Overall the drink was okay - I felt the matcha taste wasn't as strong and the mango flavour took over really fast. I went at around 9:30am on a workday so it wasn't as busy and it was quick to get my order as well. There are a lot of options for coffee on the PATH, but Pilot certainly stands out. Not just for its clean and elegant interior, but also for the quality of their coffee. Which is probably the most important thing for a coffee shop. The service doesn't fall short either, so a full 5 stars for them. The people that work here are nice and you can count on them serving you a cup of coffee that upholds their standards each time. I got a cappuccino and a chocolate croissant when I passed by in the morning on a weekday and it was the perfect start to my day. I found their cappuccino to be really good. Just enough espresso taste balanced out with milk foam. It was also just the right temperature when I sipped it. read more

Busy outpost in the path level at First Canadian Place. Quick service with great coffee.

Pilot is one of the trendier, and therefore busier coffee spots in the PATH. An office favourite, Pilot has become my go-to when I need a pick-me-up. It's a bit pricy, as you'd expect in the area, and with the Bay Street crowd. In order of preference: the cookies are good, the drip coffee is above average, the lattes are okay (try the matcha!), the scones are a miss, and the paninis a stay-far-away. read more

Whenever I walk past this place, I'm always surprised that there ISN'T the huge line that is customary of coffee shops around here (case in point: the Tim Hortons in the adjacent plaza that I also walk past every morning). This is because the baristas here are super efficient and the crowd of customers moves forward very smoothly. At the same time service has always been unfailingly friendly. I also love that despite the tiny space itself, the place is really nicely laid out: there are several tables in the corner as well as seats by the window so you can hangout and chat for a bit before leaving. All this being said, in all honesty I really did not enjoy the coffee here. This is somewhat strange because I've been to several other shops which use their beans and liked the taste there. The taste of the brew here though...once I've had to throw away my cup after a few sips because I couldn't stomach how sour and bitter it was... The lattes are a lot better, but only after adding a ton of milk and sugar. Of course, this is just my personal opinion - I know that Pilot has quite a strong following so please don't judge me for my unsophisticated coffee tastebuds :P The caffeine does work superbly though. Baristas are pretty friendly and the line moved quickly. That said, my latte was unbelievably small by anyone's standards. Terrible value.

This Pilot Coffee Roasters is located inside the PATH between First Canadian Place and Scotia Plaza, so there are always patrons in suits here. This location is much larger than the one at Union Station, has a few tables, multiple baristas making coffee at the same time, and has multiple entrances/exits! You'll understand why this is important if you visit the Union Station location. It's not isolated to this Pilot location, but Pilot recently changed the chocolate that they use to make mochas. It's a dark chocolate. Although I like dark chocolate, I don't like it in my coffee. I find the newer chocolate to be too bitter. The newer chocolate also increased the price to $4.75 + tax. I tried the mocha at this location as well as the Union Station location and the one at this location was less bitter. Please bring back the Godiva chocolate! I do love Pilot coffee, so I may have to find a new favorite drink. read more

This cafe has a lovely atmosphere, quiet and cozy, and the staff are very kind. It's a place where you can spend many hours, as it seems many do. Almost everyone else in the cafe that day was working on their computer. I ordered a cappuccino and I wasn't a big fan. Some cappuccinos are stronger than others, but this one was so strong that it was hard for me to finish. It was something that could maybe be enjoyed with food, but I would definitely order something else next time. If I go again I'll be sure to update my review, as I think it's a little unfair to judge a café based on one drink! read more

I LOVE Pilot coffee! Every time I see one of their locations, I b-line like a moth to a flame to grab their coffee magic and baked goodness! This particular location is gorgeous and has quite the peaceful vibe despite being in the hectic PATH. It's partly due to the cool decor and the very friendly staff that welcome you and say "good morning" that feels genuine! The barista sings in the background and coffees are served quickly but with the quality that you'd expect of Pilot - amazing every time. Took me a few days to find this place in the maze of what is the PATH of downtown Toronto. It's in the basement under the BMO tower beside Harry Rosen. It's probably one of the best coffee shops in Toronto along with Hestia under the TD Tower. Their oat milk is very good and is a must try. Great alternative to soy or almond. This location hires staffs that is unacceptably rude. First, the cashier gave me an attitude when just saying the amount that I owe. Never said thank you! I took a boomerang photo of their coffee tap. Thought it was a cool post for Instagram. Shockingly, a female barista with short hair WARNED me in a very RUDE and unacceptable behaviour to ask her for permission to take photos next time. I apologized. She just kept putting on an angry face and did not say a word. I guess apology was not accepted! There are other ways to deliver this message, or ask your management to put a sign that says, "Please ask before taking photos". Don't work in the service industry if you hate people. It's been a hot summer and I need my caffeine iced! Pilot is able to offer an iced americano, latte, or mocha. I decided to go with a latte. My drink wasn't filled to the top, I think so that I could add more milk or syrup if I wanted. It seemed like they left way too much space though because the amount of syrup that needed to top it off probably would have given me diabetes. The latte was pretty strong in flavour and high in caffeine. Kinda would have just preferred some basic Starbucks drink for the price. read more

Service is ok. When I asked for cinnamon they said "we are minimalists" ... not sure what that means. Simple "sorry, we don't offer cinnamon" would do. I'm sure their coffee is technically very excellent - however the high acidity is far too much for my palate. I really don't like it at all. I wouldn't say I have the most sophisticated taste buds for coffee but I've been certainly improving over the time I've been visiting small coffee shops all over Toronto, buying beans from local micro roasters and pulling espresso shots at home. I've enjoyed the coffee extracted from beans provided by Pilot Coffee Roasters at locations of different brands (Fahrenheit and Te Aro) but this Pilot location was disappointing on two separation occasions. Considering one can enjoy much better results from other cafes in close proximity (M Squared, Boxcar Social, Sam James, Dineen), it is unfortunate I cannot think of a reason to return to this place. read more

Coffee was okay. What really ruined the experience for me though was the rude service. This was the first time I have ever been there and didn't see the sign where the line up begins because it is behind some wall. One of the cashiers saw me standing in front of the cash and not in line and said "So are you cutting in line?," I said "What?," he said the "if you looked, the sign is right there!" He said it in an annoyed and degrading tone. However, at the time, there wasn't even anyone standing in line!!!! Just ruined my mood completely!
