This place is cute but the food isn't that great. I got the French toast biscuits but the texture was not very appetizing. I feel like it's a good idea in theory but that the texture of a biscuit doesn't work being used as French toast. It's also very expensive for what you get. My husband had gravy with his biscuit and it was good. I'm not sure we'll be back. They also only had one waitress so service was kind of slow but she was super nice! read more

Very nice looking building / restaurant in the heart of Tomball. We went there based on all of the positive reviews for a morning breakfast with the family. We were disappointed with the food quality. The eggs were bland and were a bit on the oily side, the pancakes were an odd texture and not fluffy. I felt like the coffee was not good and almost had a burnt taste to it. The waffle was decent, and those that got bacon seemed to enjoy it. The staff was attentive and friendly. It seems like a popular place and was pretty busy, so maybe it was just an off day they were having. read more

Yum! Pine Street looks like it was picked up from the middle of a National park and should have servers in ranger outfits. It is cozy in the middle of a campground kind of comfortable. The food, however, sure wasn't cooked over a campfire but is elevated comfort food made from scratch in house. The focus is on biscuits, in a variety of flavors and formats. Sandwiches, with various gravies and the house specialty French toast biscuits. We ordered a wide sample from the menu, the campfire which featured three different takes on biscuits: Biscuit with sausage gravy, cheddar bacon biscuit with a jalapeño gravy and a cinnamon raisin biscuit accompanied by baked apples. We added the Papa Bear sandwich featuring buttermilk chicken, an order of the French toast biscuits (I mean we had to) and a piece of maple sausage. All were good and filling. My faves were the cinnamon raisin biscuit with the warm apples and the cheddar bacon biscuit that I split and stuffed with that thick hunk of maple sausage. The jalapeño gravy read like queso and wasn't my favorite. The buttermilk chicken on the papa bear was tasty and huge. Our least favorite was the French toast biscuits, we found them heavy. This is a cute place in old Tomball that is worth a visit. This sweets and breakfast shop features an outdoorsy theme and looks like a log cabin. Inside are wooden tables and benches and plaid tablecloths. The side patio has a spot with bear tracks in the pavement. The food is split between breakfast dishes and sandwiches, and the baked goods. I would rate the breakfast as good to very good, and the pastries very good to great. The menu features a lot of good breakfast staples; you can get oatmeal, eggs, waffles, bacon, and biscuits. The biscuits come in two varieties: standard and French toast style. Both types are really good and a high point in the breakfast. The breakfasts we've had so far are filling although they don't hit the high notes some other places have. For example, the chicken and waffles are pretty basic. The dish is prepared well but both the waffle and the chicken were plain and didn't really have stand out flavor. Contrast this to my high marks for this dish from "Mess" in College Station which arrives on a tastier crispier waffle and whose chicken breast chunks are coated in a spicy batter in an appetizing deep red hue, or the Thai-inspired chicken and waffles in LA's "Met Her at a Bar". The sides like the breakfast casserole are good although one time it had some hard bits at the edges like it wasn't quite fresh. The breakfast sandwiches are more impressive. I tried the Countryside, which features a slice of fried turkey, cheese, ham, and raspberry jam between slices of a French toast biscuit. It's satisfying and I'm looking forward to trying the other ones that feature variations including fried chicken breast, maple sausage, eggs, or steak. You'll definitely get a hearty breakfast here, and I understand that for some patrons, a non-spicy chicken and waffles is preferred. The coffee is good but not the headliner. That's saved for the pastries. The namesake specialty is maybe the best thing here. The entryway is filled with tables covered in cookies and cakes and the counter dessert display is filled with all kinds of great cookie bars. These are all rich and tasty and feature a lot of creativity. There are great flavors, and they are changing all the time. Bars made with fruit, chocolate, caramel, cheesecake, and more. We've tried several: chocolate peanut butter, berry, lemon, maple pecan, and carrot cake. We liked them all; my only nit is that the crust on the lemon bar was more like a pie crust and I am used to those having more of a flaky shortbread bottom. I didn't try them but one time they had a cheesecake bar infused with Bailey's, and another brownie bar infused with Guiness. But if you're just coming for just coffee and treats, you'll have to do it at lunch as this cafe closes at 2pm. read more

In addition to a few other minor issues, we won't be returning again. Issues include having to view the menu online, dirty silverware, and they were out of gluten free toast. For the kid's waffle, we asked for the hazelnut cream on the side and it came on the waffle. We didn't even know they served espresso drinks because it wasn't on the menu and our server didn't mention anything. We won't be back again as there are better options in the area, namely Re-Bar, Manna and First Watch. They have better service and better food (and gluten free options!). Conversation was very difficult. Our server brought us our coffee in paper cups but I noticed they had regular coffee cups too??? We both ordered the Mama Bear, my husband had the waffles and I had the biscuit. Food was served lukewarm. My biscuit would not even melt whipped butter, by the way I had to ask for butter and jelly. She brought me 1 jelly packet. Eggs were cooked correctly. I had the sausage Patty, cold with no flavor. Husband had peppered bacon, was tasty but cold. His waffle also did not melt whipped butter. Syrup was on table and not warmed. Told waitress about our food, no offer to correct situation. Asked if manager was there and did not get answer from person up front. Will not be back. Drove past this place a few times and finally tried it out. So glad we did!! Hubby ordered The Sly Fox (the most popular sandwich) and I ordered The Backwoods sandwich. We took turned sharing the hash brown casserole and cinnamon apples. The portion sizes were huge. The biscuits are fresh and flaky. The chicken was also equally delirious and freshly fried rendering that amazing crunch as you take your first bite. The hash brown casserole was out of this world. And the apples gave us that warm fuzzy feeling of home baked goodness. We came here for a late breakfast/brunch on a Saturday around 1030am. The place was busy, but not packed. They did have a sign on the door stating that they were understaffed (they definitely were) and to be patient, so I appreciated the head's up. Once we were seated, took about 15min for someone to come over and take our drink and food order, luckily this gave us time to fully devour the menu and know what we wanted. I know restaurants are struggling right now, and I want local businesses to succeed. However, it was a little frustrating to see other tables waited on first that came after we were seated; I think just basic miscommunication on who needed to be waited on/timing. Once the order was taken, food and drinks came out surprisingly fast and we quickly forgot about the longer than usual wait - the food is great. I got the Papa Bear biscuit sandwich (wanted a french toast biscuit but unfortunately they were out) and the table shared a hashbrown casserole - a must get. Biscuits are clearly homemade, the fried chicken on my biscuit was so moist, juicy, and flavorful, and the coffee cups are large. All in all, a great breakfast experience. We were driving around looking for a different breakfast place and ended up here. It has a nice modern cabin feel. The place is clean and the street parking is organized. The area feels safe. There is a sign at the door that says they are shortstaffed at the moment, but once seated I appreciate the fact that they were always updating us about our order and were very polite and nice. We come here every other Sunday and it just gets better and better. Anytime you have biscuits and gravy that you do not have to add any salt of pepper you know you're at a good spot. The bacon is cooked perfectly and you can ask them if you want your bacon crispy or a little chewy they will make it happen. Definitely try the desserts. This place was so good! It definitely needs more reviews so I couldn't pass up giving them five stars after devouring the Backstreet fried chicken biscuit sandwich. The biscuit was perfectly baked with a slightly crispy outside and pillowy soft inside. The chicken has just the right amount of breaded crunch with an amazing flavor! I love sweet and savory together so the honey and the mustard/pickle combo was spot on for me. My husband got the French toast biscuits. Good service, relaxed atmosphere. ONLY complaint is that it's very loud! Lots of hard surfaces and when it is packed out with families and groups it is very loud. Best example of big ol' cat head biscuits I've seen years! Yes, the service was slow, and considering we were there at 10:30 on a weekday morning, they can't blame the crowd. BUT... the biscuits. Giant, fluffy on the inside, golden on the outside, biscuits! Hubby's had a generous and tasty sausage patty and mine was loaded with a large, moist, fried chicken breast. Neither of us could finish our biscuit sandwich. On the way out, we saw a few items in the bakery display that we had to bring home with us, and have not been disappointed by them.
