In my case, several other doctors, esp GI doctors, and an emergency room, had missed what was an obvious hernia that had caused me to lose about 20 pounds in a month. When, after four other doctors visits NONE OF WHOM even LOOKED at the area in question and preferred CT scans and other expensive tests, and medicine that made things worse, my wife INSISTED another doctor take a look. By golly, said that other doctor, I believe you might have a hernia. That was what I had suggested for weeks, but they didn't have time to LOOK or PALPATE. Dr. Washington looked immediately and was flabbergasted that someone had missed it. His protocol brags that he gets you out of the hospital the same day as surgery by using a nerve block but it will paralyze your leg and set back your recovery by weeks. When you find yourself on Saturday with unremitting intolerable pain, there will be no one to help you. All you will get is an answering machine where you can leave a message that no one will pick up until Monday morning. You can go to the emergency room, they will make you comfortable for a few hours and then send you home without any change in your medication or how you are to manage your pain. You will not be allowed to speak to your attending physician as he is only willing to talk to the emergency room doctor. You are on your own. I had a total knee replacement six years ago with an uneventful and perfect recovery. Dr Casey did this total knee replacement and the recovery has been nothing short of a complete nightmare. Eventually, I will fight my way through this, the implant is fine and well positioned but I would not recommend Dr Casey for any surgery, ever.

Review for Dr. Carl Berk with Pinehurst Surgical Clinic…read more On 6-1-2016 I took my daughter to see Dr. Carl Berk. He was nice enough but he was rushing to get to his next patient. He diagnosed her and quickly explained the diagnosis. I asked him some questions and he quickly answer them and gave me a pamphlet. He may be a good Doctor but I did not like him rushing like it was a race! True, my daughter's diagnosis was not something that needed a lot of time and attention but the way he rushed us was not right and I don't trust Doctors who rush. Like I always say, if you don't have the time to see patients and spend the proper amount of time with them then maybe you should not except so many. I would not recommend Dr. Carl Berk. P.S. Dr. Matthew Grafenburg also works at Pinehurst Surgical Clinic and he is the same way so I would not recommend him either!
