There were 10 of us in our group on a Saturday evening. Our server, Macklin M, was outstanding. One of our party has a dietary issue and not only was the restaurant able to meet her needs, Mac remembered her and even remembered what she had ordered over a week before when she was there! The food was above-average Italian (try the wedding soup!). Service was friendly and attentive without being smothering. The dining room was nicely appointed and clean. The one thing which would keep us from coming back is the terrible parking in the area. There are public lots, but the kiosk cancelled our transaction multiple times. Small portions, skimpy on the protein and not reasonably priced for the small amount of protein they serve. Always a disappointment for the prices they charge. Example: lunch special 1/2 hoagie $15. I wanted to love this place so badly. I've been to the one in Ambler which was so great I tried to find one closer to me. I decided to give this location a try since the menu was the same. The appetizers were very good. We ordered fried mozzarella and the stuffed mushrooms. If you're looking for a dreamy cheese pull, order the fried mozz. The marinara with it was tasty as well. Stuffed mushrooms were also very good and the sauce that was with them was even better. It was a rich creamy white sauce that married the taste of the mushrooms so well. For my entree I ordered the vodka gnocchi (which I had at the ambler location before) and the chicken parm. Yes I got two entrees because I was counting on it being so delicious I'd take it home for leftovers. So the gnocchi vodka was good, but the gnocchi were really overcooked to the point of mush that sticks to the roof of your mouth. For seventeen dollars, that was disappointing, but still ate it. It happens. Now the chicken parm. I am never one to return food. It FILLS me with so much anxiety. I always try to give people the benefit of the doubt and suck it up and eat it, but now that this was the second disappointing entree for twenty five dollars, I just couldn't do it. Also I didn't want to get sick. This chicken was undercooked to the point you could see pink inside. The consistency of the chicken too was very odd which really assured me it was not cooked right. After about ten minutes of internally struggling to say something, I let the waitress know. I apologized several times and really felt bad. Again, I don't ever send food back. She went back to let the cook know and insisted on getting me a new order. At this point I was really okay with not having it but since they insisted I agreed. When she came out she told me the chef said it was pink because of the sauce it was sitting in and that it was not the slightest bit raw. Listen, I am not a chef but I know raw chicken when I see it. It was not sauce and I know that for a fact because it didn't happen to the second order. Second order came out fine. I didn't really know what to say other than okay. My wife got the filet which she loved. Came with portobello mushrooms, a red wine reduction, roasted potatoes, and red onion. She literally inhaled it. We ate and left quickly after our entrees because the whole defensive response that had to be declared from the chef through the waitress made us terribly uncomfortable. I don't know. It just rubbed us the wrong way. The ambiance of the place was very cute. Good mix of casual and nice. I don't think we will return to this location though, will probably just stick to ambler. read more

Went here for my birthday with family. We were not impressed. The apps were fine. Fried mozz and crab stuffed mushrooms. The chicken marsala was earthy with a black sauce. I think the mushrooms werent cleaned. My mom had clams in white sauce. She said the clams were sandy, and there was so much sand it ruined the meal. My brother in law had chicken cutlet sandwich. He said it was way too much oil. My sis and wife had chicken parm. They both said because the chicken was thin they piled 4 pieces on top of each other so it was mushy and the sauce was too chunky. I have visited this restaurant now several times, and with each experience I have had an equally enjoyable time with delicious food. This last trip there was for my boyfriend's birthday and it was an over-the-top, amazing experience. We had personalized attention from the moment we walked in the door till the time that we left. They helped me take my coat and hang in their coat area, we had bottles of wine that were quickly chilled, opened and poured, and the owner of the restaurant came to give us his recommendations from the menu, as well as read us the specials instead of our waiter. The wait staff has been excellent in the past, and this time superseded expectations. The food was off the charts Amazing. We had light appetizers for starters and they brought out their signature parmesan bread!! The margarita pizza was so Crisp, hot and delicious we decided we will be purchasing our pizzas from there for take out as well. Our meals were outstanding, seafood, was fresh, and perfectly prepared. And the portions were huge with plenty for us to take home as well which we normally don't do. If you want some amazing local Italian food, this is the place to go. Atmosphere: as of now, outdoor dining is only available but the service was fast on a Tuesday night. We reserved for 7PM (encouraged today make reservations) but I don't think I would've been waiting too long if I hadn't made reservations. Although I did get 10 mosquito bites while I was sitting outside. So wear bug spray (especially if you're eating during sundown) Food: amazing!!! The penne vodka and stuffed mushrooms were recommended by a friend and I couldn't have been more impressed. The garlic knots completed this whole meal. It was so soft and so warm with so much flavor. I was told to dip the garlic knots into the sherry cream of the stuffed mushrooms and it was heaven. As pictured, we got one appetizer and two entrees. The pizza was mediocre (but NYC pizza kinda ruined me). Service: not much to say other than friendly and nice. I will definitely be returning with my family. We were in the mood for a Italian. Casual, BYOB, excellent service, very attentive Wait staff. The cheesy rolls were a good start. The stuffed mushroom appetizer was one of the best I've had. Our entrées, that's another story, my rigatoni Bolognese was weak, not very flavorful, I kept shaking on Parmesan cheese, because there was so little flavor. It wasn't terrible, but it was lackluster. my husband's shrimp scampi was also not very very flavorful. I guess bland would be best description of both entrees. If they took reservations I'd eat here more often! With long waits being the norm, we were lucky we were seated so quickly. (I just learned that they have an Ambler location, hopefully that's easier for the masses to get into.) This BYOB is surprisingly nice. Outside, the venue's a bit dated, but inside it's bright and comfortable, with a touch of Old World ambiance thanks to framed family photos along the walls. It can get a bit loud, so speak up! Shared a plate of calamari and mussels, which were fine. Table bread was excellent. As for my entree, my penne broccoli rabe with sausage was delicious, all sweet tomatoes, tender sausage, and slightly strong broccoli rabe. The kitchen knows their stuff. This place is byob and has a parking lot. I was seated within 5mins. It was pretty busy but service was still good. Our sever was friendly and I could tell many regulars come here by how everyone was interacting with eachother. You get comp garlic rolls while you wait. They taste great but I think it needs some marinara lol. It reminded me of breadsticks from dominos or little caesars lol I ordered one of their specials which was a side of potatoes, and steak topped with prosciutto, cheese, and spinach. After the long wait everything was better. They do not take reservations. They will open your wine and let you sip while waiting for your table. I have never done a review before. I don't believe that you can leave less than one star. This place deserves zero at best...negative would be even more appropriate. This was a good restaurant quite a number of years back. A few years ago, the wait staff was so rude that we decided to never return. Well, tonight I was stuck so I ordered takeout. Foolish move. The person who answered the phone and the person at the pickup window...perhaps the same young lady...was completely indifferent and rude. That did not surprise me. I was, however, stunned at how horrible the food was. The eggplant was mush. Here is the photo of the fries, which were cold, burnt, soggy, greasy and had something green scattered in. I have to start this review by saying that in all the many visits I have made to From The Boot I have never had a bad meal. I went yesterday with 2 friends and I am sorry that other than the picture of the Garlic Knots I did not take any others. We started the meal with a "Custom Pizza" (Large) with Sauce, Olive Oil and Basil (no cheese) and it was insanely good. I ordered the Filet with the onions and mushrooms (and the reduction) on the side with a side of Fettuccini with Vodka Sauce. Perfect!, My one friend got the Veal Piccata with Angel Hair Pasta (he had them put the Piccata Sauce on the Pasta. He was quite happy with his meal as well. My other friend ordered Chicken Saltimbocca which came with Potatoes and Vegetables. We did not get dessert (we ordered it but it was taking too long and the guilt set in so we cancelled it).
