So, my mother-in-law has been talking about One Pot for a few months so my husband and I decided to take her here. Since she heard it was so good we had extremely high expectations. We walked in and were a bit disappointed to find out we had to take our food to go with no seating available anywhere on the inside. We spent quite a bit of money on seafood, which of course is normally expensive. We got our food and went home. We all shared our dishes and it seemed like all of our food was fried too hard or made then refried to make it hot again. I got some fried catfish nuggets that were pretty good. My fried whiting was so hard and I didn't taste any meat. My husband bought me a blue crab that was A-OK. My mother-in-law got some shrimp and they were tasty but the boil she got with turkey necks - yuck - wasn't good in the least. I don't know if my husband enjoyed his food too much but he ate most of it. LOL, but if you know my husband, he doesn't waste money so... Yeah. I definitely won't be back and I wouldn't recommend this place. We could've gone to Pappadeaux for a little bit more. read more

This is a mom and pop operation. The food was fresh and reasturant clean. There is no in-house seating...so take out orders only. The pricing however is not on the low end. My low country boil ( for the lack of their actual term) was $27 It consisted of Turkey necks, 10 Shrimp, 1lb=1 Cluster Snow crab corn sausage and potato. Not bad I guess. Great sized portions for the price. The potatoes, corn, shrimp, and snow crab legs were all pretty big. However, the seasoning is weak. If you are a serious crab eater, this is just not the place. I don't think I even tasted a hint of garlic on anything. I thought they used old bay seasoning but it didn't even taste like that. If you are used to eating crab legs with nothing but butter, then this may be your style. There is only a hint of flavor, the rest taste like water. I won't be returning to this place. Was told on our last visit that the restaurant is now under new management and they were not lying- you can really tell the difference. The price on the menu is reasonable for the quality served and well worth it; ordered 10 pounds of crawfish with extra corn and potatoes for a birthday party and it was a hit. I have been coming to One Pot now for atleast two years. The prices have steadily increased and the quality of the food has changed a bit. Now don't get me wrong, the food here is amazing at times and ok during others. I have gotten potatoes that weren't cooked all the way or over cooked. Corn that wasn't cooked long enough. While those are the cons they have some pros as well. They have readily rectified any mistake that may have been made with my order. The crab legs always taste fresh and the meat is naturally sweet. I love crab legs. I have never gotten crab legs to go. I always have them at a restaurant for dine in. Usually on vacation at the beach. The only problem with that is 1. It takes forever to eat them and everyone else is done and ready to leave while your still cracking those shells, and 2. I'm not on vacation. I decided today that I had to have some crab legs and I wanted to take them home and enjoy them without feeling rushed. This place has been on my radar to try. The woman, I believe her name was Vo, took my order. She toured me through the menu and made sure I got exactly what I needed. I got the #8. It had two claw clusters, 10 juicy (cooked just right) shrimp, a whole potato cut in half, and a corn on the cob. I also ordered a lemonade because I saw a big tank of it. I was very pleased with the texture of the food and the flavor was just right with a little spicy kick. The aroma of the kitchen was nice and smelled fresh and the same with the food. Visited this place on 8/12/16 with recommendations from my daughter. It came as a surprise that this is a spot that you buy the fresh or frozen fish and they cook it for you. I ordered the 10 shrimp and 2 fish (flounder) you can have your food fried or steamed, I chose to have mine fried , I also ordered the 2 fried tilapia with 10 shrimp. My daughter ordered 1lb of fried shrimp. As well as the catfish nuggets ( missing Justin's catfish nuggets) The food was excellent in my opinion not overly breaded and you can request your food be cooked soft or crispy. My sons tilapia he said was salty again just ask for less seasoning. Catfish nuggets were pretty good but I'm not a catfish lover. I don't believe I will order them again because I don't like the taste of catfish (It wasn't pungent or over powering, but you could still taste that catfish taste a little). For this to be a neighborhood joint it is and will be my number one place for seafood. It is not a fancy restaurant and should not be placed in the same category. It is unfair to compare 1 pot to Pappadeaux. These are Two different atmospheres, two different clientele they seek to serve. Two different price points. Compare this restaurant to one of like status where they are a small store front. I wouldn't even compare this place to Red Lobster because they are not on the same level. I will note that I prefer 1 pot flounder and shrimp over Red Lobsters. The Coleslaw and tarter sauce at 1 Pot however, is disgusting. Expect to pay on average $12 for a 2 fish, 10 shrimp with a side (slaw, dirty rice, fries, I think one more option for side) and a 16 oz drink. This same meal at Pappadeaux would be close to $25. Don't expect an atmosphere because there is none. Get your food and go somewhere and enjoy it. Trust me the food is good for a neighborhood joint. My hubby & I would order to go low country boils & fried shrimp from here at least once a week. The food was yummy & prices kept increasing but we appreciated the convenience! However customer service SUCKS!! They will close anytime with no notice. Each time it seems as if getting any sauce or butter is frowned upon. A couple months ago I decided I was done patronizing this place. I placed my order over the phone & picked it up. I was told how many sauces/butter I would get. As the cashier was placing my order in the bag, the owner or manager(Asian lady) asked why so many sauces/butter & the cashier told her my exact order which was almost $150! The lady mumbled something. To my surprise when I arrived at my destination there was about half of the sauces/butter missing. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE!!! My coworkers and I work for a bank and we use to buy from here all the time. Spend good money. Even drive a pretty good distance to get there. When we first started going the plates were full and the food was fresh. We all loved the fried shrimp. They were a nice size and you could get a pound for 14.00 or 1/2 pound for 8. It was great. Then they stopped taking ebt (didn't affect us because we always paid debit or cash) and the plates started looking ridiculous. We ordered one day (1/2 pound)and when I got my food it looked like somebody had eaten half of them. All the plates look liked that way. We called to see what happened and the owner claimed the supplier sent smaller shrimp than usual. My reply was it was the size that alarmed us it was the quantity, the amount. A pound is a pound no matter what size the shrimp. Than she says there is usually 14 to 15 shrimp in a half pound. What!!! How do you know that, I'll tell you why, because they are not weighing it. Just putting 14 in the order. Thus stealing from a paying client. We slowed our order down in hopes they would get back on track. Well today we ordered a 1/2 lbs of jumbo and got 7 shrimp . They had been re-fried and were hard as bricks. She knows who we were and did it on purpose since we confronted her about them before. It's ok though she won't see a dime of our money ever again and we will file a complaint with the BBB. Because they stopped taking ebt they are trying to compensate for those lost sales by cheating the customers who still patronize their business. Don't go there. I hope they go out of business soon.
