On September 21 my stitches which should have been ready to come out ruptured and puss came out. I was in Ohio so came back went to the emergency room since it was the weekend and was placed on antibiotics was informed to see an orthopedic. Since I already had one I called them Monday and was seen. The surgeon at my orthopedic was out due to surgery for himself so I was referred by my orthopedic to Dr Johnson. Dr Johnson asked if my surgeon had both his hands cut off if not then he should still be able to perform surgery on me. He also asked why I waited so long to see a surgeon I tried explaining to him I did everything that I was told to do by the hospital and my pcp. He refused to do the surgery and told me I should just live with it being numb the rest of my life.

A week after my surgery during my follow up he was very attentive and answered all my questions. Later that week I panicked with my new arm brace so I went by the office and he calmed my fears and took the time to show me how to work the brace. I can't say enough about Dr. Johnson and all the staff that work in his office. They all treated me with great care. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

His protocol brags that he gets you out of the hospital the same day as surgery by using a nerve block but it will paralyze your leg and set back your recovery by weeks. When you find yourself on Saturday with unremitting intolerable pain, there will be no one to help you. All you will get is an answering machine where you can leave a message that no one will pick up until Monday morning. You can go to the emergency room, they will make you comfortable for a few hours and then send you home without any change in your medication or how you are to manage your pain. You will not be allowed to speak to your attending physician as he is only willing to talk to the emergency room doctor. You are on your own. I had a total knee replacement six years ago with an uneventful and perfect recovery. Dr Casey did this total knee replacement and the recovery has been nothing short of a complete nightmare. Eventually, I will fight my way through this, the implant is fine and well positioned but I would not recommend Dr Casey for any surgery, ever.

He even told me to try to listen to my body! I do so why don't you be a doctor and listen to your patient who listens to her body. Don't let them take X-rays until after u see if he is going to help you or gaslight you because that's just part of his scam take ur copay bill ur insurance for the visit and throw some X-rays in no way I wish he didn't get a penny from me or my insurance after all the time I spent to get this appointment (called several times no answer) and waited well over an hour listening to him talk about prior patients non urgent calls- I sensed from his demeanor from afar he had decided he did not want to deal with me. It's fine if he doesn't want to treat patients that actually need help but it crosses a line to condescend and mansplain and actually make your patient feel bad for wanting to get a lifetime of knee issues fixed! It truly is kicking someone when they are down and it's unnecessary and sadistic! Especially for someone in the medical community who has taken the oath. I'd recommend checking Healthgrades see the one star reviews they put their experiences into words very eloquently that I related to with my experience and hope to prevent others from that type of care and time and money spent to receive bad care. I'd you fit his narrow criteria then have it but personally I would want to find a doctor that's not a scumbag to others in need who don't fit the criteria even if I fit the criteria but that's how I am. :) I wish you healing and a good doctor!
