I always find good stuff here, not only clothing and shoes (lots & lots of shoes!) and accessories of all kinds, but fetching household decor too. Pricing is fair and there are 50% off items too, including jewelry. I've picked up several great rings for just $12. I really hope people will make it a point to support this store so we don't lose it. The pandemic has been unimaginably hard for independent, locally-owned business and those that are still around continue to exist on the brink of extinction. Super cute things here...pretty much over 90% of the visits I've made have ended with adorable items coming home with me. I really like their window displays which change frequently to display pops of color and weather-appropriate new arrivals. The Pro : best part of this experience is that I've never been swarmed by other customers when I've been shopping here, and that's something I really value. The Con: parking/navigating the square of death and destruction. I hate ever so much the downtown square that makes up the center of town. All the one way streets and crazy drivers. Overall, I love the concept of second hand clothes, because, seriously, how many times will you wear the organza, pine green, tea length dress you had to buy for Cousin Emma's wedding? Sell it, trade it, recycle it, and if you're in west county, this is the place. Be here! read more

I really enjoy Pine Grove! It's always a joy to shop here. They take the time and care to curate a collection of clothing and household items that run the gamut of fun and quirky to elegant to practical and comfortable. This is a consignment store that is well supported by the local community so there is always an unexpected treasure to be found. I have been consigning here for over a year and it is a smooth and fair process. They really know their audience and only take what they know will sell. They only look at 30 items per month in a one time deal. Everything in the store is priced at a fraction of what it would sell for new. They then pay out 40% of what each item sells for. Don't expect to be making big bucks from the process, but do expect to turn things that never fit right, or just weren't your color, into some brunch money...mimosas anyone?! And I expect you will be wearing that fabulous new hat you found at Pine Grove to your next ladies brunch. read more

This shop is just okay to me considering all the other great consignment shops plus thrift stores nearby. The style here is a bit older/hippy which doesn't fit my personality although it does for most of Sebastopol! Not saying I haven't found cute things here, but just not often. Plus the clothes are on the more expensive side. It's worth stopping by once in awhile to check out. Here's where it gets bad, selling here is a nightmare. My mom and I have both had tons of troubles and rude ladies. I would avoid selling here! They don't tell you when they sell something of yours so you just have to go back and ask which seems a bit weird. Wouldn't there be a better system? read more

Going to Pine Grove General has become a tradition for me, as I've gone there since I was kid and have since introduced it to many friends and acquaintances. It has a large selection of clothing, shoes, and decor, and in terms of a secondhand / consignment shop they are exactly what I am looking for. Though the focus is women's fashion, there is always a smaller but tastefully chosen selection of men's and children's clothing, as well. In addition to finding great everyday items, I've scored several wonderful vintage pieces at amazing prices. As with any secondhand store, I haven't always found the thing I was looking for, but it's always fun to peek in anyhow. I appreciate the staff's helpfulness as well as their hands-off approach while I am perusing the inventory. NOTE: Their consignment set-up is easy to handle, and they always walk you through their policies. However, I always recommend calling ahead before bringing in lots of items, as the days for taking in consignment have changed in the past. (Tip: If you are taking in consignment, I recommend grabbing a delicious Sattawa chai at the Sebastopol Cookie Company across the street beforehand, to sip on as you browse while they check out your things. Beware, though: Nothing like sugar and caffeine to make me lose my cash fast in a great store!) read more

This place is awesome!!! Really great clothes. I hate shopping for shorts. I'm very picky when it comes to style and fit. But I was shocked to be able to find not just one pair but 5 pairs of shorts in a variety of colors for a smoking deal! I recently bought one pair of shorts for $54 at Vacaville Outlets for the same price as buying all these shorts. And one of the shorts I found today was even brand new. They have a really great selection of shoes. I couldn't splurge any more for the day, but next time I come that is going to be the goal. Its rare for me to find a store that carries so much good stuff for a very reasonable amount. I highly recommend checking this place out. read more

I wanted to come here to look at clothing at a decent price. Prices were ok. The problem is I wanted to buy a pair of boots that were defected at a discount. When I asked for help she one was annoyed and replied that it's only 10%. Then I come to the counter and it was like the movie where the sloth helps you. They literally hated being there and hated giving me a service. To be honest, use to love this place but the atmosphere sucked. read more

I always find something here - great clothes, upscale resale. I enjoy going here every few weeks. Wish it was open on Sundays. Selling here is frustrating as they don't say when they've sold things and have kept my money since it was a few days past their timeline of 60 days. Felt rude. read more

I did consignment for them, asked them to write me a check for whatever sold as I was moving out of the area. The check never came and when I came in, they said two separate accounts had been created, which I have no idea how that could have happened. They still do their bookkeeping/accounting on paper and pens in binders (maybe this is a front?), which is really inefficient in cases like this and can easily lead to confusion and lost money in my case. They're either sloppy or malicious. Either way, I'm never supporting them again, even if they modernize to computers and organize, and customers should be aware of what they're supporting. read more

The intake, tracking and payment system on consignments is unorganized. Even though the store made more than $1000 from the items I consigned I never felt like a valued customer and that's unfortunate. read more

These guys know their business. They've got plenty for everyone including plus sizes. Their shoes are the best around. Plus you can bring in your clothes (in very good condition) and spend the money you get on new stuff! Just don't forget your deadlines for pickup and such. read more

I've been to this store many times. They've sold some of my clothes, which is great. And every time I bring some clothes to sell, I find really cute ones I want to buy! That doesn't really help me reduce my clutter, but I've gotten many great items here over the years. read more

I kind of can't believe there are only 5 reviews of this place, because it was AWESOME. They had a great sale rack out front, where I found a button-down tunic shirt and a silky tank from Nordstrom, for $5 each. Inside I found another silky tunic shirt from Forever 21 for $13. There were a bunch of sweaters I wanted to try on, but I resisted. They also had a ton of shoes, but not quite what I was looking for. Lots of cute ones though. The staff was really friendly. My aunt, who's in her sixties (I'm in my twenties) also found a vest, a shirt and a Japanese-style coat that she thought was super cool. I wish the store was closer to me in Oakland! read more

This shop is very strange! They have complicated rules about selling, including how many items, what time you can bring in your items, pick up policies, etcetera and they make the people who provide them with their merchandise feel less than welcome! Additionally, their stock is not wonderful, the dregs of the dregs and I've only found, at most, ONE item to even buy there when I'm browsing locally! Too bad they are so ungrateful to their sellers and buyers alike.... read more

This was the other consignment shop my friend Dominique introduced me to recently in Sebastopol, and I was immediately smitten. When she had said "consignment store" I pictured the overpriced and somewhat snooty shops in Marin and Pacific Heights, so I wasn't that excited about going. But we pulled up curbside right in front (no parking meters in sight!) and the $3 rack quickly beckoned (a pair of jeans, a plaid snapfront blouse, and fitted retro jacket were my first best finds). Once inside, the clothes, shoes, accessories, household items, and brickabrack were clean, well organized and priced right. I love the mix of retro to current styles, you never know what will pop into view next. My fave find here: a jar of vintage beads, broken jewelry, buttons and findings, perfect for craft projects from Thai Economy for $4.50 (there were two of these findings-filled jars, but I left one for the next treasure hunter, like YOU!). Seller Beware! I'm not saying don't go here...I'm just giving you a HEADS-UP to Beware and make sure you talk to someone who doesn't leave you wondering ANYTHING. I dropped something off and asked if I would get a copy of a receipt or "something" and was told NO...so I took a picture of it. It had my name and phone number on it. But nothing stating when I should check back. So, it seemed logical that they would call to let me know it sold...like MOST other places do. Unfortunately, I forgot about it and called back to check on it...almost a year later, albeit, but when I called I was told that I "should have" gotten a copy (which I did not) in fact I was specifically "Told" (because I asked as stated above) by the person who helped me that they DO NOT give you a copy...which is why I took a picture with my phone. I found that very odd. I was told when I called today that they DON'T call people back to let them know something sold (which I was NEVER told - even though they said they ALWAY tell people). I'm going to assume that because it was the end of the day perhaps the person helping me just wanted to leave. So just know: If you don't call back within 3 months they assume you donated it and they "take the money off the books." Hello Audit!...that seems a bit odd too. Anyway, Bottom line: They sell it - never call you to let you know it sold - and keep your money. They must be doing a BOOMING Business! read more

Unfortuanately.. I did not read the Yelp reviews before I sold here. Ditto, Seller : "forget about it". Ok.. once time, I did not realize there was an intricate timeline and procedure to follow. So I unwittingly made a donation. The second time.. It's not worth the effort to jump thru the hoops and hear that I made $5 bucks.. but wait.. really? I can do math. If my item sold for half off $25 at $12.50.. so my share is $5.00? whatever... not worth then breath. Unless you want to be ripped off and waste time. read more

Went to Sebastopol for the weekend and stumbled in the General Store. Very well organized, wonderful selection and very reasonably priced! I found two dresses and two tops that I absolutely love and paid less than $50. Can't wait to bring my daughter here when she's home from college. Thank you for the fantastic items! read more

This place is a joke. I brought in a few items as a way to try out the store. They are less than friendly bordering on rude. They do ALL there business out of a binder making it imposable to track or hold them accountable. After the consignment period I came in to collect my money and the things that did not sell (as agreed). To my astonishment I received a pathetic little sum and was told the rest of my belongings had been donated, although they were unable to tell me to what charity in spite of the fact the donation had been made just that morning. There agreement form is poorly written and not followed by the store. Had they followed their own rules I would have my stuff. In my opinion I would have been better off donating the stuff myself and claiming the charitable contribution on my taxes. Crummy shop, crummy management. Don't waste your time. Go to goodwill. read more
