Tonight I ordered something different based on the description on the menu: Pad Woon Sen - stir-fried clear noodles served with an egg, baby corn, mushrooms, tomatoes, green and white onions, and choice of meat. What I got was cabbage, green peppers, white onions, tomatoes, baby corn, and an egg, no mushrooms and no green onions. Had I known I was going to get green peppers, I would have told them to hold them. Not happy that their menu is either inaccurate, or someone in the kitchen wasn't paying attention and/or took liberties. Additionally, the beef was so tough I couldn't chew it. Definitely going to have to rethink ordering from Pimmy's again. read more

My husband and I grabbed dinner here a few nights back, she had Pad Thai and I had Red Curry with Chicken. The food was delicious, certainly on par with other Thai restaurants we have been to, and the service was excellent. Not one, but two waitresses checked in on us regularly, brought us tea and water, and asked of everything was to our liking. They were very polite, not distracting. The ambience is nice, it's clean, reasonably priced, and the food is authentic. What more could you ask of the only Thai restaurant in Kenosha? Go there, get your curry fix. read more

Me and my husband drove past and thought we would give it a try since I love Thai Food. We entered and the servers greeted us and sat us down. We were looking over the menus and the server didn't come back to us after 20 mins but that was only because my husband called the waiter for her to take the order. And there wasn't anyone in the restaurant. The food itself was delicious! I ordered the Pad See Ew and my husband ordered Thai Pepper Steak with Brown Rice! And we loved it! While we were eating the waiter was going through the cutlery and making so much noise it was so disturbing while we were eating. She barely came to come check on us for refills or to ask if we needed anything else. The service itself was truly horrible. I loved their food but I didn't even feel welcomed. Another family dinner experience. I saw Pimmy's on Yelp and decided to try it. My daughter had been there before and gave a thumbs up. Firstly, the wife and I love Tod Mun and could make a dinner of this alone. But wait, there's more. The chive dumplings are quite tasty. Wonton Soup tickled the palate. The three of us had a fine eat out and the spiciness could be adjusted to the palate. Now for the down side. The staff is short on servers so the preferred method is to use a phone app. Not the best idea for the less technical crowd unless you bring a kid who is cellphone literate. She forgot to check the eat in block so we were presented with carry out packaging. However, this ended happily as the portions are quite large and we took a lot home anyway. Kenosha has been busily ripping up the roads so be careful when turning into the parking lot until the street demolition is done. Definitely on the return business list. read more

I really love this Thai place. We ordered crab rangoon and red curry (duck and chicken). The crab rangoon had a crispy shell that wasn't too think and a flavorful filling. The sweet and sour sauce was incredible. I found out later that they make it in house! We both loved our red curries. The duck and chicken was cooked well. We didn't add any stars to our curry, but probably would in the future. It was still very flavorful without that added spice. The service was great and personable. Our food came out piping hot within 15ish mins! The restaurant is very clean and tastefully decorated. I highly recommend! read more

This is a cute place, and the food is pretty darn good. I ordered Tom Yum Shrimp, which was ok, but not my favorite. I'll skip it next time. I also ordered my favorite, Yum Woon Sen. Now THAT was good! Added a little sambal and fish sauce it it was PERFECT! YUM! Just a note to the waitress, who needs to slow down, speak to customers and not make people feel like they are a bother. Other than her, it was lovely. read more

Great Thai food. I always order the Ginger Catfish and/or Spicy Basil Catfish. The Seafood combo is really flavorful and there is a cilantro infused Thai chili sauce that goes a long way in as one of the best spicy sauces I ever had. The vegetables were made fresh and I really appreciated the service here. I live in Chicago where there are tons of good Thai restaurants to choose from and really wish Pimmy's restaurant was here because it's one of my favorites. In an area where only commercial chain restaurants that serve mediocre food, Pimmy's is putting Kenosha on the map with great fresh food, a friendly staff and good presentation. This new spot has incredible food for the price. Service is a little slow, but chalk it up to this being their third week in business. Everything is prepared by order, and it's very apparent that the chef takes pride in each dish. We ordered appetizers, soups, salads and an entree each. Every dish was remarkable. Flavorful, fresh and worth the wait! Not much for ambiance- cheap chairs and tables. You get a great portion size for the money and every flavor palate was right on point. One of the best green curries I'd ever experienced!! First time my dad tried green curry- and he loved it too! Let them grow into their location, and clear popularity. To be fair, this comes from a dine-in perspective. I was very disappointed and it was not a good value for the money. I spent about $25 for an appetizer and an entree, with nothing to drink. When I asked for a cup of water, I was told I'd have to buy a bottle of water. Then, they served things in plastic containers with a paper plate, just like take-out. The main dish was heavy on the sauce, light on the meat. The dining room could have been so much better with some care and effort. The furniture was nice, but they were using part of the dining area for storage and had the tables arranged in a disorganized, cluttered manner. It looks like the owner does not care to provide a good experience for dine-in customers. I hope he/she finds the inspiration to get their act together. Besides not caring, you are losing money by not proving customers with a decent plate to eat off of or a cup of water. read more

Walking in, the spot is kinda small I think max occupancy was 60 people. The decor was simple and It seemed like a small family owned restaurant vs a chain. There was no wait and our appetizers were picture perfect! Our lunch wasn't as pretty but it was definitely good. I had the seafood noodles. It did have an authentic taste which I do apppreciate. I ordered- pad se ew (tofu), yellow curry (chicken), cucumber salad and Thai iced tea. All was delicious my only issue is they forgot my fried tofu and they charge a dollar for a tiny thing of peanut sauce. Other Thai places charge a dollar but give you a lot. I recommend them though they have delicious food everything was cooked correct, neat and nothing seemed rushed to be cooked. Def will be back! read more

The is our 2nd time coming here. 1st visit was around 8 months ago and meals tasted fine. Today we order 3 dishes. Pad see ewe with beef, chicken pad Thai and Thai pepper steak. The pad see ewe and pepper steak was very disappointing. Both were drowned with sauce that was not at all thick enough to be called sauce. The consitency of the sauce was like a thin soup. The flavor of the sauce was there, but way too watery. The beef and steak was terrible. Hardest beef I have ever chewed. Beef jerky was softer than their beef. The pad Thai was ok, the chicken was also dried and tough. The steam rice that came with the pepper steak was also mushy, overcooked and too much water added. This place loves adding too much water to everything. This will be our last time going to pimmys. read more

Called to find out how late they were open so we could eat there. The woman said 9pm. We get the and it is only pickup. When I tried to express my concern to the two women up front they ignored me and began speaking to each other in their own language. One then answered the phone and the other walked to the back. my husband went to ask if he could get shrimp with the order and she scolded him and told him she already said he could. there is other thai cuisine. We will go elsewhere next time where the staff is not rude. read more

I LOVE LOVE LOVEEEE this place!!!! Their yellow coconut curry is to die for!!!! They use chicken breast with potatoes, carrots and onion. I wish I had the recipe it's so good!!! We probably have it twice a month! You get a good amount for $10 too! We also love their crab rangoons with the sweet and sour sauce, yum! And can't forget the pad Thai, it has the right amount of sweetness. We always order pick up but their restaurant is quaint and very warm. It is right next to ihop, can't miss it if you're going down 75th st! Food is always prompt and served hot. The ladies who work the front are very welcoming. I have no complaints! read more

It was quite good. Even though the restaurant is in a strip mall, it has a nice feel inside and is very clean. The prices are reasonable. Nice, little Thai restaurant easily accessible on Hwy 50. After a day of shopping, stop in to grab a quick bite. For lunch, I shared the mixed vegetables with shrimp and the pad see ewe. Both were delicious, but I liked the mixed vegetables slightly more. First came here for lunch, was given a bowl of soup, an egg roll and my entree for $10. I had the crazy spicy noodles and my husband had the Thai fried rice. Both were served hot, fresh, and bursting with flavor! Nothing was greasy or soggy, the vegetables were cooked perfectly and actually tasted as they should instead of drenched in salt. My son and I ate dinner at Pimmy's for the first time last night. We had the combination appetizer plate, spicy soup, fried rice and red curry salmon. The appetizers were well made and came w sauces. The soup was very good. The fried rice was average, while the salmon in my opinion was over cooked and appeared to have a breading covering along w the curry red coconut sauce. Oh, how I wanted to love this place! I loved Thai Gourmet. They were really solid, and the service was great. Pimmy's is casual dining (sit down type restaurant with paper placemats). My teen son and I were the only diners there on a Tuesday at 2 pm. Our waitress moseyed over after a bit of a wait, seemed either bored or sleepy, and we gave her our drink order and were able to order our apps/meals by that time, too. We ordered: A Sprite, an ice water, egg rolls (which I specified should be brought out as an appetizer), chicken satay and crab rangoon (my son's "meal," which I specified we'd like to have arrive with my meal) and Pad Thai with chicken, spicy level 2. When the waitress read the order back to me, I confirmed with her that she'd understood our timing request for the various appetizer menu items. She brought our drinks. The water tasted bleach-y. I had my son taste it to be sure. Confirmed. About 15 minutes later, my son's satay* came out first. Seriously? A few minutes later, she brought the egg rolls* and crab rangoon* out together. Fine. Whatever. Okay. Not the end of the world. My son and I can eat our meals at different times. About 5 minutes later, the Pad Thai comes out. It's brown (not the red tamarind color that I've come to expect from great pad thai). It's about 30% smaller of a serving size than Thai Gourmet used to serve, at about the same price. I spent 2 minutes fishing out all of the tofu that was curiously added to my CHICKEN pad thai (probably to make it look more substantial in spite of the fact that there was maybe a third of a chicken breast in it). I don't want to eat tofu. I hate tofu. If I wanted to eat tofu, I'd order pad thai with tofu. Then I bit into it, and my mouth was instantly on fire. This was way spicier than most level 2s (and I can deal with some heat -- I regularly use sriracha on my foods at home, and grew up a fixture in my Laotian best friends' homes eating food with them). I wasn't going to be able to eat it. I didn't eat any more beyond the first bite. It was just not at all what I was expecting. The waitress didn't check on us. She was sitting on the counter. There were no other customers. It was only after another waitress came in to start her shift and saw us looking around that we were asked if we were okay. I explained to her the deal with the pad thai. She made a note on the check, took it to the counter, and then they never came back to the table to say they would or wouldn't do anything about it. They did take it off the bill when I got to the register, but only after trying to charge me for it anyway and only after it became clear it was the only chance they had of me coming back and trying something else. My son, a teen who works a customer service job, even remarked that not charging a customer for something they couldn't eat is Customer Service 101. Sigh. I really wanted to love them. I'll give them another shot in a couple of weeks, with a different menu item, seriously low-balling the spice level to be safe. *In case you're wondering, the egg rolls were nothing to write home about. Bland, and because they're small, they wrap the wrapping around it a couple of extra times and it results in a doughy underlayer instead of a totally crispy eggroll. If you ever want seriously amazing Thai style egg rolls, order some frozen from Mamma's eggrolls online and cook them in oil when you feel like having them at home -- you will not be disappointed. The satay and crab rangoon were serviceable but my son was disappointed in the portion size. To be fair, he's a 15 year old boy with a huge appetite. read more

My husband and I love Thai food, so when this place opened up, we had to go. My parents went about a month before us and wouldn't stop raving about their cashew chicken. Anyway, we've been three times so far, and every time we've eaten at Pimmy's it's been an amazing experience. From the start, the wait staff is extremely friendly and happy to guide you through the menu. The owner, Pimmy herself, is always seen around the restaurant, and I found that to be very welcoming. The first time we went, we ordered the cucumber salad and chicken satay as an appetizer. Both we amazing. The salad has the perfect amount of spice and cool to it. For the entree, we ordered the Rama Chicken. The peanut sauce was sweet, but not overpowering. Last time I went, I ordered the yellow curry (massaman) and it was absolutely amazing. I ordered it with shrimp in it instead of chicken. I am happy to support a local business with a female owner that actually deserves praise and recommendation! Went there yesterday for the first time at an off peak hour and had an amazing dining experience. I ordered the Spicy Basil chicken, which was excellent and my companion had the red curry with duck, which I had a taste of and it was truly delicious. The appetizers were delectable especially the basil dumplings. The attentiveness also of the owner and staff was superb! The decorum was authentic from Thailand I was told. Very beautiful pieces to look at. I highly recommend if you love Thai food to give this new place a try, although since apparently it can get busy, during peak hours, perhaps try an off peak hour. We went last night at 6:00 PM with our two young daughters. At 7:30 1 appetizer came (never got our spring rolls or husband's soup). Entrees came right after. CON's: First peak dining night/time had overwhelmed them. Long 90 minute wait and some food they never even delivered (an appetizer and a soup), but took off our bill. 1 waitress for entire place. I felt soooo bad for her. It seemed that they only had 1 cook. Between take out, delivery and in-restaurant, they just couldn't keep up and were overwhelmed. PRO's: THE FOOD IS AMAZING and LOW PRICES (most dinner entrees are $8-11). BOTTOM LINE: We're really rooting for this place because the food and prices can't be beat. My husbands red curry w/shrimp (level 4 heat) was amazing, pad thai was good and the kids loved the Bankok rice (even though it wasn't served inside of a pineapple as advertised). The thai iced tea was perfect as well as the hot tea. I recommend going during the week for an early (or late) lunch/dinner to avoid the confusion/chaos that happens during peak hours... or call your order in and expect to wait a little longer to pick it up from the time they say it's ready - we noticed people waiting an extra 20-30 minutes for take out. You CANNOT pass judgement on a place in the first week of it's opening. We WILL patronize them again and we will pray they can get the kinks worked out because we really enjoyed the food and Kenosha needs a good thai place again. *Note to Pimmy's: I think if you do a small comp when things go wrong with a table (like free drinks), it will give people more faith and know that you really care for them to come back. I was actually really excited to try this place out since I love Thai food! My boyfriend and I came here last weekend and when we walked in nobody greeted us, we didn't really pay much attention to that since we did see that they were understaffed. The customer service there sucks, no apologies for the wait, no NOTHING! The food was so bland, so BLAH, not authentic. If you love spicy like I do then don't come here, you won't find that here. Also, we ended up just taking one bite off the white rice, it was cold and not even fully cooked! There was actually hard pieces of rice in there. All in all this is one of those places I will not come back to. I learned that Sticky Rice in Racine is definitely worth the drive!! We've gotten food from here twice. The first was on opening day. I ordered pad thai and was SUPREMELY disappointed. I could picture the chef scratching his head while looking at a cookbook saying "Tamarind? What on earth is that?". I sent feedback that they REALLY need to dial up the tamarind and was told that they would listen. A month or two later we gave them another shot and I got the pad thai again. The noodles were decently cooked, the shrimp was EXCELLENT (only reason I'm giving them 2 stars)....but still not even the faintest hint of tamarind. That is a dealbreaker for me. Spring rolls have a strange sort of uncooked dough wrapper that's just really unappealing. Crab rangoon is pretty gross. I would not recommend this restaurant until they get their act together. read more
