Small dining area and small business, so it makes sense that the prices are low; yet the food is amazing! I recommend the steak.

The brunette mentioned she had only been there for five days, but you never would have known it. She did an excellent job checking on guests and making sure everyone was taken care of. I ordered the 3-bone rib dinner with mac and cheese. I'll admit, I'm a bit of a rib snob, but these were outstanding. They had the perfect glaze with a nice crisp on the outside, weren't overcooked, and were so tender but not falling off the bone without being overly fatty. Easily some of the best ribs I've ever had. The mac and cheese was good, but it was spicier than I could handle. It would be nice if there were a non-spicy option available. We enjoyed a few beers, great food, and sat out on the patio listening to blues music on a beautiful summer evening. It was the perfect atmosphere, and I can't wait to come back. The only downside is that parking can get a little tight when they're busy, but it's well worth the visit.

Food and drinks are ready in just a few minutes and the dining area is ample with clean tables and clean floors. An upgrade of plastic utensils would be appreciated however. The chili was especially good as was the pork BBQ sandwich. Prices were reasonable to add to the experience. Parking can be a problem but there is some to be found on the other side of the street but lacks a crosswalk so be very careful.

Other products include gummies and Philadelphia Water Ice, which I believe is Italian ice. As soon as my husband and I entered the store, an employee kindly greeted us. He told us about his products, and he offered free samples of his fudges. I bought two products, and here are my reviews for them: Chocolate-caramel-pecan turtles - 4.5 stars - Four turtles weighed 1/4 pound and cost $8. I would prefer more chocolate and caramel and fewer pecans, but I thought that these turtles tasted good. Bourbon Cherry Chocolate fudge - 4.5 stars - This fudge cost $5 for 1/4 pound. I enjoyed the sweet flavors. I saw many other chocolates and other sweets that looked delicious, but I try to have a generally healthy diet, so I will wait to buy more sweets here until I am in the neighborhood again.

You also have the option to try out some samples before you buy. Although all the truffles and chocolates looked delicious, today, I decided to just try the penuche fudge, peanut butter chocolate fudge, and the chocolate covered popcorn. The penuche fudge was delicious, but also quite sweet (on the verge of being too sweet). When describing what the fudge tastes like, the shop owner said it is similar to a Werther's caramel. I agree; there is definitely a caramely taste. I tried a sample of the plain milk chocolate which was absolutely amazing. The triple chocolate fudge is also great and consists of white, dark, and milk chocolate. The next fudge I got was the peanut butter chocolate fudge. It is made with Belgian milk chocolate (all the chocolate they use is Belgian). The chocolate flavor is perfectly sweet. The peanut butter flavor is strong and creamy. The texture is on point in both of the fudges. And, the price is quite reasonable with a 1/4 pound costing $5. Finally, the chocolate covered popcorn was also great. A whole bag is just $3! The chocolate is by far the best part of this sweet treat. I believe it is the same high quality milk chocolate they use in their fudge. The popcorn itself was okay, but it was too buttery in my opinion. All in all, I will definitely return to the Boulevard Sweet Shoppe. The service is friendly, there is a great sweet selection, and the flavors are quite good. When it comes to Oakmont sweets: get your baked goods at the Oakmont Bakery, and stop by the Boulevard Sweet Shoppe for candies, fudge, bark, and other sweets.

Stopped in on this "soft opening" evening, seeing they were open. We ordered a number of things - cheese steak hoagie, shrimp and fries, onion rings and some grape leaves. It was hot and ready in 15 minutes. Took everything home (including some rice pudding the very friendly and personable owner threw in gratis) and we started chomping. Great food...my son said the hoagie was excellent, and the very large breaded shrimp were terrific, as were the fries and onion rings. Great chow! The one and only observation would be that the grape leaves seemed a bit too...soft inside? Overall though, Forest Hills has another winner in the borough! Try them! Thumbs up!

I tried this place 6 years ago because of the reviews and never went back. The ribs that were served to me appeared to have been eaten already and was just dipped in bbq sauce. The folks working here were very friendly and my food was ready pretty quickly. The dining room was clean and comfortable except for the very loud ice machine which sounded like a jet engine. Most of the business seemed to be drive-through, and there's another dining room on the other side of the restaurant away from the noisy ice machine. The fish, chicken, and hush puppies were great -- so was the coleslaw -- but the waffle fried were not warm. I debated asking for more waffle fries that were hot but decided just not to eat them since the meal probably had enough calories by itself. Overall, this was a good experience and I appreciate that LJS still offers vinegar for the fries or, in my case, on the fish.

I'm always up for a quick stop where I can get a mix of fish and whatever else I would like. Being out by myself recently I decided to take a stop here. The bad thing was that I showed up here on a Friday during lent...about the only time you will see one of these locations packed to the point that there is a line to get into the drive thru and at the inside counter. This visit has to be the only time I had to wait to place my order and for my food to be prepared. Which I'm not going to knock since that meant fresh. After ordering, L12 that is, I went over and filled my drink. I started to stand there and wait with everyone else, but that was a bad mistake as this area was loaded with people and it was in front of where you got your condiments. I took this as a cue for me to go find a seat. This place, from the outside, is deceptive. I thought it only had the dining room right as you walked in like many fast food places. But this location has a second and third dining area. Ample seating in areas away from the noise. I found myself a seat, got my condiments, used the restroom and still had time to wait until my food was ready. My food was finally ready and I went about eating. I think this can go without saying, but the portion sizes here have gone way down. The fish, which used to be as big as your face, is now like the size of your palm. The chicken, felt like it was a chicken tender at one point, until they cut it in half. The fries have gone waffle style. The slaw is an old reliable. The only thing that seems to have ballooned in size (as well as price) is the hush puppies. They even scaled back on the crunchies. Overall, too much food, but I ate it all. I was pleasantly full by the time I left with my barrel of soda. My LJS craving has been ebbed for the time being.
