Pilgreen's was a lovely setting to host an afternoon baby shower. Trish was wonderful to work with, and she put together a beautiful menu for the event. The food and service were excellent, and many of our guests complimented both. It was a wonderful experience, and I would happily host another event there. read more

We decided on Pilgreen's to celebrate my husband's birthday. It was just the two of us and there was no wait and got seated right away. Our waiter came over and was very nice and gave us the info on the birthday discount. That was a nice surprise. We got an appetizer of fried mushrooms and cauliflower- it was nice and crispy but not worth $15. I ordered the beef kabobs MW and the came out MRare, I couldn't eat it so I got it to go so I could cook it more at home. The baked potatoes good and the salad was bagged lettuce- disappointing. My husband ordered fried sirloin with gravy and mashed potatoes. The meat was ok until it was dipped completely in some brown gravy that was at best canned or in a jar. The mashed potatoes plain but tasted ok. Service was good but I think that might be our last time giving it a try and I hate that cause it's literally 5 miles from our house. read more

The food service and ambience was great. I love how they have upgraded the place and I love my waitress.. Nieka she is truly the best I will be returning again and again read more

This is an old school restaurant that's been around for years. The food is good not great. I have been there several times, and the staff is excellent. The steaks are what you would expect for the price paid. I would say they mirror the quality of Texas Roadhouse, Longhorns. They do chicken really well. and their tenders are a cut above along with their kabobs. Ambience is mediocre. The place has potential but is in need of a renovation. Oh, I need to mention the onion rings aka Rips Rings. If you love onion rings, these baby's are truly the best that I have ever had. This is a must! All in all, you will get a good meal and service for the money. If you are looking for great, you will need to go to Atlanta and fight the traffic and high prices. read more

We attended an anniversary dinner there. Great atmosphere and service for sure! It could've been because it was a buffet style dinner but the food was not the best...I am going to try them again for dinner to be fair. If the customer service is great it's always worth a second chance to me! read more

We went here to celebrate a friend's birthday. First of all thus place is huge! They were extremely busy. Also they don't open the doors until 5pm. So when you arrive b4 5pm there are a lot of people waiting in cars til it opens. So be ready for that. The prices are pretty reasonable and they do not charge gratuity automatically like many other restaurants do. So we at the table ordered the 3 combo appetizers which included fried cauliflower, fried mushrooms, and fried onion rings. I really enjoyed the cauliflower and onion rings. The fried mushrooms were very very greasy. The vegetables were also very bland but I still liked them. For my meal, I ordered the Loaded Chicken. It came with grilled onions, bacon, and cheese on top. It was moist and flavorful. The other ladies ordered the seafood platter to with they said it was very greasy. We had to call the manager about the food. In my opinion she did not handle our situation with any type of grace. She was not apologetic AT ALL. That left a very bad taste in my mouth. The experience overall was ok. Not sure it I will be back again. read more

Visited this place because it's probably the only restaurant I hadn't visited in Henry county. It is off the beaten path. Plenty of parking. Sits on a lake. Nice views. The food unfortunately, left a lot to be desired. I had strip steak and mashed potatoes. The steak was ok. The mashed potatoes literally had zero seasoning. ZERO! My date had sirloin, collards and fried cauliflower. He said the collards and fried cauliflower were good. He didn't have any complaints about the steak. I wouldn't return just because the food just wasn't to be desired. HOWEVER... the staff was absolutely amazing. Very professional. Very engaging. Prompt to assist. Customer service wise... they get a 5. Food is a 3. read more

Service is amazing and workers are friendly. The food can be a hit or miss. Sometimes we go and it's awful, and other times it's very good!

Pilgreens is a nice, Classy restaurant that my Wife and I spent our 23 wedding Anniversary there. And we loved the cute

The ambiance on the outside is good and you have a great view but the inside is very outdated!! Food was good though!! Steak was GREAT!!

Our waitress for my party of 14 was ther bomb! We ordered everything from fried chicken to pork chops to steaks. Two of the steaks had to be sent back since they weren't cooked medium like we like. The waitress quickly apologized and the next order was excellent! The cheesesteak was delicious. We ordered onion rings, chicken fingers, and mushrooms for appetizers and they came out hot! Make sure to ask for any sauces since they didn't seem to bring them out unless you ask (like honey mustard, or any dipping sauce for the mushrooms and onion rings). They don't take reservations so we got there at 5:15 on a Saturday when they opened and we still had to wait over an hour. The staff and hostess was very kind and gave us a couple of waters while we waited. Over all, we left full and happy. .. and there is plenty of parking. read more

Pilgreens is an old school Henry county staple and there not many places like it left! We walked right in on a weeknight evening. No reservation needed we were seated right away with no wait. We had a table with a great view of the pool, lake, and tennis courts! We started with the friend cauliflower which came highly recommended. The fried cauliflower is so good you forget you're eating cauliflower! We each ordered the seafood platters as our entree. Our server was excellent she made accommodations for the variations we all wanted to the seafood platter! The stuffed crab, the shrimp, and the fish filet were all excellent! The shrimp had that fresh Georgia shrimp taste that you only get when it's fresh! Can't say enough good things about our server! She was attentive and friendly! We never went without! The prices at this steakhouse are also reasonable! We'll come back to Pilgreens for our next special occasion! read more

Ughhh, I was brought here for a going away dinner for a retirement. To say the food was disappointing is any understatement. One of my coworkers took my NY strip steak home to give to her dogs and I felt like I had to call her to see how her dogs were doing the next day, no joke... The staff is good and made attempts to make it feel high end, but it's just a local hangout with mediocre grub. read more

Excellent service, and it is great to dine in a restaurant where you can actually hear the conversation going on at the table. No loud music or blaring TVs. Food is delicious! We enjoy dining at Pilgreens. read more

Extremely disappointing experience. The Bacon & Cheddar Tots were a joke. Less than a slice of cheese and the bacon was processed. The wine tasted like vinegar. The Caesar salad was wilted chopped romaine with Kraft tasting salad dressing and a couple of rock hard croutons. Had to send 3 steaks back because they couldn't do medium rare. That combined with being the toughest $24.95 Ribeye was crazy. Do yourself a favor and go to Huddle House. You'll find better food. Lastly, the "manager" had an attitude that the people at table called "a little belligerent". Last word, save your time and money and bypass this establishment. read more

The floor was so sticky my slip on shoes almost came off of my feet several times. The round couch in the waiting area was so filthy I was afraid to go near . Our waitress, Mason, was pleasant. Our food was mediocre. Over all our experience was lacking. I won't go back. read more

This restaurant has the worst all-around customer service & management I have ever experienced. I cannot tell you about the food, because we never got ours. Our party of 3 (on my mom's birthday) ordered a steak, chicken fingers and a salad. Not a complicated order. At the 1 hour mark, we still had not received our food. With no dinner in sight, we told our server to cancel our order & bring the check for our drinks & appetizer. At that point, the manager/owner (Sharon) rushed over and said we couldn't leave, because our meal was coming right out. I told her we had been waiting an hour. She barked that the ticket said the order was put in at 7:05 pm. I told her no, we had ordered at 6:15 pm. She barked at me again, louder: "The ticket shows you ordered 7:05!!" She then handed me the check. I asked her, "Do you think I'm lying to you?!" She didn't respond, she just sneered at me. The server, who knew when our order was put in, was standing in front of her, but she didn't ask him. Having worked as a server, we were drilled that the customer is always right, even when they're wrong. I was stunned at her attitude. She snatched the check from me acting like she was the wronged party - not me and my parents who had waited an hour for a steak, chicken fingers and a salad that still hadn't come. Not to mention my mom's birthday dinner was ruined. Save your time and your money and bypass this restaurant. read more

Food was good and so was the service! Atmosphere was nice. Quiet overlooking golf course and lake.

I called days before the 4th of July. I left several messages. No one called me back. When I finally reached someone they assured me not once but twice that they would be open. I drove there from at 20 miles away and they were closed!! Bad business upfront...NEVER AGAIN!! If I could give them a zero, I would. read more

Great place to eat !!! Love the onion rings ... very nice view and friendly atmosphere

Been a long timer eater at the various Pilgreens locations since the 80s, as a child, and glad to say they still got it! Love this location, as it has an enclosed bar area that allows smoking. The bartender was my waitress as well and she was very attentive and kind. The food was great! Just a quick tip: if you order steaks, tell them to char grill it. Also order the fried mushrooms and fried cauliflower. read more

My first time at Pilgreen's since so many people recommend this place. The restaurant is claimed to be on the water. It's not on the water but very close by to the lake. My first impression was that the building needed to be renovated and updates were needed to be made. Looks like no updates have been made since opened in 1930's. They are known for their steaks and unfortunately I didn't get to try it. Our food was nothing special. Mediocre. Our waitress was very attentive and had great customer service skills. The bar has its own closed off section that is completely done In wood. Looks like an old fashion study. You can also smoke in there which I thought was cool. Overall the whole restaurant needs some new ambience and new menu. Had major potential. Pros were the view and customer service. read more

I do not get this place. Went with friends and knew Sunday night was Senior Night.... 25 % off. Off what, read below. I got seafood platter and fried cauliflower. Cauliflower was very food. Especially with horseradish. Seafood platter. MEH. Shrimp are very good. Decent size, yummy batter, deviled crab so so. Fish fillet just not good. Captain Ds anout 100 times better IMO. At their recommendation, tried Garzongola something or other salad dressing. They do not bother to tell you it is extra. Same thing with baked potato, cheese and bacon extra. Potato way overdone. Wife got Ribeye. Cooked perfectly but sub prime meat for sure. Now to the senior special. 25% off entree IF you order a drink. No one told us this earlier. So, we both ordered coffee. When our bill came. We were told ribeye not "eligible " for senior discount. Wtf? I guess they figure when you 60, teeth are no good anymore. Seems there were some other hidden gems but being a senior, it slips my mind. Really, the only good thing about the meal was our server, Morgan. She did a wonderful job. She does not set specials or senior rules. She the only reason I did not give it a 1. Wonderful young lady. I will never darken these doors again. read more

Pilgreen's Steakhouse does not disappoint. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. The ribeye is my favorite with great collard greens. Must try the fried cauliflower, fried dill pickles and fried onion rings (with their homemade batter). Best Caesar salad you can find. Even the pre-meal bread is awesome. Best drinks in town, they are not skimpy on the liquor! Warm atmosphere located inside the mansion in Lake Dow. read more

This was a tough review to write. I grew up going to the original Pilgreens's with my family, this is probably my 3rd visit to this location. **The fried mushrooms are excellent and always have been** The salads are basically a plate of lettuce with one slice of onion on top. The steak isn't as good as I remember. The rolls are bland. read more

An old favorite, still doing what they've done very well for almost 90 years. A large order of fried cauliflower was delicious and more than enough as a starter for the four of us. My T-bone was cooked medium and was juicy and tender. Collard greens, dowsed from the biggest pepper sauce bottle you'll ever see, were perfect. A typical Friday night at Pilgreen's - a short, leisurely drive over with NO TRAFFIC. Almost never a wait, but usually a solid crowd. A staff that is friendly, but not overbearing or pretentious. We usually see at least two or three friends when we go. Last night was no exception. Carry on, Pilgreen's. read more
