All you need to know is The Reggie Deluxe. This is one of the best biscuit breakfast sandwiches I've ever had, actually I take that back. It is THE best biscuit breakfast sandwich I've ever had. It's not the best biscuit I've had, but the complete sandwich is delicious! The Reggie Deluxe is basically a biscuit breakfast sandwich with fried chicken, bacon, cheese, and egg and smothered with gravy (your choice of sausage or mushroom gravy). Make sure to add extra gravy to your Reggie Deluxe because you are going to want every morsel to be covered in that scrumptious sauce. I seriously wanted to lick the gravy off the plate but alas I was sharing my dish with other people. The Reggie Deluxe is quite heavy so you should seriously consider sharing it with one (or two) other people. Alright, this is officially one of my favorite places to eat in Portland. I've been here a couple of times, and each time has never disappointed. My heart, and arteries, become filled with happiness. You can't really go wrong with what they are famous for; their Reggie Deluxe. Fried tender chicken, fried egg, bacon, AND gravy in a perfectly chewy biscuit? Hell yes. Hell fucking yes. This most recent time I visited I also tried their gumbo, which was another hell yes. Good god. how did these people know the way to my soul??? 1 star is knocked off for the tiny space with very limited seating. so awkward standing next to people for them to finish their meals so you can snatch their seats ASAP. they need a better system. We arrived right before closing time, and the staff couldn't be more welcoming. The feel to the restuarant is reminiscent of a 90's local hang out. We had the cookie butter pop tart, the reggie deluxe, and chatfield. The chicken in both sandwiches was juicy on the inside and crisp on the outside, perfectly seasoned without any spice overpowering the other. The biscuits were light and airy, and perfectly complimented the chicken. My only complaint was at the end of our meal when we realized the experience that was our food was over. This spot is very good. You can tell how popular and coveted their culinary creations are, as evidenced by the epically long lines from 7am to 3pm. This was our second trip into Pine State, and I ordered the Reggie Delux! It was awesome to say the least. They serve local drip coffee from Stumptown. The environment is hip and the staff is really helpful and friendly. Only word of caution is the potential LONG wait time (my experience is for Saturday and Sunday Brunch)... come early, plan accordingly and make sure you got your appetite with you:) We are looking forward to my 3rd visit! read more

I heard that the biscuits were so fluffy and delicious and to be honest, they were just ok. Maybe they're the bomb for Portland, but I live in Chicago, home of The Roost and you absolutely do NOT get a better biscuit anywhere else. At any rate, I opted for "The Wedgie" with blue cheese. I am used to blue cheese being crumbly and not at all liquid like ranch, so I was a little stumped for a second. After getting over it, I took off the top part of the biscuit so that I could make a fair assessment of the biscuit itself and that's when I came to conclusion as stated above. As of 9/29/17...if you order any sausage, it's going to be a tiny shade pink; it's just how it's cooked...nothing wrong. I verified with them and they went above and beyond to explain their cooking technique and put me at ease. The crew here is just as fabulous as the food. The review is not about the food. The food was very good but we really didn't enjoy it; the staff were friendly except for one female (with pink/purple hair I guess). We weren't lucky and she was the one in charge of our orders. I understand when people are being forced to provide great customer service despite their own issues or maybe they don't like the job or some customers can be really annoying. We didn't ask her to smile or even be nice, but the way she talks, throws the plate on the table with the "here you go" attitude as if she was feeding a horse is very unacceptable. I got the mcisley with fried chicken, mustard, pickles and honey and added a fried egg. It was fucking phenomenal. If I ever want fried chicken and biscuits, I crave the Reggie. The fried chicken, cheese, and bacon combination is AMAZING, and the gravy ties it all together. The gravy is delicious and helps soften the crispy biscuit. My sister order the Chatfield and loved the apple butter/fried chicken combo. She said she'd prefer it with gravy though, since it became a bit dry. I had some friends visiting and they wanted to check out Pine State Biscuits. I had never been so we were all excited to get some brunch. We arrived on a Friday around 11am fully expecting to wait in line. As anticipated, there was a line just around the corner of the building. The line didn't look too bad so we joined. The line moved quite a bit at first, but as soon as we made it into the little alley it stopped. As we got closer to the door we realized there was a ton of open seating so the hold up was at the register. We quickly observed, I mean we had plenty of time, the lady at the register was also making drinks. She was barely at the register despite the line around the corner. When we finally made it to the register after an hour in line, she disappeared. She didn't say a word, she was just gone and then she came back and made a few drinks, still not even an acknowledgement. She chatted with some co-workers and then finally came to take our order. We had to repeat part of our order because she wasn't listening. We tried to swallow our annoyance as we headed for the table. The food took about 10 minutes to hit the table, which felt like an eternity after being in line for an hour. I ordered the hash ups, I know who goes to the biscuit place and doesn't order a biscuit, but the hash ups was exactly what I wanted. Unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. There was absolutely no seasoning at all and when I added some of the table salt it didn't help. The steak also had a weird marinade and was chewy. I was so sad and disappointed and starving! I covered it in Ketchup and ate it anyway. I ordered my little one the special of the day, a blueberry biscuit. The biscuit was swimming in blueberries and whipped cream, her 2 year old heart was so happy. You really can't screw up a biscuit with berries and whipped cream and they didn't. One of my friends ordered the Reggie and she enjoyed it. My other friend got the shrimp and grits, which a friend had recommended. They were good, but not the best I've ever had. I would not return to this location based on our experience. I don't mind waiting in line when your business is appreciated and the staff is working hard, but the neglect was blatant. And this new location is one of the easier to get a tasty treat. This location opens at 7 on weekends and if you're up and Adam around then it's very little wait and always a seat to eat. It's a small spot connected to their larger kitchen and warehouse space and shares with an evening pizza joint I have yet to try. Same great snacks as the other locations but not quite in the heart of a trendy hipster neighborhood and easy assess to the freeway if you're driving in for some Pine State. My personal favs are the Mcisley and a simple egg and cheese or biscuit with honey butter. I've heard their gritz are legit and the hash browns look like perfection. Carbs, salt and sugar mmmmmm...
