I was getting my inspection done over at the peppy boys. Wait was going to be an hour so I figured I'd go get lunch. I walked down the road to the little shopping center. There are a few eateries in there. I walked around and looked in the windows. I chose this place because I saw it had a nice little dining area to the right. A little unexpected when you walk in. So I went in and got a booth. A little old (Italian I assume) lady came over to serve me. I got a grilled chicken breast sandwich. On the menu it says this was a lighter meal. However it was a pretty large sandwich and a fat piece of chicken on it. Really good. Came with chips but I got fries for $3.25. Chicken sandwich was pretty good and so were the fries. I'd do it again. All said and done I'm walking out of there with a bill of $13. So I left $10 for the little old lady. $20 sone bucks feels normal these days. My dad still only gives $1-3 as a tip for a meal. A penny if they suck so they know you didn't forget. read more

I ordered two dinners and one of the dinners I believed was supposed to come with a salad and bread, but there was no salad bread so as uncomfortable as it is to have to call about this, I the restaurant to ask my dinner came with that and the guy hung up on me. Didn't bother to call me back I'm sure he had my number. Well, of course he had it because of my order so then I again and I asked the question and he said supposed to come with bread and salad. With all due respect....NO ONE speaks fluent English on the phones when I call PIna's and they refuse or can't put someone on who does so HOW can I order or ask a question? I've tried three weeks in a row and it's the same thing. I asked the gentleman to kindly put someone on who MIGHT understand me and then two men started arguing in the background in Italian and left me hanging so I eventually hung up lolol!! These guys (nice as they may be) do not understand a word I am saying or understand what I am asking and they should have people answering the phones who do speak and understand English fully OR at leaast have someone to hand the phone over too when I asked for that and not ignoring me while arguing! LOL! I wish I could speak Italian because I want their Tuesday night pizza speical and the guy kept saying "4 12 pizza?? What? What $12 pizza? Can you repeat that? lolol! This is our go to place for local pizzerias in our section of Philadelphia. Food is super tasty and is done fast and efficient as are the delivery drivers. I gave it a four star however, for two reasons they are not very welcoming and friendly coming into the restaurant to order/pickup(abrasive unsmiling & not saying things like thank you) and they do Chase off patrons of the strip mall that they're located in with the parking Nazi signs. Does not make patrons feel very warm and Welcome. Our family patrons the entire strip mall of businesses around the pizzeria too, and we frequently have to renegotiate parking so that we don't offend either the owner or the manager of Pina's- not sure who the person is that comes out to tell people to get out of the 3 Parking spots in front of the door. I understand the drivers need parking, but I've had my head bit off even when I'm Coming for pickup from their place. Or to the dry cleaners located directly next door. Just could be kinder to customers. But like I said, the food is wonderful, it's fast, efficient and delicious. read more

If you compare Pina's prices to other local Manayunk/Rox pizza prices, Pina's is literally almost half the price...and I know that because I did the math. Pina's is always tasty and reliable. My friend and I were always picking up or having food delivered throughout Covid-19. Still do. Pizza is so fresh - I love the dough. My friend gets pineapple and ham. I like their chicken dinners and they are huge and come with salad or soup. The soups are delicious. Pasta e Fagioli soup and beef barley are delicious, but my favorite is red crab chowder. It is fabulous! I like the flounder francaise too. They have specials that you should ask about. Pina's Pizza is a decent neighborhood pizzeria, not absurdly expensive, and worth a try. Called our order in around 6:30 PM, and was told everything would take 20 minutes. We ordered two large pizzas topped with pepperoni, along with two orders of garlic bread ($22 total). We drove down the street to pick up our meal and I only had to wait behind one person. It was a weekday but I presume they get busier on weekends? The pizza slices were pre-cut and greasy, as appropriate. Our pepperoni pizza was middle of the road: sauce was fine, pie not too crunchy (not too soft either), and ample toppings. The garlic bread (also pre-sliced) was garlicky buttery goodness, and the bread was on the softer side, covered in little garlic cloves. The guy who took my order, I think had a hearing problem so I encourage verify your order before you pay so when you return for pickup you'll be happy. Pandemic, schmandemic, I wanted to sit outside with a friend and eat Italian on a beautiful sunny day, and I aced it! I drove to Pina's to pick up our order of a Cheesesteak Special Stromboli and a Vegetarian Calzone. Right on time ready to go. I wanted to pay by credit card but not pass the card to them. So I had to yell out the card no, date and code to a fellow standing far away. Not cool, but no-one else was around. Drove the food home, took it out of the boxes onto plates and disposed of the cardboard (gotta be safe), and dived into some really scrumptious food! Delicious calzone and friend said his stromboli was great. They came with red sauce which was amazingly good. What a treat! 8 months pregnant and I didn't feel like cooking so my husband and I ordered a pizza and we'd heard good reviews about Pina's. After waiting an hour, our pizza arrived and being hungry, we dug right into it before discovering a large black HAIR in it. I immediately called to complain and the man I spoke with offered to make us another pizza. At this time, we were already very hungry so I asked if we could just get the free pizza another time. The man said sure, but then my husband, who was less desperate to eat immediately than his pregnant wife, said to send it now. The man said it'd be here in 15-20 minutes. More than a half hour later, the new pizza finally arrived. My husband went outside to get it so our toddler wouldn't be woken from the door bell and turned around to go back inside with the new pizza when the delivery man, in broken English, started saying "another pizza!" My husband didn't know what he was talking about so he continued to go toward the door and then the man got louder and his tone more aggressive and it became clear that he was asking for the original pizza back!! Of course, this makes no sense, since they had originally offered to let us redeem the free pizza at another time. I was completely aghast at the way this man talked to us when they were the ones to give us a pizza with a hair in it in the first place and probably should have specified to us on the phone that they'd be asking for the original one back. Pina's is easily one of the mroe underated places to eat in Roxborough. They have great stromboli (which are HUGE) and thier sicilian pie is the best I have every had. Sandwiches and pizza are just ok. I stopped ina two occassions for a sit down dinner and came away very stisfied and full. 2015- below is an old review of Pinas, however my last few experiences with Pinas have been less than satisfactory. I use to think that they made the best strombolis, but at some point they made changes to how they make their strombolis and they are now mediocre at best. I ordered an Italian stromboli and what I got was a stromboli with a ton of red and green peppers and a bit of sausage chunks. The last time that I checked an Italian anything constitutes of multiple types of meat. I will not be ordering strombolis from them in the future. 2013- Best pizza in the area. Awful food. We ordered the chicken bacon ranch wrap and the honey mustard chicken wrap. Neither wraps had any sauce on it, the chicken was bland, they were wrapped in two tortillas which seemed pointless. Also got potato skins which were expensive since they only gave us 4 and instead of real cheese it was cheese wiz. Overall a bland meal that wasn't even made correctly. They came which chips which were thrown all over the place and soggy. I would recommend to spend your money elsewhere.
