While visiting Seattle and walking through Pike Place Market on a Saturday, I happened to walk by Pike Place Bakery, and the cannolis immediately caught my eye. It's in the corner before the gum wall. I'm a big peanut butter fan, so I had to try the peanut butter cannoli. Overall, it was good! The shell had a nice crispy texture, and the peanut butter cream was definitely satisfying but for me, the filling was a bit overwhelming since there was so much of it. I actually ended up taking out about half of the cream because it was a little too rich and sweet for my taste. That said, the flavor itself was still enjoyable, and I'd definitely come back to try another flavor since their selection looked tempting. A few things to know: they were super busy (not surprising given the location), they do accept cash, and they also take cards, but there's a $5 minimum for card purchases. Had a major sweet tooth and couldn't decide on what to eat, but I wanted something I don't usually get, especially while visiting a new city. Don't be fooled by the yummy-looking items on display... because they're not. Got a custard cinnamon roll that looked incredible... it was cold, hard, and dry. And expensive! My partner and I forced ourselves to eat it, but didn't finish it and sadly threw it away because it seemed like it was old. Maybe if it had been warmed up it would've been a 5/10 instead of a 2/10. A unique bakery in Pike Place that offers various the usual pastries along with some unique ones such as divinity cookies, Texas donuts, and pastry cups. We tried a mint chocolate divinity cookie and a raspberry pastry and enjoyed both! The cookie had a uniquely chalky texture that crumbled really easy. I so wanted to like Pike Place Bakery, but their quality just isn't great. After picking up some cheesy jalapeño bread and a cinnamon twist for the honey, he straight up disliked the bread to the point we threw it out - which almost never ever happens. The cinnamon twist wasn't too bad (definitely better than Cinnamon Works down the way), but he ended up telling me he prefers the baked goods from Whole Foods so we just haven't gone back. All in all, if you're at Pike Place I'd skip Pike Place Bakery and get your items at Three Girls Bakery across the street. read more

HORRIBLE service and pasteries are overpriced for absolutely no reason - no uniqueness or outstanding flavor. In fact, canolis tasted real stale and too sugary. Asked for service to purchase two pastries. The worker appeared bothered that we were asking for help/service. Then, when we were checking out, upon paying and putting the cash in my wallet - the lady told me that I needed to take "the trash" what appeared to be the pastry wrapper with me and throw it away. I told her that I didn't think that the wrapper was mine, and she responded by letting me know that it's from one of the pasteries she gave me, while pointing to my child that was eating it. I then asked if that's the case, if she could throw it away in the garbage, while pointing to the garbage right behind her beside the table - and she said I needed to throw it away myself. Had I have known this would have resulted in an issue - I would have never purchased from this small business. I am not sure why it was an issue to address that a pastry wrapper was left on the counter, further, it couldn't be tossed in the garbage right beside her. AVOID THIS BAKERY at all cost. A nice bakery for your sugary needs. The staff are welcoming and to the point. I wouldn't say that there is a lot of variety, but there should be at least one thing that catches your eye. Butterscotch always seems to get me so I went with the butterscotch divinity. It was super sweet so I could only eat a few bites every so often, but the butterscotch was a hit. As a cannoli lover, I can honestly say this is the real deal. The shell was perfectly fried, and the filling was soft, creamy, and was just the right amount of sweet. I honestly had a hard time choosing a flavor, but since this was my first visit, I went for the original (my favorite type of cannoli anyway). Next time, I'm going to try the chocolate peanut butter and/or Oreo! Pike Place Bakery is located in the heart of Pike Place Market amidst of all the commotion. I ordered the standard cream cheese cannoli while my friend was curious about their chocolate chip divinity cookie. There was no line and service was quick. The prices weren't too bad and probably on par for being front and center of Pike Place. Honestly, the cannoli wasn't that great - it was way too sweet and the consistency was way too thick. The best cannolis I've had were in Boston and these did not even compare. I would not order it again, however the divinity cookie - oh my! It doesn't have the same crumble and texture of a regular cookie because it is made with powdered sugar. The color also may be off putting as it looks like its not even cooked. It was very interesting and different for a chocolate chip cookie. I wish I had a cup of coffee to dip this into. 10 out of 10! read more

I visit this Barkley every time I'm in Pike Place! I'm a little sad about the other reviews because every pastry I've ever gotten has been delicious. I always get some doughnuts and coconut macaroons for my dad. The doughnuts are really dense, moist and cakey all tasking super fresh! The giant doughnuts stay fresh for days and we just cut of little pieces as we go! I take the macaroons back to my dad on the east coast and he thinks they're magical even a few days old! The only reason I give it 4 stars is because it can get a little pricey. Each item is at least $2 for one thing. There's one woman there who is exceptionally nice. I had no intention of buying a cannoli when I came into Pikes Place Market. It was not on my list of must try items; it didn't even get a mention on the foodie tour. My only disappointment is that I only bought one and I fly home tomorrow morning. This is not really a cannoli, it's a unique, sweet, cream cheese filling in a cannoli shell. The photos and display have your mouth all watering on their glass but this is where that "looks can be deceiving" comes into play. For those that know me, know that I love sweets!! especially dessert sweets!! but man, for the $5 spend on a strawberry shortcake with cream cheese... disappointing. should have taken my money over to peroshky for a salmon pate at that haha. My family and I were walking through the market and I was in the mood for something sweet. Hopped over to the side to look at some of the treats. The Coconut cream cheese filled doughnut was INCREDIBLE! It encompasses everything I've ever wanted in a doughnut. There was so much coconut and the cream cheese filling inside was gooey and delicious! And there were lots! I almost lost some a few times! Really hit the spot.
