributed to your actions. read more

I came for the rugby matches and wanted to go outside to smoke between the men's and women's matches. Apparently that is not allowed. You pay for an event but cannot leave the facility and reenter, forgot wallet in car; GF. Emergency call and you can't hear; GF. Bad signal; GF. The more people accept stupid bs the more these companies will do. I understand people not caring about going out to smoke, that's NOT my complaint, my complaint is if I want to take the kids to the car to make sandwiches and eat in between bouts we cannot, if one of my family members can only stay for one match and needs a ride home; GF. They are trapping you in an attempt to make you buy more of their sales items; ie food, water, etc. The only other option being forfeiting the money you paid to go to their event. I was super excited to see these rugby matches, USA did great against Fiji, but now I will be distracted the entire mens match, due to this egocentric, controlling, epic BS. read more

Wow I can't believe how bad the reviews are of this place I also can't believe how many people don't read. I went to a game with my significant other who enjoys soccer and was excited to introduce me to it. Since I didn't get the tickets I spent all of 5 mins looking at the website when I saw the bag policy. I'm glad I did because by the looks of these reviews most people didn't. We found pretty inexpensive parking on parking panda and walked over. Getting into the game wasn't much of a hassle, there was some confusion with the online ticket but the ticket agent was able to text them and we were on our way. The line took practically no time and we were in. I didn't partake in concessions but I saw a lot of variety and everything looked great. I did grab a drink at the bar and yes they are overpriced but I expected that. I tried the cherry blossom themed drink and let's just say once is enough for me. I do appreciate how clean the bathrooms are but found it weird that there are no mirrors over the sinks. Seats were great! I did hate how steep the stairs were, but I understand it's built that way so that the higher seats have good sight lines. The supporter section seems cool but a bit overwhelming for me as a casual fan. Overall I think it's a pretty great stadium and am looking forward to another game there and seeing sight lines from other seats. read more
